Aziraphale (Michael Sheen) is an angel. He runs a bookshop in Soho, London (but refuses outright to sell any books so really it's more like a personal library lmao), dresses like he just time-travelled from the early 20th century, has very soft white curly hair (which literally has not changed styles once in over six thousand years) and enjoys tea, good food, fine wine, reading and listening to classical records. (Fun fact! He also keeps a little gun in one of his books. Yeah this angel is chaotic when he wants to be.)

Crowley (David Tennant) is a demon. More to the point, he was the snake in the Garden Of Eden. He drives a Bentley, listens to Queen and looks like he stepped off the cover of Divorced Dad Rock Magazine, circa nineteen-ninety-something. He wears sunglasses to hide his yellow, snake-like eyes, and has fiery red hair that changes styles at least once a decade. He likes being "low-grade evil" - gluing coins to the pavement, messing with mobile phone networks, that kind of thing. He probably sings in the shower.

And yeah, before you ask, they're super gay and super bad at communicating this to each other (but I'd put actual money on it that literally EVERYONE ELSE IN SOHO knew they were A Thing for years)

Professor Alecai Kainen - He is Andy’s favorite professor at Oxford who teaches the secret wizard students. He is hired when the war starts to lead a team to experiment with magical weapons created by TOWER (@savetheundoneyears) so they can learn to disarm them and make cures for any curses or hexes or effects. He refuses the suggestions of some of the most brilliant minds of the wizard world and instead insists on hiring his students for his team. He does it so they can gain experience, however he starts to regret it later when the dangerous work starts to take his students lives. He always tries to put himself first and protect the students. Audry Kainen - She is the daughter of Alecai and is one of the first women students to attend Oxford lectures without chaperones when the rule is lifted in 1914. She strives to be more than just Professor Kainen’s daughter and tries to prove that she belongs and that she didn’t get there simply by being his daughter. She does love him though and he is very proud of everything she does. He knows she is capable on her own without him. Audry and Andy have a friendship that starts out rocky (as you do when two powerful intelligent people think they are both right) but they end up great friends. She reminds Andy of his sister and she also likes that he isn’t one of the many guys who wants to sleep with her or doubts her because she’s a woman. FC: Jessica Biel

PERSONALITY

Child: Growing up he was afforded a lot of luxury as the Vallens had a lot of money. He also would follow his sister around everywhere and loved when they would play. He was also curious about everything and was given the best tutors and he quickly displayed natural intellect and was gifted like his sister. Once his sister discovered her magic and got her letter, he also wanted to explore magic and soon after he got his own letter. This catapulted his confidence as he knew it was rare for two magical children to come from muggles.

Teenage: During Hogwarts, his success in his studies built his ego even further. He was proud of himself, his intelligence, his family, and magic. He also started to experiment with his appearance as he started adopting a more feminine look. Wherever his sister would go, he wouldn’t be far behind. They became really close as their parents expected them to attend all the fancy rich parties they threw at their estate. They would stick together and gossip and whisper about all the guests as they giggled and joked about people.

Early Adulthood: Andy followed his sister to Oxford University after they graduated Hogwarts. They both were hungry to learn more and soon discovered Oxford University home to both a muggle and secret wizard population. They had the best of both worlds to study. Andy started to feel lonely and sad as he was naive and egotistical and did not talk to anyone. He thought they weren’t like him enough to be worth getting to know them. He did not really mean for it to be rude, but he just didn’t think about it. Once the First World War breaks out, he starts to grow up a bit more and learns to separate himself from his rich and gifted upbringing and he gains friendships in the team founded by his wizard Professor that experiments with magical weapons and whose goal is to disarm and find cures for them. He ends up watching half of his team die horrible deaths in accidents with the weapons.

Late Adulthood: After the first war, Andy finishes his studies. Instead of becoming a professor at Oxford or Hogwarts (he’s offered many jobs from both), he decides to try to help the less fortunate receive education. He moves to a small country town and teaches classic literature to muggles. He tries to escape the wizard world a bit because of his experience with dangerous magic and may have PTSD. When the Second World War starts, he is offered a job again from the wizard world which he immediately turns down. He no longer has the ego and ambition to be a hero. Instead, he keeps teaching and also protects his students. He would also shelter and help refugees escape while making sure children still receive safe education and not be forced to fight.

The Good Omens thing about Doctor Who being a film/ thing in the universe…

I tried to make a dumb little comic about it, but I’m struggling to draw David Tennant and Michael Sheen, so I thought I’d just explain it instead. (Boring, I know. :\ )

In my mind, it’s not entirely that Crowley uses “David Tennant” as an alias in that world, and played The Doctor, but rather that they both exist at the same time.

I always imagined that David was just minding his business, when people kept saying they saw him out in SoHo. Saying hypotheticals like “weird… Your hair was red in SoHo,” or “back already! What role were you doing?”

At some point he delves in a bit more (lots of help from Georgia) and finds he has a red-haired, goth, doppelgänger out in SoHo, who hangs out with a very 1940’s Michael Sheen.

In an interview together (for Staged or something, idk) David gets asked about it, and mentions that his double hangs out with Michael for some reason. Michael says that he also has no idea what’s going on, but they just kind of brush it off because neither of them are impersonators, so eh. Why ruin it?

Meanwhile, Crowley did audition for The Doctor role, around when David did, but he was replaced by David for some goofy reason. Since the new hairdo, (seen in Season 1) he keeps getting humans asking him for pictures and autographs. He’s really confused, but goes with it because it’s funny. Signs it as “Crowley,” or sometimes as “Antony” for fun, which confuses humans.

This goes on from about 2019, dying down a bit in 2020, to 2023, when Season 2 starts and he’s got the curly bits on top. He thought it was funny, but that’s about it.

No body really talks about it.

Not saying that I don’t think Crowley and David being the same person isn’t great, it’s just what I thought of when I figured it out. :]

Hiya! For the Good Omens Ask Game - questions 2, 10, 15 and 22!

Hiya! How are you, honey? I’m so glad you asked! Sit down and take a cold drink, iced tea? Juice? Smoothie? Let’s answer those questions, shall we?

2. What was it that drew you to Good Omens, and what was it that sucked you into the fandom?

What drew me to the book about 20 years ago was that it was written by Terry Pratchett. I didn't know Neil Gaiman yet. I loved the book and that drew me to the show. Last year I remembered they had made the series. I watched the first season and loved it even more than the book, because, come on, that series is a work of art. The story is amazing but what Michael Sheen and David Tennant have done with Aziraphale and Crowley is just beyond words. I learned there was a second season. And that sealed my future. Somewhere between s2e2 and s2e3 I was so hooked I couldn't stop watching. But I think what sucked me into the fandom’s downwards spiral and the never ending brainrot was the final fifteen. That scene changed my brain chemistry for good and after that moment I haven't been able to think of anything other than these two idiots and the good omens universe.

10. What traits do you share with Crowley?

Just like Crowley I’m a nervous wreck trying to hide it from the rest of the world, so anxiety is one of our shared traits. Also curiosity, critical thinking, dislike of hierarchy and questioning orders and authority. You’ll be happy to know I don’t kill kids either, so that’s another trait Crowley and I share. I also love Aziraphale, but I reeeeally love them both, so idk if it counts as a shared trait. Unfortunately I’m not an optimist deep down.

15. If you could be besties with anyone from the Good Omens universe, who would it be?

That’s a difficult one. I’d give an arm to be besties with Aziraphale or Crowley, just like anyone would do. Aziraphale is so tender and caring and, deep down, such a bitchy bastard. On the other hand, Crowley is a captivating demon and if I were besties with him I’d probably get to meet Hozier, which would also be amazing.

But other than the ineffables, I’d love to be besties with Tracy, as I find she is a fascinating, strong woman and she seems to be so fun. I'm sure there wouldn't be any dull moments with her.

22. Bildad The Shuhite: hot or not?

Short answer: hot! I find Crowley/Crawley hot as hell in any circumstance whatsoever.

Long answer: Well, it depends on the POV. In the scenes at Job's house (at the patio, the cellar), which I take as Aziraphale's POV, Bildad is hot, hot, hot! With that long, curly hair he's really Bildaddy, you know what I mean.

In the rest of the scenes (which I take as Crowley's POV) with the shorter, frizzy hair he's hot but in a funny way.

starting with an EASY 1. martin whitly. HORRIBLE person, even WORSE father, hurt malcolm very badly and fucked ainsley up in ways i had to write ten thousand words about, but regularly made me belly-laugh with his delivery of some lines. michael sheen can command a surprising amount of upsetting gravitas for a man with fluffy, curly hair and a cardigan (being chained to the wall helps). rip prodigal son, gone too soon

2. silco. is he a bad person? undoubtedly. are his motivations interesting, complex, and deeply grounded in a way that doesn’t compromise the setting? YEAH. he was a STELLAR villain for season 1 of arcane and i am so excited to see what they do with him wrt jinx’s hallucinations in season 2. also, he’s Very fun to put in aus (i haven’t forgotten knife’s edge of desire okay i’m working on it it’s just fighting me every step of the way).

3. gortash. the man is kind of nothing to me but his dynamic with durge can be kinda compelling, if you want to play in that space (been thinking of doing so for pre-game dardove, though she would kill him without hesitation once they reunite in act 3). mostly this high because some of the people who like him draw the most beautiful art i’ve ever seen + the fact that he can kick you if you “accidentally” hit him after allying with him is SO funny.

4. meredith. she’s actually wildly compelling to me as a character and when i eventually get around to making a pro-templar hawke, i’ll probably explore her more, but like. miss ma’am the templars under your command were doing some Really Bad things! all my hawkes HATE her (even the diplomatic ones; it’s one of VERY few places rose chooses aggressive dialogue options)

5. the joker. i might boot up injustice 2 to kill him again

i think in good omens 3 it should start off with aziraphale just completely out of his mind with stress and he'll look just like michael sheen but with white hair, but the same curly dishevelled vibe

But then I look at actual screenshots from the show and remember Michael Sheen’s hair isn’t actually curly but my mental image of Aziraphale is so ingrained I think it is lol
