I head canon that Ezra sometimes plays with hounds from hunt of smoke and shadow. Like he throws them a ball/stick or or just pet them. I will stand on that hill.

one of the most underrated parts of the first nevermoor book is when elder quinn is shouting at jupiter for not giving her a heads-up about the wundersmith thing and he's actually cowed by her despite her being five feet tall and an old woman...and morrigan who's RATHER JUSTIFIABLY pissed at jupiter at this point is watching all this like "good. get his ass."
