he’s interrupted by the shouts and argues of the three boys infront of him, all clambering onto eachother in an attempt to stay up a little later.

“no, cmon. if you go to bed too late- how is santa gon’ come?”

that got them, speechless and sitting back on the couch. darry rolls his eyes, already understanding that there is no santa that gets the meagre presents, no santa that shoves them haphazardly under the tree. but he isn’t about to say that, because ponyboy and sodapop are so excited to open their stockings the next morning and look for their names on all their gifts.

darrel bends down, grabbing both younger boys and swinging them over his shoulders before taking off towards each of their bedroom. darry scrambles behind them, eagerly.

once everyone is tucked in, heads resting on soft pillows that are years old, they each get a kiss on the forehead and a light punch to their arm.

Sorry if you’ve already got this question before but how did your Veldigun oc (Bailey) meet Lankmann? Was Lankmann hostile when they first met or did Bailey just give off goober and whimsical vibes so much Lankmann didn’t see it as a threat?

The initial meeting wise Lankmann basically just woke up one night to hear his trash cans being knocked over and the screaming of raccoons (if you've never heard them full on screaming before let me tell you it is LOUD) and went outside to try to scare them off, only to just

See Bailey, who was about to eat/absorb a raccoon it grabbed....and was also having their leg gnawed at by another raccoon. Though Bailey kinda just immediately grabbed it's gas mask and ran away after a moment of the two staring at each other. Though yeah, Lankmann would be hostile towards them at the time.

Bailey kinda just eventually would come back after an hour or two, and just left a 'gift' at Lankmanns doorstep as an apology, sort of. (gift like a cat would put at the door step so you can probably get what I mean)

It was kinda just a joke between me and like a friend, so it's probably just really weird and stupid but that's partially the point and you asked so ye lol.

yknow iits very fitting that zam took inspiration from minute this season considering how much he idealizes his past self, granted just as minute and zam have different approaches to pacifism they also idealize s3!zam in different ways

minute idealized him cause he thought he was a hero, a saviour, a shining beacon of hope for the future that never gives up even in the face of impossible odds who would help everyone i any way he can no matter how futile and would never go on a random killing spree. embodying him fully was never the goal but nonetheless he tried to follow in his image in an attempt to project that image unto himself in order to make a name for himself, an image that he later came to a harsh realization was utterly distorted, a distortion that befell upon him as he stubbornly kept trying to reach out for it as he went face to face against who zam truly was and had become just as his attempt at pacifism slowly became degraded as zam kept playing his games with him over and over

zam on the other hand idealizes him as the embodiment of what lifesteal was about, of what he knows, what he knew, of what it was to be like to so sure of himself before everything he knew got ripped away from him. he thinks its still possible to go back to that time, to be able to take back what he was and yet a lot has changed -- no matter how much he wants the past to come back it doesnt change the fact that at the end of the day lifesteal has changed, that he's changed. not everyone wants to fight physically for what they believe in anymore, there's players with far different playstyles than everyone else who came before them, his past mistakes keep coming to haunt him, his past experiences influence his present self, ppl keep trying to control him. things are complicated complicated complicated and ppl who care about him hurt him and ppl who hurt him care about him and he cant even bring himself to kill 4c or kab despite really wanting to and despite the fact that he disagreed with them and despite the fact that one of his go-to mantras for several seasons now is to fight for what he believes in and to fight whoever disagrees. he can chase the ghost of his former self all he wants, to put the pieces back together again -- he has the bluprint after all, but at the end of the day its still nothing but a ghost and nothing will ever fit right ever again cause hes grown and hes changed and he keeps growing and changing and he cant go back to how it all used to be -- after all if he could then he wouldnt have been so insistent on being alone for so long, he wouldnt have given kab so many chances, and most of all he wouldnt have been so insistent on making sure the server keeps being functional
