Let’s talk about Esmund and Garroth shall we?

Esmund was the protector. Many thought this because he was a divine warrior and a guard to Lady Irene but that’s only half the truth. Esmund was a divine warrior yes, but he was never a guard. Let alone one of Irene’s.

Other believe it was due to his sheer strength. Which is also half true. He was a large man, built like a brick wall type. But he rarely solved things with his fists or his sword. He was a gentle giant, preferring to talk things out.

The truth behind his title is one that’s been seemingly forgotten by time.

Esmund was a prophet. He had visions of the future, and warned his people in accordance.

Before meeting Irene, they were only right about 60% of the time. After receiving his relic he was able to zero in on every detail and they became much more accurate.

That was Irene’s reason for choosing him, his want and his ability to help others without reward.

Esmund was nothing more than a lumberjack. He had no money to his name, and the townsfolk often feared him for his abilities. After all, before the divine, no one had ever even heard of magicks.

Eventually Esmund fell in love with a women who wasn’t Irene, and they had a child. Unfortunately, Esmund would never get to witness his child grow..

When Garroth was young he’d had visions. They were usually nothing, or so he thought. But on occasion, he’d see a plate slip off the table and shatter moments before it happened. He’d see a thief run through towns 10 minutes before needing to duck out of the way.

He usually ignored them, figuring there was probably some way to have known that was going to happen.

Then it happened.

Garroth saw his brother die. He watched as a dagger was driven into his back by an unknown assailant. Then he lay still on one of their mother’s rose bushes.

Garroth rushed to their mother’s garden as fast as his legs would take him, praying to anyone, everyone that he was wrong.

But there was Vylad. Limp and bloody, cradled in his sobbing mother’s arms.

The visions stopped after that.

They stopped until he saw Vylad again. Until the Island. Until Garroth began to learn more about Irene.

Regardless of his reincarnation, he's always doomed to live his life in hiding, watching as the people around him resemble those he's met in past lives. Of course things would repeat themselves again, why wouldn't they?

Day 2 of Making a Minecraft Diaries AU

So I don't have a day 1 post because I just came up with this concept on my second day of working on a Diaries AU. The fact I'm even going to make this AU in the first place is probably a testament to how old I am since Diaries is a nine year old series at this point, but if you haven't watched Minecraft Diaries you should. It's by Aphmau, there's a playlist on YouTube for seasons 1-3. Go watch it. I'm serious. Go watch it.

Anyways: Day 1 I decided to make a Diaries AU because I got to talking about the series to Em and got struck with inspiration to make a Diaries AU with DSMP characters. Namely with Wilbur as the protagonist with other members of the DSMP ensemble and a couple of OCs as the cast. Because look. Diaries has 200+ episodes and a lot more characters than you think. DSMP does not have enough characters for the amount of people in Diaries. There are like 40 characters on the DSMP. Just one look on the Diaries character Wiki will make you realize the kind of situation I'm in. Just in the Season 1 character list for Phoenix Drop ALONE there are 26 characters. And not everyone that was whitelisted on the DSMP is a viable character I can use for the story! So I opened a doc and got the series open on my phone and I started the process of rewatching and outlining a few chapters. I got four chapters outlined yesterday before realizing shit. I need to figure out how tf the rest of the story is going to change and what I need to cut because I am NOT writing a 100 chapters worth of fic. So I started the process of cutting out things I didn't like or felt were overall unimportant plot beats before I went to bed.

Today: I'm continuing the process of trying to summarize the story and boil down Diaries to its most core elements while still outlining chapters, cutting out a lot of the extra fluff to leave myself room to build my own story because obviously if I'm making an AU I don't want everything to be one to one. Also Wilbur isn't Aphmau and thus will behave differently as a protagonist. Same with a lot of the other characters. I'm not going to leave any major or minor character in Diaries untouched because this is an AU, not a crossover. If the character was named and important? I'm changing them. If you see a name you don't recognize, probably an OC or some character you forgot was part of the lore that I was able to sneak in.

Right now I'm trying to make a simplified plot overview of Season 1. Season 1 is already giving me a headache. Do you know how many kids these people have? How many random characters we see once or twice being actively important to the plot SOMEHOW!?

I'm still doing it because I think a Diaries AU would be fun and any of my readers who read it and don't know shit about Diaries are going to be so surprised by some of the things that happen. Diaries may be an old series but damn was it emotional and compelling.

Anyways obviously some character relationships are going to have to be changed and not everything in this AU and the OG Diaries is going to be the same. For anyone who's curious I'm already cutting out most if not all of the werewolf shit.

Wish me luck, I'm currently working on the outline for chapter 6 before jumping back to sorting out more of the timeline. I've got my phone propped up against my notebook and my computer in my lap :D

“I told you, I don’t need saving.”

”And I told you, I don’t want this job.”

Dante and Chelsea stared violently into each other’s eyes as they exchanged shouts and screams. Princess Chelsea of O’khasis, twin sister to the High Priest, and next in line to take the throne after Prince Garroth. Dante the Double Crosser, the newest Jury Member after the oldest had retired, a guard who wielded dual katanas and found himself playing around with girl’s hearts.

It’s tradition for the newest Jury Member to act as a guard for High Priest Zane as they learn the ropes. However, Zane had alternate plans this time around. With Zane comfortably having Lillian, the former rookie, as his personal guard, he instead assigned Dante to watch his sister. Not only because she was destined for the throne since Prince Garroth was missing, but also because Zane suspected a thing or two about his sister plotting against him. Now, the Princess was left with a guard she didn’t want and the rookie was glued to the Princess’ side.

What a lady killer. With Dante being forced to stay by Chelsea’s side constantly, he found girls repulsed by him. It wasn’t that he was no longer attractive — his new title definitely gave him a bonus — but he was now paired with the Princess of the village. Everyone knew it was better not to mess with Princess Chelsea. 

“Then resign,” Chelsea said bluntly to Dante’s face as she crossed her arms, turning to leave him behind in the dust once again. “I don’t need you.”

”Wh- I’m not just going to resign because I don’t want to be your guard,” Dante scoffed, promptly following in her footsteps. “Being a Juror is the opportunity of a lifetime. And even if this wasn’t part of the plan…” Dante grabbed both her hands, twirling her toward him. A smirk grew on his face, one hand snaking up to her cheek. “…I don’t mind watching a gorgeous princess like you all the time.” Even if I lost all my other chances with other women for now. 

Regardless of the tint on her cheeks, Chelsea quickly raised her free hand, slapping Dante across his face. She stuck her tongue out at him for a moment, huffing and turning to leave once more. “Quit flirting with me! It’s inappropriate!” 

Dante stood there stunned for a moment. Has anyone ever bitten back at him like that? Has anyone rejected him in such a way? His heart was racing. As time slowed in Dante’s mind, he stared at her as she left, his lips curving upward again into that small smirk. Feisty. Not afraid to fight back. Resistant to his comments. There was a new sense of thrill coursing through his veins. He pressed his tongue to the inside of his cheek, chuckling to himself as time sped up once more. 

Challenge accepted, Princess.

Dante and Geoffrey are swapped so when Dante turns his back to Garroth and tries to leave the jury (or whatever you think garroth would name the jury in this universe) after helping the main cast. Garroth slices his head clean off.

lot of the elements I wanted to make for this are video game esc. So there are slime creatures in this au, that are made of the original decade bodies of the apostles (Irene’s shadow knights)

Nana’s doll magic is a lot stronger and each of her dolls has a specific roll (range, defense, melee)

Zane being a priest isn’t just for show he has turned the spiritual energy he is around into a weapon. This includes using Irene’s own magic against her. (Priest unlike witches and warlocks can only draw magic from the energy around them from spells and incantations. So a lot of there magic involves redirecting.)

Zenix is Zane’s surrogate brother. Zenix follows Zane around like a stray dog.

Katelyn is a defense teacher that was banished from ohkasis for caring to much basically. Who she ends up with is up for debate. Sense it’s not always a one to one parallel. But I guess it makes the most sense she’s end up with Geoffrey.

gene and Laurence are swapped so Gene is actually a good brother. While Laurence is an apostle sense we meet him (and of course blames cadenza for his death. If possible though I would like to make it not as cut and dry.)

I guess Sasha and Emmalyn would be swapped? Idk I can dig an evil angel scholar.

Aphmau/MCD/Void Paradox AU where after jumping into the literal Void to escape the spread of it in the overworld, Laurance ends up in the player multiverse. Not IRL, think how other MCYT fics have the players able to server jump, infinite lives, etc.

He's really, REALLY confused about a lot of things- how are there all these different styles and histories and technologies and cultures and species and people, all living peacefully together? For... infinity?

Where he's from different cities of humans could barely keep it together without bloodshed and the world he jumped to with the Void chaos, people died. These "players" don't.

A friendly player-person approaches Laurance

And then one day, some kids recognize him. Kids that are players, that Laurance of Meteli and Pheonix Drop has FOR SURE never met before. But they know him, and his story, and his secrets. He rightfully freaks out!

And so his friend shows him the old videos. Minecraft Diaries, in the early days where it was framed as a player exploring and building in a world that happened to be inhabited by a few people, but not enough to warrant the usual blending-in that players adhere to in isolated worlds. Then when Aphmau realizes how big this world is, she does start blending in. Pretending to be one of them, worming her way into places she shouldn't as an outsider to the world. Playing god where she has no rightful power. Where she starts pulling strings for the sake of these... stories. Videos. They're fiction, to these gods. Laurance's whole life, is fiction.

His friend knew. He says he didn't want to tell Laurance, because Laurance wanted to go home. People who find themselves outside their home worlds that are isolated, not part of the multiverse... they tend to not be able to go back to how things were. If they can even find the unmarked world, but the friend thought since there was evidence of it they could eventually talk to someone who'd been there and get Laurance home.

And also, his friend notes, something isn't right about all this. There's MCD, there's MyStreet, there's VOID Paradox. Three versions of Laurance- technically, maybe, three versions of Aphmau. That doesn't happen in the multiverse. There aren't "alternate realities" of people. There's separate people who can be similar or fulfill the same roles in history, maybe, but not two modern and medieval versions of the same person. The Universe loves you. YOU. No one else, not another version of you. His friend doesn't get it.

Laurance is, rightfully, angry. He's just found out his life is a lie. His world just shattered into a million unfixable pieces. The woman he LOVED and has RISKED HIS LIFE FOR was never in any danger at all, was she? She's MARRIED, she has KIDS! He's been lied to, so, so many times. Everyone has. Garroth, Dante, Evelyn, Nana. They'd been through so much- and are going to go through more, from the looks of the videos posted years ago? And when they end... there's no resolution. They're left in the dust.

Laurance never gets an ending. No one does.

He... doesn't know how to feel about that. He's just, hollow. The raging anger that was flooding his veins just disappeared when he realizes that nothing in his world amounts to anything, because the goddess telling the story of their fates left it unfinished. There's so much that is missing! Of the world, of Laurance, so many things that are just, poorly mentioned sidenotes in these stupid, STUPID videos!

Laurance may have broken the borrowed "phone" thing he was given in his metal gauntlets. After that, he took those gauntlets off. And his pauldrons, and his cape. He didn't have anything to fight for anymore, really. His friend was right- he couldn't go back home to Ru'aun. Not after knowing all... this.

His brothers wouldn't believe him if he tried to tell them all this. Dante would laugh it off that he had too much to drink when getting lost in the woods. Garroth would think he finally snapped. Though he's suppose that would also entail a firey column of anger in his eyes, as a Shadow Knight and all.

His friend finds him later, and asks if Laurance wants him around. He wants to hold a grudge, he REALLY does- but he did just do exactly what his friend thought he would if he learned the truth, and he honestly didn't want to be alone. His friend makes a stupid suggestion for an icebreaker: kiss, marry, kill.

Laurance laughed despite it. Aphmau, Garroth, or him?

Something about Shadow Knights..

I feel that we, as a village (fandom if you’re boring), forget that while yes, Shadow Knights are trained to be soldiers, they are trained as assassins first and foremost.

Yes, they are trained for big battles, for hitting hard, for being brutal and violent. They are taught war tactics and how to work together, and how to leave each other behind should it benefit them in battle.

But they are first trained in the art of being sneaky. How to walk, breath, exist silently. How to be truly stealthy. How to blend in with a crowd, how to kill quietly, how to disappear into the night without a trace. How to work alone, how to be efficient.

They are taught how to use the stealthiest weapons first, like daggers and poison. Then, range weapons, archery and throwing knives. Then after they’ve learned all they need to become a great assassin, that’s when they are taught to use weapons of war.

And while yes, most Shadow Knights were guards in life, meaning they’re already trained many of these things mentioned, nearly none of them have the skills required to be a great assassin.

Guards don’t need to.

Shadow Knights do.

Gene is so powerful, and naturally first in command, do to his memory manipulating magicks. A Shadow Knights with mind magicks is rare and HIGHLY valuable to their cause. Stealth is all about not being noticed, and when you have the ability manipulate a persons mind, it doesn’t matter much if they notice you.

Our friendly counsellors, along with our top explorers (who you will see wearing their green neckties) are here to help you whenever you should need help. Before you get off to your cabins, please take the leaflet attached to this post to make sure you know your way around! We know things can be exciting but please, when lights out is called do not exit your cabins unless necessary. Otherwise, the nighttime staff will be around in case of any type of emergency. I am also being informed that the old Meteli cabin is strictly off-limits to anyone. So if you happen to be entering Yggdrasil forest at any point, do NOT enter. Also, the next person who is caught writing or drawing anything less than appropriate in the ask box will have their carers called and will be sent on the next coach home.

But apart from that, have fun campers!

Wake-up call is at 8:00AM, lunch is 12:00-13:00PM, and lights out is at 9:00PM-10:00PM.
