On the other hand, his own nickname was meant to be an insult, he wasn’t one to care much for the fragile feelings of others- especialy ones who had managed to irk his nerves, such as this oddly aggressive child. He was sure the boar had a death wish. The failed attempt at evading his attack did impress him, even if it was just a sad attempt, not many could even attempt such a thing. Though if he truely wished to harm Inosuke he would be able to cut the child down, he knew actually harming him would bring him more trouble than he wished to deal with. What he hadn’t expected was the boar not losing consciousness after how hard he had hit him, he had to admit, the boy was resillient. Thinking the boar was already down he had not anticipated the blade to still graze his shoulder, tearing through the fine silk of his kimono and slicing the top layers of his flesh. Suddenly the air became heavy, almost suffocating as Michikatsu gritted his teeth, his eyes narrowing as he stepped towards the other, his hand reaching down, grasping the boar child by the back of his neck, lifting him from the ground. “Stilll but a pig to me.”

It all meant little to nothing to the moon pillar, he didn’t care what the boar was after as long as he was left unbothered, though that was too much for him to ask for. As the feral child ran towards him, his eyes narrowed, his brow twitchng slightly in annoyance as his hand moved to grip the hilt of his blade in anticipation, though he would not move- not until he felt the boy was close enough. A scoff. Moon man? really? “This is ridiculous, but fine, I shall humor you, pig.” When the distance between them was almost closed Michikatsu let out a calm breath before he finally made his move. In a quick flash he would unsheathe his blade, quickly twisting his body to slam the end of his hilt into the side of the boar child’s head. The man’s speed was almost inhuman- in comparison it made most of the Hashira seem almost slow.

Yes, Richie is TERRIFIED of Max as of now, however, with time Max can go into his redemption arc & genuinely be a better person if he tried. To be a better person, it includes trying to make things maybe just a little better with the ones you hurt. Max and Richie could make up, thought it would take a while to reach dating a friendship could bloom. Showing he's a better person Max could start hanging out with the nerds, proving he doesn't feel the need to harm them to seem "important" anymore. with that, crushes could form. I see it that Richie had some sort of a one sided crush on Max at first, before he became one of the main targets. So, with a little kindness & hopefully hangouts, the crush could slowly form back in Richies mind, and crushes from my pov cause him to admire Max & "love" the person he's becoming. Although it is one sided, it's still a blossoming relationship. Max could continue his redemption arc, genuinely improving his personality & him as a person. I personally HC him as a closeted pansexual, so theres a possiblity for him to catch onto Richies crush, think its cute, & very very slowly develop feelings. They could work in a post-npmd au.

I'm so fixated on Michie is absolutely diabolical guys.... I might just write an entire fanfic who knows. (also this MIGHT not make any sense I was just rambling)

Russian dub yapping

It's my turn to rant on the Russian dub. So, as I previously mentioned, dwk cannot be found on any official sources or streaming services. Therefore, they're not written down at any VAs role list, which means all the following may turn out to be false (although I'm 100% sure on most of them).

Leon (also Michi and this guy with glasses from the Cool kickers)

One of those who I'm 100% sure, because the actress' voice is pretty recognizable. He was voiced by Irina Grishina, an actress and a voice actress. She also voiced Helga from Hey Arnold! in some seasons, Nelson from The Simpsons and younger Tommy from The butterfly effect. Also Pixel and I guess Ziggy at some point from LazyTown.

Jojo, Natasha and Raban (plus background characters)

Also 100% sure on this one. They're voiced by Olga Golovanova, and, yknow, it's the voice that you call your "childhood voice" because this actress voiced quite a lot of movies and cartoons so she has quite many characters. For example, Twilight Sparkle, Fluttershy and Sweetie Belle from My little pony, Daphne from Scooby-Doo, Rhonda from Hey Arnold!, Lady from Lady and the Tramp, Mercury from Sailor Moon and many many more.

Deniz and Markus (also Paul and some other background characters)

Another VA that I'm sure in - Prokhor Chekhovskoy. Also a recognizable voice actor with a lot of background. He voiced Frodo from The Hobbit, Jaskier from Netflix The Witcher series, Ted from The Lorax, Tobias from TAWOG, Marty from Back to the future, Daffy Duck from Looney Tunes show. He also voiced video games characters, like Ralph from Detroit: Become Human, as well as some from League of Legends and Dota 2.

Now to the ones I'm not really sure about. Marlon is supposedly voiced by Irina Kireeva. She's a quite popular actress, but I think she specializes more on films and games. It's Ashley from Mass effect, Zarya from Overwatch, Romka from Russian novella Tiny Bunny, Eivor from Assassin Creed and more.

Willi

Also not sure about him, but people say he's voiced by Daniil Eldarov. He voiced BBC's Sherlock Moriarty, Knuckles and Eggman from Sonic Boom, Captain America in many Marvel movies, Luke Skywalker, etc.

Vanessa

Who voiced her? Shit if I knew. The only one on whom I couldn't find anything, even though I'm pretty sure I heard her voice before. But so far I have nothing on her, if I find out I'll make an update maybe.

Okay, so we're done with that, but may I comment on the quality?? Even though I think rus dub is one of the best dubs for dwk, there are still some errors. Like there were a few times when the actor just changes for one phrase for no reason and you're like wtf?? And it's always Marlon for some reason idk

Like, the first is his normal voice and the rest is.... whatever this is

Also the way they pronounce Kevin (yeah it's English version of names for us) differently every fucking time. Sometimes it sounds like [e] and sometimes it's more like [ye]. It's not that bad but it's kinda annoying.

I want to yap about the Finnish dub of the series so here’s some random facts about it I’ve learned.

The voice actors for the main characters haven’t actually done much work besides this show. Like their resume is just “side voice in one Horrid Henry episode” and that’s it. Expect for Leon’s voice actor, he’s the only one who has done a few other notable voice acting jobs. Also the voice actor for Markus has acted in musical theater a lot so I guess that’s interesting. He also went to the same high school as my sister lmao. On the other hand, the “not main characters but play a more or less major role” such as Willi, Hadschi, Michi and Natasha are all voiced by like very talented and critically acclaimed voice actors?? Like the people who are carrying the entire Finnish dub industry on their shoulders and have played like 50 different roles. Especially Willi’s voice actor caught me off guard cause he’s also an actor and his most well known role is a very iconic character in Finnish popular culture from a very iconic and very long lasting soap opera TV-series. Like what do you mean the actor of Seppo Taalasmaa also voices Willi in the Finnish dub. It breaks my mind.

Also some kinda interesting random facts about the translation (or atleast I find them kinda interesting). They weren’t allowed to say the word “hell” in the dub, which like I get it, it’s a kids show, but there’s so many cool euphemisms to the word hell in Finnish language so the fact that they used none of those is such missed potential. Also when choosing the setting for the series they just like,,, did an almost direct translation of Grünwald?? Like it takes place in a town called Viherlaakso which is an almost direct translation of it. There does actually exist a place called that but it’s like a small and irrelevant section of a bigger town, I honestly think they just went with the almost direct translation and didn’t mean the actual real life place with that name to be the setting cause it just feels so random. Honestly if it was up to me, they would be living in Kerava. That’s a much more accurate setting for this series. Also the s1e10 just never got dubbed. It was just straight up banned for showing “the kind of bullying they didn’t want to show to kids”. Which is kinda weird to me cause yeah Jojo got almost killed but that’s just kind of an average episode of the show. Like why specifically that one was deemed too inappropriate for kids. We will never know for sure.

But yeah all in all, all though the Finnish dub has some miscastings and translation errors I still think it’s honestly pretty good. Idk maybe nostalgia is affecting me but there’s some real talent behind most of the voices and it’s definitely better than the English one. They also did the thing, that for example the Swedish and Italian dubs of the series also did, aka dubbed the opening theme song and honestly, I like the Finnish opening more than the original, it’s such a banger.

yumi is the leader and the lyricist. she’s become so dedicated to being quiet like her mother wants that she hardly ever sings in their music, and when she does it’s almost always background vocals. her voice is soft like nene’s, but when she finally snaps i feel like it’ll deepen (like when she’s angry). yumi’s lyrics always hint that something is deeply wrong, even if she doesn’t notice it herself.

momoku is the choreographer. her performances were what inspired yumi to start writing lyrics again — she wanted something that could be portrayed to the world without being a direct for cry for help, which is exactly what momoku’s performances were for her. momoku’s voice is high, but not breathy — it’s similar to saki’s or ena’s. her expressions are best portrayed through her voice, but her full emotion comes through in the dances she makes. the rest of the group often struggles to keep up with her, but she doesn’t even seem to notice.

michi is the main vocalist. his voice is powerful — he sings with his chest, and even when it seems a bit too strained to be safe he doesn’t mention it. he’s the only one who can match momoku’s lightning-fast dances to her degree, even memorizing each intricacy of the hand movements or footwork. he practices relentlessly, to the point where sometimes he’s staggering around after rehearsal. he nearly left the group after fighting with yumi — he is notoriously stubborn on everything, and her saying he was singing wrong sparked their argument.

chui has a deeper voice — it’s low and always sounds ice-cold. they struggle to keep up more than anyone else, and their spotty attendance at school is indicative of how little energy they have available. they brought michi into the group after being invited by yumi, and were the one to talk some sense into him after he threatened to leave. when they have to be serious, which they try to avoid, people listen. they demand attention, but whether this is intentional or not remains indeterminate.
