📽️ The Bourne Legacy (2012)

I didn’t think I would like this movie because I love the original Bourne trilogy, and Matt Damon isn’t in this. I was very pleasantly surprised by how much I ended up enjoying it. I was only able to watch about half of it the first night, and I spent the whole next day thinking about it and wanting to finish it. Even when I had finished it, I couldn’t stop thinking about it. It’s not like it’s the best movie I’ve ever seen or even that it’s better than the original trilogy, but there’s something to it that really caught my attention and held it. The one gripe I have is that the ending left it open for another movie, but there hasn’t been another one. Other than that, this is a super solid movie.

Sex/nudity: 1/10 (maybe a shirtless guy?, there really wasn’t anything)

Language: 2/10 (really mild, especially for an action movie)

Violence: 7/10 (blood, shooting, fighting, car chases and crashes, death)

Overall rating: 7/10

All the drawings I did in the art stream I just finished! I haven't advertised it much on here but I DO in fact have a Twitch! Anyway yeah uh my tablet decided it's done working today so there were a lot of technical difficulties(hence why all the drawings looks so weird) but overall the stream went pretty well I think :)

Malex Bourne Legacy AU - What They Make You Give, Chapter 10

There are changes to Alex’s body. He’s seen them before, tracked them when Alex came by the lab. But seeing him moving in the wild, it’s impossible not to notice how Alex’s always-capable body is slightly leaner, muscles slightly more pronounced from the changes the program has wrought upon his frame. It’s not some type of Steve Rogers Captain America bullshit- the changes are more subtle than that. Project Shepherd’s purpose had been utility and practical capability, not setting obvious Hollywood thirst traps.

Still, Alex’s physique is something he won’t pretend he doesn’t notice. That his mouth doesn’t go dry sometimes when the attraction catches him unprepared. It’s a double-edged sword though, because it’s all a reminder of how much has changed. How much they’ve had to give and sacrifice. How much has been taken… right down to the shape of their bodies, the style of their hair.

One of the first things Michael did to change his appearance at the cabin was cut his own hair back to the length where his curls are free again. He’d also shaved the scraggly beard that he had grown to become the stereotype of a cerebral science nerd. But he still chafes under the aesthetic choices he’d had to make to go undercover, and what they represent. Alex’s leaner, trimmer, even more military-issue body is unsettling as much as it is hot, a constant reminder of the changes they’ve both undergone. It’s all a complete mindfuck.

Alex, of course, has no such hangups, because he doesn’t have the memories to go with them. Whatever he is thinking is battened down behind his impenetrable expression and the ever-present careful blankness of his features.

So alle 20 Jahre produziert Cameron Mackintosh eine Sondheim-Revue. Und zwar immer mit Julia McKenzie, die deshalb  für diese letzte, besonders prächtige namens Stephen Sondheim’s Old Friends, die halt leider zur Gedenkveranstaltung wurde, nach 20 Jahren erstmals wieder auf einer Bühne steht (das heißt ihr Auftritt in The Philadelphia Story, wo wir sie gesehen haben war wahrscheinlich der letzte), sie wirkt aber recht munter. Einige von Sondheims Alten Freunden sind natürlich inzwischen tatsächlich sehr alt, besonders zu erwähnen ist die 89-jährige Petula Clark, die jetzt wirklich mal befugt ist, I’m Still Here zu singen (sie ist inzwischen 90, haben wir leider verpasst, wäre natürlich ein prima Vorwand gewesen, Finian’s Rainbow anzuschauen...), die unverzichtbare Bernadette und viele, viele Londoner Theaterlegenden, von denen wir einige auch schon auf der Bühne sehen durften (einige sogar in Sondheim-Shows). Es ist wunderbar.
