Morning Digest from Rereading Ouran Koukou Host Club
It’s not a surprise for my besties that I’ve been a fan of manga and anime since childhood (I’ll be 30 this March by the way!)
This morning, I reread one of the greatest shoujo (intended to be read by young girls) manga ever in my teenage years. It’s Ouran Koukou Host Club (do check it! It’s full of social and psychological daily cases wrapped up in a beautiful slow-paced romance yet such absolute comedy)
--
Rereading and rewatching are always my two favorite things. Somehow, new perspective is applied because I’m now an adult. Things I didn’t realize were there now are seen clearer than ever, as the chapter I read just now.
--
Last year, someone I truly adore voluntarily gave me advice I couldn’t accept. It wasn’t an obvious advice, actually. He began by saying that men tend to like a woman who wants to be helped. They are not accustomed dealing with independent ones. Well, that time I could only grin. I guess that’s my way to show that I was trying my best to accept his point of view while at the same time realizing he doesn’t want to understand my position right now (and it’s okay because he’s no more available tho).
--
Rereading Ouran Chapter 8-9 was surely eye-opening. I never realized there’s such deep meaning behind the scenes when the female character is scolded by one of the male characters there after she did a reckless thing. I assume this might be “the men’s expectation”: to have their opposite sex ask for help. However, as the chapter went to its end, a certain condition revealed that this young girl has no intention to be reckless at all. She’s just accustomed of taking care of herself all her life. Well, being the only child of the motherless family is enough to explain “the why”, I guess.
And realizing her male friends’ point of view that the reason their friend was angry wasn’t simply because of nothing but worry, it truly made me realize, that an independent women found it deeply hard to know that some people truly love them and are of course capable enough to care about them.
--
I honestly admit that it’s soothing my soul witnessing how the boy in the story that was once angry came to understanding about the girl’s reasoning, as if I was the one being understood.
--
Finishing these chapters has given me new perspective I once didn’t find when I was a teenage girl years ago reading the same story. I can relate to what the female character did in this chapter, because whole my life, despite having been supported financially during the school years, as one of children of a single mother, I know I’ve been taking care of myself alone.
Somehow, Chapter 9 especially reminded me that a man that loves me will try to see my doing through my reasoning, that I don’t have to lower my standard only to find a typical guy that desires to apply his manly sides while not respecting my whole being as a woman having no choice but to be independent all her life. I hope there’s someone humble enough to see my independence as a strong trait, not a weakness :)
Good morning from rainy Jakarta <3

10 Things You Probably Don’t Know About Digestion
In Ayurvedic medicine, the three doshas (Vata, Pitta, and Kapha) are believed to govern different physiological processes in the body. Each individual has a unique balance of doshas, and this balance can change throughout life due to factors such as diet, lifestyle, and stress. An imbalance in any of these doshas can lead to digestive issues. When it comes to digestion, Vata governs the movement of food through the gut, Pitta governs the metabolism of nutrients, and Kapha governs the lubrication and strength of the stomach and intestines. Additionally, ayurvedic digestive tablets can help improve digestion and alleviate stomach discomfort.

It’s fascinating how little the US at large knew about Walz before this week, but at the same time… it makes sense. He wasn’t their governor. They haven’t seen the incredible work he’s done first-hand, and they haven’t had years to appreciate his authentic charm.
He’s never been a politician who sought out the limelight - everything Minnesota has done in this historic year of progressive legislation and policy has been relatively quiet. He’s not on the road jockeying for the latest sound byte on CNN or some podcast - he’s working to implement the policies people want. He’s tweeting about Mountain Dew. He’s at the state fair eating fried food and talking to his constituents. This is the governor we know. A man who cares deeply about the work he does and the people he represents, not the fame, not the clicks.
He’s genuine. Minnesotans know that. Now it’s time to sell that to the rest of the country.
#tim walz#Walz#almost every morning living here in MN is reading about a new victory in the news#for the people for the state for those most in need#I took it for granted and didn’t realize the rest of the country didn’t see it#MN is as close as you can get to utopia#and the DFL (dems) got a trifecta and Walz ran with it#but anyway it’s a double edged sword#the reason no one knew about him is good (he puts his head down and cares about doing his job)#but now it’s like… everyone’s got to drink from a firehouse#he’s done so much good it’s impossible to fit in a tweet (what most people can digest)#let’s keep the hype going yeah?#Harris Walz

Fun fact: The section of the stomach closest to the esophageal sphincter is named the “cardia” (as in cardiac) because it’s the closest part of the stomach to the heart.
The bottom portion of the esophagus passes directly by the heart. But the stomach itself is separated from the heart by the diaphragm, which separates the digestive organs and the respiratory organs into different body cavities.
But even with the diaphragm in between, endoscopy footage shows that our heartbeats are clearly visible through the stomach wall in the “cardia” area.
Do with this information what you will ;)

I know nothing about 911 but seeing all the bucktommy posts makes me really interested, if you don’t mind could you give a short introduction of the ship/which episode(s) to watch for them? Thanks!!
Hi! So the ship is a very new one and they don't have a lot of screen time yet, so their relationship only appears in season seven, episodes: 7x3 to 7x6 and then 7x9 and 7x10. Tommy Kinard as a side character also shows up in episodes 2x9, 2x12, 2x14 (in an off-screen capacity) and 2x16.
As for the introduction, the lore with this show runs sort of deep, but as condensed and simplified as I can give it to you: the decision to introduce bi!Buck and Tommy and his love interest was made very last minute (like as the first few episodes of season seven were coming out kind of last minute...) as the tv show switched networks from FOX to ABC and was working with a protracted season, (10 episodes in stead of 18), so this first season you see them together in has a very "let's see how well this works and if the general audience approves of it" kind of vibe.
Obviously, it worked for me! And the general reception has been good. Personally, I find their dynamic fun and genuine; the show runner was aiming for a non-heavy coming out story with a romcom twist, which I think they succeeded at. Buck (or "Evan" as Tommy calls him) is sort of the obvious favourite of the show in the audience and the writer's eyes, he's gotten a lot of development over the years, but has stagnanted recently on the romance side of things and also in his professional development, (which is partly the fault of the writers and partly just bad luck with maintaining actors). So I think a lot of fans are excited to see him "off the hamster wheel", as they say, in the love department. This opens up the possibility to explore other plot lines with him as a character in his professional life and personal life now that hes in a steady relationship.
Tommy we don't know much about yet, other than he was deeply in the closet when we first see him in the season 2 flash-back episodes. He's not initially a very warm, welcoming, and accepting person, but it's implied that a lot of that behavior was influenced by his environment and poor upbringing, and he is quick to make amends and befriend the main characters when he's shown to be in the wrong. He used to be in the army, and is a fan of cars, martial arts, and rom coms. The way he talks in the season seven episodes makes it clear that he's done a lot of self reflection since we've last seen him (and since he's come out). He's shown to be an open and honest person who does his best to show up for the people he cares for, and once Buck is in his line of sight, all that attention is turned his way.
I think with this ship what people are most excited about is the potential it demonstrates: Buck as a character is someone who's been on an aggressive misson of self discovery and understanding, he's been actively looking for a romantic partner to have a committed, mature relationship with, he's someone who's willing to give a lot of himself away to his partner and is desperately hoping to have that attention and affection mirrored back at him.
What little we know about Tommy so far makes it clear that he's mature and willing enough to be that person for Buck: if it works out and the writers allow him to be. I just really enjoy what little I've seen so far, and with the show being back to its regular 18 episodes next season and Tommy pretty much confirmed to return, I'm interested and invested and hopefully in where they may take this relationship next.
Also I feel like I need to add if you're going to engage with the fandom specifically for this ship, do it through the #bucktommy tag on tumblr, because it's a real mine field out there right now, lol.
#bucktommy#asks#sorry I'm wine drunk i hope this makes sense#also I'm fairly new to this fandom so if anyone wants to add extra context feel free#I'm juat very good at digesting information and love to rubber neck and used to work in tv production#911#i will edit this in the morning 🤦🏼️

Sparty started her Christmas Crisis early this year, and hasn't kept food down for almost 48hrs.
She seemed good today - until 16:30 when the vet's office closed and she ejected four hour old boiled chicken under my workbench :)
#otherwise she seems fine - no fever and not lethargic apart from discomfort and tiredness#for the past two nights shes been waking us up every 3hrs :)) but less in the daytime#so we'll see#holding back solids tonight and sticking to broth and maybe a teaspoon of yoghurt which she usually handles well#just to get something into her#shes not super lean rn but last time she had a stomach bug it lasted a week and digestive kibble made her MUCH worse#if she gets worse im calling the vet in the morning#but im not optimistic on that either bc i know step 1 is 'you have to give her a week on this prescription food her stomach is NOT used to'

when it comes to naming prey after a meal time, i do think that lunch is the best option
breakfast is too small, and ppl usually don't eat as much for breakfast
dinner makes it seem like too big of a deal, like dinner is a big event, u pull out all the stops etc. but it puts too much pressure on it imo
but lunch is perfect because:
it has a longer time frame; basically any meal can be lunch, because it's any time in between breakfast and dinner
if someone asks why you look bloated, you can be like 'i just had lunch,' or better, 'i had a big lunch.' you can't say 'i had dinner' bc no you didn't, it's the middle of the day (this kind of is the same as the previous point)
lunch is no big deal, it's casual, and after you have lunch, you can move on with your day. whereas dinner you should go to bed, and breakfast who cares about it.
Lunch is like important but not too important, you don't need to eat that much for lunch, but you can if you want to. You didn't have to have an entire person for lunch. But it's like a treat, having something extra filling when you usually would just have a sandwich
afternoon nap
it can be more spontaneous. You don't have to plan a lunch that carefully, you can just see a prey, and decide hey, lunch time.
I think if you want to call someone dinner, you have to do a bit more scheming. You'd need more time to prepare, and it has a different tone
But lunch is easy to have, it applies to more situations, and therefore it's the best thing to call a prey
#honourable mention to dessert#snack i guess#afternoon tea maybe. morning tea as well.#i think that covers all of them#tw vore#v/ore#fatal vore#vore writing#implied digestion#vore fic#soft vore#v.ore#digestion#vore digestion#voreblr#vore posting#vore post#soft v0re#vore thoughts#vore prompt#pred pov#vore prey

As much as I like to be silly with Ford, I have such strong feelings about the way some (a lot) of people treat him/his character, and I had to stop engaging with a lot of the fandom at large bc it pissed me off so much to see him get bastardised so badly by people with no concept of how humans work in the real world lmao
#i straight up follow like 25 blogs on here bc of this#i feel like I’ve made myself clear in those asks about the abuse he suffered and the inability to view people as victims#when they’re not ‘perfect’ and don’t toe the line of being digestible#especially male characters too#and it physically hurts to see him get so mischaracterised sometimes#controversially (?) I think Alex contributes to that too#but who am i to say ykwim#also the fact i can’t go anywhere without seeing b!llf0rd is frustrating#good morning haters! how are we this fine day

question: have any of you personally seen a dietician (not looking for experiences with nutritionists, only dieticians), and did you find it helpful or useful, and if you did see a dietician and you ALSO have seen a GI doctor, how did the experience compare for you in terms of helpfulness + how much you felt listened to and helped?
#i'm trying to figure out which doctor appointments I want to bother making and spending money about for potentially no return on investment#and right now i'm trying to figure out if I'd get way more practical help from a dietician or if I need to suck it up and find a#not-elderly not-male not-dismissive GI doctor first and THEN see a dietician#although I cannot afford a bunch of tests#so like???#trying to figure out if a dietician would be more helpful overall with me not HAVING any GI diagnoses or eating disorders#and just really struggling with food in both sensory ways and unpredictable digestion ways that don't correlate with food allergies#god i sometimes wish i had food allergies so i could have some predictability#but yeah. i'm leaning towards dietician but figured i should crowdsource experiences#since I know a lot of you have health issues you've also been trying to manage for years and probably have good advice#if it helps i'm also in a major city now and have a decent-but-not-great health insurance plan so I'm good on those two fronts#to do#health#I know a dietician can't diagnose anything but I'd love help figuring out how to get maximum nutrition even when i can barely eat anything#or when my body decides to start getting sick from or (tw emetophobia) puking up fiber or fatty foods#which thankfully isn't often#now that I do cannabis daily in microdosing I have so much less pain and bloating and nausea#but when it hits it HITS#and the last time I tried going without cannabis for a couple days and then eating a fiber muffin I was sick six times in one morning#and didn't get my normal eating ability back until dinnertime#luckily that's not normal for me#but my issues bounce up and down so much#and I lose weight so fast whenever my appetite goes from 'barely ever there' to 'negatively nonexistent'#and I had like. two months last year where I think i reached my body's natural healthy set weight#and i needed so much food but it felt so good energy wise and temperature wise#and i'd like to STAY THERE FFS#and I feel like a dietician would be helpful for making meal options for good#*good and hard and nuclear alert level eating difficulty times#anyway. crowdsourcing. yay!

me: i desperately need to finally clean up my room a bit and get some chores done on my two days off this week!
my period: uh well actually you’re going to spend all of both days being debilitated, curled up in your bed with a heat pad writhing in agony and being severely depressed!
#⟡ — kayleigh.txt#... i am going to do laundry later so i have clothes to wear to work all five shifts but other than that i am not doing anything#because i feel disgusting and gross and i am in so much fucking pain right now and my digestive system is fucked too#i was going to change my sheets but i don’t want to accidentally bleed on my brand new ones so like. just in case. i’m gonna wait 🥲👍🏻#everything can wait another week i guess ughhh#hopefully my fucking period is done and gone asap but especially by this coming tuesday morning 😭🤞🏻#didn’t account for my period when i started this job; definitely need to discuss possibly getting a hysterectomy with my rheumatologist#because like. my period is so fucking excruciating and debilitating. i am so fucking exhausted and miserable and sick of this shit#i am not ever having children at least not birthing them myself so why do i even need this fucking useless thing#my chronically ill body can literally not fucking handle this period bullshit it practically kills me every fucking month

read more than 50 pages while i was outside today!!!!!!! where’s my trophy
#OUTSIDE as in like…. public places such as class and train station and train and bus stop#who am i#no one ask but this blog is my diary so here it is#so in the morning i continued a few pages of crooked kingdom before class. but then my friends came and the teacher came so i stopped#and we literally didn’t study anything AT ALL today it was such a waste#so after a few hours of talking with my friends because as i said literally no classes i decided to read again#i was going to read ck but i felt like i would just going to go around the sentences and not understanding anything if i did#thank goodness i also brought another book circe by madeline miller so i started that#and it’s really great!!!! i started that book at 2 am days ago but haven’t continued it again. and because i didn’t really remember much#from that i decided to start over and it’s good!!!!!#tell me why sometimes general fiction books are easier for me to digest than ya/mg#i think maybe it’s because with ya/mg (esp fantasy) has such a fast and complicated plot to keep the readers entertained#and this book imm reading is just a retelling of greek myths but?#anyways yeah i’m kinda hooked#actually thinking of finally putting song of achilles in my tbr#reading tag#nadirants
