Die Stille in mir

Als ich für drei Tage in einem Kloster war, bin ich früh mit den Mönchen aufgestanden, um ihrem morgendlichen Gesang zu lauschen. Danach, es war 5 Uhr 55, setzte ich mich an das Klavier im Seminarraum, und es entstand eine friedliche, meditative Musik ohne Worte. Ich habe sie dem „Upstalsboom Weg“ gewidmet, dessen Einladung mich an diesen Ort geführt hatte. Die Stille ist der Anfang von allem, aus ihr entsteht alles. Wenn ich Frieden suche, suche ich Stille. Wenn ich Musik machen möchte, setze ich mich an den Flügel, und oft lausche ich zuerst der Stille. Dann entstehen in mir Gefühle - und daraus wird Musik. Das Stück gab dem Album seinen Namen und begründet den Anfang der Reise aus der Stille ins Leben. The extreme French politician Jean-Marie Le Pen died this week.

As paratrooper, he participated in torture in Algeria. And happily admitted to it in his later life. "Just following orders, people!" "Hey, the others did it too."

One of the practices that the French army invented in Algeria - later enthusiastically copied by military regimes in Latin America - was throwing people out of helicopters above the sea.

The Italian director Gillo Pontecorvo exposed the French army in his movie "The Battle of Algiers" (1966).

(No French journalist would go there; Charles de Gaulle saw to it that the movie couldn't be seen in France.)

Ennio Morricone wrote the soundtrack.
