In the Touhou verse Rirune receives a new hat, robes, and socks. They don't look much different from what he usually wears but it is always nice to have a back up. Also a compass. One that always points back to Chireiden

And in the modern verse Eri gets an art book of historic depictions of Japanese youkai. She doesn't really know anything about folklore but he always is talking about his kits-nay character so she got this for him.

Ah, he's giving Satori a TIGHT HUG, HE REALLY NEEDS A NEW BATCH OF CLOTHES. And new socks! ESPECIALLY the socks.

And... what's this? A compass to Chireiden...?

Back on the alt, Mitsu if cat=dog=mouse=rain and then mouse=cat canceling out rain=dog meaning cat=cat=taco so taco=cat and vice versa meaning cats are edible and bees cant fly because matrix=dog and mitsu=adorable so dog=dog. Therefore cat=dog=muse=rain :)

love how hazy and dreamlike this is — the contrast between arti and her pups being fully rendered while the scavs are left in shadow feels very appropriate to her state of mind.

having arti's backstory be done through artwork would also prevent all the ability for things to go off-script... when i got the cutscene where i was supposed to die as the blue pup i threw the pearl back, killed the scav chasing me and climbed out of reach

i honestly feel like it's a shame that Artificer's backstory was told through gameplay cutscenes rather than artwork. i mean the gameplay scenes weren't bad or anything, but the intro cutscene and dream sequences that Survivor/Monk got had such pretty art and were really impactful! so i tried to do it myself :D

(i wish every slugcat got illustrated dreams - imagine if we got to see Hunter and Spearmaster have dreams about NSH and Suns. or if we got to see Rivulet's dreams where they're just swimming or eating bubble fruit XD. and Saint could have lore cool lore stuff! it could really help characterize each scug)
