Exploring the Unique Properties of Mono Crystal Diamonds for Industrial Use
Introduction
Mono crystal diamond is one of the top materials in the advanced materials society; it is among the most valuable and versatile substances employed today in modern industries. This type of diamond has some rare properties, including super hardness, thermal conductivity, and chemical stability, making them more and more popular with these various applications in high technology. Companies like IMAT-CVD are doing noble work to manufacture and refine mono crystal diamond to ensure that industries reap the benefits of their properties.
So, what exactly is it that makes mono crystal diamond so special? Let's explore its distinct features and the vital role it plays in industrial applications.
Unique Properties of Mono Crystal Diamonds
Exceptional Hardness and Durability
One of the defining features of mono crystal diamonds includes unmatched hardness. It is known to be the hardest material yet to be discovered, and synthetic materials cannot surpass it in resistance to wear and abrasion. This property makes the mono crystal diamond most suitable for precision cutting, grinding, and drilling tools.
High Thermal Conductivity
Unlike most materials, single crystal diamond exhibits notable thermal conductivity; hence it dissipates heat. This property finds particular use in manufacturing high-performance electronics and semiconductors, whereas excess heat may degrade the components after some time.
Chemical and Wear Resistance
The chemical inertness of single crystal diamond acts as a tool for industries that require equipment and components capable of withstanding extreme environments. They resist oxidation, corrosion, and most chemical reactions giving them an extra advantage in the harshest of industrial processes.
Optical Transparency
A unique feature of mono crystal diamond is, therefore, its superb optical properties arising from the special structure of the crystal. Comprising the full hardness scale, they are used in crafting optical lenses, lasers, and other scientific instruments requiring incredibly reduced distortion while transmitting light.
Industrial Applications of Mono Crystal Diamonds
Mono Crystal Diamonds in Cutting Tools
The remarkable hardness of mono crystal diamonds makes these the favored material for manufacturing cutting tools. Application for the precise processing of metals and shaping of hard ceramics surpasses the efficiency and accuracy of what other materials are able to deliver.
Use in Semiconductor Manufacturing
Because of their great thermal characteristics, these diamonds are often used in the electronics industry for making semiconductor wafers, heat spreaders, and substrates for high-power electronics.
Applications in Optical and Laser Technologies
Advanced lasers and optical systems demand superior transparency and durability of the constituent materials. For this, mono crystal diamonds are used for the production of laser windows, lenses, and optical components, hence embedding them with high accuracy and minimum energy loss.
Role in High-Precision Machining
The machining of certain essential components by the aerospace and automotive industries, among others, requires very high precision, and mono crystal diamonds suit that purpose perfectly. They can maintain sharp edges without wear and resist abrasion in these processes.
Challenges in Mono Crystal Diamond Production
High Production Costs
The production of mono crystal diamonds is a tedious and expensive process. The technology in CVD synthesis involved requires precision, and that renders large-scale production an expensive affair.
Difficulties in Scaling Production
As industries are beginning to appreciate the benefits, the increasing demand for high-quality mono crystal material keeps rising. The functional challenge in this will be an increase in production while maintaining quality.
Innovations in Future Mono Crystal Diamond Synthesis
Research would focus on new techniques for increasing efficiency and reducing the costs of manufacturing mono crystal diamonds. With advances in CVD technology and material science to further revolutionize the industry.
Conclusion
The demands of mono-crystal diamonds are on the verge of exploding across industries-they have superior hardness, thermal conductivity, and chemical resistance. IMAT-CVD, being the leader in this business, is engaged in the development and manufacture of mono-crystal diamonds for industrial usage. Given the time-tested quality and performance of their product, they ensure a conducive trade partnership.
Technology moves on, and there is nothing but good news ahead for such industries, which are dependent on the properties of mono crystal diamond.

A bit of a change of pace, but I figure I'd put it here because this blog is - at the moment - called "Kyle's Various Lists and Stuff"...
I am a Disney VHS collector and enthusiast. Have been collecting those things, in earnest, since 2005. I used to run a blogger-dot-com blog on that, too... I believe a version of this list is buried on there somewhere. Maybe not?
Anyways, for those not in the know... What you see above is the Walt Disney Classics motion graphic that first appeared on Disney videocassettes and videodiscs in 1988, and was used - officially - up until 1994. It made a few accidental appearances after that, though, in both North America and overseas, too.
This was for the line known as "The Classics", or "Walt Disney Classics", a video line created by Walt Disney Home Video in 1984 as the library of the studio's esteemed animated features - many of them premiered on video for the first time as part of this line. In 1994, it would be retired and replaced by the Walt Disney Masterpiece Collection, and then that would later be replaced by the Walt Disney Gold Classic Collection in 2000. This "Classics" line used a different, less sophisticated logo during its early years, this logo - which was itself a brother logo to the company's standard Walt Disney Home Video intro graphic - would replace it in 1988.
So, interestingly, there are three visual variants of this logo first introduced in 1988 on the video release of CINDERELLA. The one above is the first ever variant... And it's rather rare, because the art department behind this motion graphic immediately made some changes to the logo. So, the second ever appearance of the logo on the 1989 BAMBI video release... it looked a little different. The black/blue gradient background was changed to a solid blue, the diamond looked more like a frame than a metal plaque, and the overall coloring on the letters was different. That version was commonly used from 1989 to 1992, when a very saturated and very "blue" version of the logo started cropping up in 1992... That's another discussion for another day...
So below is a list of all the appearances of this early version of the Classics logo, with the gradient background and plaque diamond:
CINDERELLA 1988 VHS: This is the only appearance of the logo where it is perfectly centered... All other appearances of this logo have it noticeably off to the right of the screen. It is also, apparently, in mono on this release. The jingle isn't as crystal clear as it sounds on later releases. This off-center version also appears on the French-Canadian VHS (those usually had their own unique openings in terms of warning screens and previews - or lack thereof), released the same time. Also appears on the LaserDisc release, sometimes Classics LaserDiscs didn't use a Classics logo at all.
BAMBI 1989 FRENCH CANADIAN VHS
DISNEY/TOUCHSTONE HOME VIDEO JAPANESE PROMO VHS 1989: A recently discovered roughly 12min demo/promo tape for what was available on home video from Disney in Japan in 1989.
FANTASIA - THE MAKING OF A MASTERPIECE 1991 BONUS VHS: This cassette was part of the deluxe edition release of FANTASIA. Though the FANTASIA release bares no Classics logo or even "Walt Disney's Classic" heading on the packaging or VHS shell itself, it opens with the 1989 variant. This box set-exclusive VHS opens with the gradient variant. How unusual!
101 DALMATIANS 1992 FRENCH CANADIAN VHS: Curiously, the four Classics releases from Disney in 1992... All the French Canadian releases opened with this logo.
THE GREAT MOUSE DETECTIVE 1992 FRENCH CANADIAN VHS
THE RESCUERS 1992 DEMO VHS
THE RESCUERS 1992 LASERDISC: Unusual, in that the VHS release opens with the 1992 variant of the Classics logo.
THE RESCUERS 1992 FRENCH CANADIAN VHS: Quite something how the September 1992 video release of THE RESCUERS had a lot of the 1988 Classics logo appearing around it... This, the demo tape, the LaserDisc... Except for the actual US/Canadian release itself, which used the 1992 "bluer" variant. (And was also the first release to have the jingle presented in a muddy, bass-heavy mix.)
ROBIN HOOD 1991 VHS - LATER PRESSINGS: These pressings of ROBIN HOOD's 1991 VHS release started showing up in around fall 1992, right around the time of THE RESCUERS' VHS release. The first pressings of the '91 ROBIN HOOD release originally opened with a cut-short version of the 1989 Classics logo variant, then a rarer set of pressings of early 1992 had that as well but without previews before it... Then there were these pressings.
DUMBO 1992 DESCRIPTIVE SERVICES VHS: This logo did, curiously, show up on descriptive services VHS tapes of certain Disney titles around this time. This DUMBO release was the earliest one I could find.
BEAUTY AND THE BEAST 1992 DEMO VHS
BEAUTY AND THE BEAST 1992 FRENCH CANADIAN VHS
PINOCCHIO 1993 FRENCH CANADIAN VHS
MARY POPPINS 1994 DESCRIPTIVE SERVICES VHS: The most curious of the DVS VHS tapes... MARY POPPINS, being a live-action film with some animation in it, was never considered one of the "animated features" and thus was not part of the Classics line... But this VHS uses the logo for some reason.
ALADDIN 1994 DESCRIPTIVE SERVICES VHS
If there are any missing, please let me know!

with the limited starter choices in the pmd games i don't have as many options as i would've liked, so i only decided to make the main crystal gems starter choices from the game (and because i reallllyyy wanted pink to be a diancie,, and the story so far wouldnt make sense if she were always a sylveon)
ill get more into the lore of how the gems work here but the short version is they can retreat into their gems at will (and immediately after they faint,) they sort of work like pokeballs i guess?? lmaoo
also if anyone wants me to explain the pokemon i chose here just lmk
so with that being said, here's all the current pokemon choices for the AU:
steven — eevee (evolves into sylveon eventually)
garnet — ninetales (kantonian / alolan mix, ruby & sapphire are kantonian and alolan vulpix)
amethyst — luxio (electric/fighting type, she's unable to evolve further)
pearl — ampharos (electric/psychic)
peridot — shiny espeon (mono psychic, psychic/steel w the limb enhancers)
jasper — luxray (fighting/electric)
lapis — vaporeon (water/flying)
greg — flareon (fire/normal)
connie — chikorita (?? this is subject to change, theres a lot of choices here for her but i love connie and i love chikorita. so. (also mono grass))
rose quartz — sylveon (fairy/steel)
pink diamond — diancie (fairy)
blue diamond — tapu fini (??) (water)
yellow diamond — zeraora (electric)
white diamond — nihilego (typeless??)

Sink (short story ig)
She was a researcher, honorably discharged after nearly 45 years in the field, not for lack of ability, but as a result of that tiredness that can only come from stagnation in your job. She was also an acolyte of water, a thing that garnered her some flack from her colleagues, with talks of "unprofessional biases" and "skewed analysis". By the time she had left though, she had already proven them wrong tens of times over. At some point though, she just grew tired of it, in the beginning of her career it had just been more fun, new discoveries were being made on a monthly basis, with major advancements delivered annually, but these days science was just slower. A somewhat significant discovery may come in a year, and one major discovery had been made in the past 15 years, and not for lack of trying, the field she was in had only grown since her employment and was still going strong after her departure.
Anyhow, she had fled the field due to its stagnation and went to pursue her truer passion, water. She left and went straight to the sea, buying a ship, becoming a seawoman and taking any jobs she was capable of. At this point, she is working on a job for a new research group (a small group of 18-22 year-olds all water acolytes or agnostic) calling themselves "All the way down". They didn't say too much about their research goals, which was unusual for scientists, especially young ones, but they paid enough, and they let her keep the equipment, which was an unusually generous deal. Even more so considering what the equipment was: a state-of-the art IMU in a mono-malgasteel frame, about the size of a coffee table, but only as heavy as a dictionary, and stronger than steel. The IMU had an accuracy range of 10^8-10^-12, a ludicrous amount, with a 4 Ghz sample rate to boot, capable of measuring the vibration of a 40Mhz tuning fork 30 feet across a room with 40 lbs. of mass bearing down on the IMU itself. The frame has ludicrous specifications as well, able to easily take 20,000N of compressive force with only 0.01% normal deformation (the most strict threshold for material failure), and able to plastically deform up to 3 degrees, an even more insane metric considering it's rigidity. And more than that, it is made of malgasteel, and mono-malgasteel no less. A (good) piece of malgasteel is a quasi-crystalline, holographic, macromolecule. A highly composite alloy forming a single continuous crystalline structure with insane material properties (as mentioned). And its most miraculous property, exposure to elemnic earth can compose the energy from the elemnic earth into the greater crystalline structure, it can regenerate; not only can it regenerate, it can regenerate using one of the most widely available substances in Flux. This material is invaluable, economically speaking. It is a magician, turning literal dirt into something much more valuable than diamond. It's miraculous properties derive directly from the core science of crystal holography, making crystals which grow into complex macroscopic structures based on the microscopic properties of the seed it grows from. There are of course, many other sciences involved in the process of actually creating a malgasteel object, but crystal holography is the one which originally theorized the existence of malgasteel.
Nerdy rambling aside, so far, the job had been going well, all she had to do was go to a specific spot selected by the scientists and drop the device down to a specific depth and record for a specific amount of time at a specific time of day, for a month straight. That seems like a long time, but the scientists needed an ungodly amount of data for a new technique they were testing to find an as yet unknown component to the physics of elemnic water.

An excerpt from an early draft of my current WIP A Funeral for Stella Carson
Content Warnings for: Violence, Death, Gore, Dismemberment, & Shitty Exes
Hard wood floors groaned under her feet as she entered, dust swirling in the air as the door shut behind her. Everything was covered in dust, a fine gray-black layer over a perfect Victorian bedroom. Dark woods prevailed: from the small canopied bed and the towering mirror face of the wardrobe, to the agonized faces in the carved relief above the fireplace and the writing desk that lay opposite. Cobwebs hung heavy from the crown molding. The dying embers in the hearth cast a low and cooling light, but despite this Stella still felt the terrible heat.
A small chair faced away towards the fireplace. A pedestal was set next to it with a crystal glass of bourbon. In the chair was a woman. She wore an expansive white dress that trailed on the floor towards the fireplace, ends burnt and smoking as if she had been feeding it to the flames. Light blonde hair curled towards her face, with its porcelain features. When she spoke Stella knew it was with a startling solidity, hard as diamond.
Primrose Dearly looked at her with deep, vacuous eyes. She had been Stella's first girlfriend, her confidant, her rival. Prim had ardently challenged her at any opportunity and on any topic. In high-school she used to pull Stella out of the driver's seat anytime she tried to drive, tossing her to the pavement and chastising Stella for her awful driving and self defense alike. They had been co-presidents of the school's bible study group for two months, before being simultaneously kicked out. Stella would beat her GPA and Prim would break into her room, stealing anything not nailed down. Prim won a contest to visit Hawaii and Stella made out with other girls until she'd gotten mono and then gave it to Prim the week before the trip.
It had taken Stella years and a lot of therapy to really understand what had been so toxic in their relationship; the therapy had been a last ditch effort by her mother, after a particularly disastrous anniversary of Prim's death. Stella knew that the woman in front of her wasn't her Prim, was just another copy, she had seen the body, but this Prim was staring at her in that exact way and with that specific, totally fake, grin. The corners of her mouth pulled up just so, neutrally happy but very amused, like she had known all along what happened next. Stella used to practice it in the mirror. That longing, which had died with Primrose and been buried in church and therapy, was returned to her.
"Is this really you?" asked Primrose. "You have so many pretenders," and she stood up, dust falling away from her body like dry sand. It flicked away last from her lashes as she finally blinked, her eyes off of Stella for a microsecond. It was cold outside her gaze.
"I think I knew you were here," replied Stella.
"I have seen you here exponentially, but none of them knew me and fewer found me," she took a drink, the film of dust on the liquor’s surface not reacting, like a ghost, "and do you know how sad it is, to find that someone you hold so highly in your heart knows you in only, what, one in a thousand lifetimes? But, now you're here, and mine again."
"You aren't mine," said Stella, her thoughts held supernaturally still.
"We understand each other, regardless." She smiled, revealing perfect white teeth. "Please follow me, dearest." The wardrobe opened to reveal a staircase. The mirror face turned and Stella saw herself in the reflection. Taller by more than a head next to Primrose, dark hair unkempt and her clothes shabby. Her eyes were glassy and filled with something she didn’t recognize. The ends of her dress had torn, while the borrowed shoes were damp and uncomfortable. She looked like a chronically tired and messy woman.
Prim stepped into the wardrobe and through to a cold stone staircase, her gown trailing downwards behind her. Completely anachronistic to the warm room they had left above, here everything was damp. The walls were sealed with a waxy slime that oozed thickest from the higher bricks and grew darker in color as they spiraled down. Every step had large indentations where her feet set down, like people had been walking this pathway for hundreds of years. The walls closed in on them as they descended, narrower and tighter until Stella’s shoulders brushed against the sides. Brown wax clung to her.
Primrose was always just out of sight, her trailing dress kept Stella several steps behind. Her thin frame was perfectly suited to the tight space, like it had been built for her. Absently, the barest passing thought, Stella wondered why she wasn't frightened. She wasn't afraid, nor did she feel she could throw her arms around Prim and cry with the relief of seeing her again.
“You wore glasses. My you did.” said Stella; talking was the only thing she seemed capable of.
“I did as well. I got better, this place has miracles if you put your faith in it.”
“To me, you died.”
“So passive. You died as well,” Primrose paused, “I missed you.”
“I missed you.”
“Was it fire?”
“Yes,” Stella said slowly.
“I died. I… died,” Primrose rolled the word on her tongue. Testing it out.
“Years of therapy.”
“Mrs. Worlington?”
“No, I left town. Big city shrink.”
“I stayed. I stayed and walked by the ruin of your house every day knowing you were no longer within. That sounds like a much worse fate.”
“The city has to be worse. Thousands and thousands of people who don’t give a shit about you, packed tight like sardines. Also, it smells terrible. Like Weed, and Piss, and Gasoline.” This was a familiar rapport.
“And full of therapists who are not Mrs. Worlington and her lisp.”
“Mrs. Worlington never actually cared if you showed up, just marked your session as complete and billed it. You ditched every one, didn’t you?” The city, big enough and loud enough an organ to animate in the stead of her own beating red heart, removed and locked still away in a dream blue tote kept under the stairs of a house that didn’t exist.
They had come down to a landing, where Prim paused and looked at her again, trail gathered in one hand. The blazing heat returned. She was smiling eye to eye, the genuine article.
“I am coming to believe that you may be more yourself than when I knew you. Come on.” She gathered the train and took Stella’s hand, leading her down the last of the stairs. Her palm was clammy and rough fingernails were scraping against Stella’s hand where they touched.
The flight emptied them out onto uneven ground. It felt like outside air, moving idly and even colder than the stairs. The space around them was massive and covered in a light mist; barely visible above them was a kind of metal framework, like a spider’s web. The floor was concrete, but loose carpet tiles had been piled all around in the millions. If Stella had squinted, the scene might have resembled a black desert, the tiles forming dunes around them. Prim walked out onto the mounds, still leading. Hills spread out into the fog farther than she could see.
After several minutes, they crested the largest dune yet, and looked over a massive crowd. Thousands of Sodomites stood shoulder to shoulder. White flakes of salt pooled around their ankles. Every eyeless head turned to look at the pair, and with a casual flick of her wrist, Prim parted the sea. The ground itself sent debris retreating from her. The masses were scrambling over each other to keep clear of her. Some twisted and shook with what looked like fear.
“Come quickly, before Pharaoh catches us,” Prim said quietly.
At the very center of the amassed crowd was another hill of carpet tiles, upon which stood a long white table. Two places had been set at the table, crystal glasses and fine porcelain dishware that Stella knew from Prim’s mother’s house. It had always sat behind glass when Stella was over. A quite large serving platter and silver lid had been placed in the very center.
Prim led her to a chair, where Stella sat. A candle near her place setting had melted nearly all the way down. Wax had pooled under her forks.
“I lit those candles months ago, in anticipation of you, but they had never burned lower until this evening.” She walked to her setting and retrieved a knife. It was long and slender with a forked end. A carving knife. “I am still in love with you,” she said, hand on the cloche.
Slowly, with a gravity all its own, she revealed their course. It was Stella. Naked, foggy eyed, and younger, her hands and feet were bound with red ribbon. Stella barely saw her for how she had been locked into Prim’s eyes. The blue heart of flame that was burning at her edges. Prim took the girl’s head by the hair and dragged her limply across the table and right to Stella’s plate. The girl moaned at the rough contact.
“I love you. I love you and I missed you. I love you, I love you and I know— I know that you are so right for me.” Prim shifted her grip on the knife. The girl met Stella’s eyes. They were foggy with cataracts, like she had spent a decade staring at the sun. Under the fog, Stella saw her own horror looking back at her. Both of them were stuck, their bodies kept limp.
Prim tucked the knife under the tied girl’s chin and turned her face to the rapt crowd around them.
"For myself," she cut the neck in a fluid motion, watching the blood spill onto Stella’s plate and into her cup. She lowered the knife across the body, "and for you," she sliced open the skin low on the stomach and dropped the knife, reaching her hand into the new folds in the skin. Prim pulled tenderly on the flailing girl's organs, revealing the long red mass within. Straining against her ribbon ties, the girl let out a whinging breath. Intestine connected Prim's hand to her, a red string between them, as several feet emerged from the wound. Blood ran off the table. It was steaming in the cold air. Prim took the organ in both hands and released it like a dove into the air. The intestine flew only a few feet. It landed heavy in Stella’s lap.
Primrose slumped her back, the ceremony draining out of her, and she licked her fingers clean of the blood. It lingered on her lips. Mirroring the motion Stella touched her own lips, the last of her lipstick from the wedding coming off red and wet on her fingers. The organ's pulse was loud against her thighs. The poor girl looked vaguely at the mess on Stella’s thighs, but stayed still. Neither of them could move, or take any unpermitted action.
Opposite her, Prim stood up, whispering softly, "alright," which was what signaled the ocean of sodomites below the table to swarm. They came for the body, piling on top of it, piling over Stella. A thousand hands pulled at her, reaching for the meat in her lap. This was how the girl really died, being pulled apart. The long cut to her neck had quickened things, maybe it had made her fade faster, feel fewer of the hands that broke her down. Stella saw her face once more before it was taken, and thought that the girl might have been the right age to be Lue’s sister.
“I hope you see. That you understand.” Prim was barely audible over the noise.
The salt covered men chunked the girl, secreting away the remains and restoring the cleanliness of the church. A finger to one, a foot to another, pieces of skull and sodden innards were all separated and carried away by the indistinct figures. That they also tore at Stella, trampled her in their blind flailing for an ounce of flesh, was just as indigestion. It did not take long, under this crush of flesh and spreading gore, for her to be gracelessly overtaken.

MONO EXPLAINS STEVEN UNIVERSE’S TRAUMA IN AN EASILY DIGESTIBLE FORMAT BECAUSE I AM SICK OF YOU ALL AND I AM INCREDIBLY MAD.
You fuckers want your uwu soft happy “Steven goes to therapy and nothing bad happens :))))” you people need to understand not only basic story structure but the mindset Steven is in I CANNOT understand you people I don’t know how you don’t fucking get it.
I am going to explain JUST A BIT of Stevens trauma, (only from the crystal gems for now, I’ll get to Greg and the diamonds later. Maybe even make a masterpost on the crystal gems individually.)
1) guess who contributed to most of Stevens trauma? That’s right sweeties, the crystal gems. Literally every single one has either almost let him die or directly tried to kill him. These are facts. He also had the very fun role of solving literally everyone’s trauma. As someone who has been used as a therapist for her parents since as long as I can remember, trust me when I say it fucks you up. Not mention the disregard for his safety and oh, I don’t know, fucking comparing him to his mom in every conceivable way since he was fucking born guys. Like it or not they have always contributed heavily to his trauma.
Now don’t get me wrong, I ADORE the crystal gems. Every single one is dear to me and I know they love and care for Steven so so much. I know that they had no idea how to raise a human child, not mention function without their leader since the beginning, along with their own laundry lists of individual traumas. I understand it was infinitely difficult for them. As for lapis, peridot, and bismuth, they have come a long way, but that is directly because of Steven. They wouldn’t have helped solve their individual traumas and become incredible individuals without him. It’s very obvious they love him very much and did their best at the time, and genuinely only want the best for him now.
But that doesn’t fucking change and he fact that they traumatized a child. They helped directly cause his current mental state. They directly helped traumatize him and give him PTSD. Whatever they were going through at the time does not negate the fact that they scarred him for life, and it does not excuse it.
It doesn’t matter if they’ve changed. It doesn’t matter if they know better now. It doesn’t matter that they did their best. It does not matter that they love him. And it shouldn’t matter to Steven right now. Do you get that??? Do you understand that this boy has had attempts on his life since age 14???? Some of which from the crystal gems themselves????
My Fucking god don’t even make me get into how they treat him currently, or Greg, or the fucking diamonds. Just. Just please fucking understand?????
Look. Steven is currently dealing with no fucking support structure. From some of his parental figures, it can be argued he never had that in the first place. He has shut out his human half (for justified reasons) and he cannot find a place for himself with the crystal gems. He’s never been taught any sort of tools that he can use to cope with his current mental state. He is becoming more and more frantic by the day and he is going to have a mental breakdown. And trust me when I say those are not fun, and his actions completely make sense in this context.
Steven has been let down by every parental figure he has ever had, and now that he’s finally facing the personal ramifications, you people go “uwu this isn’t the same bapby who ate the ice cream!!!!! Future is too edgy!!!!!! It feels like bad fanfiction!!!!! Why can’t he just go to therapy and drink out of froggy mug and feel better???????? He’s toxic guys he’s just like his mom I’m so upset that my magic rock cartoon is exploring realistic themes!!!!! What the absolute fuck man.
I cannot fucking deal with this shit anymore man. I will get to Greg later, but yes I have a bone to pick with him as well. :)

The Wanderer, The Hunter, and The Painter, P1
The Wanderer
Megumi was already regretting this particular planeswalk. Her initial impression had been something soft and warm, like fallen leaves and honeyed dew-drops. It seemed like things were finally going her way for once.
But, her oh so reliable spark had veered her off just to the left (or what counted as left in a metaphysical place like the Blind Eternities), and she’d landed smack dab in the middle of a dark, shadowy glen in a darker, tangled woods. For the briefest of moments, she’d thought it was her Daddy’s home, Innistrad. But after an hour of concerned wandering, she’d realized that was a mistake. It certainly held the oppressive atmosphere, but the flowers were wildly colourful, and even the darker places held a sort of otherworldly beauty.
It seemed like a place she could relax for a moment, in peace.
Then, they had come.
Elves, but not like she’d seen them. They looked like elongated satyrs with frankly horrible, uncomfortably mask-like faces. She’d felt awful when the thought crossed her mind, she was definitely raised better than that.
Then the closest one had shouted something about ‘imperfection’ and shot an arrow at her. It’d went wide, thudding into a nearby tree—only for dark, thorny vines to grow from the tree and lash out at her. Megumi had barely escaped, running off into black woods.
Now her arms were scraped and bruised, and her legs tired. The tree’s seemed to edge in on her as she ran, closer and closer. Megumi was sure some even had faces. And in the distance, the strange hooved elves beat their way after like it was nothing. Too rattled to planeswalk, it was like between a rock and a hard place. Worse still, she didn’t know which was which.
Another arrow fly by, missing her entirely by digging into the ground in front of her. Megumi skidded to a halt just as a patch of brambles burst out from the ground, swiping at where she would have been had she not slowed herself. The hunting cries and heavy hoof-beats of her pursuers grew nearer and nearer. She focused, tried to escape, but felt an oppressive weight on her, like something keeping her down.
Then the sound stopped. The brambles seemed to freeze, or at the very least return to just being a simple bundle of plant-life. The silence lingered, leaving an eerie chill that felt almost as bad as the chase had. Things had gone so quiet; Megumi could hear her heart pounding in her chest and little else.
“Hello, young madame,” a voice said. Unfamiliar, but an accent she recognized at the very least. Megumi turned on her heels towards the voice, readying herself to run just in case.
It was another Soratami, like her. He looked to be around twenty, though his hair was wispy like someone far older. He wore forest green robes with a blue accent, and the traditional tattoos on his face and floppy ears was strikingly vibrant.
“Oh, h-hello,” Megumi said, still on edge. “Are you …?”
The question faltered and fell back into her throat.
“An enemy?” the Soratami suggested with a soft grin. “Oh no, not at all. I can assure you that.”
He bowed gently, left arm crossing over his chest like a butler. “I am known as Eisi. I … took care of those perfectionist pursuers of yours. You can consider me a friend.”
Megumi still hesitated. Something was off, but she couldn’t be sure if it was the strange plane, the tall elves, or the fact that they had been stopped without a sound. Still, she responded all the same.
“O … okay. It’s um, nice to meet you, Eisi. Where am I?”
“Shadowmoor,” he answered, the word seeming to radiate an intense energy. “A dark plane, but not dangerous if you’re careful. Shall you be needing my assistance?”
So, he’s a planeswalker Megumi thought to herself. Obviously, she added, though she wasn’t quite sure as to why. It felt right.
Megumi nodded, the oppressive atmosphere of the plane—Shadowmoor, she mentally corrected, easing up now that she’d met someone not trying to riddle her with arrows.
“Yes please, mister Eisi. If it’s not too much trouble.”
“No trouble at all, young madame,” Eisi said.
Then he snapped his fingers, and a lumbering behemoth lurched out of the woods behind him. A hulking, one headed beast covered in diamond-shaped scales. It was loaded up with saddle bags and cloth sheets, but under it all she could see it looked very much not alive, but not undead either. It looked … strange and shimmering.
“Oh, what’s that?” Megumi asked, fear forgotten as curiosity took hold. It looks like a binox, but it’s only got the one head, and no feathers. Would that make it a mono-ox? And why’s it so shiny, I—
The questions flooding her mind cut off as it trudged further forward, and she saw just what made Eisi’s pack-beast shimmer. It was made of crystal-green paint.
The surprise must have been clear on her face, since Eisi laughed at her. “I see you’re impressive by my … little piece of art. I’m a painter.”
“Cool,” Megumi said. She reached out to pet the thing. “Can I touch it?”
Further laughter from the painter. “Only if you don’t mind paint stains. He’s still fresh.”
The beast grumbled, as though offended at Eisi’s remark.
“Oh hush,” Eisi sighed and patted the beast on its flank. It trudged through the woods in response, leaving a slick crystal-green trail along the flattened ground … and Eisi’s hand. This time it was Megumi’s turn to laugh.
Ears fluttering as though he was quite annoyed, Eisi sighed and rubbed the paint off on his robes. “Well, young madame. Shall we be off?”
Megumi had already started following the painted beast. “Yup! And while we’re walking you can, like, tell me about stuff. Like this plane!”
It wasn’t a request and they both knew it.
“Well,” Eisi started with an exaggerated sigh. “Shadowmoor is an … interesting place, young madame. For one, it’s not truthfully Shadowmoor, at least by half. No, the plane is split in half, twixt light and shadow.”
Megumi nodded, making a small game of avoiding the wet paint-marks the lumbering beast left in its wake. “How’d that happen?”
Eisi shrugged. “I’ve little idea, and asking the locals about it would give away our little secret, so I’ve kept my questions to myself.”
“Makes sense. Those elves were spooky,” Megumi said. “I’m uh, wonder what their deal is.”
“Perfection, mostly. The elves here have a … desire for the perfect. Some take it too far. A shame, I imagine I’d get along with them otherwise.”
He’d get along with them if they were less murdery? I mean, yeah, obviously.
Megumi chuckled to herself at the thought, and it seemed like the darkened woods were already getting lighter.
There was silence for a moment, as the two made their way through the darkened woods. Megumi could feel a connection forming, like a spark of light inside her chest. It wasn’t a new experience in any sense, most planeswalkers she met made that same connection. It made her feel safe, like she could call out and they’d come running.
And with that connection, however, came curiosity.
“So, are you a painter?”
He raised an eyebrow. “Oh? What gave it away?”
“Well, I know enough Kamigawan to know Eisi means painter … or something like that. And I mean—” she gestured to the pack-beast, still dutiful tromping through the woods. The paint had dried by now. “There is that.”
“Ah, how observant little madame,” he said. “Would you like to see me paint?”
Megumi nodded so swiftly; her hair ended up obscuring her vision.
He smiled, and without breaking his stride reached out into one of the saddle-bags hanging off the beast, he drew a brush and string of small pots from within. The pots were painted in a rainbow of colours, each as vibrant as the man’s tattoos.
“So, little madame. What should I paint today?”
Megumi wracked her brain, thinking of what to ask for. Then it struck her.
“Oh, I know! Back on Kylem, it’s where I’m from, there was this one lady who fought by throwing this disc around. It was super cool! She had a dog made of water that would catch it and return it if it got stuck or something. Could you draw that?”
Eisi thought a moment, then without a word dipped his brush into one of the pots. In seemingly an instant, paint was flung about, floating and flowing through the air like streams of water. It was like his brush was a signal for where it was to go.
After only a few seconds, a not so living, but still very much breathing, ocean-blue dog had joined their little group, jumping around wildly and leaving splotches of blue in its wake.
Megumi’s eyes were sparkling. It wasn’t exact, but it was adorable.
“Aaah! It’s so cute! You’re very impressive, mister Eisi! I uh, I wanna pet it, but …”
He smiled, and waved a hand at the painted hound, small tendrils of light leaking out between his fingers towards it. The shiny paint seemed to dull, just a little.
“And finished. A little bit of magic to quick-dry. It makes it more fragile of course, but … it’s perfectly safe to touch now.”
Megumi had picked it up before he had even finished speaking. “Thank you, Mister Eisi! You really are a good painter, you know.”
He laughed. “Oh please, little Megumi. Flattery is nice, but it won’t ensure a free commission. More than this, of course.”
Megumi’s stride hitched a moment, as if something was wrong … but it past, the warmth in her core telling her it was fine. The dog licked at her face, but Eisi’s magic had kept that clean as well. She looked into its painted eyes, shimmering like beads.
“So, what brings you here anyway, little madame?”
The question seemed to echo through the woods, and the faint chill returned.
“I … it wasn’t on purpose. I don’t— I can’t, control my planeswalking. I just go. I can kinda … kinda steer it, a bit, but it’s really hard.”
“I see …” Eisi said. He stopped for a moment, as though in thought. The pack-beast continued trudging along. “Is that … frightening, little madame?”
Megumi hesitated before answering. “Yeah, it is.”
She hugged the painted dog a little closer. It didn’t always scare her, but when she ended up in situations like this, in the middle of a spooky forest. Being chased by horrifying elves or … worse, it made her almost wish she wasn’t a planeswalker at all.
Eisi reached out and patted her on the head gently. “Don’t fret, little madame. Though few would care to admit it, all planeswalkers feel that fear. The Blind Eternities is a scary place. Those who do not fear it are fools.”
There was an edge to his voice that sent a chill up Megumi’s neck, but it faded with what he said next.
“I’m sure you’ll get to control it eventually, little madame. A healthy understanding of fear lets you tackle any task, and you know more than most how scary it can be. Be proud of it.”
Megumi let the words sink in, and smiled. As she did, the shape of the forest seemed to change. Or maybe it had been slowly shifting as they talked, she could not be sure. But at one last growl of the pack-beast, light seemed to break through the woods.
The tree’s lost their frightening shape, and the flowers went from darker violets and reds to a softer pink and blue. Ominous overhanging branches seemed more like comforting, sun-dappled boughs. Everything felt warm and sweet, like a spring breeze.
“And welcome to Lorwyn. The other half of this divided plane. A much kinder place, if I do say so myself.”
Megumi couldn’t help but agree. She ran out into the clearing, letting her painted friend drop to the ground so it could chase her. Eventually it caught her, and the two fell to the warm grass. As they played, Eisi drew out a piece of paper and set to work painting.
------
Megumi wasn’t sure how much time had passed. After the painted dog had worn her down, Eisi had set out some tea and cookies and the two of them had a lovely snack break. They chatted of the different planes they’d both been on, and Eisi had shown her wonderful panoramic paintings of different planes.
Then she’d been shown a painting of Innistrad. Megumi had never been there, and a part of her didn’t want to, as scary as it had sounded.
But it was her Daddy’s home and … it made her feel wistful again. It made her miss her parents.
With a somber sigh, Megumi hopped up to her feet.
“I think it’s time for me to get going. It was fun though! It was lovely meeting you, mister Eisi.”
Eisi took a sip from his tea cup, his free hand ruffling the painted fur of the dog in the meanwhile. “That’s quite alright, little madame. I’m afraid I’ll be staying here, however. I’ve still some work to do. And, unfortunately, so shall the little dog. He’d not survive your trip.”
“I understand,” Megumi said, way sadder than she actually let on. “Hopefully we can meet again some day!”
“Hopefully,” he said. Then he reached into his sleeve and pulled out a rolled-up scroll. “But first, a token of our meeting. This, at least, can survive the sojourn between planes.”
Megumi took and unraveled it, and her eyes lit up. It was a beautiful painting of her and the dog, playing in the sun. She rolled it back up and returned it to her pack with a grand smile.
“Oh, thank you so much mister Eisi! I’ll never forget it!”
He smiled back, and that was that. Megumi took a deep breath, and walked away.

Note: If you thought something to the extent of “What about the Detective Pikachu Movie” or “I thought Castlevania had a Netflix show” those are all American and/or live-action, and aren’t in this list. I might make a list for those later however.
Anyways, the total comes out to 315, 154 anime and 161 manga. Now that would be one hell of a binge-watch/read. Imagine how long it’d take to play all the games!

EDH Deck Tech: Blind Seer Control
[you can see every deck tech here]
Hello & welcome to this weekly deck tech! This week we’re back to EDH with a very unique and spicy deck: Blind Seer Control. Now this deck is somewhat of a brew and is based around the odd card which is Blind Seer.
This card lets you pay 1U to turn a spell or permanent to the colour of your choice. Right off the bat, Cowardice, Willbreaker, Heartstone & Training Grounds can turn his ability into something very dangerous, but that’s not the fun part of it. Now that might seem like a weird ability, and it is, but oddly enough there has been QUITE a few cards with similar abilities printed over the years, enough to make a deck out of them; and here is the deck!
Colour Change
In the same way as Blind Seer, these cards let you change the colour of a spell or permanent; with cards like Sleight of Mind, Alter Reality, Glamerdye, Prismatic Lace, Quickchange, Sway of Illusion, Shifting Sky, Swirl the Mists, Distorting Lens, Prismwake Merrow, Scuttlemutt, Tidal Visionary, Vodalian Mystic & Trait Doctoring; you have plenty of ways to change the colours of things, or change what colour they affect.
Land Change
Not quite the same as Blind Seer’s ability, but similar enough that it fits well in the deck; there’s a wide array of cards that can change the land type of things, or change what lands some affect, plus there’s a few that can also affect the colour of cards at the same time so that’s a bonus! With cards like Mind Bend, Crystal Spray, Shimmering Mirage, Spectral Shift, Whim of Volrath, Unstable Frontier, Lingering Mirage, Sea’s Claim, Spreading Seas, Mystic Compass, Dream Thrush, Reef Shaman, Stormtide Leviathan & Tidal Warrior; you’re assured to always have ways to mess with your opponents’ stuff. Plus you can always play an Isochron Scepter for repeated uses of most cards previously mentioned.
the Goal
So you might’ve been wondering why go through the trouble of changing card’s colours or basic land types, and the reason is simple: there are quite a few very powerful cards that affect only certain colours; those cards are often low costed since they’re very situational, but in this deck you get to decide what it affects and what it doesn’t! So basically cards like Hydroblast, Blue Elemental Blast, Consign to Dream, Ether Well, Flash Flood, Gainsay, Hibernation, Jace’s Defeat, Jaded Response, Riptide, Chill, Douse, Dream Tides, Insight, Mana Maze, Well-Laid Plans, Wrath of Marit Lage, King Crab, Llawan Cephalid Empress, Tidebinder Mage, Acid Rain, Inundate, Volcanic Eruption & Wash Out. With those you have A LOT of ways to mess with your opponent stuff for relatively cheap, while not affecting your things. Just Douse & Blind Seer together will make your opponents miserable, imagine when you start bouncing their whole board afterwards...
Mana Base
I mean, it’s EDH, you need some form of mana acceleration, and since green isn’t part of the picture, the way to go are mana rocks. I’d recommend running cards like Sky Diamond, Coldsteel Heart, Eye of Ramos, Sapphire Medallion & Star Compass. The more the better to be honest; having a decent curve and smoothe gameplay is optimal!
Wrap-Up
That’s it for this deck tech! It’s very straight forward with it’s game plan; you want to control the board by changing other people’s cards’ colours & basic land types, then use your undercosted cards to affect the new legal targets. It’s kind of a confusing method, and probably that playing straight-up mono-blue control is more efficient, but this is sure to be more fun and unique! If I missed anything please let me know. I’ll see you all next week for a standard deck tech!
