Where We Find Ourselves Again - Ch 16
Preview:
Adrien blinked at Bunnyx, where she stood at the entrance to the living room. An akuma? Now?
Marinette disentangled herself from Hugo. ‘Already?’
Bunnyx tapped her chin. ‘Well…that depends on your definition of already.’
Ugh, time travel.
But it was so soon. They’d only finished fighting Monsieur Rat maybe an hour ago – and now Hugo had just told them…told them….
Lila used him. She preyed on him like a mantis, then left him in pieces. Stole his heart, then stole the butterfly. Stole information about his parents.
His hands were already in fists again – but his anger came to a shuddering halt when he took in the look on Marinette’s face. All the blood had drained from her skin, her eyes locked on Bunnyx, some private conversation being held without words.
Understanding slammed into him like a truck.
This wasn’t just an akuma. This was the akuma – the one they’d been waiting for but hoping would never come – the one that brought about that terrible future Marinette had carried in her head for so long.
‘It’s happening, isn’t it.’ Her voice was small and low.
Bunnyx pursed her lips…then gave a slow nod.
‘Oh god, I –’ Her knees wobbled.
Adrien darted across the room, catching her before she could fall to the floor. ‘Marinette –’
‘This is it, Adrien. This is it. This is how it begins.’

How long can a Miraculous Holder stay transformed if they never used any of their powers?
An adult with a fully charged kwami could comfortably remained transformed for about a week with no problems, perhaps longer in some cases. If they enter a dormant state (like when future!Bunnyx was basically hibernating in one of the Egyptian artifacts in Timetagger) then they can remain transformed for decades and even centuries, though in a sleeping state.

Future Chrysabug: Private Lesson + Cheating and Jealousy (Chrysalis Vs the Marilix Date)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I've made new Cerisette/Chrysabug sketches. They still are adults.
First (tw: BDSM): Future Ladybug and Future Chrysalis/Future Hawk Moth have an intimate moment. A seductive Butterfly Cerise is going to learn a BDSM lesson to an unzipped and tied-up Ladybug.
Second: Marilix/Marialix/Alixnette/ladybunnyx Date (Marinette/Ladybug × Alix/Bunnyx). Ladybug and Bunnyx hang out together. A lovesick Bunnyx flirts with an exalted Ladybug.
Tumblr media
Meanwhile, Adult Chrysalis watches the two women in a beginning of sensual relationship. She is really and fully jealous of Bunnyx. The Rabbit is stealing her romantic date with Ladybug.
Tumblr media
So, she calls for an akumatized person in order to get rid of Bunnyx: She recruits Chris (turned into Timetagger).
"Timetagger. I am Hawkmoth..."
It happens in the same universe than these posts:

“Don’t you get it, Tikki?” Marinette wipes her face roughly, her eyes and nose aching with tears. “Even if we stop this Hawk Moth, it doesn’t matter! Someone else takes his miraculous! We don’t free Nooroo or Duusu! And I have to keep doing this forever!”
.
After Timetagger, Marinette's hopes for her future are crashing down all around her. But for some reason, Chat Noir doesn't feel the same despair.

A fan may have spotted Lila real name
I like to watch Miraculous content on Instagram sometimes, and I've had the pleasure to find a very interertsing post on Miraculous Ladybug about what Lila's real name could be. Here it is :
Tumblr media
I'm not gonna talk about the "Lila is Marinette's half sister from Tom's side" theory because while it could be a nice plot twist and explain why Lila got so close to Sabine outside of a future plot to harm Marinette, it could also be a terrible and useless revelation for the narrative.
But I defintly beleive in the theory that Marina is Lila's real name. Why else would that name be tagged on Lila's secet lair walls in the catacombs ? And being spelled by one of Timetagger tags ? Knowing that in the script of the Timetagger epsiode, the akuma proclaimed loud and clear that the future Hawkmoth was the "woman he loves", while seeing later in the same episode that a young Chris (the one who would be akumatized in Timetagger in the future) would have a crush on Lila

Why Bunnyx did not intervene?
The entire point of Bunnyx is to be the Last Line of Defense towards World-ending/Universe-ending threats, right?
So she intervened against Cat Blanc (Infinite Destruction, so it makes sense - although she left the majority of the fight to Ladybug) and against Timetagger (a timeline-changing akuma, it makes sense too)... but why she did not intervene when Felix gave the Miraculi to Gabriel or when Gabriel was about the make his Wish???
Even if one is to argue that the Strikeback Event needed to happen so Bunnyx could exist, the entire destruction/re-creation of the Universe through Gabriel's Wish should the very thing that Bunnyx should have intervened to prevent...

Lila and the future
So going by Timetagger and the season 5's finale, Lila is gonna be the miraculous holder of the Butterfly for many years all the way to adulthood.
That's scary.
Also means that she's gonna be even more terrifying than Gabriel.
Gabriel had the miraculouses before Adrien was even born, yet when he finally used them to try to save Émilie, he barely last a year with it before dying, even if the year is shown in 5 seasons.
I must wonder if that means we'll get to see the characters in adulthood apart from Alix.
I would kind of want to see it.
Thing is, even if people discover her identity, she can always discard it and create a new one, which could possibly explains why as an adult she still hasn't been found yet.
Also, while we see her with multiple families, we see her with one lair so far. I must wonder if she'll have several to cover her tracks.
She is good at that.
She's an actress, she plays her role and then moves on to the next one when she's done her part.
She can be anyone, she can be anywhere, and they'll never really know who she is probably. Heck, we might never know who she is or why she's like that.

Is this on beta.charactet.ai, so yes what's the name of the AI? If not, where did you chat with them?
I'm asking this question because of this post: https://www.tumblr.com/plumsaffron/721889334318465024/recently-i-heard-some-post-of-lila-being-witch?source=share (I can't comment because there is going something wrong with that)
Pls let me know when you've answered my question.
Tumblr media
So pretty much you are only talking through them. It's good for roleplaying or if you don't want to see your discord name consistently or something else.

Fun challenge idea: You have to make a 26 episode season of ML using the episodes from all 5 seasons, that goes from beginning to end of the series so far. (Operate under assumption that two parters are just one longer episode, that way it burns less episodes)
The episodes I feel have to be used are:
Origins, Heroes Day, Miracle Queen, Risk/Strikeback, Finale (Duh)
Sapotis, Anansi, Style Queen, Malediktator (S2 Heroes Important)
Volpina + Collector (Fu + HM)
Feast, Representation (Important Backstory shit)
Those are what O had off the top of my head.
Ah. Hm. Yeah the openings/finales of every episode is needed. And at least the Main 5 Hero Debuts. A lot of the Zodiac Heroes would get shafted, but I think we could have the Luka, Kagami and Alix episodes. So uh.
Origins
Pharoh(establishes how old the Miraculous are)
Volpina
The Collector
Sapotis
Queen's Battle(we're condensing the trio)
Anansi
Heroes' Day
Chameleon (Lila's return and shows she's being a threat)
Feast
Desperada (Luka's Hero Debut)
Miraculer (more on Chloé, whether you want redemption or downfall. First example of someone rejecting Akumatization)
Ikari Gozen (Kagami's Hero Debut)
Timetagger (Bunnyx appears)
Chat Blanc(Establishes Mari's trauma re: Identities)
Ladybug (Lila being a threat again plus if they wrote it better could set up Sentiplot)
Miracle Queen (My beloathed)
Gang of Secrets (Alya knows now)
Wishmaker(Luka knows now)
Queen Banana (make this Zoé's intro + her replacing Chloé)
Gabriel Agreste (Make this Felix's debut. Establishes him/his knowledge and skill, his future plans)
Risk/Strikeback
Destruction(Gabe getting Cataclysmed)
Emotion (Felix's whole plan. Maybe combine this with Pretension?)
Confrontation/Collusion/Revolution(Combining these three because they're basically a long episode even if they're not officially a multi=parter)
Confirmation/Recreation

This is an ML salt post, particularly about Lila Rossi. If you are actually excited about Lila being the main villain in future season(s), this post isn't for you, I just need to rant. A lot.
I hate Lila Rossi. I hate her with a burning passion. Literally every episode where she shows up, my hatred for this character will manifest in me saying "I hate her" the moment she opens her mouth, followed by seething throughout every moment she spends onscreen.
In prior seasons, this wasn't much of an issue--she'd show up for a couple episodes and then she'd disappear 90% of the time, so I could usually just focus on literally anything else in the show. With season 5, however, she started showing up much more. I knew it was coming, of course--the foreshadowing that she would be the successor to Hawkmoth has been visible since season 3, and it was announced that he'd be gone after this season. But if the show had ended at season 5 as originally intended, butterfly!Lila could have been a theoretical problem for adult!Ladybug and adult!Chat Noir in 10 years. But since the powers that be have decided to have the show continue past Gabriel Agreste, Lila is a problem now and will be a problem at least until Chris Lahiffe is a teenage boy, if "Timetagger" is any indication. And we, the audience, will be forced to suffer through all of it.
Why, though, do I hate the idea of Lila being the main villain? I was fine with having Gabriel in the villain seat for five seasons despite him being a terrible father and manipulative git, after all. With Gabriel, there was a particular humanity to him that made him interesting--this entire show is about love and Gabe's love was so overwhelming and myopic and self-serving that he resorted to villainy while convincing himself that he was secretly the hero all along, sacrificing everything (even his morality) for the woman he loved. He used his love as an excuse to justify the harm he caused Paris and his very own son. As he continually reached for forbidden means to get what he wanted, his dreams ballooned in scope--he'd defied the odds when he'd married above his station, he'd defied the odds when he'd become a world-renowned designer, he'd defied the odds when he found the miraculous and created the perfect son--and so it became all too natural for him to fight the impossible fight as Hawkmoth because he deserved to win this too. And the whole time, unbeknownst to either of them, he's fighting against the son who he's been neglecting and controlling in his fight to save someone who never wanted to be saved? That stuff is fascinating.
Lila, though? She's got none of that complexity. She's a consummate liar who hates the protagonists and literally nothing else. In other shows, she'd be the transfer student who shows up for an episode, gets exposed as a fraud by the end of that episode, and then literally never be seen again. This show, however, has Lila overstay the welcome that her character archetype is built for and instead be a recurring problem. And, because a liar can only get away with lying if the surrounding characters don't know she's lying, Lila is made untouchable by the plot. Other villainous characters have some plot immunity to their evilness--Chloe, obviously, has the automatic win condition of demanding her father to get her out of trouble whenever she wants. But Lila's plot immunity comes from an inexplicable ability to manipulate everyone around her (besides our main protagonists, who are forced to only cry wolf). She makes all the supporting cast love her without help, she does so even to characters we'd expect to know better. When she first showed up, her lies weren't even good and still she gets away with her reputation in tact basically every time. The one time where she does get exposed to everyone, she gets to have an easy redo by making up a completely new identity to try again. She's a Villain Sue. And her very presence weakens the story she's in.
Lila only exists because the writers decided to make an absolute hate sink. They absolutely succeeded in doing so. And frankly, that's a problem. Most of the time, if you're going to have a character in a show for any length of time, they should be likeable on some level. They could be sympathetic or competent or proactive or even just have a personality that's fun to watch, but the audience shouldn't feel like the character is a waste of viewing time. Lila isn't someone the audience can identify with, her competence is largely in name only (I will allow that her manipulative skills during season 5 are stronger, but her ludicrously bad prior lying and the unexplained nature of her sudden hypercompetence now aren't nearly enough to make me forgive her here). Lila's sometimes doing things behind the scenes, sure, but she has the laughably petty objectives of "be famous" and "ruin classmate's life" and I cannot take her actions towards achieving these goals seriously as a bit villain, let alone a primary antagonist. And--worst of all--her voice is extremely annoying. I will suffer through a myriad of things, but I can only listen to nails on a chalkboard so long before need to leave the room.
And this might be a bit of a hot take, but honestly? I don't think Lila was even necessary in the first place. In episodes like "Volpina" or "Oni-Chan," she could have been replaced with Chloe (our original mean girl who's clingy with Adrien--she might not be my favorite character either, but at least she's funny). I'm positive that the plot of "Catalyst" and "Miraculer" could have been reworked to happen without Lila's involvement without much effort. The entire subplot of Lila being Adrien's modelling partner was more about Gabriel controlling his son--it could have been easily about forcing Adrien to be alone instead of forcing him to be with someone he didn't like. The fact that Lila shows up so little in the first four seasons just goes to prove how unnecessary she is. She only becomes important in season 5 because the writers now know that they need to prepare for a new supervillain to fill Gabriel's shoes after he leaves--and she's the only one who comes anywhere close to fitting. So, suddenly, she's being far more active than she ever was (almost half of her total appearances are in season 5 alone), but her motivations are less clear than ever, so I'm left assuming that this hollow character must still have the hollowest of motivations--popularity, power, getting back at the kids who rebuffed her... after having 5 seasons of truly delicious drama, why on earth would I want to turn the worst thing about those 5 seasons into main course?
I know I am far from being alone in hating Lila Rossi's character. There are literally thousands of fics tagged with "Lila's Lies Are Exposed" because so many readers want to see her be punished for her actions. I'm actually not really a fan of these--I don't take joy in seeing Lila being taken down. I want her to disappear from the narrative entirely. If the current state of United States politics has taught me anything, it's that that watching a terrible person get their comeuppance is never as satisfying as you think it will be because that terrible person will keep popping up and keep being terrible and keep forcing you to think about them. The best possible punishment I can think of for Lila is to act like she's just an OC made from some background character that never mattered in the first place--and then never have to think about her existence in the show again.
I was happy to watch the first 5 seasons of Miraculous Ladybug. I wish it had only been those 5 seasons (side note: Chat deserved to go up against his father in the final battle. I get that he couldn't since the mandate for more seasons requires the identities to be intact, but this was the point in the narrative when the reveal was meant to happen and it has weakened the story to move it elsewhere). I haven't decided to not watch season 6 at this point, but knowing who I will have to deal with in every episode? It's making it very difficult for me to want to continue any further.

Rewatching ML Season 3
Chameleon: Adrien pulls away from Lila. He’s very nice to her, but tells her not to lie to him. Akumatised Lila pretends to be mean Adrien. Chat Noir yet again sacrifices himself for Ladybug. Only Marinette and Adrien don’t fall for Lila’s lies. Adrien sit next to Marinette, but the whole class ends up sitting as they used to.
Animaestro: “Ladybug PV” as in-universe film. Marinette, why are you stupid enough to work with Chloé.
Bakerix: —
Backwarder: Alix says Adrien hates lies. Marinette giving Adrien the prescription is hilarious. So is Gabriel having a temporary villain lair in the train toilet.
Reflekdoll: Poor Juleka. So now Gabriel doesn’t care about Nathalie risking her life. Marinette and Adrien look cool as Lady Noire and Mister Bug. I think the episode is a little too critical of Chat Noir.
Weredad: Gabriel Akumatised a baby again. Marichat scenes. Have Adrien got only twenty peas to eat? His meal is ridiculous. Maybe he is forced to diet, because apparently he eats far too much cheese. Chat Noir says loneliness and isolation are the worst.
Silencer: —
Onichan: Calm down, Marinette, Adrien is kind and a little naive, but he isn’t stupid. Gabriel also thinks Adrien’s too naive. Adrien is fed up with girls fighting over him, but is touched by Kagami’s love for him.
Miraculer: Ladybug should listen to Chat Noir’s advice about talking to Chloé. Ladybug is too focused on defeating the villain, ignoring the emotional aspect. Chloé resists the Akuma. Chat Noir is hit with the Cataclism twice. Chloé is Queen Bee again.
Amnesio: Ladybug and Chat Noir lose their memory, detransform in front of each other and quickly assume they’re a couple, and they kiss. Adrien says he wouldn’t hide his identity from his girlfriend.
Desperada: Ladrien scenes. Adrien, where has your hair gone? Ladybug laughs at Adrien/Aspik’s jokes, but not Chat Noir’s. Adrien, what do you mean you’ve been trying for MONTHS.
Startrain: In the train Marinette sleeps on Adrien’s shoulder.
Kwami Buster: Adrien suspects that Marinette is Ladybug. Master Fu says using too many Miraculouses at once makes you mad (I see you, Monarch). Marinette as Mouse is cute, Adrien as Mr Banana is funny. Marinette tricks Chat Noir into believing that she can’t be Ladybug.
Feast: Master Fu’s backstory. Adrien’s worried about Nathalie.
Gamer 2.0: Chat Noir sacrifices himself.
Stormy Weather 2: There’re a lot of scenes from previous episodes. Marinette admits Adrien is her friend now. Nathalie admits she’s fallen in love with Gabriel and started caring about Adrien. Adrien recalls good moments with his father, but one of the memories is based on a lie (his father giving him the scarf). Plagg says Gabriel in the inside is either soft or rotten and while Adrien wants to believe the former, the latter is likely true. The second Christmas episode must have been before this episode.
Ikari Gozen: Kagami seems autistic. Chat Noir seems impressed with Kagami using the Dragon Miraculous. Adrien told Kagami that Marinette is his friend.
Timetagger: Ladybug and Chat Noir are bored and fed up with fighting Mr Pigeon for the 24th time. I wonder if Timetagger comes from their timeline or alternate timeline. Frankly speaking, I don’t treat those revelations about the future seriously. (#NoorooDeservesBetter) What’s more, Chat Noir and Nathalie say that future isn’t set in stone. From Cat Blanc we know that Bunnyx can travel to the future moments that ultimately become an alternate, non-existent timeline, so this is how I see the future that Timetagger comes from.
Party Crusher: Marinette, why are you so stupid. Adrien is surprised to see Marinette, but smiles when she still pretends to be Marino. Gabriel: ‘Joy? What’s going on in my house?!’
The Puppeteer 2: It’s both funny and sad that Adrien starts to believe that Marinette doesn’t like him at all. Adrien is just as silly as Marinette. Marinette kisses Adrien. Short Ladrien moment. Adrien tells Marinette that the girl he loves doesn’t like his jokes either.
Cat Blanc: The problem stems from the relationship between Adrien and his father. Adrien still loves him, but Gabriel is ready to use him to achieve his goal. This episode also shows that though Adrien is very nice and as Chat Noir he’s a carefree joker, he also has a lot of pain and anger inside. Additionally, reveals full of angst only weakens our superheroes.
Félix: Félix is fun to watch, he’s smart but emotionally unstable. He must be very lonely. Nathalie: Let’s Akumatise some teenagers.
Ladybug: Adrien says Marinette is fantastic. He stands up for Marinette when Lila accuses her of cheating. Marinette would’ve been Akumatised, if Nathalie hadn’t felt bad. Gabriel tells Nathalie not to use the Peacock Miraculous, but she does it behind his back. The Senti-Ladybug plot is a bit creepy in the context of season 5. Adrien forces Lila to withdraw the accusation.
Heart Hunter: Adrien likes Marinette with her hair down. She leaves him and Kagami alone after they’ve gone for ice-cream. She’s too distracted and makes a mistake that will result in loosing Master Fu. Chat Noir flirts with Ryuko. Chloé is jealous and joins Hawk Moth. Adrien and Kagami kiss.
Miracle Queen: Adrien says he wasn’t ready for the kiss and Kagami is hurt. Ladybug becomes the guardian of the Miraculouses. Will she forget everything in the future too?
Chris Master: I can’t stand that terrible old man in a red suit.
Miraculous World: New York: It looks like fanfiction a bit? Like everything’s a little over the top. The worst thing is Chat Noir accidentally killing a girl, it’s just so unnecessarily traumatic. It looks like this is his punishment for being dishonest with Ladybug. And with him sacrificing himself every other week and having some experience in being hit with the Cataclysm (Miraculer), I think he’d rather Cataclysm himself than an innocent girl.

I keep hoping that Lila actually didn't see Ladybug destransform into Marinette, and that she was too busy trying to get the Butterfly miraculous to really see the outcome of Bug Noire victory over Gabriel after he lost the butterfly miraculous
Because it would be too easy for Lila to win if she knew that Ladybug = Marinette. We wouldn't see Timetagger coming from a future where Ladybug and Chat Noir are adult and are still fighting Crysallis if they were against somoene who now who Ladybug is.
She could win in a 45 minutes episodes instead of a whole season if she really knew ^^' ... wait doesn't Miraculous have a special planned for summer 2024 that is titled "the end of Ladybug" which was confirmed to happen after season 5 ? who know if this won't be a Chat Blanc like episode where Chrysallis would actually win because she discovered Ladybug's secret identity during the finale of season 5, and Bunnix will have to ensure that at the very least, Lila doesn't discover that Marinette is Ladybug at the end of that special
But the idea of Ladybug unknowingly living in the same house as Chrysalis and then parallelling the Adrien and Gabriel thing is still a great idea :)
Sorry I got you scared like that ^^' but with how much many of Marinette's loved ones are the kind who can easilly fail her if they are manipulated and influenced by Lila, as we've seen in epsiodes such as Ladybug, Adoration, Revelation, and Confrontation, I cannot help but imagine the worse T_T
And there's also the fact that both Lila's disguise in the season 5 story board of Re-creation, and one season 5 unused character model for one of Lila's desguise and fake identity were blond, but the disguise that we're currently associating with Iris Verdi was changed so she would have blue eyes contacts and midnight black hairs wig instead, and I can't help but wonder if this change was random or fully calculated.
Or the fake that the ML writting team confirmed that season 6 would hurt us more than season 5 T_T

that scene in Timetagger where Chat asks if he and Ladybug are like [heart sign]

Obviously Bunnix was talking about the Love...uh.. Shape and we all knew that from the start but like
Seeing her mention it vaguely here and giggling at it in anticipation for it to happen AND ACTUALLY SEEING IT HAPPEN IN REAL TIME are two wildly different things and I--
