The journey of this sex tape is so unhinged like nick records the audio. Uses it as torture porn for a bit. Then he plays it for sand. Sand also doesn’t tell anyone for a while. Sand then gets particularly pissed off at top so he concocts this whole plan to acquire the tape so that he can give it to ray because he knows ray will tell mew about it. Ray gives it to mew. Mew then uses it to give top a heart attack while pretending they’re going to have sex. It’s like a demented game of hot potato.

I feel bad for Top

I don't like his cocky ass, but I feel bad for the strange way his slut shaming keeps playing out.

I started to feel bad for him in the second episode when Boston cornered him in the shower.

And although I still don't know where I stand on his story of the childhood fire, it's very clear that Top disassociates during sex.

Good for Force's facial journey, but Top doesn't enjoy sex, which makes his story about the fire seem more plausible, as if sex is just a means to an end - a body to help him sleep at night.

Because when he was in the car with Boston, he started breathing heavily while Boston was getting closer, yet it didn't read like the kind of sexual tension breathing, but the kind that precedes a panic attack.

Perhaps Top suffers from untreated anxiety, and he copes with it through sex and pills.

I know some people don't like me saying it, but Boston is a predator who is exploiting everyone's weaknesses.

He knows what makes these people vulnerable, and he feeds on it.

He is targeting fragile people.

And enjoys it.

He, once again, trapped Top so he couldn't leave.

Now I'm worried that the more Boston traps Top, the more excessive Top will be when coping. If he already sleeps around to the extent he does to disconnect, how far will he go with the pills to escape?

But it seems like he is a pawn to everyone.

And I wonder what that does to a person. To know that he is just a body. Just a commodity used for his body.

Instead of a being a fully realized person, he is a checklist of items.

And even when he says no, people don't listen because why would a slut say no?

And when Top looks uncomfortable being approached even as the guy himself calls Mew his boyfriend, the guy still offers Top sex.

Which is probably why he respects people's boundaries since nobody respects his.

So whatever issues are between him and Sand probably deal with 1) sex and 2) boundaries since those are Top's weak spots. Pure speculation, but I think Top is looking for a fight. If he feels like his life is out of his control then feeling physical pain could be one way to gain back that control especially if he plans for the pain to happen.

And I also wonder what he will feel like to question Mew about his relationship with Ray and have Mew offer up sex to him.

Because why would a slut need anything else?

Boston's position in front of Mew, Mew leading with his hips are he stood before rejecting Boston's offer of anything and swearing he isn't as nasty or awful as him, the shock on Boston's face as he is forced to stand up and meet Mew's eyes straight on, Boston raising himself from that low position and willingness, just all of it there's just so much and this is the first time that Boston has felt like this is serious, like this might really matter, like he might truly lose his friends and his life before he has to lose them and that what he is losing might be more than he thought.

ngl boeing and boston showing up in the preview together for next week's episode had me laughing out loud because it just took me so off guard

like say what you will about the plot cohesion and character arcs etc. etc. and it's all fair! but also objectively i must admit that it is soooo funny to me that boeing was introduced to the show purely to be yeeted around from one couple to the next like he's Only Friends' gay version of a final boss level enemy that each pairing must battle against in order to win their happy relationship endgames

this scene is more heartbreaking than you think it is. and it doesn't have to do with mew not being a virgin (it's always been a perk, not the point), it's that mew has been lying to him. (read: he hasn't. boston is obviously lying.)

and specifically it's that mew is lying to him about wanting to get to know him.

it's about being used by mew, like so many people (especially boston) have used him before. and not just for the normal stuff, his money or his body or his status, which he might have been able to ignore, but specifically for another guy. it wasn't even about top, as an idea let alone as a person, it was about making some other guy jealous.

every private moment, every smile, every kiss, every hug, every tease and flirt, every date, every touch was never theirs. top could have been anyone.

it's gotta be the cruelest thing boston could do to him. it's gotta be the most hurt he's ever been.

everyone tells him who he is, even mew did, but mew's the first one who asked. who said he wanted to know top better.

but apparently that was a lie.

boston's right, he thinks, why would mew care if he slept with someone else? top means nothing to mew. top means nothing. top is nothing.

top is left alone and the room is full of smoke and he can't breathe.

but there is boston, as if he hadn't fabricated the whole thing, there to "comfort" him. top doesn't have time to question if it's true or not, he just knows that boston is one of mew's closest friends, ray is definitely into mew, and there's apparently even (fake) evidence. so top turns to him, he yields to him.

because it's the closest he'll ever get to not being alone, choking on smoke. because top doesn't know what it's like to be loved for who he is. and now, because of boston, he thinks he never will.

I gotta sleep on this finale and coalesce my thoughts, but this episode went to the greatest lengths to have each and every one of the characters tell Boston that he should "improve" himself. That his current character is not palatable to anyone -- his "friends", his boyfriend.

Boston was ostracized, isolated and berated to the point that it completely shattered his sense of self. He went from this

This is where the show left him -- alone, dejected, and questioning every single part of identity. And I am raging mad about this.
