Steddie soulmate AU where Eddie is a famous musician, everyone assumes he doesn't have a soulmate. Eddie was just smart and doesn't confirm, doesn't want to go through rabid fans who claim to be his soulmate. He's had too many show up wearing his initials they tattooed on themselves even before he was asked about soulmates in an interview.

Enter Steve Harrington who works as a nurse. Just casually on his third nightshift in a row in the ER. Sipping some coffee trying not to fall asleep when they get the call about some confidential patient coming in.

Eddie comes in for some injury. Steve has 0 clue who he is, just says "You look familiar, did we go to school together?" And Eddie practically falls off the stretcher at Steve's feet. Goes all googoo eyes at him. Steve being mildly concerned because Eddie's heart rate keeps skyrocketing (its because Steve is touching him).

One of the other nurses can't help but try and get the gossip from Steve, who is very much confused as to why she cares about this random patient. She tells Steve who Eddie is, and he's just like ???? Okay???

Steve doesn't admit it but the picture she shows is HOT. It's Eddie, flipping off the camera, tongue out. He's covered in tattoos, including the word 'sorry' written in a weird script on his middle finger. He's shirtless and his pants are so low that Steve can see the dip of his hips creating a v and-

Steve has to walk into the supply room to get himself under control. Pretends it doesn't mean anything and goes back to his job as his heart thuds rapidly in his chest.

Eddie tries not to pass out when they draw his blood, Steve holds his hand. It feels right. Eddie can't help wanting to ask," Hey, do you have a soulmate?" But he hates being asked that question, so he won't.

Until Steve bends over, his scrub top lifting up slightly. Eddie can't help glancing at his ass, but then he can't breathe. Because on his lower back is the initials EJM.

"Steve G. H?" Eddie asks as his voice goes up an octave. Steve turns, bewildered ," How did you-?" "Edward James Munson." Eddie whispers.

I think it is particularly interesting how Aventurine's relationships with Jade and Topaz were depicted in 2.3.

At the risk of inciting the wrath of Aventurine/Topaz shippers (I'm sorry, everyone can ship what they want; this particular ship just isn't for me!), their interactions were framed in a very familial manner, at least when Aventurine was involved.

Jade is clearly projecting herself as a mother figure for him, directly calling him "child," a "kid," and taking on a disciplinarian role such as in this scene, where she nabs both their room keys to stop them from whining at each other. On Jade's end, this is very deliberate--given what we know of her cornerstone ability, she can almost certainly see the void that Aventurine's mother's death left in his life, and she is intentionally acting in a maternal manner in order to ensure his compliance and respect. (Personally, I'm of the opinion that Aventurine is smart enough to clock this manipulation tactic, but also that he's going along with it because why not? He was going to be manipulated anyway, might as well get free mom out of it.)

Topaz, meanwhile, definitely feels like she's being cast in the "annoyed sibling" role, particularly in this scene where they squabble so much the Trailblazer can't get a word in edgewise and Jade has to step in as the parent figure to correct their behavior.

Although the relationship is clearly different than the kind and supportive one we saw between young Kakavasha and his older sister, the "siblings fighting over a toy" and "sister irritated by bratty brother" vibe (I am such a sister myself, I feel this dynamic in my bones) was out in full force in 2.3, creating a very strong parallel to the missing sister figure in Aventurine's life.

I just think it is particularly interesting that the hole in Aventurine's heart was created primarily by the loss of his mother and sister--and then 2.3 suggests echoes of those exact roles being filled by other women who have stepped into his female relatives' places.

Given her maneuvering to fill the mother role on purpose, I have to wonder if Jade didn't also have something to do with Aventurine's connection to Topaz (clearly another favorite of Jade's). Did she help to cultivate this friendship and sibling-esque rivalry between them on purpose, with an end goal in mind?

It seems to me that it would be much more difficult for Aventurine to cut ties with the IPC if the Stonehearts were providing him with not only wealth and power but also a simulacrum of the very family he wanted to die to meet again...

Just sayin'.

Hi Moonstripe! Darkpaw of Surfclan writing. I read you knew a little bit about ghosts? I keep seeing this... Cat.. who doesn't shine like Starclan. Have you seen anything like this before?

As Moonstripe writes, his shadow begins to shift behind him and slowly creep up the wall of his cave domicile. It begins to form a hulking cat much bigger than any in life, with light only forming where two eyes should be. Moonstripe twitches and turns to lick an itch on his neck. Out of the corner of his eye he sees something... But as he looks up to the wall, the shade is gone.

Lorcana/Twisted Wonderland Part 3

I've enjoyed this some I thought I'd share some more cards from Lorcana as related to Twist.

First off is the reminder of the fact that Rook should have a beard lol. But otherwise I'm glad to see he has some representation in Lorcana.

And while on Pomefiore, Dark Mirror anyone?

I figured I'd include this because of the up coming EN event. Stitch just out there living his best life. I'm really looking forward to it, especially cuz the SSRs are Lilia and Floyd.

Another Jafar, that I think I'd s very good reflection on Jamil.

And this is almost like an Overblot version for the Tweels. That's part of why it's easy for me to draw the parallels between Twist and Lorcana because some of the themes are close enough. Especially when it comes to Ink/Blot which is pretty much the same thing. Some of the characters become twisted in Lorcana, corrupted far beyond their Canon self.

While she doesn't have a Twist counterpart here would be Anna, as she is corrupted by the ink. (OC fuel maybe?)

And last I'm just adding this card because I find it hilarious.

Anyway there are a lot of fun parallels, like I said in my original post, it's easy to see Twisted as a world within Lorcana. Whether I ever write about it in a fanfic one day I don't know. But I still find it a fun HC

Johnny Storm x Reader

Synopsis: Johnny wants to hold your hand

You're standing in the kitchen, talking to Sue. Johnny's fingers twitch as he thinks over his plan. He's going to stroll in, throw a smirk your way, maybe a wink if he's feeling lucky, brush his fingers against yours before intertwining them. He's going to hold your hand.

Except, every time Johnny has tried, he fumbles. Last week, Johnny had decided he was going to try and flirt. He's not sure what happened in the conversation, he was too busy trying not to stumble over his words. But you had patted him on the arm and walked away. "That was painful," Ben had joked, patting him on the back. Johnny had glared and shrugged him off.

Last night, he had spent ten minutes talking himself up in the mirror. When he had finally mustered up the courage, he had walked up next to you. You had smiled at him and he quite literally tripped over his own feet.

Johnny had fallen with a loud crash, knocking a chair over. Everyone had surrounded him to see if he was okay, you laughing slightly. It stung, he knew you weren't being mean (and he knew it was kind of funny), but it stung. Johnny had gotten up, brushed everyone off and stormed out.

Today was the day though. Johnny took a slow, deep breathe. He can flirt, he's done it multiple times. Flirted the pants off anyone he's wanted. Had fun nights. But that's all it was, fun for one night. This was real. Serious. He had feelings. He wanted more then just one night. But first he had to make his move.

Johnny cleared his throat as he walked into the room," Hey." You look over your shoulder, grinning," Hey, you." "Hi," Johnny smiles, coming to a stop next to you. "You already said that," Your smile widens.

"Oh, uh, yeah." Johnny faltered, looking over at Sue who was amused. Johnny gave Sue a look and she laughed to herself," I just remembered, Reed needs me." "Huh? Oh, okay," Your brow wrinkles slightly with confusion before clearing.

You lightly touch Sue's arm, going to hug her, but Sue flinches back. "Your hands are like ice!" She frowns slightly. "Yeah, they do that sometimes." You shrug it off, looking down at your hands. Sue gives Johnny a look, nodding towards your hands.

"Oh! I can help!" Johnny straightens up, holding his hands out. You blink at him for a second before grinning. You hold your hands out.

Johnny gulps lightly, before grasping your hands in his. Everything seems colder to him now that he's able to catch fire at any moment. But he can tell your hands are even colder then how you normally feel.

Johnny closes his eyes so he can focus. Calling the flames inside him to warm his hands up, but not enough to actually light. He really doesn't want to hurt you.

You smile softly at him. You don't think he knows that when he focuses, his brow furrows and his tongue sticks out slightly. He holds your hands softly, carefully. His thumb rubs against the back of your hand ever so slightly.

Johnny's eyes flutter open. You swear you can see the flames in his irises. "Better?" He mumbles. "Yeah..." you smile softly. Johnny grins, looking down at the ground bashfully. It's cute, endearing. "Gonna hold my hands more often?" You ask, stepping closer into his space.

Johnny inhales sharply," If you let me? Yes." "Yeah?" You murmur, pulling his hands to wrap around your waist. "I'll do anything you'd let me." Johnny mumbles looking at your lips. "Anything?" You remove one hand out of his grasp, which Johnny would mourn except your hand is cupping his face.

"Anything for you," Johnny whispers. You inhale,"Then kiss me." Johnny leans in, hesitating right before his lips touch yours, giving you a chance to pull back. When you don't, he tentatively presses his lips to yours.

You sigh and lean into the kiss, gently moving your lips against his. Johnny can't hold back the groan that escapes him. You pull back too soon. Johnny tries to chase your lips, and you assent giving him another quick peck on the lips.

Johnny's eyes flutter open," Wow." You chuckle at him, as Johnny stares in awe at you. "Let's do that again- let's absolutely do that again," Johnny declares.

"Can you make out elsewhere? Some of us would like to eat lunch in peace," Ben calls out, breaking the moment. You and Johnny separate, looking at the ground before sneaking looks at each other and grinning. Johnny runs his hand across the back of his neck before looking back at you.

"I mean it," Johnny smiles at you," Anything."

Is Six Ears an Aspect of Sun Wukong?

I've seen some people claim that Six Ears is not an aspect of Sun Wukong's mind. They either ignore the references to "one mind" and "two Minds" (and the Buddhist philosophy behind them), or they just say it's allegory and nothing more. Well, there are actually internal story details from chapter 58 that support the close connection between the Monkey King and his doppelganger.

1) The Bodhisattva Guanyin and her “eyes of wisdom” (huiyan, 慧眼) can’t tell them apart:

The various deities and the Bodhisattva stared at the two for a long time, but none could tell them apart (Wu & Yu, 2012, vol. 3, p. 106). 眾諸天與菩薩都看良久，莫想能認。 [And later:] Pressing his palms together, our Buddha said, “Guanyin, the Honored One, can you tell which is the true Pilgrim and which is the false one?” “They came to your disciple’s humble region the other day,” replied the Bodhisattva, “but I truly could not distinguish between them …” (Wu & Yu, 2012, vol. 3, p. 114). 我佛合掌道：「觀音尊者，你看那兩個行者，誰是真假？」菩薩道：「前日在弟子荒境，委不能辨 …

2) The tight-fillet spell works on both Monkeys:

Asking Moksa and Goodly Wealth [a.k.a. Red Boy] to approach her, the Bodhisattva whispered to them this instruction: “Each of you take hold of one of them firmly, and let me start reciting in secret the Tight-Fillet Spell. The one whose head hurts is the real monkey; the one who has no pain is specious.” Indeed, the two disciples took hold of the two Pilgrims as the Bodhisattva recited in silence the magic words. At once the two of them gripped their heads and rolled on the ground, both screaming, “Don’t recite! Don’t recite!” The Bodhisattva stopped her recital … (Wu & Yu, 2012, vol. 3, p. 106). 菩薩喚木叉與善財上前，悄悄吩咐：「你一個幫住一個，等我暗念緊箍兒咒，看那個害疼的便是真，不疼的便是假。」他二人果各幫一個。菩薩暗念真言，兩個一齊喊疼，都抱著頭，地下打滾，只叫：「莫念，莫念。」菩薩不念 …

3) Both the Jade Emperor and the imp-reflecting mirror can’t tell them apart:

Issuing a decree at once to summon Devariija Li, the Pagoda-Bearer, the Jade Emperor commanded: “Let us look at those two fellows through the imp-reflecting mirror, so that the false may perish and the true endure.” The devaraja took out the mirror immediately and asked the Jade Emperor to watch with the various celestial deities. What appeared in the mirror were two reflections of Sun Wukong: there was not the slightest difference between their golden fillets, their clothing, and even their hair. Since the Jade Emperor found it impossible to distinguish them, he ordered them chased out of the hall (Wu & Yu, 2012, vol. 3, pp. 107-108). 玉帝即傳旨宣托塔李天王，教：「把照妖鏡來照這廝誰真誰假，教他假滅真存。」天王即取鏡照住，請玉帝同眾神觀看。鏡中乃是兩個孫悟空的影子，金箍、衣服，毫髮不差。玉帝亦辨不出，趕出殿外。

4) Only omniscient beings like Investigative Hearing (Ksitigargbha's mount) and the Buddha can tell the two apart:

[T]he Bodhisattva Ksitigarbha said, “Wait a moment! Wait a moment! Let me ask Investigative Hearing to listen for you.” That Investigative Hearing, you see, happens to be a beast that usually lies beneath the desk of Ksitigarbha. When he crouches on the ground, he can in an instant perceive the true and the false, the virtuous and the wicked among all short-haired creatures, scaly creatures, hairy creatures, winged creatures, and crawling creatures, and among all the celestial immortals, the earthly immortals, the divine immortals, the human immortals, and the spirit immortals resident in all the cave Heavens and blessed lands in the various shrines, rivers, and mountains of the Four Great Continents. In obedience, therefore, to the command of Ksitigarbha, the beast prostrated himself in the courtyard of the Hall of Darkness, and in a little while, he raised his head to say to his master, “I have the name of the fiend …” (Wu & Yu, 2012, vol. 3, p. 112) …地藏王菩薩道：「且住，且住。等我著諦聽與你聽個真假。」原來那諦聽是地藏菩薩經案下伏的一個獸名。他若伏在地下，一霎時，將四大部洲山川社稷，洞天福地之間，蠃蟲、鱗蟲、毛蟲、羽蟲、昆蟲、天仙、地仙、神仙、人仙、鬼仙，可以照鑒善惡，察聽賢愚。那獸奉地藏鈞旨，就於森羅庭院之中，俯伏在地。須臾，擡起頭來，對地藏道：「怪名雖有…」。 [...] Smiling, Tathagata said, “Though all of you [Guanyin] possess vast dharma power and are able to observe the events of the whole universe, you cannot know all the things therein, nor do you have the knowledge of all the species” (Wu & Yu, 2012, vol. 3, p. 114). 如來笑道：「汝等法力廣大，只能普閱周天之事，不能遍識周天之物，亦不能廣會周天之種類也。」 […] [After the Buddha explains the ten categories of life and the four types of celestial primates (see the introduction here), he says:] As I see the matter, that specious Wukong must be a six-eared macaque … (Wu & Yu, 2012, vol. 3, p. 115). 我觀假悟空乃六耳獼猴也 …

In short, the twin monkeys are so hard to tell apart simply because they are representations of the true and illusionary minds (refer back to the article) within the same person.

So what does this say about Shadowpeach? I know LMK is a separate entity from the novel, but applying canon to this ship would make it more self-love, right? I'm sure those with creatively perverted minds know what I'm taking about.
