10 Must-Have Essentials for the Perfect Maharashtrian Bridal Look in 2024
A Maharashtrian wedding is where tradition meets elegance and bright cultural heritage. The Maharashtrian bridal look would essentially speak for itself, with a perfect blend of timeless grace and contemporary touches. For 2024, the most perfect bridal aesthetic would be when modern techniques are combined with classic elements to create an unforgettable appearance. Here is a guide with the 10 must-have essentials in achieving that perfect Maharashtrian bridal look, key insights, and top tips from Charmacy Milano Cosmetics.
1. Spotless Base for the Long Lasting Bride’s Makeup
The perfect and best bridal makeup starts with the flawless base. A good liquid foundation provides an even colour tone, of utmost importance for photographs and the rest of the day’s agenda. For matte foundation, opt for one that can last long hours of partying and look flawless regardless of the light. Charmacy Milano’s Cosmetics liquid matte foundation gives excellent coverage without looking heavy, making it a need to own a product for any bride.
2. Setting Powder for All-Day Perfection
A bride would always want makeup to last long. The setting powder makeup ensures that the foundation and concealer stay intact without creasing or shine all day long. This becomes all the more important in those intricate ceremonies of haldi makeup look and mehendi look, when outdoors with problematic settings become a concern. Charmacy Milano’s set & fix loose powder makeup finely milled is a perfect finishing deal that lasts long.
3. Bridal Eyeshadow Makeup Palette
Eye makeup is a significant focus area in most bridal makeup. A variety of colour-coordinated eyeshadows cannot be missed. A shade combination should match the bridal wear and must point out the theme of the look as well. Warm gold, maroon, and deep brown shade combinations would make for excellent Maharashtrian bridal looks, both classic and modern. Charmacy Milano eyeshadow kits are also known for high pigmentation that leads to full glittering bridal eye makeup effects, even with subtle shimmer effects.
4. Smokey Eyes for the Wedding Day
The timeless smokey eye makeup for wedding events can elevate the traditional Maharashtrian bridal look to a regal status. A well-blended smokey eye with hints of gold or bronze adds drama and elegance. Pair this with long, fluttery lashes to make the eyes stand out. Charmacy Milano’s smokey eye products deliver smooth application and bold results for that extra bit of wedding charm.
5. Perfect Eyebrows for the Classic Bridal Look
Eyebrows frame the face and enhance the overall classic bridal look. Using an eyebrow pencil or pomade that matches your hair colour creates a defined, natural shape. Charmacy Milano’s Cosmetic eyebrow products like duo eyebrow filler & ultra definer, cmc ultra defining eyebrow pencil are specially designed to give precision and long-lasting hold, ensuring your brows stay perfect during ceremonies like the haldi makeup look and mehndi makeup look.
6. Glitter for Bridal Eye Makeup
No bridal makeup is complete without a hint of sparkle, which, after all, gives that special glow. Glitter eye makeup for brides is fantastic for a more subtle or dramatic effect with glitter lines and emphasises glamour beautifully in photos. Charmacy Milano has a wide array of good glitters with minimum fallout for a neat, radiant finish.
7. Highlighter for Wedding Glowing Makeup
A highlighter adds that little touch of magic for a wedding makeup look. Sweep it on the high points of the face like on the cheekbones, brow bones, and the bridge of your nose. This gives a radiant glow that enhances your look for the big day, as a result, your bride-to-be glow will look ethereal. Charmacy Milano’s baked illuminator range offers versatile shades that suit various skin tones, ensuring your bridal glow looks ethereal.
8. Lip Makeup to Add to the Wedding Gown
Lips complete the Maharashtrian wedding attire. Select lip shades that complement your outfit colour palette. Dark reds, deep maroons, and even pale pinks can be used based on the occasion. A lip makeup product that is long-wearing yet hydrating is all about comfort throughout the day. Charmacy Milano’s collection of matte and creme lipsticks offers rich colour payoff and a smooth finish, perfect for both main ceremonies and softer mehndi makeup look.
9. Cheek Blush for a Natural Flush
A dash of colour on the cheeks will revive your bridal makeup. Opt for blushes that will complement your skin tone and bridal attire. Traditional yet modern shades, such as rose and peach, will do justice to the ‘look’. The soft flush will highlight your natural beauty and blend well with haldi eyeshadow makeup and mehndi look attires. Charmacy Milano cheek enhancer range leaves your cheeks looking naturally luminous throughout the day.
10. Setting Spray for a Long-Lasting Finish
After applying all your bridal makeup essentials, a setting spray ensures everything stays in place. A good setting spray locks in makeup, making it sweat-proof and tear-resistant important for emotional wedding moments. Charmacy Milano’s setting spray offers a refreshing mist that maintains your bridal glow from the first ceremony to the final farewell.
Final Touches for the Perfect Maharashtrian Bridal Look
Preparation for a Maharashtrian bride does not only stop at makeup. The available accessories like the nose ring, green bangles, and the iconic crescent-shaped mangalsutra complete the look. Through the proper application of makeup products and techniques, every single feature the bride owns can be emphasised to become part of this culture.
2024 brides want to merge tradition and the current trends in whatever possible manner, Charmacy Milano’s high-performance products, therefore, give everything needed for that seamless balance. From the dramatic smokey eye makeup wedding receptions to that glowy look for your haldi makeup look, Charmacy Milano has been a name when it comes to quality and variety.
While being inclusive of these 10 must-have essentials, the Maharashtrian bride gets that perfect look that speaks volumes about her unique individuality and the richness of her cultural heritage. Let Charmacy Milano be your special day part of, with its memories going to be as memorable as your bridal makeup moment.

Holding on & letting go | kth.
Happiness.
That’s how you should be feeling when you’re best friend is getting married to the love of her life.
Then, what is this prickly feeling crawling up your body that threatens to make you cry in the middle of their wedding ceremony.
You had always known that they would end up together, then why were you still holding onto something that was clearly toxic to you ?
“come on, saanvi, join us!”Sakshi, the other bridesmaids calls you to take pictures with the bride. She looks absolutely stunning in her red bridal saree, embroidered with flowers, and different patterns. Hands decorated in mehendi, rings, and bangles. Makeup that looks so good on her, legs are decorated with soft anklets that make sweet sounds whenever she moves.
The most painful ting about all of this is that she is not the evil type of person who’d make one hate them. She is kind, gentle, heartwarming, helpful, friendly, makes everyone happy, she’s loved by anyone who hears about her or meets her. She is the person people want to surround themselves with. She hasn’t done one thing to make you hate her, she is not capable of that.
And still you are here holding onto to those last feelings which are no longer valid. It is time to move on from all the negativity you held inside you. Maybe it was not meant to be. Maybe there’s someone else out there for you.
Hurting someone else so that you can find some peace was never your way of life. You’d rather be hurt than think about hurting someone else. You weren’t going to ruin your best friend’d wedding.
You hadn’t seen taehyung in so long. But he looks so good in his matching red sherwani, his beautiful boxy smile showing itself, playfully laughing along with your best friend. They look so happy.
Taehyung is a ray of sunshine, he can make anyone happy with his presence, he was intimidating at first, but if you got to know him, he’s a warm person. He always managed to lift people up when they were sad and needed someone to push them to do better.
That was how you two had met, he had noticed your tears, and asked you about your situation, you both had spent the whole night talking to each other. That night had meant so much to you, you wanted to confess to him, but all of that went in vain, when he had already confessed his feelings for your best friend. It had broken your heart, but you had kept all of it bottled up inside you for fear of ruining the friendship you shared with both of them.
At least, you could be around him as friends. But the pain had only kept increasing day by day, as you saw them holding hands, kissing on the cheeks, forehead, secretly going out without planning anything, going to the movies, and sneaking out in the middle of it. You had known everything but you didn’t say anything. Her parents didn’t approve of their relationship, and you were so tempted to ruin it all for her.
But you were not that kind of a person, and you would give your self respect and pride away if you did that. So, you made efforts to convince her parents and at last when they saw what taehyung’s presence added to their daughter’s life, they agreed. Ignoring your own pain was painful, but you couldn’t ruin something you had done so much for. So you stood on the sidelines while they kissed in front of their parents as their relationship became strong.
You had to get out of this wedding, or else you’d cry yourself a river. You called out to one of the bridesmaids, and told her that you’d be leaving due to an emergency. “Ok, take care saanvi. Call me if you need anything.” she held your hands, before letting you go.
This is how it ends. It was time to release all of that pain inside you and start a new chapter where you were not holding onto the past and welcoming a better future.
Feedback is appreciated, so don’t be a silent reader. Thankyou for reading.

Hiya JWB! Your thoughts on the scene when Arnav takes khushi to his mums. i HATE that they used such obvious body doubles & only watched it i think two seperate times, whenever it comes on i skip or stop it. I dont even remember what was said in it as all i can see is the body doubles, and that hand rubbing khushis cheek to clean the drawing just before they go? Cant remember when but it properly annoys me haha. Love ur replies and analysis keep it up for us still loving Arshi. Biggest thankyou!
Hey Anon!
Oh I so wish they had the script supervisor just note which car they used to create some semblance of continuity! I totally understand why they’d use body doubles but then considering how prominent Sanaya and Barun’s hands are, why they’d go for hand close ups and just why they chose completely different cars… sigh
To be honest when you’re shooting rapidly and daily these important things can be really missed out on! I’m sure on the editing table they realized that damn the nail work just doesn’t match (they tried to crop it!) and the cars don’t match either but probably what’s most important is to get the episodes out in line at the proper time!
You can see below they super cropped in but couldn’t do a anything much cause it was evident how different the hands were!
However all said and done it is a BEAUTIFUL scene, one of the best ones post elopement and is absolutely worth the watch! It adds the emotional gravity we were so waiting for!
It’s a shame there wasn’t a common schedules for the actors that day and that very obvious discrepancies were visible (I can bet that even the directors and editors went “ah shit”) but perhaps it’s one of the few times I can watch over an obvious error.
Also at that point ipk was seriously breaking down in terms of budget - I think a lot of the production stuff was probably being funnelled to other shows? - because you could start to see the set wear down, makeup go off, cinematography slightly cheapen and all.
The scenes also are suddenly too brightly lit. You see the way they managed outdoor Nainital versus the garden and you’d understand there was just a higher quality of equipments employed previously.
(You can see the difference in colouring lighting costume and makeup - massive yet subtle differences)
It’s a good scene though - just hear it out - it ties up the conversation Arnav had with Khushi about parents becoming stars and the whole Anjali Arnav bangle conversation.
Sigh, if they’d only top that scene with Arnav actually giving her his mum’s bangles it would’ve totally closed the loop! But hey very few shows give things in retrospect at this point (where the writers were changed or new writers stepped in).
Small things though could’ve made the scene easier:
- give Sanaya a glitter mehendi or a real mehendi with sketch pen to the body double
- give the body double short red nails instead
- have Arnav wipe Khushi’s face with a handkerchief so in a closeup we have the thumb wrapped in a hanky
- choose the same car for the actors to blend the scene
- have the master shot instead of close ups where they touch each other’s face so we can see the full moment between the actors (the pic below is a master - which is usually a wider shot with both the leads in)
- shoot the hands from the other side so we don’t see the nails but just the hands together
But also there were moments where they got the lighting and body double position really right where you can easily believe it’s arshi! And that is tough considering you need to command eye line, where they’re looking, outdoor lighting and all to look cohesive!
So, I hope you give this scene a chance regardless! Cause tv is tough to perfect, especially under pressure, and sometimes when the writing is brilliant you can forgive other things 😊 I’d always take good writing above two actors in the same frame doing shitty scenes (for example the swami track eww)
On a funny note, the hut scene did give us the worst of both worlds 😂
Best,
- JWB

Skts + desi trans (MTF) Atsumu, transphobia & comfort
Kiyoomi knocked on the door, waiting for Atsumu to reply, but there was no answer in return!
Atsumu had asked him to wait outside; she was confused between two outfits she wanted to wear for her cousin's wedding, and Kiyoomi, who would tell her she looked like the most beautiful person even when she was wearing her old torn clothes, was the judge!
Kiyoomi had been waiting outside for more than half an hour, and with every passing minute, his tension was increasing. He knocked on the door again, calling out to her.
"Atsu? Baby, are you done?"
"Love? Are you okay?" He called out again, debating whether to break it. He heard the click of the door, and instead of Atsumu putting on a fashion show for him as she usually does, she ran towards her bed, hid under the blanket, and blew her nose, throwing out the tissue paper and screaming.
"Omiomi, I'll pick it up laterr, promise!"
Kiyoomi groaned, but this was not the time to get disgusted; Atsumu had a running nose, and the only reason she could have one was if she had cried! And Kiyoomi had promised himself never to see tears come in Atsumu's eyes; whoever had caused this should better be prepared; Kiyoomi would take Atsumu's revenge!
Atsumu's outfits were laid out perfectly, with jewellery still in their boxes, the makeup products untouched, and a half mehendi cone lying with stained tissue papers beside it!
Kiyoomi sat down besides Atsumu, gently caressing her arm and sliding the chocolate he found on the side table inside the blanket, hoping it would get her out, and it did!
Atsumu grins as she slowly comes out like a tortoise and gives Omi her prettiest smile. Kiyoomi's hand immediately went towards her face, wiping down the wetness from her cheek.
"Are you okay, darling?" He asked once Atsumu had finished eating. Atsumu looked hesitant but gave up once she saw the determination on his face. Kiyoomi was not going to give this up.
Sighing, Atsumu showed Kiyoomi her mehendi, stained hands.
"Well, I wanted to try some nice designs! Mehendi would look soo good with these outfits, so i decided to try, checked some YouTube videos- IN THAT THE LADY DOES IT SOO QUICKLY AND EASILY!! BUT- but when I went to try- well, it was a disaster, like, I can't even draw a straight linee!" Atsumu cried,
"When I was a kid, I always wanted to put mehendi on, but you know, no one would let me EXCEPT that one time Rima-
My cousin..... The BRIDE" Atsumu continued as Kiyoomi nodded, finally understanding.
"Now where was I-haa, except that one time Rima practised on my hand and told everyone that it was a tattoo art, I wanted to surprise her, with a similar design, but it's just too muchh" She sulked
Kiyoomi chuckles as he gets up and searches for something.
"HEY! DON'T LAUGH AT ME ITS A VERY SERIOUS MATTER OMI!!"
'Did you know, love? The 15-year-old Kiyoomi wanted to be a tattoo artist. He wanted Tattoos all over his body, small, big, large, tattoos of every size, with small intricate details that he was convinced no one else could ever do, so he practised, practised on paper, practised with pens with different kinds of pens, practised on his body till he was decent in it, so um, do you want me to channel that Kiyoomi? He will do some decent work!" he asks with a sweet smile, sitting back down.
Atsumu giggles as she nods her head and starts showing the design she wanted.
Kiyoomi paid attention to every little detail; all the flowers matched, and all the dots were perfectly aligned!
"You're giving some serious competition to the mehndi wali didi, Omi!" Atsumu giggles, poking his thigh with her toes.
"That mehendi wali dhidhi-"
"DI-DI"
"Yes, mehendi wali didi! She is no one in front of me!" Kiyoomi smirks
"But wait, why didn't you get your mehendi done from her, babe? I remember seeing you sitting over there!"
Atsumu goes quiet; she really didn't want to remember all that, but she knew Kiyoomi wouldn't let it go, so she made him give a promise.
First, you promise me you won't do anything!"
"Atsumu, what happened?'"
Fuck, he took her full name, NOT GOOD.
"Omi- first promise me! Otherwise, Im not going to tell you ANYTHING," she stressed.
"Atsumu-"
"NO! Promise me first!" She says, putting her palm forward.
Reluctantly, he promised, He can ask for forgiveness later!
"Okay so, so you know how she is, no?"
"Who?"
"Aunty, Rima- rima's mother, how she, well, quite literally outed me in front of everyone? I told you about her, no." Atsumu whispered
"Did she do anything?" Kiyoomi asked worriedly.
"Nothing special, she was doing what she normally does, telling everyone around her how I used to be such a 'nice boy, how I have spoiled the 'Khandan ki izzat' nonsense, how she doesn't want to involve my mom and Samu because of my 'influence' and other things. I usually take it, Omi, but then she started speaking badly about you, Ma, and Samu, and that was something I couldn't take, so I just got up and left. I really didn't want to create a scene; I know how important this is to Rima, and I wanted to be there for her, Omi! But I just couldn't!" Atsumu cried; she didn't want to, but the tears just started rolling down her face.
"You know, when I was a child, she was my favourite aunt! She would always buy me things! Would always take my side whenever I used to cause some trouble! Uhh who knew the one who loved me the 'most' would suddenly want me dead-"
"Atsumu, you know you don't have to tolerate this! I can book the next flight tickets and-"
"Omi, you promised!"
"But Atsu!"
"I want to stay, Omi! I want to stay for Ma, I want to stay for Samu, I want to stay for Rima! AND I WANT TO STAY FOR US! I don't want anyone to think of us- of me as someone different! I want everyone to know that they can't break me. I mean, it does hurt sometimes, but because of that, I have become stronger! NOW DONT CRY OMI-OMI." Atsumu squeals, wiping down the tears running down Kiyoomi's face!
"And ANYWAYS! This is the last function with Aunty; after Rima, only two people are left to get married: me and Samu, and I don't think we are going to call her! She put me through lots of trauma and gave Ma and Samu unnecessary tension! No one is going to call her! So now it's just a matter of bearing her for a few days!" She continues, giving him a small peck on the lips.
"Now Stop crying and finish the mehendi, Omi!" Otherwise, it will dry! And it will be a mess!"
"Yes ma'am!"
"And after this, you have to dress me up in the saree!"
"WHAT!? WAIT BABE-"
"OMI! My hands will be full of mehendi! You want me to spoil my beautiful saree?"
"But how will I?"
"YOUTUBE!"
"YOUTUBE?"
It took him an hour to wrap the saree and another hour to figure out the jewellery, and the day ended with them going on a small 'watching the sunset' date that Kiyoomi had planned for his precious Girlfriend!
Well, the aunty somehow ended up with her face coloured with pakka colour on the Haldi day, and no one could figure out who did it. In the distance, Kiyoomi and Osamu just drank the chaas that was being served, and Atsumu, at the side showing Rima her mehendi, all four of them totally unbothered by the chaos!

ever since you mentioned an upcoming Indian wedding in RAKWME I've been so excited. I've only ever seen an Indian wedding written out in a fanfic once... I'm curious to see how you describe it since it's quite a large event to write about.
despite the fact that I come from a fully Indian family, I've only ever been to one wedding (that I remember) when I was younger. I don't remember all the details since it was years ago and I was completely exhausted by the time it was over but there are a few things that I thought you might be interested in...
1. so. many. people... it's almost comical the number of people you don't know despite them probably being related to you. I don't even know whose wedding it was 😭 there were so many people coming and talking to me and I didn't have a clue who any of them were... but that didn't matter because in Indian culture everyone (and I mean EVERYONE) is called uncle/aunty/brother/sister... doesn't matter whether you are related or not.
2. the outfits. the makeup. the mehendi/henna. the jewellery!! for some weird reason, the amount of colour there reminds me of the ball in the 2015 Cinderella movie (the one starring Lily James... can't stop thinking abt jily when I see her name.) I've seen the pictures of my mum's and other relatives' weddings... they looked unreal... like literal Bollywood stars. the detail of the mehendi is insane and takes HOURS. it's quite wholesome seeing all the women helping the bride to get ready.
3. THE FOOD. first you think the preparation for the wedding is exhausting... just wait til you get to the actual event. once you're done, the food all laid out on banana leaves looks and tastes like literal heaven. I'm not even exaggerating bc I'm not that much of a food lover... at that time I was incredibly picky. the food is exquisite.
4. the music!! the singing!!! the dancing!!!!!! the party vibes are incredible and I usually hate parties ( I'm not the outgoing type.)
I did not expect to write this much- it's like my brain exploded into this huge rant due to my enthusiasm (sorry!) hopefully this is useful to you in some way??
overall, what I wanted to say is that I'm so excited to see what you have in store for Ishani's wedding... your writing in general is just incredible and I can't wait to see my own culture reflected in your work :)
I will try my very best to make it an amazing experience for you! Although... be patient. The wedding is a couple of chapters into the future still!

Collaborate with professional makeup artists who can bring the jhumka motif to life on the bride's face. Incorporate intricate patterns, reminiscent of jhumka designs, around the eyes using metallic and jewel-toned shades. Soft, dewy skin paired with bold, matte lips will strike the perfect balance between traditional and modern aesthetics.
