I cant help but cry over how extra lonely merlin was when it came to his magic. Everyone always spoke about how lonely and awful it was to have to hide your magic, for sorcerers and druids in places like camelot and how isolating it was.
But at the end of the day they could somewhat always find others like them. They could escape to druid camps and be with people like them or find others hidden in the shadows.
But merlin couldnt. Sure he found other people that could do magic. But they always had him on this platform, emrys this emrys that, he was always the great emrys who had this big destiny and was the greatest sorcerer.
Never just merlin who could do magic. He never really got that equal companionship and relief of having someone the same as him around because the other person always saw emrys, this important person for the world, and never just 20 year old merlin who knew magic and wanted to help his friends.

Home was never Avalaon. It was Merlin. - Chapter 3 - TheDarkSeaofSecrets - Merlin (TV) [Archive of Our Own]
Merlin had never been alone. Not quite. Not with Leon by his side but then....Leon leaves him too and he's all alone in the world until some blond-haired blue-eyed ass gets up him about smoking. Turns out Arthur's still a stubborn prat also turns out. He doesn't know who Merlin is or that He's THE King Arthur, maybe Merlin can do things differently this time. The one thing Arthur does know is that Merlin is broken in more ways than one, and he wants to try and fix him.

bc god forbid someone merlin loves stays alive
A question: why in "darkest hour" Merlin didn't just throw Sigan's soul stone thingy throught the rift? Like correct me if i am wrong, but it was life for life exchange and he is technically alive.

I really enjoy the concept of soft merthur.
After another really exhausting day and constant disapproving glances from his father Arthur is just so tired physically and emotionally. So he walks down the halls and everyone on his way is bowing to him and just generally treating him like royalty (as they should) and Arthur knows it's how it should be, but he's just so sick of it. And then he walks into his chambers and there is this idiot of a manservant who has never once cared for his rank. Maybe Merlin turns to him and jokes, trying to make Arthur smile. And Arthur's just breaks. He says 'Merlin' softly, maybe walks to him. So Merlin immediately senses that something is wrong, but he just hugs him. Cradles his head, rocks him gently, says 'shhh, its okay Arthus'.
And Arthur feels so much better.

Sometimes, when the burden of being the King and the Court Sorcerer of Camelot is too heavy, all you need is to get away from the court for a while and be together and hug each other.

We, as a fandom, deserved more Merthur hugs. Like, they deserved to hug more than once during the entire show.

no one will ever understand how hard this terribly written Uther-Arthur relationship hits me. and no one will ever understand my hatred towards gaius for saying "your father still loves you"
I know that wasn't the intention, but as someone who has been trying to survive in an abiusive home for 16 years, it gives me the "your parents love you, they just don't know how to show it" vibe, "they're still your parents" etc. cool, why does someone else have to tell me this to make me even think about it. Arthur became emotionally addicted to Uther, all he wanted was his abrobats and the fact that someone was fueling his delulu with such texts certainly didn't help. You don't understand how much I hated that the BBC tried to portray him as a "good father with flaws":
fandom often when writing Uther as an abusive parent, Gaius is made into an emotional support and parent fihure for Arthur. NO. absolutely fucking no.

is there any fics from the last ep of merlin where when kilgharrah says “no man, no matter how great, can know his destiny” merlin just flips the fuck out
Like kilgharrah would say it and merlin would just be like
Merlin: no- NO MAN CAN KNOW HIS DESTINY??? ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME??!???! oddly enough I remember a million times you SPECIFICALLY state mine or arthurs destiny so what the FUCK do you mean by that huh??? You didn’t consider to mention this early on???!? ARE YOU KIDDING ME RN???? man this is why I should have NEVER listened to a stupid fucking dragon omd ‘no man can know his destiny’ FUCK YOU???
Like hes so overwhelmed and sad about losing his best friend and thinking hes failed his lifes mission just for this THING to say “welp idk couldnt have seen that coming, its silly to think you can know how the future will play out”
Like I knowwww that was his last straw

watching 4x01 and 4x02 and i have a lot of thoughts but the one thing that is killing me right now is Merlin and Kilgharrah’s conversation.
From the moment I met you, I saw something that was invisible. Now it is there for all to see.
A lot of what you see, old friend, is what you taught me.
Merlin says this type of thing to Kilgharrah and Gaius both - who are, frankly, even in the most positive light, terrible teachers, mentors, and friends to Merlin, not to mention they form what is quite possibly the least functional support system I’ve ever seen.
Merlin, please stop thanking this bottom-of-the-barrel person and dragon for shaping you into who you are today. Who you are today is anxious, traumatised, lonely, and destructively self-sacrificing.

Do you ever think about the fact that Arthur, who has more than once rejected or awkwardly avoided hugs / the kind of physical proximity that acknowledges closeness (“I’m prepared to face any manner of danger but if you think I’m sharing this bed with you…”) from Merlin, willingly hugged him one (1) time while he was covered in bog muck, but Merlin doesn’t remember it because he was under the influence of the fomorrah?? Because I do

'Haven't I Given Enough?' — Yet They Have; A Rant on Merlin of Ealdor and Sherlock Holmes.
Warning: Spoilers ahead!
Currently listening to Gilded Lily by Cults and whenever the lines 'Haven't I given enough? Haven't I given enough?' were repeated, I kept thinking of Sherlock and Merlin.
Sherlock and Merlin; the two of them have given nearly everything they had for the ones they've loved and cherished yet they've suffered so damn much in silence for those sacrifices.
The two of them were also, in my opinion, considered anti-heroes. They meant well (each one of them truly did and tried their very best in remedying their personalised trauma and achieving their own set of goals; whether that be through legal, illegal means or both.)
Tumblr media
For example, Merlin.
Merlin had lost so much in his life for Arthur's sake as well as the golden age of Albion with nearly no help and what did he get in the end?
He had to wait for Arthur's awakening all by himself for centuries — uncertain whether Arthur would wake up or not.
He had to live through his friends' deaths, the fall of Camelot, the various evolution of societies and raging wars whilst waiting for Arthur.
Before that, he had to face all sorts of obstacles all by his lonesome self, rarely with anyone to tell of it, to get advice or Hell, even a few hugs and words of encouragement.
Sure, he had Gauis and Kilgharrah but Merlin didn't have anyone his age to talk of it all. They all died one by one and mostly he had to bury them alone. He didn't have a place to freely practice his magic without the fear of judgement or death dangling on his neck. Not to mention, certain times, the two people he could count on either didn't help that much or gave unwisely advice that eventually tore Merlin apart — situation wise, physical wise or even emotional wise.
He had done and given everything he could for Arthur's sake and happiness even though his own was always put behind. He had killed, defied his own kind even though at certain times, he didn't want to or he knew they had the absolute right to be enraged.
Still, he kept pretending to be a fool, doing the dirty work in the shadows without getting any recognition — he didn't want any.
Merlin had been through various dangerous situations and some had even nearly died in them yet he still protected Arthur with all his might and magic.
Why?
Love.
Because he loved Arthur so much — whichever way people could see it (platonically, romantically or somewhere in between) but no one could deny that the love was there.
Tumblr media
As for Sherlock ...
Sherlock had literally lost two years of his life, years of his hard work invalidated by being called a fraud as he was tearing down an infamous criminal network all by himself without telling the people he had done it for. When he wanted to explain himself, he was thrown with the whole conundrum of emotions; which he had specified earlier on that it wasn't his forte.
He could sympathize, could even feel protective over the ones he held near and dear but he didn't show it a lot. Most times, he kept his guard up, letting everyone around him perceive him as emotionless and heartless as they could whilst worrying himself to the ground silently when things didn't go his way.
Or when it all came out wrong and he lost people that meant so much to him.
He was so damn lost after returning, rarely counting on anyone and just tried his best to patch himself up all alone despite spiralling down regardless.
All the while, of course, Mary, Magnussen and eventually Eurus happened.
Again, another question would be why would he do such things for people when he had claimed himself as a high functioning sociopath?
Because he isn't one. It's a mere facade. Not to mention, he loved John, Molly, Greg, Mrs. Hudson and Mycroft (even if they seem like enemies - that's not true) dearly.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In conclusion, the two of them had given more than enough for their loved ones. The saddest thing however is that no one told them that by each sacrifice, a part of themselves would be lost. The more they sacrificed for the people they cared for, the more they lost themselves until what was left was a tired shell of themselves.
That and the fact that both of them seemed to believe the people around them wouldn't give a damn if something were to happen to them, as if their lives were worth little next to nothing is just ... Dear Lord.
They both need a ton of hugs and love — seriously. (Oh, and definitely therapy too.)

PART ONE
Sitting on his dorm’s hard floor, his back against the door, Theo grabbed the bottle again and brought it to his mouth. He felt the burning liquid going down his throat, and while it actually did hurt, it was nothing compared to the pain he had been feeling since he learned a few hours ago that y/n didn’t remember anything - didn’t remember him.
“I, um...I’m sorry, but... who are you?”
She doesn’t remember. The thought was like a thousand knives in his heart. She didn’t remember all the dates they went on, how much they laughed and talked during them, all their time spent just the two of them, just enjoying being together, their first kiss and those that followed, the first time Theo told her he loved her, the first time she told him she loved him, all their cuddles and nights spent embracing each other or spent loving each other, all their hugs, all the time they comforted each other - how she comforted him after his mother passed away and, every year, on her death anniversary. How much they loved each other - how much she loved him. That was the worst part. He could tell y/n about the moments they spent together, where and how their first kiss was. He could also show her how much he loved her and why they dated in the first place, but what if she couldn’t fall in love with him again? What if she wanted nothing to do with him?
His stomach twisted at the thought, and he drank again. One part of him refused to think that y/n, having a big heart full of patience and understanding, wouldn’t at least give him a chance, but the other part of him, the one who always told him how she deserved better than him, told him otherwise. Theo had felt alone when his mother died, but the feeling had faded away when he and y/n started dating. It came back with y/n’s disappearance, and was worse than ever. No one had ever loved him besides his mother and y/n, and now he had lost both. Of course he had friends, and he deeply cared about them, but it wasn’t the same. They only knew the happy, sarcastic, careless Theo, not the true version of Theo who felt things deeply, was really insecure and kept wondering why his father didn’t seem to care about him at all. He felt tears suddenly running down his cheeks, but didn’t care.
All of a sudden, Theo heard a knock on the door. He closed his eyes - which he would have probably rolled if he had enough energy and less alcohol in his body - in annoyance and was about to pretend not to be here when he heard a familiar voice.
“Theo, open the door.”
Mattheo knocked again after speaking. Sighing, Theo grabbed the bottle and managed to get up, finding himself feeling incredibly dizzy when he opened the door. Mattheo came in, and Theo went to sit on his bed. Mattheo closed the door behind him, and raised an eyebrow.
“Merlin, it’s even worse than I thought.”
Theo, who now had a terrible headache, looked at him. “What?”
“Your ass is drunk. Like you had been for the past three months.”
“So what?” Theo snapped coldly.
He could find in him to tolerate his best friend coming to check up on him and comforting him, but not a lecture. They both had shitty fathers - and a crazy ass woman as a mother for Mattheo -, and had bonded over it, but Mattheo hadn’t always been single, and therefore couldn’t truly understand how Theo felt, as much as he tried.
“I suggest you quit drinking, get a shower, eat something and clean up this room, because a little bird named Pansy told me y/n is leaving the hospital wing tomorrow. Do you want her to see you like that?”
Theo ran a hand through his face, frowning. “What?”
“Mrs Pomfrey was able to heal all y/n’s injuries,” Mattheo said, and then his gaze softened. “Except for her memory loss.”
Theo looked at the ground, and Mattheo slowly came to sit beside him on the bed.
“I’m sorry, mate. I mean it.”
Theo couldn’t say anything as he left that if he did, he would cry, and there was a short moment of silence before Mattheo spoke again.
“You know, y/n only came back today. They still can find a remedy. Pansy said they’ll look in other books.”
“Did she find out why?” Theo asked in a hoarse voice.
“No. It might be from trauma, a potion or a spell. They’ll probably do other tests.”
“Did they come?” Theo asked. “Her parents, I mean?”
“Yes. They were…upset, of course. Pansy was here when they saw y/n. They asked her to come home for at least a few days, but she refused.”
The thought was y/n wasn’t alone while meeting people who were now basically strangers made him feel better, but it was at this moment that Theo realised how selfish he had been. He had lost his girlfriend, the girl he imagined spending the rest of his days with, but y/n had lost everything. Everything she had known and was used to - from family and friends to her childhood home and the school - were now foreign to her. And instead of being there for her, he was fucking drinking.
“She’ll need you,” Mattheo continued. “You were a big part of her life.”
“I want to help her,” Theo answered. “But…What if she doesn’t want me anymore?”
Mattheo had a half-smile, “No chance, mate. She asked Pansy about you.”
Theo’s heart almost skipped a beat, and he turned to his friend. “Really?”
Mattheo nodded, “Yeah. I don’t know the details, but she did ask questions, and apparently she felt guilty when she saw you leaving. So, as I suggested earlier, we’re gonna clean up this room, and while you take a shower, I’ll go get us something to eat. Alright?”
Feeling a bit better - but still ashamed - Theo nodded, and Mattheo gently pushed his shoulder.
✧⋄⋆⋅⋆⋄✧⋄⋆⋅⋆⋄✧
The next morning, Theo woke up with one of the worst hangovers he ever had. He had a terrible headache, and any light hurt his eyes, but he wasn’t as tired as he thought he would be, probably because he had a dreamless night which allowed him to get some rest. He took a shower, and, realising it was already 10 am, he quickly put his clothes on, arranged his hair, and went down to the Great Hall. He sat down next to Lorenzo, planning to eat quickly and then go see y/n in the hospital wing. He had to apologise to her for leaving as he did the day before, and planned on at least a real conversation.
As he ate, Theo felt his frustration grow. This isn’t what he had planned for her return. He had planned to get her flowers and many gifts, and to cuddle for days, trying to make up for the time lost. The cuddles were absolutely obviously out of the question now, and the gifts were maybe too much, but maybe flowers would still be a good idea? After all, maybe y/n would like to know that, unbeknown to her, she had a boyfriend who had missed her terribly while she was gone? He suddenly had the image of her in tears, alone in the dark, waiting for him to rescue her, losing all hope with each day passing. He shook his head, finished his plate quickly, and left the Great Hall, but he had barely taken a few steps when he saw two familiar silhouettes coming the opposite way. y/n and Pansy were laughing, and if you didn’t know y/n had lost her memory, you’d think she was still the same as she was before her kidnapping. y/n noticed Theo, and something in her behaviour shifted.
“Ah,” Pansy said, “Hello, Nott. y/n, dear, I’m sure you remember Theo, who you saw yesterday?”
y/n nodded. “Of course. Hi, Theo.”
“Hi, cara- y/n.”
E che cazzo, Theodore. Pull yourself together.
“I’m…glad to see you’re okay,” he managed to say.
He meant it, but the words had a hard time coming out of his mouth, as if this new uncomfortable distance between y/n and him made everything awkward - this was also new, because even before they started dating, they had always felt incredibly comfortable and safe with each other. y/n suddenly cleared her throat, which brought Theo back to reality.
“Hum, actually…I was wondering if we could talk?”
It took Theo a second to realise she was speaking to him. “Talk?”
“Yeah, I…I mean, you were a part of my life, and I want to put all the pieces together.”
Theo nodded. “Of course. Well, if you want, we can talk now?”
“Sure.”
She gave him a small, shy, adorable smile, one of those that had made him fall in love with her, but this time, instead of warming his heart, it almost broke him. Pansy excused herself and entered the Great Hall after gently squeezing y/n’s shoulder. Now that they were by themselves, the awkwardness was even worse, but all of a sudden, Theo realised he had looked at it the wrong way - sure they were now, in a way, strangers, but it didn’t have to be the end? Theo had been able to make her fall for him once, there was no way he couldn’t do it again, right? He’d just have to show her, show her exactly why she gave him a chance in the first place, and how much she meant to him. It would take time, of course, but y/n had been very patient throughout their relationship, and it was his turn now.
“Do you want to sit somewhere in particular?” he asked.
“I don’t know, was there…a particular spot we liked?” she said.
Theo immediately had an idea in mind. “Yes. Follow me.”
She followed him through the castle, and Theo noticed she looked around the castle like the first years did when they first arrived. Sometimes, her gaze would light up, and it was adorable to see.
“Did Pansy show you around?” he asked.
“Not yet,” y/n said. “I think she plans on showing it as we go.”
Theo nodded slightly, “Well, if you prefer, I could give you a tour. The castle may seem big at first, but we usually get used to it quickly.”
y/n looked at him and gave him a half-smile, “I’d like that.”
They both walked to a bench situated in a corner of the courtyard, a bit away from where the crowd of students usually went, so it allowed them some privacy. They sat side by side, and Theo felt both the need to put some distance between them and to eradicate any distance that existed. He had never been able to keep his hands off y/n, and always had a hand on her thigh or around her; always craving her touch.
“So, do…Do you have any questions?” Theo asked, making sure to keep his hands to himself.
“Well, a few, yes. But I guess I just want to get to know you.”
Theo turned to her and smirked, “Well, you already know my name. Though I have to say, my name is supposed to be Theodore but all my friends call me Theo. You, however, called me Teddy.”
She stared at him for a second, “Teddy.”
It felt so good to hear her call him that he almost forgot himself, almost hugging her right here and there, almost also forgetting that she probably would feel uncomfortable.
“I’m in Slytherin just like you, and we’re in the same class, with Pansy and my friends. What else… I’m also Italian, so I’m bilingual.”
“That’s cool,” she smiled. “Do I speak another language?”
“Well,” Theo hesitated, “you were learning Italian, and you were pretty good.”
“And…when did we start dating?”
Theo let out a slight sigh, “Our fifth year.”
“Oh. And you met my parents?”
“Yeah. They were nice.”
Nice enough to allow someone like me to date their only child.
“And have I ever met yours?”
Theo gulped and looked at his knees, “You never met my father. But I don’t see him very often, so…And my…mother died a few months before we started dating.”
y/n’s gaze from interest to surprise, sadness and compassion. “I’m so sorry, Teddy.”
“It’s okay. You helped a lot.”
“I’m glad I did.” She then shook her head and sighed. “I really wish I remembered, you know. If there was any way, I would do it.”
“I know.”
Because I’d do anything for you to remember, too.
“What’s the first thing you remember?” Theo said before realising it.
“Hum, it’s not very clear, but I do remember that large guy…Hagrid, isn’t it?” Theo nodded and she continued, “I remember him holding me and telling me I was gonna be alright. He brought me back to the castle and to Mrs Pomfrey. I slept a little, she examined me, and then this professor, Professor Snape, and this other man - I think they said he’s the Headmaster here? - came to talk to me and told me they had been looking for me for months. I don’t know why but for some reason, I remember being a witch, so they didn’t have to tell me. Then Professor Snape left to tell my parents and then…you arrived.”
Theo blinked, “So you don’t remember what happened during…”
“My abduction?” y/n completed. “No, not a single thing. But it’s better this way, I think,” she added.
Theo nodded slightly, and there was a moment of silence, with only the conversation and laughs of other students for noise. Theo was glad she didn’t remember anything - even though he would always remember the images of her being tortured that had been looping inside his head - but he didn’t like the fact that those who abducted her and held her somewhere would never be punished for what they did. He had no clue of how long he had been lost in thoughts, but at some point, he realised y/n was staring at him. He turned his face towards her, feeling his cheeks becoming hot, and suddenly felt nervous.
“Do I have a third eye on my forehead or something?” he said with a nervous laugh.
y/n’s eyes widened and her own cheeks became pink in embarrassment before she looked at the ground.
“I’m sorry, I…I guess I was trying to remember something. Anything.”
Theo had a silent sigh and put his hand on hers, which sent shivers down his spine.
"I'll do anything I can to help you remember, y/n. And if I can't, I'll help create beautiful new memories."
Theo thought y/n's eyes were suddenly shining, and she gave him a small, thankful smile before joiging their hands together.

+ WARNINGS - SMUT! Fingering, in public, touching underneath table, reader tries to resist at first, language, dom!Theo (lmk if I missed any)
+ MUSIC (listened to while writing) -

---
A shuddering breath pushed itself through your lips as you watched yourself in the dormitory mirror. A nervous, borderline panicking student stared back at you. Perhaps it was childish, but you felt like you were about to throw up. You’d never really been a person for going to events—any type, really. They made you feel out of your league.
You closed your eyes and pushed strands of hair behind your ears, holding your hands next to your face for a moment. There was no reason for you to be so nervous. You had as much a reason to be there as everyone else did. Professor Slughorn asked you, just as he’d asked everyone else. Yet, it felt like you were intruding somehow.
“Merlin, get it together,” you mumbled, running a sweaty palm down the front of your skirt, praying the slight wrinkles would work themselves out. It was fifteen ‘til, and you had run out of time to stall. You opened your eyes and headed toward the door, hands wringing themselves bare.
It was cold in the vast hallways tonight. A small shiver passed through your body, the chilled air permeating your suit jacket somehow. You wrapped your arms around your body, intending to trap some heat against you.
You glanced around, trying to spot a familiar face. Your boyfriend, Theo, had mentioned that he’d meet you around five minutes before the dinner party began, yet you saw him nowhere. The anxiety began to creep back into your stomach at the realization that you may have to walk into Slughorn’s office by yourself. You prayed that he’d show soon.
You continued down the halls, your arms still tightly hugging your body, your teeth still silently chattering. When Professor Slughorn had invited you to join his famed Slug Club, you’d been overjoyed. You couldn’t believe he’d offer you such an honor, though you considered Potions to be one of your strongest classes. He’d told you that you were a pleasure to work with, and he believed you might be on the track to taking his position one day. Of course, you’d laughed at that then, but perhaps he was right. You didn’t mind the thought of teaching Potions, especially if it meant getting to remain at Hogwarts for the rest of your days. With graduation quickly approaching, the thought of having to leave the castle that had quickly become your home made you a bit nauseated.
“Boo!” Hands jolted against your arms abruptly. You gasped, repressing the shriek of terror that had begun to build in your throat. Theo appeared before you, uproarious laughter printed on his face. You scoffed and slapped at his arm. Dick.
“Don’t do that, you jerk!” you scolded.
“Oh, I’m sorry, darling,” his laughter finally began to die, “I just couldn’t help myself; the look on your face is always priceless.”
“Whatever,” you scoffed. You began to walk past him, not bothering to let him catch up.
“Aw, sweetheart, don’t be like that,” he chuckled gently, running to fall back in step beside you. You shook your head and promptly ignored him. His hands slid around your waist, trying to show some affection as the two of you walked.
“Stop it,” you said, slapping his hands away. He didn’t deserve any part of you if he was going to continue to scare you like that.
“Baby, come on,” he whispered, his lips suddenly against your ear. When did he get so close? His strong arms yanked you against his chest, stopping you dead in your tracks. He tightened them around you, tucking your body against his tall front. His lips, still pressed to your ear, pulled back to reveal his teeth. He nipped against the soft flesh there, his warm breath toasting your cold skin. You shivered in delight, his touch ever so addicting.
“Stop it, Theo, we’re going to be late,” you mumbled, your words as reluctant as your desire to pull away from him. He always knew how to alleviate any anger in your body. His lips on your ear and neck never stopped despite your words.
“You want me to, baby?” he whispered. “Do you really want to go to this dinner?” His warm fingers gently placed themselves across your throat, teasing his next movements. You swallowed thickly, feeling the motion push against his hand.
“Yes, we promised we’d go,” you whispered. His hand tightened around your neck. A shock of heat pushed through your stomach at the sensation.
“You sure? We could just go back to my dorm…,” he mumbled, his mouth hot against your skin. “I could warm you up.”
“Ugh!” You finally worked up the nerve to pull away from him. “We said we’d go to this party, Theo. We’ve got to go.” You’d put your foot down, and he knew it.
“Ugh, but why?” he whined. “We can miss one. He has them all the time. I’m sure he wouldn’t mind.”
“We made a promise, Theo,” you insisted. “If you stop complaining and come with me, I’ll be sure to thank you for it later.” His eyes perked up at that.
“I’ll thank you thoroughly,” you specified, a smirk curving the edges of your lips. He rolled his eyes at your persuasion and reluctantly nodded his head. You reached out a hand and waited for him to take it. Though he was a little disappointed you didn’t agree to ditch the party with him, he still squeezed your hand affectionately as you led him down the hallways all the way to Professor Slughorn’s office.
When the two of you finally came upon the warmly lit room, the anxiety seemed to melt off you immediately. You were surrounded by people you called friends, and, most importantly, Theo was with you. Even with the majority of the party’s attendees being acquaintances of yours, you still felt much more confident when your boyfriend was with you. Perhaps that was the sign of an unhealthy attachment…You weren’t sure, but you weren’t concerned about that right now.
The room was well-decorated with several intricately designed sconces that cast a comforting glow across the large, rounded table in the center of the room. Several of the Slug Club members had already found their seats while others stood, mingling. All of them seemed to be awaiting the Professor, as he did not seem to be currently present. A couple of your friends caught your eye and waved the two of you over to the table. A smile spread across your lips, and you squeezed Theo’s hand, pulling him along with you.
“Welcome!” A boisterous voice announced itself in the corner. As the two of you found your seats, your eyes found the plump Professor. A large, jolly smile was printed on his lips, and his hands gripped his new suitcoat proudly. He was always very kind; he sort of reminded you of Santa Clause, except no beard. You smiled at the thought.
“Slug Club members, I hope you know I’ve got a wonderful dinner planned for you this evening and—dare I say it—an even better dessert!” Everyone chuckled politely at that, wandering over to the table to find their seats.
Once everyone was seated, including the Professor, he waved his hands, and an absolutely glorious feast appeared before your eyes. Your mouth practically began to water at the smell. Everyone exclaimed in one way or another before digging in.
As soon as the room had piled their plates high, the conversation started. It was purely academic at first, as it always was, until it started to slip into much more casual subjects with the Professor leading, per usual. He asked personal questions in an effort to get to know his students better, his curiosity always getting the better of him.
“What do everyone’s parents do?” he said, glancing around at the circle of congregants, eyebrows quirking. The student just to the left of him started—you were pretty sure she was a Ravenclaw. She mentioned that her dad was an Auror and that he—your lips parted suddenly in shock. Your eyes glanced down to see Theo’s hand placed gently on your thigh. You glanced over at him. He looked completely normal as if he hadn’t even noticed he was doing it. Perhaps it was just a subconscious action of affection. You cleared your throat and returned to your meal, ignoring the tick of heat in your stomach.
The next student started on their spiel about their parents, though every syllable was lost on you as Theo’s hand moved between your thighs. You glanced down once more, melting at the way his hand positively dwarfed your leg. His grip was firmer now. Still, his face showed no reaction to what he was doing. To any on-lookers, he was simply listening to the student speaking.
His hand raised up your thigh, the motion shoving your skirt up against the bend of your hips. You gasped slightly at the exposure of your skin but noticed that the thick tablecloth concealed you from anyone near you. A breath of relief washed through you at that but was quickly interrupted when his pinky traced down your core through your underwear. You repressed a gasp at the sensation, cursing your body from the moisture that began to gather within the thin fabric of your bottoms. Fuck.
Theo’s lips branded a slight smirk. Fucking bastard—he knew exactly what he was doing. This was payback for not ditching the party with him.
The next student to go was the one just next to Theo. Soon, it would be his and your turn. He didn’t seem to care that the eyes of the whole table were getting closer and closer to the two of you. The student began to speak, Theo’s head turning to look at him. You continued to struggle through your meal, ignoring the way Theo’s fingers traced up and down.
His deft fingertips slid beneath the fabric of your underwear, releasing your core into the cool air. A shudder spread across your thighs, causing you to squeeze them together in an attempt to shield yourself from the cold. Theo’s fingers abandoned your core, tightened against your right thigh, and roughly spread them apart. The motion shook the table with a sudden thud. All eyes landed on the two of you.
“My apologies. I believe I kicked the table when I crossed my legs,” Theo said calmly, chuckling a bit.
“Well, that’s quite alright, dear boy,” Slughorn smiled. “Please continue, Mr. McLaggen.” Everyone’s eyes returned to the Gryffindor sitting next to Theo. As their attention was once again pulled to the boy, Theo leaned over to whisper in your ear.
“Open your goddamn legs, or I’ll really embarrass you,” he growled, his voice low and threatening. You swallowed thickly, your legs spreading open once more. His hand found its way back to your core, his fingers gently swiping over the bare flesh. Every motion was only enough to elicit a small jolt out of your hips every once in a while. The want pooled around his fingers.
“And you, Mr. Nott?” Slughorn spoke. Everyone’s eyes came to Theo, who seemed more than happy to keep them there and refuse to cease his movements beneath the table. Your heart rate increased with fear. Still, you worked at your dinner, trying to remain as calm as possible.
As Theo began to speak, his fingers drew a slow circle around your dripping core, collecting every bit of slick as he could before promptly plunging two of them within your entrance. A gasp of shock and pleasure spilled from your lips. It only came out as a slight cough and drew no one’s concern, but you didn’t know how inconspicuous you could continue to be.
“Well, it sounds like your family is quite put together; it’s got everything figured out,” Slughorn chuckled. Theo laughed and nodded. His eyes turned to you, as did everyone else’s. Fuck.
“Um,” you chuckled nervously. Theo’s fingers never ceased, the strong creatures curving against the sweetest spot within you. Your lips shuddered as you opened them once more. You began to speak of your parents, keeping it as short as possible.
“I see…and are you interested in following in their footsteps?” Slughorn inquired. Your eyes found his once more, trying to conceal the panic in them. Had he asked anyone else that question? Was he trying to keep you talking? Did he know? Surely not…This must just be shitty luck. You stuttered briefly before delving into your answer.
“Well, I didn't think about it too terribly much until only a f-few weeks ago—” Theo’s thumb began to caress the very top of your core, the sensitive area quivering beneath his familiar touch—“when you’d suggested I look into becoming a professor.”
“Oh, yes, I remember that!” he clapped his hands together joyously, a smile popping over his face. “I do think you’d do well to continue looking into that.”
“Of course,” you nodded, pushing a smile onto your lips. With great relief, Slughorn moved onto the girl sitting next to you. Theo leaned back over to you.
“You did so good, baby,” he whispered, “I’m impressed.” A coil you’d felt many times in your relationship with Theo began to swirl in your stomach. Fuck, he didn’t intend on making you cum here, did he? Your core began to tighten around his fingers, your legs pressing together. He knew what was coming. He’d felt it often. A smirk fell across his lips, his fingers never stopping.
You bit your lips roughly, hot metal spilling between your teeth. You sat up straighter, trying to push his fingers from you, but he refused. He wasn’t going to do it to you—fuck, he couldn’t… The edge of your finish pressed against you. You were so, so close—
His fingers pulled from you, dragging your slick meanly across your thigh. You dropped a breath you hadn’t realized you were holding, your legs shaking slightly. Your eyes found Theo’s, and your jaw clenched. He refused to look at you, that stupid smug smirk still resting on his lips. It was probably a good thing he didn’t look at you, else the look on your face might set him ablaze. You were going to fucking get him back. And it was going to be twice as bad.
