REAL early seasons supernatural back when it was monster of the week and embracing this kind of gothic Americana stuff was so awesomeeeee. I wish there had been more like weird local haunted houses or cursed cornfields or whatever (I’m not American so I don’t know the deep lore pls fill in with appropriate Midwest American myths). They should have gone to Appalachia and done a super duper scary episode about the old gods or whatever. Like the angels and demons and stuff is fine especially when they get super weird and religious with it. But. Gothic Americana I miss u come home
I know, some of my favorite episodes are the ones based on urban legends. I'm from ohio and there's definitely lots of haunted places around here and local legends ect. like don't get me wrong I love cas, love the angels, but I kinda miss when the show was more...I guess kinda lower stakes (as in there was no heaven yet and sam and/or dean hadn't died and been brought back to life and no one knew about the true vessel stuff) like in the first two seasons. I know they can't do monster of the week stuff forever but the USA is huge there's so much more they could have done. here I am crying over the potentially lost plotlines of a show with 15 seasons DON'T MIND ME.

JD Vance (R-Ohio) is continuing to make misogyny part of his brand, and his critics don’t think it’s going to work out well for him when women head to the polls.
Donald Trump’s running mate on Thursday mocked the intelligence of Vice President Kamala Harris, who sat down with CNN for her first major interview since becoming the Democratic nominee.
“BREAKING: I have gotten ahold of the full Kamala Harris CNN interview,” Vance wrote on social media, alongside a well-known 2007 video of a Miss Teen USA contestant struggling through an answer.
The attack was ugly on several levels. The woman in the video, Caitlin Upton, was widely ridiculed at the time, and later said she became severely depressed and considered suicide as a result.
Vance’s post received support from Donald Trump Jr., who shared it and added, “This is total Fake News from JD. We all know that Kamala isn’t that articulate.”
“JD Vance is really bad at this, isn’t he?” conservative commentator Charlie Sykes said of the attack.
“Apparently he doesn’t know that 52-55% of the electorate is female. Let’s not tell him,” commented George Conway, a prominent attorney formerly married to Trump ally Kellyanne Conway.
Another social media user wrote, “I am dumbstruck that this degree of misogyny is held by a candidate for the Vice Presidency. The GOP hates women, clearly and with gusto.”

Seeing the difference in coverage (news media vs social media) on the Feb 3rd train derailment in East Palestine, Ohio, USA on and all the issues caused by the incident, I want to see something;
The incident summed up (and there may be even more I missed):
train carrying 150 cars, twenty of which contained hazardous materials, derailed due a failure of a wheel bearing, due to poor inspection because inspections were cut from 3 minutes per train to 90 secs per train. (Remember the railroad strike? Yeah. Part of what they wanted, in addition to better conditions, was more time to inspect trains and to get faulty parts fixed. They were refused, and now we're here.)
the derailment (of 50 cars) caused a fire which threatened to make a car(s) with the vinyl chloride explode, so a controlled release (burn) of the vinyl chloride (toxic, flammable gas) was done to prevent this
residents within a 1 mile radius were evacuated beforehand
the event resulted in contamination of the air/water and mass deaths of animals like fish and chickens
residents were told it's safe to return home a week after the evacuation, and found their pets dead; water smells wrong; air smells and/or burns their eyes
People miles away are having the same issues with animals dying (schools of dead fish in water, livestock sick/dying) and water contamination
The chemicals are contaminating the Ohio River Basin (which is more than just the Ohio River, and effects/includes KY, WV, TN, IN, OH, and parts of IL, PA, VA, and NC) and could potentially also lead to the whole Mississippi River Watershed being contaminated. (that's like, 40% of the continental United States and starts to touch into Canada.)
That all said,
Please reblog if you vote so we can get a larger sample size!
Many think the Railroad company (and the government, because they sided with the railroad company in ending the strike) are trying to cover this up in the news as much as possible, and that most coverage is coming from social media (specifically TikTok) and I want to see just how true that is.
I'm not not kidding when I say I have people IRL, who do keep up with the news, who never heard about the derailment at all until I told them just a couple days ago. It doesn't look good.

PWHL 2024 Draft Prospects Sarah Fillier & Cayla Barnes Speak to the Media
You can watch the video here! Give them a like, a nice comment, a view. It helps support them making this kind of material available for us all.
Transcription is under the break.
[Introductions]
CAYLA BARNES: Hi, I’m Cayla Barnes.
I just finished up my 5th year season at Ohio State. Had a great year there. I’ve played internationally for Team USA for a number of years now. Just really looking forward to this draft. This is something we all dream of and now that we have the opportunity to be in this position, I think we’re all really grateful and just looking forward to the opportunity. So super excited to be here.
[For the record, when she says "for a number of years" it's probably because she rightfully lost count. She's been playing for Team USA in World Championship games consistently since her first U18 one 2015. She was also notably part of the 2018 USA Olympic team that took home the gold.]
SARAH FILLIER: Hi, everyone. I’m Sarah Fillier.
I just finished up my extended Princeton career a couple weeks ago. Super excited for the upcoming draft. I’ve player internationally at four World Championships now and the 2022 Olympics. And having the opportunity to come out of college at the perfect time and transition into this draft is super special and kind of a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
But thanks for everyone who set up this call and thanks to everyone for being here. Covering women’s hockey is a huge part of its success and its buzz this year, so I’m excited to the next 20 minutes.
[In case you weren't already aware, Canada won Gold at the 2022 Olympics. So both these women are Olympic gold medalists. And they aren't the only ones in the draft pool this year either! Something to think about when you hear people talking about how much talent is fighting to get into the league this year.]
-----------------------
-----------------------
FOR SARAH: WHAT DO YOU EXPECT THE TRANSITION WILL BE LIKE FROM THE COLLEGIATE GAME AND THE INTERNATIONAL GAME TO THE PROFESSIONAL LEAGUE?
FILLIER: Yeah, that’s a great question. I think it will take a little bit of a- It will be a little bit of a learning curve. I kinda have a little bit of experience from going from international and Olympic game play back to college. So I feel like I have a bit of experience in changing levels. But this will definitely be an uncharted territory for sure. But I think the biggest thing I’m going to have to adapt to is the physicality of the league. I think if you’ve watched any games this year that’s one thing that’s kinda of ramped up and I don’t think it’s going away. So that will be one thing to definitely look for.
-----------------------
-----------------------
FOR SARAH: YOU’RE WIDELY REGARDED AS THE TOP PICK IN THIS DRAFT – HOW DOES IT FEEL TO BE RECOGNIZED AND HAVE THAT DISTINCTION?
FILLIER: Yeah, I mean, it’s what you dream of. It’s an honor to even be in recognition of the first 6 picks and alongside names like Cayla here and people with really storied careers so far. It’s an honor to be even named in those short lists. But to go first overall would be a complete dream come true. I grew up watching NHL drafts and watching those moments for those guys has always been so special for them and their families. No matter where I go I’m sure it’ll be a moment I’ll remember forever and something really special to share with my family.
-----------------------
-----------------------
FOR CAYLA: DO YOU THINK THE PHYSICALITY WILL TRICKLE DOWN INTO THE COLLEGIATE GAME IN ORDER TO PREPARE PLAYERS FOR COMPETITION OF THAT NATURE?
BARNES: I think that’s a really good question. You know, I’ve talked about it with my coaches a little bit and I hope to see it trickle down a bit. I think it would be a missed opportunity to not start incorporating that into college so players can start acclimating to that and become more prepared to enter the league. If your first time interacting with physical play like that is when you get into the league I think that’s something that’s gonna be a big adjustment for players, like Sarah said. So I think hopefully as the years go on and the physicality continues in the PWHL that it does trickle down to the NCAA to help prepare players.
-----------------------
-----------------------
FOR CAYLA: BOTH YOU AND HANNAH BILKA HAD A GREAT CAREER AT BOSTON COLLEGE AND THEN MOVED TO OHIO STATE AND WON A NATIONAL TITLE. DO YOU THINK THAT BOLSTERED YOUR DRAFT STOCK?
BARNES: Yeah, I think it was a great move for me Bilka both. I think we came here with a certain vision in mind and we got a lot better in the process. I think definitely being able to play big minutes and just get better each and every day, that was something that we both grew a lot this year. And I know myself I grew a lot this year and had one of my better seasons that I’ve had in college. So I think I definitely had a good year and it’s helped me leading up to the draft here.
-----------------------
-----------------------
FOR SARAH: IT’S UNLIKELY YOU WILL BE DRAFTED 5TH OR 6TH AND GET TO PLAY WITH MARIE-PHILIP POULIN, NATALIE SPOONER, SARAH NURSE. WHAT WILL IT BE LIKE TO FACE THEM ON A REGULAR BASIS?
[For anyone who is still getting familiar with all the big names, those are all top Canadian players that Fillier has played with before at the 2022 Olympics and during World Championship games.]
FILLIER: Yeah, that’s a great question. They’re all tremendous players and people who I’ve tried to follow in the footsteps of a little bit in my national team experience with Hockey Canada. I think it will be, for sure, motivating. I mean we’re great friends, you know, outside of hockey. And I’d love to come to the league and really prove myself as being a player in that sort of category as well and kind of find my identity as a pro hockey player and hopefully a very successful one. But I think playing against household names like that is motivating and I think when you watch people play against them this year you definitely saw that motivation in people.
-----------------------
-----------------------
FOR CAYLA: YOU’VE PLAYED FOR THE NATIONAL TEAM FOR A LONG TIME AND SAW WHAT PLAYERS WENT THROUGH TO FORM THIS LEAGUE. HOW DOES THAT EXPERIENCE GIVE YOU PERSPECTIVE ON JOINING THE PWHL?
BARNES: You know, I think one word comes to mind, is just Grateful, for this opportunity, for the work that people have put in to create stability in this league, and to give younger players like me and Sarah this opportunity. You know, I’ve seen a lot that’s gone on in the past—you know, leagues folding or things not going as planned—and those players you play with on National teams not getting those opportunities. Just getting an opportunity like this, where you know there’s stability, where players have put in the work, and staff has put in the work to create an environment like this, it’s just exciting.
-----------------------
-----------------------
WHO ARE THE PLAYERS YOU ARE LOOKING FORWARD TO PLAYING AGAINST IN THE PWHL? (OR MAYBE LEAST LOOKING FORWARD TO PLAYING AGAINST?)
FILLIER: I think I have two people. First I would say Maggie Connors [Toronto #22]. She’s one of my best friends from Princeton and we love playing together and we’ve played together in Summer leagues and stuff. So it’d be really cool to be on a pro stage as like best friends being able to face off against each other in different jerseys for the first time in a long time.
I think my first answer for sure would be Marie-Philip Poulin [Montréal #29]. She’s obviously been a huge role model in my hockey career and I’ve had the chance to play with her in past World’s and see how she operates and how she’s always trying to be the best player in the world, even though I think a lot of us would agree that she’s already there. It would just be cool to be in a professional league playing someone who I’ve kind of idolized growing up. I think it would be a surreal moment to realize I kind of made it as a pro athlete. Yeah. It’d be very cool to play against her.
BARNES: I think one person that comes to mind is Alex Carpenter, she’s on New York [#25]. She’s a BC alum, I’ve looked up to her for so many years. I’ve gotten the opportunity to know her through training and being on National teams. She’s one of the hardest players to defend. She’s strong, she’s fast, she’s so talented and smart. At USA camps it’s always fun, but hard to play against her, so looking forward to playing against her in a pro stage and seeing what that’s like.
-----------------------
-----------------------
AND FOR CAYLA: WHAT CAN PEOPLE EXPECT FROM A PLAYER LIKE HANNAH BILKA?
BARNES: Bilka is, kinda like, shot out of a cannon. She’s very- She’s quick, she’s fast, she’s sporadic. Super creative. You’ll get a lot of creativity out of her. And she can put the puck in the net. So she’s a super special player. She works really hard and any team would be super lucky to have her.
-----------------------
-----------------------
SEEING PLAYERS FORM NON-TRADITIONAL MARKETS AND ALSO EUROPEAN COUNTRIES, WHAT DOES THIS TELL YOU ABOUT THE FUTURE OF THE WOMEN’S GAME?
BARNES: I think it just shows how women’s hockey is trending. It’s trending upward and players are getting better and players are coming from everywhere nowadays. So, you see it at Women’s Worlds, teams are getting better, games are close. It’s amazing to see.
When I was growing up there wasn’t a lot of women’s hockey where I grew up. Same with Hannah. Texas? Not a hockey state. But now we can look back and being older now there’s more hockey, it’s growing, more girls want to play. And now being able to see the PWHL I think it’s skyrocketing even more. It’s great to see people coming from everywhere in the U.S., everywhere in Canada, Europeans coming over. I think it makes the game that much stronger.
I think it means everything. It’s a huge honor and privilege to be here. Like I said, it doesn’t go unnoticed the amount of work people before us have put in. And it’s important to give credit where credit is due. You know, I’m here because of what they did. And I have this opportunity because of those founders. I’m just super grateful for that. Now girls have a dream to look to and actually see, physically, whereas when we were younger that was just a shot in the dark, a hope, for one day. So that’s just really exciting for the younger generations.
-----------------------
-----------------------
FOR SARAH: YOU SPENT SOME TIME THIS SEASON PLAYING WING, BUT DO YOU SEE YOURSELF AT CENTER OR ON THE WING IN THE PWHL?
FILLIER: I think I’m a natural center. I’ve played center my entire life. And the last four months of my season were my first time playing wing, especially left wing.
Yeah, I mean, I’m willing to play wherever the team that I go to needs me to play. I feel like I can play different styles. At center I feel I play a full 200ft game and can contribute both offensively and defensively. And then playing wing it kind of opens me up a bit in the offensive zone and I can kind of fly the zone a bit more and get a bit more threatening offensive chances off the rush.
But I think it’s made me better at both positions, especially breaking out and understanding where people are going to be and where the best place to put the puck for people is. But, yeah, I’m not set on a position for next year. It’s probably just going to be in talks and conversations with GMs or coaches of wherever I end up.
-----------------------
-----------------------
FOR BOTH: WHAT ARE YOUR EMOTIONS AROUND DRAFT DAY, DO YOU HAVE PLANS TO HAVE FAMILY THERE AND CAN YOU DESCRIBE WHAT YOU’RE LOOKING FORWARD TO?
BARNES: Yeah, just super excited, I think. You know, a lot of us have played against each other or have teammates that are going to be there, ex-teammates that are going to be there. So I think just excited to see some familiar faces and then just obviously wanting to spend time with my family.
It’s a really special day and something that we’ve been dreaming of for so long. So just, without my family I wouldn’t be here, so just spending that day with them and ultimately just being able to take it all in. That’s kinda my plan for draft day. But super excited. Not nervous. Just gonna take what comes. You know, whatever happens I’m gonna be excited for myself and the other draftees as well. Like I said it’s just a really cool experience all around. So just more excited for the day.
FILLIER: Yeah, I would echo everything that Cayla said.
Definitely some nerves surrounding it for sure. I’ve had my life pretty planned out and kind of knew what I was going to do these past 6 years. There was never really any uncertainty over where I was going to end up or have to live. So coming out of college and just not really knowing what's going to happen in the next 72 hours is- I feel like it’s normal to have a bit of nerves and be a bit of a stressful situation, but it’s exciting.
My parents are going to be here and be beside me the whole draft, so that will be cool. And again, all the work that they’ve put in behind the scenes to get me here is super special. And this moment’s not just gonna be about me, but about my family, my parents, and I hope they soak everything in. It’s been really fun picking out their draft outfits and getting our nails done and everything and getting ready. So it’s been a really cool experience.
-----------------------
-----------------------
FOR BOTH: SINCE THIS IS THE SECOND YEAR OF THE LEAGUE, YOU WILL HAVE TO EARN A SPOT – HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT THE COMPETITION AND WHAT YOU MIGHT HAVE TO DO TO ELEVATE YOUR GAMES?
FILLIER: Yeah, that’s a great point, but I think it’s exactly what we want in a professional league. If you look at any other professional league, whether men's or women's, the level of play is incredibly high and we want to put out the best product we can for the fans and build a really successful market. I think it’s great for the game that it’s gonna be so tight and you really have to prove yourself and find your way onto a roster.
It’s taking the Summer and finding ways to elevate your game. I think for me it’s about adapting to that physicality right away. Like, a specific skill that’s probably gonna come in handy is working on puck protection. Especially playing international team players every night. They’re gonna be strong and physical. To be able to make plays that I expect myself to make I’m gonna have to find some time and I think it all starts with puck protection.
BARNES: I think it’s- You know it’s never easy to take someone’s job. But like Sarah said, that’s why we’re here: we want that competitiveness. We want to put that product out. Put the best product out. I think it’s good for the league and it’s good for us. It’s gonna push us to elevate our game. You know, we have to look for ways this summer to look back at PWHL games this season and find trends and work on those. Like the physicality, might not exist in the college game thus far. So just to be prepared for camps and stuff like that. But super excited that it’s competitive. Like she said, that's what we want, we want it to be competitive and put the best players out there on the ice and the best product. So just working on those things throughout the summer to be prepared for camps in November.

Seventy-five Candles on E Street as Bruce Springsteen Hits Milestone Birthday
E Street is lit up as Bruce Springsteen turns 75 today.
Born Sept. 23, 1949, in the New Jersey that figures in so many of his albums and songs, Springsteen has showed his mortality the last couple of years with stomach and voice problems that led to canceled shows. But he came back and - as he did in his 50s and 60s - put on rock ‘n’ roll concerts that belie a man of his age despite the E Street Band having the phrase Viagra-takin’ added to its late-show honorific in recent years.
What’s there to say about the man known to the world as the Boss? Yes, he’s made some weak studio recordings, but he is nothing but strong on stage - one of the greatest performers rock music has yet produced.
Always a fan - though one who cooled after Born in the USA arrived - Sound Bites first saw the Boss and the Band at the 1995 Concert for the Hall of Fame in Cleveland where they opened with “Shake, Rattle and Roll;” played with Jerry Lee Lewis, Bob Dylan and Chuck Berry; and offered the most-moving rendition of “Darkness on the Edge of Town” the blog has ever heard.
Since then, Springsteen gigs - ESB or otherwise - have been won’t-miss affairs. And though the 2024 show in Ohio had a last-time feel to it, Springsteen also seemed ageless at 74 and Sound Bites hopes to see him a few more times before time does what it does.

Hi! Could you do maybe an angsty blurb for Trevor Zegras?
Maybe something like you and him have been friends forever and you’ve always liked him but never told him. Then you decide to finally tell him and he only sees you as a friend.
Just Friends Part 1
Part 2 Part 3
Thank you so much for the request, I don’t usually write angst but I hope you like it!
Trevor and I first met in sophomore year of high school. I was in chemistry with him and some other USNTDP guys. Growing up in the Ann Arbor area then moving to Canton, I’ve seen a lot of these guys pass throughout my life. One of my older brothers played U17’s with USA hockey and my other brothers befriended the USA guys when they came to Michigan. A few of them even dated my friends sisters.
I could never escape them and seeing Trevor in class everyday made me realize that I didn’t want to. Alex Turcotte and I got close after I helped him pass Brit Lit and The guys took me in; especially the Hughes. My older brother was great friends with Quinn already so they were happy to have the both of us over.
Eventually I grew close with crew that was Cole, Trevor, Jack and Alex. I went to all of their games, attended every party. Even though I was always their DD I never minded. I belonged and that was all that mattered to me. I fell easily for Trevor. What is there not to fall for? I’ve always been insecure, introverted in a lot of ways. He noticed me and even flirted with me. I never told anyone but I was head over heels in love with Trevor Zegras
When they all got drafted I thought it was the end. That I was some girl they were happy to entertain in high school but not as they got older. For the most part I was wrong. They all kept in touch and I would join them every year in the summers at the Hughes lake house. I would try to visit all of them, Jack the most because I chose a college in Ohio and he lives in New Jersey.
Now at 22 I’m still friends with all of them. It feels amazing. Well besides with Trevor. Seeing him with other girls makes me want to lock myself away. After too long of not seeing him and Alex I decided to take a surprise trip to California.
I started in Ontario (California), Alex was so excited when I showed up at his door. I forced him not to tell Trevor I was coming. He showed me to all of his favorite spots, I met his teammates. It was wonderful but all I could think about was Trevor.
Now I stand at his door and knock. I can hear rumbling inside like someone is running. The door opens and standing in front of me is a freckled brunette. “Hi, you must be Jamie. I’m Y/n, I’ve heard so much about you.” I try to keep my voice low as a shake his hand. “I’m here to see Trevor.”
“Right your Trevor’s Y/n,” he says with a knowing smile. My stomach flips. I’m so nervous and he just called me Trevor’s. “Z someone’s here for you!” He smiles and leaves me standing at the door.
I look down at my feet until I hear a voice, “Y/n?”
“Hey Trev, long time no see.” I smile and he rushes toward me picking me up into a hug. I hold him like my life depends on it, I’ve missed him so much.
After a minute he puts me down and looks at me like I’m not real. “I can’t believe you’re really here!” He grabs my hand, “Come on let’s go catch up!”
We drive to a coffee shop that he goes to every day, or so I’m told. The whole way there the car is filled with the sound of his voice. Talking my ear off and catching me up on everything that’s going on with him.
When we finally sit down at the coffee shop he orders himself a black iced coffee and a hot chocolate for me. He knows that I don’t like coffee. The waitress keeps hitting on him and he is reciprocating. I sink into my seat. I know how this works. I’ve seen all the other guys act like players but it’s so much worse seeing Trevor do it.
When the waitress finally leaves the table Trevor looks at me. “Hey what’s wrong?” He reaches out to grab my hand but I pull it away.
“Don’t do that.” I say, “Please.”
His eyebrows furrow, “Y/n tell me why you’re upset.”
“Trevor you know, let’s not pretend you don’t.” I lower my voice hoping that it won’t feel as real if I say it quietly. “I’ve loved you for years.”
His eyes widen, “Oh.”
“This was a mistake.” I rush out of the booth heading for the door. I can feel the tears welling in my eyes and by the time I’ve hit the parking lot I’m weeping openly.
I can hear Trevor follow me out. I have no where to go so I turn around and face him. “I’m so sorry,” he says and places his lips on my forehead. “I’m so so sorry. I’ve wished I could feel that way for you but I just can’t. I hate that I made you cry please don’t cry.”
He’s pleading and holding my face in hands. My sobs keep flowing, I can’t even open my eyes. “I should leave. I need to go home.”
“I can’t lose you like this. Can’t we just be friends like we always have?”
I look in his tear filled blue eyes. They have hope in them, he doesn’t even know that the words he just said were the most heartbreaking part. We can’t go back to being friends “like we always have”. To me he was everything. He was the sun, the moon, and the stars. We were never just friends.
“You’ll never lose me.” I lie, a beautiful lie I’ve been telling myself for years. Postponing the inevitable. I can’t hold on to something I never had, at least not forever. So I simply hold on for a few more hours as we drive back to his place.
He leaves to grab dinner and I beg Jamie to take me to the airport. I fly away from California without looking back. I feel my heart burst as I block him on everything.
Even amongst all this pain I can’t help but think that someday I will find him again and my broken heart will mend. I will finally be whole. Untill then I will remain as I always have, broken and meaningless. For what has meaning without love?

i’m sure they’re feeling normally about the sport (hockey) right now
PA not pictured he’s currently having a moment(TM) offscreen
very long ramblings about hockey and wttt under the cut:
i have an ailment called “i keep thinking about how wttt characters would react to irl events*” which is basically the entire premise of the actual series itself but i still feel insane for being so obsessed with it so anyway here’s my ramblings
*that i am experiencing. in this case: hockey
i absolutely think all the hockey-watching states (which, in my head, are all the midwest states w/ nhl teams, all of the northeast states. except for VT, NH—and maybe RI?—who only watch it every so often, washington, and colorado) gave mass shit for his team (the bruins) getting knocked out of the first round by the FLORIDA PANTHERS (who BARELY got into the playoffs) after their literal record-breaking regular season and the insane fucking team they had. wash, minnesota, chicago/illinois, probably gave him the least shit for it, in that order, but there were def a few remarks about it. the only one who didnt say anything was probably colorado bc he was the defending champion and got knocked out first round by washington LMFAO. but the northeast was RUTHLESS. i’d like to think they gave him sooooo much shit for it he couldnt even show his face around in the statehouse (outside of meetings) until new jersey got knocked out 2nd round. even connie joined in despite repeated attempts by mass to disqualify him from even talking about the playoffs considering connecticut has not had an nhl team since 1997.
i should add new york got knocked out like literally the next day so he couldnt give mass shit for it as much but at least he didnt have a record-breaking team like the bruins !
anyway ❤️ new jersey is not shutting up about the fact the devils beat the rangers until next season’s playoffs start. he is bringing that shit up every time he reasonably can.
okay, now into who i think each hockey-watching state is rooting for/bandwagoning now. the current matchups right now are: in the west, we have the dallas stars versus the vegas golden knights (which i’m calling vgk for short), and in the east, we have the carolina hurricanes against the florida panthers.
i should note that they are all very happy the cup is staying in america (most people hate vgk but the american haters r at least happy they knocked the edmonton (canada) oilers out)
(LONG LIVE SUN BELT HOCKEY AND RAHHHHHHHH USA USA USA 🦅🦅🦅🦅)
massachusetts: - no one because he’s salty and hates everyone (leaning very slightly towards vgk because nevada , the personification, is better than the others)
new york: - same as massachusetts. hoping for the canes’ downfall (the carolina hurricanes knocked out the new york islanders first round too. yes, new york has/had two teams in the playoffs (islanders and rangers). new york has THREE total. rip buffalo ily guys)
new jersey: - very much actively hoping for the canes’ downfall (canes knocked out the devils), so much so he’s leaning very slightly panthers except he would never admit that
pennsylvania: - he’s currently climbing light poles in philly and taunting the government (gov? the actual government of philadelphia? who knows) just to feel something. (the philadelphia flyers are a bit of a dumspter fire and the pittsburgh penguins missed the playoffs for the first time in 16 years) he can also not talk as much shit about his fellow northeasterners and their teams as he’d like because of the shit he got/is getting for the penguins missing the playoffs.
ohio: - the panthers because 1) florida of the midwest and the actual florida have to stick together yknow 2) johnny hockey’s best friend is on the panthers
michigan: - the hurricanes because he’s not rooting for/bandwagoning the same team as ohio
chicago/illinois: - i dont even want to talk about this man/team fuck them
minnesota: - vgk because he’d be damned if he’s rooting for the stars (the minnesota wild got knocked out by the dallas stars)(and the admin of the mn wild twt account started up a little feud w the admin of the stars twt account)
washington: - the stars because. do i have it in me to explain this twitter bit. hmm… no. tl;dr: the vibes
colorado: - vgk because nevada is his buddy !!!!!
connecticut: - the canes to piss off the rest of his northeastern pals (and he is a little fond of them because the hartford whalers relocated to become the carolina hurricanes)
in my heart of hearts i want north carolina to be rooting for his team so bad and actually rhe canes have some LOUUDDD fans so i think he gets to be the first southern state to actually regularly watch his hockey team and know the game. florida, as always, still doesn’t know what the stanley cup is. texas could care less. nevada is a casual fan of his team i think but i think theyre rlly amped up abt vgk being in the playoffs rn.
thats all <3 if u actually read all of this , 1) why 2) thank you i love you. feel free to talk to be abt hockey (and how it relates to wttt, or not!!) anytime :3
