Ok so i love Merlin magic reveals but theres just something special about Merlin Dragonlord reveals

The ones where Arthur finds out and suddenly realises "HolyshititoldMerlinthathisownfatherwasntworthatearwhyishestillatmysideimahorribleperson-"

And i've seen several versions of this reveal and what the responses would be

But i haven't seen one i had in my mind

Just imagine this: Merlin grows his hair out ("no, gwaine, im not copying your hairstyle stfu-") and grows a beard

And Arthur thinks it's hot that he looks oddly familiar but can't place it

He tells tells Merlin this and Merlin sits there in cold sweat thinking Arthur is connecting him to Dragoon or something

It takes Arthur a week (A whole week!) to figure out who bearded Merlin reminds him of

They’re sitting around the fire on their way to a quest or whatever

And Arthur looks at Merlin who's attempting to carve what looks like a misformed dog from a piece of wood when Arthur suddenly gets flashbacks to that time The Great Dragon escaped and they went in search for the last Dragonlord.

Balinor. Merlin looks like Balinor.

And now that he sees it he can't unsee it. It's uncanny how much they look alike. Almost like father and son...

And that is how Arthur realises that he never defeated The Great Dragon and that Merlin is in fact the last dragonlord and "shitshitshitmyfatherruinedhisfatherslifeanditoldhimnottocryaboutit-"

Ignoring the fact that Uther believed that Dragonlords were too close to magic Arthur confronts Merlin about it, and promises him it's alright, it will all be alright. And Merlin can barely get out a word before Arthur hugs him, both of them pretending that Merlin totally isnt crying.

Arthur takes any books on dragons and dragonlords he can find and gives them to Merlin.

(Bonus points if Merlin lets Arthur come along the next time he summons Kilgarrah for help and Arthur promptly kisses Merlin after hearing him use that voice because 'holyshithessohotwhattheactualfuck')

Remember 2014 fandom nails?? With the tiny little designs we used to do with toothpicks and chutzpah?

Yeah I made Merlin fandom nails with a bunch of old nailpolishes and no tools cause I'm cold and sad and they make me happy.

On the left hand we have Morgana (blue and purple dress), Arthur, and Uther

On the right we have Gaius, Merlin and Gwen (purple apron dress)

The pinkies are dragon scale texture. White for Aithusa and gold for Kilgarrah

One thumb is a knight in a Camelot cloak and the other is Merlin's magic in gold and blue.

Oh yeah absolutely, I've stopped engaging in all other fandom spaces (in general not exclusively for Merlin, because it is still the chillest out there) because they are honestly too much. So I I'm sure it exists SOMEWHERE.

It's just the wording that absolutely sent me... "ALL" the Gwen Hate? What do you mean 😭

And I also know there be racist out there, but once again it was more of a issue way back when, as me and @hakka84 have discussed at length. Though, sure, they exist, I'm not arguing that (even though, once again, I REALLY have not seen it EVER in the 6 years I've been here. Once again taking Merlincersei aside)

I'm more focused on the apparently totally existing Merthur fans that hate her because she got in the way. Again. I REALLY never saw one post like that. Truthfully! I had discussions like this in the past where I asked the OP to share one or two of those posts and I never received ONE.

So do they exist or are we fighting ghosts out here?

Maybe it's just the case of a person never being in a fandom where the female character is ACTUALLY hated because she "gets in the way". Because those are actually brutal.

Ok I just wanna say this one thing and then I’m going to bed lol. What is UP with all the Gwen hate?!

Like me of all people absolutely love Merthur and I do think that they had the best chemistry out of anyone in the show but that doesn’t mean that Gwen also didn’t have chemistry with people?

I just saw someone say that she didn’t have chemistry with ANYONE which I think is wack. Miss girl had everyone falling head over heels for her. First of all, while her relationship with Arthur did feel forced at times and should’ve been fleshed out more in my opinion, I actually DO love their relationship and I think they had a lot of chemistry.

But besides that, LANCELOT was madly in love with her. Like, she was his hope in the darkness. And she loved him greatly in return. Their relationship is probably my favorite of Gwen’s relationships.

Merlin in the first season was also at least intrigued by her. Maybe not in love but definitely interested.

Morgana and her ABSOLUTELY had tension and would’ve made great love interests if not for the fact that Morgana perverted her own good nature.

And lastly I know this wasn’t fleshed out very much and she wasn’t interested in him but Gwaine was ALSO interested in her.

But besides all of that she is just such an amazing character. She is polite but stands up for people, she’s kind but can talk back if need be, she is funny and loving and cares so much for Camelot and all of her friends. She had so much love to give and was also FUNNY. What more could you ask for??

Anyway. That was long but needless to say I’m tired of the Gwen haters. She deserves better in Canon and in fandom. First the writers did her dirty in her queen arc and now fans are reducing her to a cardboard cutout that she clearly isn’t!

Do you ever stop and think about how lonely must Arthur have felt before meeting Merlin?

He had no one he could really call friend for years and then BAM one day he meets this strange, cocky, peasant boy who just calls him names regardless of his rank and like in just one day he gains a loyal servant, a best friend, a soulmate, the other side of his coin, his savior, his first true supporter and the love of his life.

Damn, the love he must feel for Merlin.
