 The photo is from a 35mm colour slide produced by The Leeds Transport Historical Society.

 The 'Middleton Bogie' class were designed by the then General Manager (1932 - 1949) W. Vane Morland to run on the fast reserved express tracks such as the Middleton route, As well as innovative feature such as regenerative motors they had a body of steel panels on a teak frame with steel underframe and for driver comfort had a separate driver compartment with a tip up seat. 
 No. 265 was built by English Electric seating 30/40, ran on a pair of Maley & Taunton equal wheel swing link bogies, and first went into passenger service in Feb 1935. When new it had three destination blinds which was changed to just one (as in this photo) in Aug 1948. It last ran in service Oct 1956 and in the December was burned at Lowfields Road Permanent Way Yard. 
 The parts of the Leeds tramways system that had not already been withdrawn or transferred to bus operation closed in Nov 1959.

Watson and Freeman Win Poison Lone Star Season Opener
Former Junior World Championship contender, Jacob Watson, came from behind to claim the 64-player amateur 9-ball division, and his first-ever, Poison Lone Star Billiards Tour event. After losing the hot seat match to Sonny Bosshamer, 5-4, Watson came back with a vengeance, reaching another milestone in his short, but successful playing career. Hailing from Hughes Springs, Texas, tour newcomer Clint Freeman lost the open 9-ball division hot seat to Peruvian Champion, Manny Chau, 7-4, but found redemption in the final, besting Chau 7-5, 7-6, to secure his first, Poison Lone Star Billiards Tour open 9-ball division title.
On January 7th-8th, 2017, Bogies Billiards and Sports Bar (Houston, Texas), along with tour title sponsor Poison by Predator Cues PoisonBilliards.com, and sponsors Cyclop Pool Balls facebook@CyclopPoolBalls,  Ozone Billiards OzoneBilliards.com, and the APA of North Harris County facebook@APANorthHarrisCounty, facilitated another successful  Poison Lone Star Billiards Tour event, procuring a generous $1,000 in added money, with eighty players in attendance, and a near $7,000 prize fund. Due to the overwhelming number of players, races were reduced in each division, on the second day.
In the amateur 9-ball division, Watson took no prisoners on his way to the final four winners’ side, defeating Cecil Rhea, Leon Contreras, Jason Galetka, 5-2, and Angel Cerrillo, 5-4, while tour newcomer Elias Garza bested Josh Gavin, Jay Russell, Jantzen Miller, 5-0, and David Leal, 5-3. Also on a role, Sonny Bosshamer defeated Michael Alvarez, Matt McCurdy, Clint Freeman, 5-4, and J.C. Torres, 5-3, while Bobby Roland ousted Ben Johnson, Ben Hebert, Robley Fontenot, 5-3, and Robbie Salinas, 5-2. On the one loss side, Freeman was on fire, eliminating Bobby Garcia, 5-2, Leon Contreras, 5-4, and Angel Cerrillo, 5-0. Steve Lenz overcame Alan Myers, 5-3, Ben Johnson, 5-2, and David Leal, 5-1, while Jantzen Miller defeated Ben Hebert, Ricky Hughes, 5-4, and Robbie Salinas, 5-3. After losing his first match to Garcia, Steve Williams won four consecutive matches, ousting Thomas Madison, Matt McCurdy, Matt Cash, 5-4, Steve Espinosa, and Mark Callahan, 5-4. Williams fell shy of the final eight, losing to J.C. Torres, 5-3. Back on the east side, Watson reigned over Garza, 5-4, and Bosshamer took down B. Roland, 5-1. Bosshamer slid by Watson, 5-4, securing a well-deserved hot seat win. On the west side, Garza sent Torres packing, 5-1, as Freeman took out B. Roland, his fifth straight victim, 5-3. Garza ended Freeman’s run, 5-3, but fell to Watson by the same score. The young gun wasted little time on Bosshamer, winning both sets, and clenching his first amateur 9-ball division title.

In the open 9-ball division, Clint Freeman made his way into the final four on the winners’ side, taking down Bob DeTuncq, Jay Russell, 9-2, Michael Pickering, 7-6, and Justin Whitehead, 7-6, while Eduardo Hernandez bested Karol Hughes, Paul Bojan, Ruben Bautista, 7-4, and Scott Proud, 7-5. Manny Chau came on strong with wins over Elias Garza, 9-3, Thomas Madison, 9-6, Sonny Bosshamer, 7-5, and Steve Lenz, 7-3, while Ernesto Bayaua ran through Alan Myers, 9-2, Adam Cooper, 9-4, Steve Espinosa, and Leon Contreras, 7-4. As the final four on the winners’ side took shape, the one loss side witnessed a comeback by Bautista, who won five consecutive matches including wins over Jacob Watson, 7-1, Steve Williams, 7-1, and Steve Lenz, 7-3. Also on the one loss side, Michael Pickering ended Yoko Joe, 7-5, Cesar Arechiga, 7-4, and Leon Contreras, 7-3, to meet Bautista. Louisiana’s own Robley Fontenot made an impressive run on the loser’s side with wins over Chad Hart, Angel Cerrillo, 7-4, Steve Espinosa, and Danny Roland, 7-6, until Whitehead ended his run, 7-1. After losing his first match to Grady Cooper, David Leal won five straight matches, with wins over Myers, 7-6, Dale Lairamore, Russell, 7-3, Ricky Hughes, 7-6, and Doug Gray, 7-3. Leal was halted by Proud, just shy of the final eight. On the east side, Freeman ousted Hernandez, 7-2, and Chau sent Bayaua west, 7-1. Freeman went on to defeat Chau for the hot seat, 7-4. Back on the east side, Bautista forged ahead, eliminating Pickering, 7-1, and Hernandez, 7-0. Whitehead made quick work of Proud, 7-3, but fell to Bayaua, 7-2. Bayaua ended Bautista’s run, 7-6, but lost to a determined Chau, 7-1. It was evident that Chau was on a mission, and Freeman had his work cut out for him. Following an unforced error by Freeman, Chau closed out the first set, 7-5. In overtime, it was a fight to the finish, as both players traded game for game, each waiting on the slightest mistake in order to pull ahead and win the set. After a near flawless second set, when the dust cleared, it was Freeman who inched ahead to win the race, 7-6, and secure his first open 9-ball division title.
There were a number of players who traveled from out of state to participate in this event, and players competing on tour for the first time.  The tour would like to thank all those players for making the trip, and those who competed in their first Poison Lone Star Billiards Tour event. Leeds 'Middleton Bogie' trams Nos. 268/270 - Aug 1949 by Frederick McLean Via Flickr: An old photograph taken (I think) at what was then the newly completed extension to Belle Isle, of Leeds City Tramways (LCT) 'Middleton Bogie' trams No. 268 showing '12 - Circular - Swinegate' destination indicators and No. 270 showing '26 - Middleton' destination indicators. 
 The photo reverse is stamped with the photographer and/or negative owner name R. B. Parr and the date 28 Aug 1949 (date of the print rather than the date it was taken?). 
 The 'Middleton Bogie' class were designed by the then General Manager (1932 - 1949) W. Vane Morland to run on the fast reserved express tracks such as the Middleton route. As well as innovative features such as regenerative motors they had a body of steel panels on a teak frame with steel underframe, and for driver comfort had a separate driver compartment with a tip up seat. 
 No. 268 was built by English Electric seating 30/40 running on a pair of Maley & Taunton equal wheel swing link bogies, first going into LCT passenger service in Feb 1935. In Jun 1949 it was changed to a single destination indicator (although in this supposedly August photo it still has three) and had its headlights recessed, it last ran in service Sep 1957 and the following month was burned at Lowfields Road Permanent Way Yard. 
 No. 270 was built by English Electric seating 30/40 running on a pair of Maley & Taunton equal wheel swing link bogies, first going into LCT passenger service in Feb 1935. In Feb 1950 it changed to a single destination blind (in this photo it still has three) and had its headlights recessed, it last ran in service Jul 1956 and in the December was burned at Lowfields Road Permanent Way Yard.

Manchester tram No. 995 ex Middleton by Frederick McLean Via Flickr:
An old photograph of Manchester Corporation Tramways (MCT) car No. 995 showing a 'Rhodes' destination blind.
 From 1929 MCT were officially called the 'Manchester Corporation Transport Department'.

 The photo reverse is stamped with the photographer and/or negative owner name Dr. H. A. Whitcombe and annotated with "car at Rhodes Middleton". 
 No. 995 was originally a Middleton Electric Traction Co (MET) single deck car built by Brush in 1902 seating 44 and running on Brill 22E-type bogies. In Aug 1925 MET was taken over by Manchester, Oldham, and Rochdale councils, MCT getting single deck cars Nos. 1 - 10 which were renumbered 994 - 1003. Unfortunately the cars were not renumbered consecutively so their new MCT number cannot be tied to their previous MET number. 
 After transferring to MCT they were reconditioned and altered to more closely match previous MCT single deck cars, No. 995 going into service in 1926. It was withdrawn from service in 1930 and disposed of (scrapped, sold to use as a shed, etc.), the parts of the Manchester tramways systems that had not already been withdrawn or transferred to trolleybus/bus operation closing in Jan 1949.

Leeds tram No. 271 @ Middleton in 1953 by Frederick McLean Via Flickr: An old photograph taken in Middleton Woods of Leeds City Tramways (LCT) 'Middleton Bogie' tram No. 271.
 The photo reverse is stamped with the photographer (and/or negative owner) name of R. B. Parr and the date 11 Jul 1953.
 No. 271 was built by LCT at it's Kirkstall Road Works as a 8-wheel bogie car using an English Electric produced body seating 30/40 and running on a pair of Maley & Taunton 'swing link' equal wheel bogies. The 'Middleton Bogie' class were designed by the then General Manager (1932 - 1949) W. Vane Morland to run on the fast express tracks such as the Middleton route. As well as innovative feature such as regenerative motors and a body of steel panels on a teak frame with steel underframe, for driver comfort it had a separate driver compartment with a tip up seat. Sixteen cars were built, 256-263 with Brush bodies, and 264-271 with English Electric bodies. No. 271 went into passenger service in Mar 1935, had its original three destination blind boxes replaced by just one in Oct 1948, and last ran in service Apr 1956, being burned at Lowfields Road Permanent Way Yard in the November.

Leeds railcar No. 602 @ Thwaite Gate

Leeds railcar No. 602 @ Thwaite Gate by Frederick McLean Via Flickr: An old amateur photograph (just 3" x 2") taken at Thwaite Gate of Leeds City Tramways (LCT) railcar No. 602 showing a 'Swinegate' destination blind LCT No. 602 was built by Leeds based company C. H. Roe accommodating 70 passenger ( 34 seating & 36 standing) and running on Maley & Taunton type HS44 bogies. It was delivered to LCT in Feb 1953, then being extensively tested before going into passenger service (along with sister car No. 601) in a purple livery especially for the Queens Coronation on 01 June. In Sep 1957 both cars were withdrawn after the closure of Moortown and Dewsbury Road tram routes, then going into storage at Swinegate and staying there until after the Leeds tramways system closed in Nov 1959. In Apr 1960 No. 602 was bought by the 'Railcar Preservation Society' and the following month moved to Crich where it is currently on display in the exhibition hall. No. 601 was bought by the 'Middleton Railway Preservation Society' who unfortunately stored it outside at the Middleton Railway, and in common with some other trams for preservation that were stored there was vandalised past the point of being able to be saved, it was dismantled and the remains burned in Feb 1964. Leeds 277 on LRTL tour in 1948 by Frederick Via Flickr: Another one from a set of amateur photos I have of Leeds City Tramways (LCT) trams where a number are heavily scratched and marked by the unnamed photographer during (I assume) developing. This one is car no 277 showing a 'Special Car' destination blind. 
 On the reverse in nice fountain pen script is written:- "Leeds 277 (ex London). on special LRTL tour Oct 23rd 1948 at Middleton (first time ever)". 
 The LRTL were the Light Railway Transport League which was formed in 1937 and renamed the Light Rail Transit Association (LRTA) in 1979. 
 Car no 277 was originally a London County Council Tramways (LCC) HR/2 class 8 wheel bogie car no 1881 built in 1930 (in service Aug 1930) by English Electric with two trolley poles and an under frame mounted plough carrier seating 28/48 and running on EMB Heavyweight equal wheel bogies. In 1933 LCC were absorbed into the London Passenger Transport Board (LPTB) but unlike many other trams no 1881 kept its number. In 1939 LCT bought three HR/2 (HR standing for 'Hilly Route') trams from LPTB numbered 1881 (Leeds 277), 1883 (Leeds 278), and 1886 (Leeds 279). LCT received no 1881 in Aug 1939 where it was overhauled, repainted pale blue & white, and renumbered 277, going into service Oct 1939 from the Swinegate Depot before moving in 1943/4 to the Headingley Depot. In Jun 1943 it was fitted with a UCC type air-wheel and track brake and folding platform doors, a single destination blind being fitted in Apr 1952. During its lifetime it had four different liveries, Oct 1939 pale blue and white, Jun 1948 light blue and white, Dec 1951 BET red and white lined, and in Feb 1955 red and white unlined. In Oct 1956 no 277 ran into Horsfield car no 171 at Oakwood and being too badly damaged to repair was withdrawn, in Sep 1957 it was burnt at Lowfields Road Permanent Way Yard. 😭 
 There are some photos of no 277 on pages 984/5/6/8/90 in volume 3 of the brilliant series 'Leeds Transport' by Jim Soper.
