i literally cannot recommend this fic enough. this might be my favourite read of the entire year, dead serious. this sounds fluffy but trust me, the pining and the angst go well like salt on a chocolate chip cookie: extremely decadent. everything about this fic goes insane and this should be your gateway drug into marvey, im so serious about this. this. obsessed with fics that really use the law in their plots, and this is a prime example. a lot of chemistry in this one that is described in a way that makes you jealous of the bond they share and there are still lines in this fic that i think about almost everyday but honestly, such a top-tier read. PLEASE PLEASE IF YOU LIKE SUFFERING ANF REALLY REALLY GOOD CHEMISTRY PLEASE

i know that the terminology in this one is hella old-school but trust me. as someone who doesnt read a lot of fandom fics, this fic has changed it all for me (also bc the author replied to my comment hehehe) stick with this fic because the way fandom weaves with the character development is absolutely delicious, i remember saying this in my og comment but this fic was written with love for fandom and you should definitely read it too!!! you'd absolutely love it! BRO PLEASE. this was so good. angsty and pining-y enough even though it's mostly a text fic. text fics to me are more like comedic, but this one had substance and heart (and funny and enjoyable btw). pulls you in and really makes you want to stick it out and get to the beautiful ending <333 (harvey being soft is probably a category on its own :3)

i swear this is the most rom-commy fic marvey has to offer. i like aus that slap me in the face more with the alternate universe, but this is such a rom-com plot. fandom classic as well and it really reads like a hugh grant 90s movie and if thats not enough to pull you in idk what will tbh

this goes absolutely crazy. one of those fics where you read it and you almost want to throw your phone at the wall because the characters could make it so easy if they werent so stupid (but in a good way of course) but the way it was written, you feel the depth of the soulmate bond and why its so important (which a lot of soulmate aus forget to do loll) but goes down like an expensive and delicious dinner :)

Mike looked about ready to explode.

"Mike," you said quietly, reaching out to touch his arm. He was clenching and unclenching his fists at his sides. His breathing was coming out in short, shallow bursts. He was trying to look calm, but the way his lips pressed together and the tension in his jaw was a clear sign that he was not.

You weren't sure what was going to set him off. Maybe it was the stress of the case. Maybe it was the fact that Louis had him doing his dirty work again. Maybe it was a combination of the two.

But when he whirled on you, his blue eyes were dark. You had seen this side of him before, but it was only when Louis was being particularly nasty. It was a side that made him seem a little scary. You didn't think he would ever resort to violence, but the rage that was in his eyes now... you felt a shiver go up your spine.

"Of course, the night I planned to make dinner for you, we only have beer and cheese," he said, his voice rising. "I had a whole menu planned and then I get home and realize that my stupid, idiotic, asshole roommate ate all of the food."

"Hey, don't blame me because you don't know how to lock up the food," the aforementioned asshole said. Trevor was lounging on the couch, a beer in his hand and a half-eaten package of cheese next to him. He took another swig from his bottle and continued. "If you wanted something special, you should have hidden it from me."

That ticked Mike off even more. You saw him take a step forward, like he was going to pounce on Trevor and rip his head off, so you placed your hand on his chest. "Mike, hey, relax. It’s just food.”

"I wanted tonight to be special and then Louis decided to dump all his shit on me, causing me to be late a hour, and now when I come home to relax and make my meal. He devours it!"

"I'm a growing boy. I need sustenance."

"Trevor, you are such a—”

"Mike," you said a little louder, cutting him off. You put both hands on his chest, trying to calm him down. "Calm down, please."

He looked down at you, and his face softened. Some of the color faded from his cheeks, and his fists slowly relaxed. The tension in his jaw released, and his shoulders slumped a little.

"We'll just order pizza or something," you suggested.

"But I wanted tonight to be special," he muttered.

"It's already special," you assured him, smiling up at him.

He still seemed upset, but not quite as ready to murder Trevor. So, you pulled him by the tie, leading him towards the bedroom away from the prying eyes of Trevor — who personally, you thought to be a bit of an ass — and closed the door behind you.

You sat him down on the edge of the bed and crawled behind him to give his tense shoulders a massage. He leaned back into your hands with a sigh.

"Better?"

"A little."

You gave his shoulders a squeeze and placed a kiss at the top of his neck, near his hairline. Then another kiss right below his ear, which caused him to shiver.

"Now?"

"Mmm..."

You trailed kisses down his neck, then back up to his jaw. Your hands ran down his arms, squeezing lightly. His breathing was picking up, and you could feel him relaxing beneath your touch.

"I don’t think the fridge deserved that slam," you murmured against his skin. “You almost broke it in half."

He sighed again. “You’re right, I should’ve slammed Trevor’s head instead.

You let out a small laugh, and you kissed his temple. You moved your hands back up to his shoulders and pushed him down gently, so that his back was on the bed. He looked up at you, his eyes a bit brighter.

"So, Louis had you doing his dirty work, huh?" you asked, climbing onto the bed and straddling his waist. You slowly undid the knot in his tie, letting the silk slide between your fingers.

"Yeah. He always has me doing the boring stuff, and he never gives me credit for it."

"I thought you were technically Harvey's associate."

"I am, but Louis thinks he can order me around because he’s “in charge” of all the associates."

"Hmm, and then I suppose he blamed you for something you didn’t do?"

"Oh, you don’t know the half of it," he grumbled, his face hardening again. You ran your finger over his eyebrows, smoothing the crease between them, and his features relaxed once more.

"Well, you can worry about him tomorrow," you said, tossing the tie aside. You ran your hands over his chest, feeling the solid muscles beneath his shirt. He looked good in a suit, despite the tie he had chosen to wear today. Too tiny for his neck, but he looked handsome, nonetheless.

“I still can’t believe you wanted to make me dinner tonight, though," you teased, grinning down at him. "What's the occasion? It's not my birthday."

"No, but you told me a while back that you missed the home cooked meals back home. So I was going to make dinner, but now there's no food, so I can't, so now I'm a disappointment and a failure… again."

"First of all,” You reached out and smacked him lightly on the arm. He looked up at you in confusion.

"That's for blaming yourself. What did I tell you about doing that?"

"Blame the other guy?"

"No. Now, what did I tell you the last time you started blaming yourself for things?"

He sighed. "That it was okay and I'm human and it's perfectly normal to make mistakes, but I have to learn to not let them get the better of me and to focus on the future."

"Exactly. Now, secondly..."

You leaned down and captured his lips in a slow, gentle kiss. He lifted his hands and placed them on either side of your neck, deepening the kiss. His lips were soft against yours, and you smiled against him.

You pulled away slightly and leaned your forehead against his. "Secondly, when did I say that? I don’t remember talking about that.

"September 13th, around 4 o'clock in the afternoon. We were walking to the museum you wanted to visit, and we stopped to get hot chocolate."

"I—” You sat up, your brow furrowed. You stared down at him, wondering if he was joking, but he looked completely serious.

You knew his photographic memory was amazing, as he bragged about it constantly, but to have him remember a conversation like that so vividly and precisely? And on top of that, to have it stuck in his mind because it was important to you? You felt a surge of affection for him, and your heart swelled.

Mike noticed your look, and his cheeks colored. "What?"

A smile slowly grew on your face, and you shook your head. "You're so sweet."

"Well, I'm not exactly a piece of candy," he joked. "Unless you count Sour Patch Kids, in which case, I'm like, super sour."

"You are not sour," you said, laughing. "You're the sweetest person I know."

"Sweet like cotton candy or sweet like apple pie?"

"Hmm," you pretended to think, placing a finger on your chin. You were trying not to laugh, but the twinkle in his eye was making it hard. "Probably more like apple pie. Sweet enough without the cavities."

"An apple a day keeps the doctor away… well, technically, it would be dentist in this case, but still—"

You cut him off with a kiss, and he pulled you down onto his chest. Your noses bumped together, causing you to both giggle, but it quickly turned into a heated exchange of tongues. You were both breathing heavily, and you could feel the blood rushing through your body, making you feel flushed and hot.

Your hands were on either side of his face, your thumbs rubbing circles into his skin, while his were roaming all over your body, feeling the curve of your back, the slope of your neck, and the softness of your hair. He slid one hand underneath your shirt, and his fingers left a trail of goosebumps as they traveled up your stomach.

He broke the kiss and moved his lips to your neck, where he began nibbling and sucking on the sensitive skin there. You let out a soft moan, and you could feel him smile against you.

He rolled the two of you over, so that he was hovering over you. Those blue eyes stared into yours, and you smiled. His mouth curved up into a smirk, and you thought he’d pull your shirt off or start undoing his belt buckle.

But he did neither. Instead, he leaned close to your ear and whispered,

“Want to skip dinner and order dessert instead?"

You giggled, wrapping your arms around his neck. "Depends on what you're ordering."

"A Trevor free apartment for a few hours," he suggested, waggling his eyebrows. “Maybe some fried Oreos on the side?

You smirked as he pushed your hair back. His hand caressed the side of your face, and his thumb ran across your bottom lip.

"How about an appetizer before we get started on dessert?"

"That's my favorite part," he breathed, lowering his head towards yours. His lips brushed yours, and you closed your eyes, savoring the feeling.

Trevor was definitely an ass, but his eating habits sure did have a silver lining.

Leaving prison and getting picked up by Vic (who's scared to tell him anything).

Catching his half brother and husband banging, and going off on a particularly cutting and vicious rant at them (Aaron is beyond upset at himself).

Leaving in disgust to go and claim custody of his son, Vic trying to get him to stay but he's had enough (I don't care if they kill off Rebecca & Ross lol).

A nice moment between Robert and Jimmy, Nicola or Vanessa (or all three) to remind The audience that Robert isn't actually the devil incarnate.

1-3 should be enough for Aaron to lose his mind. Especially if Robert goes off grid completely. Lots of Danny crying and tormenting himself, and minimal effort for Ryan until he comes back later on (fully intent on making Aaron regret Fauxbert by ignoring him).

(Bonus if they get Irish Mike back and Fauxbert/Aaron is already over. 😂)

But as soon as Aaron sees Robert again, fauxbert and his one expression will be forgotten. Vic can deal with him, Aaron has a husband to win back!

I'd say maybe Irish Mike can take fauxbert off Aaron's hands for him... but I actually liked him and I wouldn't wish that asshole on anyone.

Oh Hanji's absolutely been suspicious about Eren, Mikasa, and Armin in the Peaceful Timeline.

See, because the Modern Day Trio come up to them and ask them questions about the Ghost Car (Optimus Prime) and the Demon Plane (Megatron). They've been talking about it for weeks. And they suddenly just...drop it. They stop talking about it. They stop asking about it. It's suspicious. Hanji notices the truck still coming into town, but nothing else.

Hanji knows for a fact that they found something. They are hiding something. So who better to employ in their mission than a former criminal?

Levi deadpanning as Hanji is grinning at them:...No.

Hanji: Yes!

Hanji asks Levi to plant a recording device on one of them to figure out what's going on, which is a huge risk for the both of them. Levi is trying to recover from a life of crime and start off fresh with Erwin's help. Doing this will violate his parole and all of his progress. Meanwhile, planting a bug and spying on the students will look bad for Hanji, who is a teacher at the school with an already outlandish reputation. Hanji's on their knees begging Levi, stating they will do anything for Levi for the next week.

Levi gets paid extra, and he gets better cleaning products. Device is on Armin for about a day before Levi manages to snag it back from him without knowing. Erwin finds out and is obviously mad at the both of them, but Hanji insists that they listen to the recording first. If there's nothing important on them, Hanji will take full blame for it and will resign from their job. Hanji, Levi, and Erwin listen to the recording and are completely shook at the sounds of two new voices and the fact that there is a confession that the Ghost Car and the Demon Plane are actually aliens!

Hanji: ALIENS!!!!!! THERE ARE ALIENS!!!! THE GHOST CAR IS AN ALIEN!!!!!

Erwin:....you owe Mike so much money.

Levi: You don't tell him shit.

This ultimately turns into that Friends Episode where everyone knows about Monica and Chandler excluding Ross and they're trying to get it out of the other side. Like "They know that we know" and "They know that we know what they know" Erwin and Hanji definitely see a benefit. Like discovering alien life? That's the biggest accomplishment you could ever achieve. Levi's thinking of their safety, especially one of them sounds like the biggest fucking asshole of the year.

The teachers aren't able to get a confession, not without exposing themselves for spying on students, but they do keep a close eye on the trio, waiting for one of them to slip up. They do end up getting involved when Starscream comes into the picture because they've been keeping a close eye on them. And Hanji gets really excited to test something completely unsanctioned that Erwin had to lock away in storage.

(I would have spoiled some stuff regarding that final confrontation, but I've decided to hold off on that for now. Lol.)

OKAY OKAY WAIT WAIT WAIT I HAVE SOMETHING I NEED TO SAY

In my interpretation, which doesn't have to be agreed with but I think there's merit to it, Harvey and Rachel feel very much older brother/younger sister to me. Does Harvey think very much of her in the beginning? Not that we see, and she mostly stays out of his way, mostly admiring him. Once Mike gets involved I feel like this intertwines their relationship so much and suddenly Rachel is a support system and a confidante that Harvey doesn't expect to have and doesn't know if he's comfortable with, because I think he'd prefer to keep being "Harvey Specter," or someone to be admired, forever, and that the more she knows about him the less she'll look up to him. But the thing is!!! She more she knows, the more she looks up to him, because she sees him as a whole person!! And Harvey watches her grow as a paralegal and then a lawyer, and he starts to really respect her, and he is protective and caring towards her!!! And theyre both suffering from being associated with an asshole like Mike Ross!!!! Literally they're siblings to me

I came across a fanfiction painting Harvey as being completely disgusted by Rachel (meaning that he really doesn’t like her as a person) and it seemed odd to me, so it got me thinking. 

I don’t think that in canon Harvey displays hatred towards Rachel? I mean, the guy isn’t that attached to her, I think that his relationship with Rachel is totally in the coworkers territory, not friendship, and that it is strongly tied to Mike, but I don’t think that he doesn’t like her.

We saw them interact more in season 4, when Rachel was basically acting as Harvey’s associate because Mike had left the firm. Harvey surely didn’t treat her like he treated Mike, he didn’t show sympathy or concern when she asked for a couple of days off, and if I’m not mistaken he even took out some of his frustration over the Mike situation on her a couple of times, but overall he didn’t seem to dislike her.

In season 5, Rachel acts as Donna’s substitute in the beginning, supporting Harvey when he needs it the most. This is mostly a show of loyalty and concern from Rachel’s part, but Harvey accepted her help (he also seemed pretty grateful when she found his calendar and answered the phone for him in 5x01, tbh), which I believe is a good sign.

Rachel is smart and ambitious, she isn’t just a “pretty paralegal” and I think that Harvey likes her. He doesn’t have a deep relationship with her (I really think that for him she is basically a coworker + Donna’s friend + Mike’s girlfriend), but she isn’t the kind of person that he would actively dislike.

For Harvey, Rachel has been mostly a substitute of someone that was missing (Mike in season 4 and Donna in season 5) so I’m not gonna pretend that there’s some deep friendship from his part, even if she seems to really respect him and to want to help whenever she can (and he’s one of her emergency contacts. I loved that.), but there are scenes that show some sort of fondness from Harvey’s part, like here: it’s a “bonus scene” on Youtube, and Harvey’s “This… Is gonna work out just fine.” doesn’t speak of hatred. 

In season 6, their interactions have been all about Mike, which enforces my belief that an Harvey/Rachel relationship on its own doesn’t really weight much. The most relevant Harvey/Rachel scene I can think of in season 6 is the one at the very beginning: when Mike went to prison, Harvey went to Rachel because he missed him so much already and he didn’t want to be alone in his pain. He basically looked for comfort in Rachel, which you don’t do with people you don’t like. 

So. Let’s sum it up. 

I don’t think that there’s a deep friendship in there, I think that Harvey likes her and Rachel respects him, but their relationship exists mainly because of and through Mike. Rachel would sell him out in a second to save Mike, and I have no doubt that Harvey would do the same. He does try to protect her a couple of times through the series, but I think mainly because she is important to Mike. They like each other, they acknowledge how much Mike cares about the other, they team-up to help Mike (and they don’t mind doing so), but I wouldn’t exactly call it a friendship.

my mind went IT'S FUCKING MIKE PARR - omg so rossbecca broke up?? - so rebecca is on her own?? - surely she won't be able to cope - or she dies off screen - vic finds out and brings seb home - or ross suddenly became less of an asshole and brings him home.

Thought I am cautiously optimistic about the future at least. Iain was a misogynistic asshole at times but he did know what *worked* on the show. And bringing ross back might just push things back to the ssw16 glory days.
