Figure-Rise Amplified MetalGreymon X-Antibody (Virus) Custom
Welcome to week two of MetalGreyMonth. The month where I talk about MetalGreymon for four weeks. Because the stockpile was the right size. Anyway-
When I went over my top 10 favorite Digimon, MetalGreymon X Virus was pretty high up the list, so when they revealed that the Amplified version was going to come with the parts to do X's Alteros with the rotating claw, I felt the urge to do it in the appropriate colors.
The Details: A lot of the changes here are pretty obvious, such as the blue skin and purple stripes, but there are a few more subtle details, all of which were done to emulate X Virus' colors. The gold horns, a lot of the added metallic blue, the red and blue piping, the silver teeth and nails.
Some things I should probably bring more attention to are the purple marks on the silver, which were put there to represent some of X Virus' purple metal parts. The purple and gold on the chest is also supposed to emulate the cannon that's usually there. The silver knees and feet are meant to copy its metal plating in those locations. And the wings are done in silver and pink to mimic the jets and flames usually there. I wanted to do something with the actual stickers there, but my tests didn't go that well, so I just went with them as is.
Overall, this was a really fun custom to work on. I haven't recolored a kit into an existing color scheme in quite a few years. This might also be the largest custom I've done to date. It's excellent practice for my next big custom project, but we'll hopefully get to that later in MetalGreyMonth...
(And now I've given myself a time limit. This won't end well.)

Digimons that are most likely the legend level, aka the level beyond ultra/super ultimate, if it existed
Megadarknessbargamon (an enhanced form of the original darknessbargamon, a powered up version of darknessknightmon after bargamon took over the fusion, much larger and much more powerful, was however oneshot, by Shoutmon x7f superior mode, which managed to oneshot zeedmillenimumon, so we don’t know how powerful megadarknessbargamon actually is)
Shoutmon ex6 (fusing six digimon that are at least prefect/ultimate, zeekgreymon, which is a digivolved form of metalgreymon (2010), made up of greymon (2010) and mailbirdmon, omnishoutmon, raptorsparrowmon, jagerdorulumon, and alturballistamon, and can use shootingstarmon as a weapon too.)
Ultimatechaosmon (a fusion between chaosmon, being fusion between a bancho, bancholeomon, and the secret weapon of the d brigade, darkdramon, as well as two other mega level digimon, which inculde a royal knight, kentaurosmon, and the god of bird digimon, valdurmon.)
Huanglongmon (same situation as ultimate chaosmon.)
Abaddomon Core (abaddomon seems to be close to the power of ultra, and its core was able to trade blows with Omnimon and omnimon alter s.)
Haunglongmon Ruin Mode (huanglongmon but not holding back and corrupted.)
Ogudomon (the seven demon lords fused together into one, this is not even counting their x antibody.)
Susanoomon (10 digimon are literally apart of susanoomon, and it can recreate the world.)
Omnimon Merciful Mode (clapped ordinemon as soon as it was formed, which Omnimon struggled with, plus also has the power of all the digidestined.)
Ogudomon X (now imagine Ogudomon with the x antibody, which was created by 7 diaboromon x absorbing the power of the seven demon lords in their x antibody form, was only defeated by Jesmon GX, how has access to the OS Generics, allowing them to defy physics and was given the powers of all the x antibody royal knights.)
Zeedmillenniummon (with their bands no longer around them definitely, that’s why they are around them, as they are so powerful, no digimon could even stand a chance to match them, only the digidestined were able to stop it after they gained the power form digimon across the digital world.)
Shoutmon x7 superior mode (the fusion between a huge amount of digimon, all across the digital world, so many infact, that their body couldnt take in all the digimon, causing the remaining digimon to rotate around them, Shoutmon x7 superior mode is able to one shot a digimon that is definitely a level beyond ultra, Ultimatechaosmon, and could probably have also defeated zeedmillenniummon too.)
Gaiamon (imagine if a digimon fused with an entire planet, that would get you Gaiamon, no digimon has achieved it before, but if they did, they would probably be stronger than even Shoutmon x7f superior mode, who has oneshot unbound zeedmillenniummon.)

So after I posted this and thought it over (because Digimon and Pokemon are my life), I can explain exactly how all of those "chains OP wants to have" do in fact exist in Digimon. The problem is they don't tend to occur neatly in one single piece of media. Considering all Digimon media ever produced though?
Maximum Bifurcation: Actually the majority of Digimon lines at the simplest level. You start with a single creature- say, a Koromon- which can become Agumon or Betamon. If Agumon has two evolutions (Greymon, Tyrannomon) and Betamon also has two evolutions (Seadramon, Airdramon), it's an example of this. Not counting overlapped evolutions, this is exactly how the original Digimon V-pet worked.
Maximum Trifurcation: Just an extension of the above example. While not possible in the original V-pet (with only three Ultimates), a hypothetical V-pet where Greymon, Tyrannomon, Seadramon, and Airdramon each have two exclusive evolutions would count. And boy- do they have options. (here are some in order- MetalGreymon and SkullGreymon, MasterTyrannomon and MetalTyrannomon, WaruSeadramon and MegaSeadramon, Megadramon and Gigadramon. Yes these were basically from the top of my head.)
Uneven Bifurcation: The bane of my existence as a Digimon OC creator. Digimon given to fan characters ideally should have a complete line from Fresh or In-Training (the lowest stages) to Mega (the highest, generally). For the folks at home- this is a minimum five stage evolution line. But not all Digimon can neatly do this, ruining potential lines for OCs. For example, Burpmon results from any overfed Digimon in the Digimon Twin pet, but cannot evolve further. However, each Digimon has at least one path they can still continue on. This is all over the place, usually with less popular Digimon (there are over 1000).
Two Stage Convergence: There's actually a name for this- DNA Digivolution in the dub or Jogress in Japanese. Two Digimon will fuse into one new Digimon. For example, ExVeemon and Stingmon can become either Palidramon or Dinobeemon via this method.
Three Stage Convergence: Thanks to DNA Digivolution and really fucky lines, this is possible! Armadillomon can become Angemon or Anklyomon. These two Digimon can fuse again into Shakkoumon.
Three Stage Recursive: This is possible once we consider forms of the same Digimon as different species. Omnimon- itself a DNA digivolution- has a metric fuckton of recolors, and can evolve into all of them. One is Omnimon (X Antibody), which can become Omnimon Alter-S, which can revert back into Omnimon.
???: This happens whenever the Digimon has a split personality (yes that's a thing). The most recent example is Gammamon and GulusGammamon in Ghost Game. SPOILERS but- the lovable Gammamon is a split personality of the evil GulusGammamon. They're different species, but share a body. That's the closest I can get to ??? without returning to rehashing different recolors.
Okay, That's Just Digimon: Yes and no. There's two basic forms there, and every Digimon chain- at its heart- begins with one single Digimon (even if it's just a baby). Digimon lines are more likely to intersect, fuse, rely on different modes (which function as new species) and just give you a headache.
TL;DR- You just want Digimon.
pokémon evolution chains we need

Propaganda under cut, oh and also SPOILERS!
Marceline:
Even before becoming a Vampire she could defeat The Court of The Vampire King who are superior to "Stakes" Finn And Jake, jake being powerful enough to defeat Rock Wizard who could summon Meteors, and both of them can Dodge to The Ice King's lightning at close range,
Killed all other vampires in ooo,
Is (Likely) far older and more experienced than Myotismon,
Held her own in battle against the GOLB enhanced Gumball Guardian, a normal Gumball Guardian can injure The Lich who killed a Citadel Guardian which can defeat Cosmic criminals some of whom can destroy planets,
May be comparable albeit inferior to her father who is rivals with The Lich,
Can't be killed by anything except sunlight, holy Water, Wooden Stakes Etc.
Myotismon:
Effortlessly defeated 6 Ultimate (Perfect) Digimon including MetalGreymon whose attacks are comparable to Nukes, (The other 5 Ultimate (Perfect) Digimon are comparable to MetalGreymon),
Is likely much faster than even the fastest of Champion (Adult/Rare) digimon like Pegasusmon X (Pegasmon X-Antibody) who Can move at Hypersonic speeds,
Is far more powerful than Snimon Who can cut through anything,
Potentially comparable in speed to Rapidmon Who Can move at Near-light-Speed,
Sunlight doesn't kill him only weakens him,

I haven’t posted about Encyclopedia updates since September of last year but this one warranted a post since Greymon X (Blue) wasn’t a thing in Pendulum X despite Agumon X (Black), MetalGreymon X (Virus) and BlackWarGreymon X all being a thing by then.
This X-Antibody variant seems to be drawing from not only regular Greymon (Blue) but Greymon (Xros Wars) as well.

Fifth Review: Digimon Top 10
I’ve been really enjoying Digimon Ghost Game, I don’t have anything else to write about this month, and Top 10s are fun, so here’s my Top 10 Favorite Digimon. Because.
NUMBER 10: OmegaShoutmon X-Antibody
It may be obvious to people who frequent my reviews that I really like Shoutmon. A well-developed Digimon with a toy-centric gimmick I enjoy, and a very shiny evolution introduced half-way through the show to add to that gimmick. OmegaShoutmon ends up winning out over Shoutmon and his kingly evolution because I like the design more, and the X-Antibody version wins out over that for the same reasons. It’s definitely a bit over-designed, but I can’t help but want to see this thing Digi Xros’d with something to see how crazy it can get.
NUMBER 9: Bastemon
I just think she’s cute. Also, I really enjoy her portrayal in Xros Wars, where she’s incredibly lazy 90% of the time, but can occasionally get really heated when she needs to. Her fight against Chuchumon, even though we don’t see it, is probably my favorite joke from that season.
NUMBER 8: Omedamon
I don’t like April Fool’s Day. It’s a lot of really dumb jokes, most of them half-hearted, and very little of it I find interesting. Omedamon, however, is the exception. A crossover between Digimon and Medarot (Medabots) that wasn’t just fun, goofy art, but both Omedamon and the eventual 3 new Medarots (across two years) are usable units in both series’ mobile games. Not only did we get several great designs introduced into two franchises, but they were canonized. I wish more companies were willing to do this kind of thing.
NUMBER 7: Omegamon Alter-S
Omegamon/Omnimon is definitely one of the most popular Digimon overall, and I like them as well. Every time I watch Children’s War Game, I well up a bit at the scene where their body is forming from the wishes of all the world’s children. Their design has also been replicated many times, both in series with Digimon like Chaosmon, Omedamon, and Shoutmon, and parodied in other series as well. Unfortunately for Omegamon standard, design always wins out over nostalgia with me, and Alter-S is a cooler design in my opinion. Replacing the familiar WarGreymon/MetalGarurumon combo with the (IMO) more interesting BlitzGreymon and CresGarurumon, they swaps the usual arm weapons and adopts a more dark appearance. I also love how they used them in Adventure:, with the dual-wield moments and final reveal against Abbadomon. An improvement on an already great design.
NUMBER 6: Dukemon (Amplified) (Art by @/Asmaria_)
Out of every evolution gimmick introduced throughout the many season of Digimon, above-and-beyond, my favorite has always been Bio-Merging. It’s the ultimate extension of the partner concept focused on in the first three seasons, and several after. And while I like all four of the Lv.6 Digimon that utilize this mechanic, Dukemon/Gallantmon is my favorite. The knight aesthetic is great, his moment of evolution and following fight are the strongest, and like many of the Digimon on this list, he has many iterations to choose your favorite from. Mine, unsurprisingly, is the model kit version. It’s still Dukemon, but with a higher level of detail and a lot more sharp edges. Just a great design.
NUMBER 5: MetalGreymon (Virus) X-Antibody
It’s not that I don’t like the original MetalGreymon, but his design isn’t that interesting to me. I like that he resembles his previous form, which not every evolution from season 1 does, but he isn’t as compelling to me as many of the other Greymon evolutions we’ve gotten, including Greymon himself. Virus X takes that uninteresting design and evolves it in a way I really enjoy, with the flaming hair and wings, increased metal parts, and especially the Alterous. It’s a rotating arm that can form MetalGreymon’s usual claw, or 180 and become a large cannon. It’s so cool that they gave it to MetalGreymon standard in Adventure: as a power-up. A fantastic upgrade to an originally meh design.
NUMBER 4: Pulsemon (Art by @/gebofrog38)
An aspect of the games that never truly integrated itself into the shows until recently is a Digimon’s ability to have multiple evolutions. We saw moments here and there, like SkullGreymon and Megidramon, but they were one-offs; active mistakes caused by the Digimons’ Tamers. Then came the Vital Brace and Pulsemon, a Digimon designed specifically to not only have branching lines, but a branching web of evolutions. Since his introduction, we got a few more situational evolutions in Adventure: and it’s Gammamon’s main gimmick in Ghost Game. It’s a Digimon with a gimmick that it did so well it inspired copycats.
NUMBER 3: Shoutmon X3
Again, I like Shoutmon. I always thought he was ok, but then I got my hands on the Xros Figures and my opinions of both him and how much went into his design skyrocketed. As I somewhat jokingly pushed the idea of him getting a model kit in the ongoing lines, I ended up becoming more and more serious to the point that I will be legitimately sad if I never handle a decent toy of this design in my lifetime. As for why I specifically chose X3, it’s because it’s the unencumbered base design without the Star Sword. While I like how it incorporates Shoutmon’s weapon as a handle, I’ve always thought the Star Sword was a bit goofy. Still, a great design that hits me right in my love of toys.
NUMBER 2: Gaioumon Burst Mode (Art by @/Asmaria_)
Gaioumon has some interesting history behind him. He was originally designed to be BlackWarGreymon X-Antobody, but the design team thought he looked so much cooler than WarGreymon X that they opted to make him his own Digimon and BWGX a recolor in order to not overshadow one of their flagship characters. That being said, you’re probably confused as to why Gaioumon has a Burst Mode, a gimmick exclusive to four-and-a-half Digimon from Digimon Savers...
He doesn’t, actually. Gaioumon Bust Mode is non-canon. Turns out Gaioumon is actually the favorite Digimon of semi-frequent series collaborated As’maria, who created the above art, as well as the original Gaioumon. So it’s a fan character, but that fan works on the actual series.
On a fun side note, within the most recent run of X-Antibody Digimon we got Gaioumon: Itto Mode, who bears a number in interesting similarities to this design, such as the gold horns, scarred eyes, and stomach teeth. An unofficial design so cool that it eventually wormed its way into some form of canonicity. Heck yeah.
NUMBER 1: MetalGreymon (Xros Wars)
Yes, MetalGreymon is on here twice, I’m not sorry.
A lot of points I’ve made previously on this list apply to this choice. It’s a toy-centric redesign that improves upon a lackluster original. It has a high amount of detail, three different evolutions, and something I haven’t been able to talk about thus far is I love its art. While it’s hard to find the old Xros Wars art at a good size, I love the thick outlines and the sketchy style of it. It’s because I like this design so much that I started painting the Xros Figures Greymon I got, and subsequently the rest of the line, to be more show accurate, and why I’m so sad I haven’t been able to find MailBirdramon to complete it. I’ve even been planning to commission art of a Xros Wars WaruMonzaemon that integrates with it to form a Xros Wars WarGreymon once I get both in hand to be able to fully understand the parts layout (I’m not the biggest fan of ZekeGreymon). There’s just so much going on that makes me like it. It may not be your favorite, but it’s the perfect Digimon for me.
Thanks for reading my ramblings about Digimon. It was fun analyzing why I liked all these designs so much. I know my concept over nostalgia mentality isn’t something most people will agree with, but that’s just how I think, and maybe this gave you a slight idea of how my brain works.

Would Kazuki's Greymon digivolve into a MetalGreymon off the bat or would any anxiety and self-doubt of his cause it to turn into a SkullGreymon instead?
I'm not entirely sure for two reasons. The first is Kazuki's partner is an X-Antibody Digimon, and SkullGreymon doesn't have an X-Antibody form.
The second, while yes the feelings of a human affects their partner's Digivolution, we see SkullGreymon through Tai's anger and forcefulness for Greymon to digivolve. I see that connected to SkullGreymon.
is it possible Kazuki's Greymon X could digivolve into something based on Kazuki's anxiety. I'm very much open to the idea. it's a matter of which Digimon would work best for him. Who knows maybe it would be SkullGreymon.

A few things I would like to get out about this week episode is;
One; I'll be writing my reviews like this now since it's easier and I like it
Two; I was expecting a Yamato centric episode, not a Takeru centric episode, which I am very, very, very fine with. Like really fine with. His debut episode didn't feel like his debut episode since he was unconscious half of it
Three; I love seeing digimon's interacting and protecting other children who they are not partnered with, that's why is was as refreshing seeing Gabumon vowing to protect Takeru until they find Poyomon as seeing the other digimon's being so clingy to Meiko
Four;
Taichi: I can't believe Yamato's brother turned out to be the partner
Then you most certainly won't believe when your own sister turns out to be the second holy digimon's partneer
Five; Devimon straight up said he'll kill Takeru so the Holy Digimon will be even more corrupted and no one reacted at all. Not even our overly protective Yamato who doesn't seem to be that overprotective now
Six; Yes, they are finally fleshing out the Crest Of Hope. In the OG, he only used his crest once and it didn't really feel like Hope to me. Now, he vowed to never give up which gave hope to WereGarurumon to never give up and guess who got his power-up?
Seven; WereGarurumon changes modes to Sagittarius Mode (talk abt him later) and AxeKnightmon dies (at least for now) and the entire castle gets dimoloshed by...Poyomon. The egg hatched and a baby did a whole ton of damage. Instead of Angemon using his Heaven's Knuckle and the power of the seven digivices, Devimon will die by Tokomon biting his hand.
Eight; WereGarurumon Sagittarius Mode is so much cooler than I thought he looked. IMO, I like him much better than MetalGreymon AM. Not only can he use his wings to fly, but he can also use them as a sword and gun.
Nine; WereGarurumon having a fashion check in his enclyopedia? Seems legit
Ten; Judging by the "Which Digimon is next?" part in the enclyopedia, I really do hope that Lillymon will be getting a new mode too! But I've been wondering what will it be. WereGarurumon and MetalGreymon got their new modes bases off of their X-Antibody, but what will a ribbon do? Maybe she'll get the vines from Rosemon X?
Eleven; Oh my god, too many points! NeoDevimon is making (I think) his first animated appearance next ep! Seems like the theories came true. And Tokomon! Little tiny with teeth's-that-are-probably-bigger-than-him Tokomon! I hope he stays for a while. He's my favourite In training and I really love in-training's

Talking about discontrolled evolutions. I had this headcannon: The very first time Vinnie's Agumon (by the way did you knew you can nickname a Digimon?) evolves to MetalTyranomon, he discontrols and becomes wildly, Dakota couldn't control him, until Taomon and MetalGreymon X-Antibody defeat him. Then Savannah says: "Dakota, the next time, have better control of your pet.". And yeah, Brick and Savannah keep reminding the discontrol MetalTyranomon caused.
Dakota just grins sheepishly and shrugs - Though he mentally notes to take better care of his partner and help him so he adjusts to his new form

Check Out Digimon's Latest Breed Of Dark Monsters
Digimon is a Japanese media franchise encompassing virtual pet toys, anime, manga, video games, films and a trading card game. The franchise focuses on Digimon creatures, which are monsters living in a "Digital World", a parallel universe that originated from Earth's various communication networks.
The Digimon series was originally conceived by Bandai, Toei Animation, and WiZ in 1997 as a way to capitalize on the virtual pet craze sparked by Tamagotchi. The franchise focus on its titular "Digital Monsters," monsters that live in a parallel, digital world that came from mankind's technology. The franchise had its first anime adaptation, Digimon Adventure, which focuses on a group of children known as the DigiDestined (or "Chosen Children" in Japan) that are transported to the world of Digimon and have to fight the various evil digital beasts that roam the land.
Currently scheduled for a release February 21, 2020 in Japan, Tomohisa Taguchi will be directing the 20th Anniversary movie, Digimon Adventure Last Evolution Kizuna, for Toei Animation. Akatsuki Yamatoya returns from the original series to write the screenplay, Seiji Tachikawa will serve as chief animation director, Hiromi Seki returns from the original series to serve as supervisor, Katsuyoshi Nakatsuru returns as character designer, and Kenji Watanabe returns as the Digimon designer.
The franchise was first created in 1997 as a series of virtual pets, akin to—and influenced in style by—the contemporary Tamagotchi or nano Giga Pet toys. The creatures were first designed to look cute and iconic even on the devices' small screens; later developments had them created with a harder-edged style influenced by American comics. The franchise gained momentum with its first anime incarnation, Digimon Adventure, and an early video game, Digimon World, both released in 1999. Several seasons of the anime and films based on them have aired, and the video game series has expanded into genres such as role-playing, racing, fighting, and MMORPGs. Other media forms have also been released.
No, the Digimon have not been taken over by the Venom symbiote. Instead, the Digimon series is unleashing "Dark Monsters", digital monsters that have been exposed to the X-Antibody and given them much darker and more ferocious appearances. In the franchise, the server that houses the digital monsters is known as Yggradsil, which is the "World Tree" as fans of Thor and Norse mythology may already be aware. To curtail the overall population, Program X was instituted to destroy 99 percent of the population, though some Digimon were immune. Enter the "Dark Digimon".
Reddit User MFBR managed to share six examples of Digimon that have been exposed to the X-Antibody, creating new more powerful and far more sinister looking interpretations of the digital monsters themselves:
These "Dark mons" plan to make their presence known in the upcoming handheld games/Digimon simulators: Digimon X2 V-Pets. Releasing with both a red and purple version, these darker Digimon, that are shown in the pictures above, include Agumon X, MetalGreymon X, Ogremon X, Vamdemon X, LadyDevimon X, and Mephismon X. We're sure that based on the popularity and fan reception of these various creatures, these darker Digimon could re-appear within the franchise.
The V-Pets themselves will retail for around $36 USD from Bandai Spirits, with a tentative release date of December of this year, 2019. Pre-orders have officially begun through Bandai so if you're a big fan of the digital monster franchise, you'd best hop on these before they sell out!
What do you think of these neat, darker designs for some of our favorite Digimon? Which of these Dark Monsters if your favorite?
