January 2024 - Kelly Monrow is a passionate singer and songwriter, specializing in genres such as Americana and Country-Pop. In addition to making music, Kelly has also been active as an on-screen talent, doing commercial and even modeling. She eventually left her native Austin, Texas, to experience live in Los Angeles and New York. Known for roles in popular shows like Billions and Lucifer, Kelly ventured into music with producer Dean Sams for the EP "Pronoia," featuring hits like “Wide Open” and “Not If You Stay.”

She has recently unveiled exciting news about her upcoming song, scheduled for release on February 16. This announcement comes on the heels of her latest single and a full album release in 2023.

The production of the track is indeed very spot-on, allowing the music to capture the vision to perfection. The instrumental mix is balanced and direct, with a really deep low end and a crunchy mid-range that adds a lot of excitement to the track. In addition to that, the treble range is smooth and bright, adding a lot of silky edge to the mix, and allowing the vocals to really pop to the forefront of the mix. Every element on the track is crisp and clear, enabling Kelly’s vocal performance to stand out. Her voice has such a deep, beautiful and diverse range, and it’s amazing that the recording captures it all in a very beautiful way! In addition to that, the track still retains a very organic twist to it, while also giving way to the main energy of the song and highly dynamic delivery.

I love how you manage to render your tracks so personal and organic. Does the melody come first, or do you focus on the beat the most? My producer, Sinclair, usually starts the melody, and then when we hear something that feels close to what I want, the lyrics just start pouring in!

Do you perform live? If so, do you feel more comfortable on a stage or within the walls of the recording studio? Yes, I perform live! It’s a totally different beast. I absolutely love being in the walls of the studio when recording - it’s very intimate, and I feel I can bare my soul. The stage is a bit more timid for me, so I am working on that part.

If you could only pick one song to make a “first impression” on a new listener, which song would you pick and why? I think Mama Said - it’s one of the first songs I wrote, and it’s real and gritty and closest to the sound I’ve been trying to achieve since I started. It’s a catchy tune!

What does it take to be “innovative” in music? I think being authentic and yourself. Try to make music that you want to hear that resonates with your soul and write real shit then the fans will follow.

Any upcoming release or tour your way? Answer: Not right now. I am focused on being in the studio in Paris and being inspired by the culture in Europe… trying to infuse new cultural sounds and make country music with a twist!
