I wish more people talked about medically induced depressive disorder. Some people talk about substance induced mania, but it's not the same. I'm never manic, and my midd gets so bad that I literally suffer psychosis as well. It makes me feel very disconnected with reality, and it doesnt help that I feel so alone, like no one else in the world has ever experienced this.

By the way, I'm NOT talking about having depression as a secondary condition to another medical condition, like being depressed because you also have a chronic illness. I'm talking about a form of depressive episode that is not responsive to self care and therapeutic techniques. I'm talking about a reaction in your brain where you only experience the worst parts of depression 24/7 with no relief whatsoever until the biological cause of the episode (usually a reaction to a medication, withdrawal from a medication, or an unrecognized physical illness or infection) is taken care of. It's a specific phenomenon, but right now it looks like I'm the only person on tumblr who's ever had it.

but desmond relation to touch, with his early training, parental figures not necessarily handling that specific part, and his obligations to spend days in the animus surely is completely fucked up

and the day he realizes that he misses that specific part of human interactions is so painful and terrible, he doesn't know what to do. how to express it without sounding miserable?

"Hadron" originates in particle physics, as a term it was introduced in 1962. If he were born in 1962, he wouldve been way too young to be in college with Ford in the 1970s.

Therefore: there is no way that Fiddleford's could have given him that name originally.

This opens a few possibilities:

1. Fiddleford's parents gave him that middle name retroactively for some reason. Like they read about the latest in particle physics somehow, looked at their nine or ten year old son, then decided "this is your middle name now!"

2. Fiddleford is trans, and chose it himself. Deciding to name himself after physics stuff like a giant nerd.

3. Fiddleford is not trans, but for some reason decided to give himself a nerdy middle name anyway. Just because.
