This colorful silk coat appeared in the episode of The Borgias entitled The Moor, where Elyes Gabel wore it as Prince Djem. It was later seen in the first season of Medici: Masters of Florence in the episode Temptation, where Alessandro Sperduti wore it as Piero de’ Medici. The coat had been modified, with additional golden fabric on the sleeves. While the actual scene is quite dark, we can see the details very well in a promotional still.
Where did this costume originate? Click the source link below to find out!

"I do not excuse your sins, Cosimo. It is not my place to do so. And I have sins of my own, but as long as we can breathe, there is a chance that we can atone for them."

Lorenzo and Clarice are one of those couples that made me tear up because there was happiness once.
😭
Right?? Like I'll never not be sick over them 😭😭😭 arranged marriage with it's bumps; Clarice unsure of where she fits in Florence and Lorenzo being a dumbass and then they grew to be in love and her death breaking him because he fears it was his fault 😭😭😭 like it all hurts and they were so 🥺🥺🥺

It has been a week or two since I've started to rewatch the series 'Medici: Masters of Florence'. Every time I start a new period show or rewatch an old one, I feel the need to go through the internet and research the characters of the show. I already downloaded a few books about them. I believe I will make a few threads/posts around the Medici's, especially about my favorites, like Lorenzo the Magnificent💞 and his brother Giuliano de' Medici💔.
If the multiverse really exists, I hope that Giuliano survived the Pazzi conspiracy.

Anyway I wanted to link this one in my review of the last episode of Il Medici, but I forgot, so here it is - a statistics-based explanation of how the Medici used their wealth and soft power to subvert the traditional oligarchic democracy of the Florentine Republic and make themselves unofficial monarchs Augustus-style. It's a fascinating read for anyone who is interested the Medici family, I very much recommend it.

TV Show Recommendations Requested.
Okay Tumblr, please help me out.
I've had my heart stomped by a thwarted ship once too often, and while fanfiction is the answer, I'd love to be able to see my couple end up happily together without having to go through the heartbreak before I find the perfect fic.
Because right now, it feels like I get to the show's finale and I have a stroke, and then I find the perfect fic to complete the story, and I recover. Which is great. Love that recovery. But I'd also really love to not have the stroke. To which end:
I'm looking for a historial tv drama with a satisfying conclusion & the most exquisitely delicious of slow burns that does eventually get a happy ending. Preferably in a warmer climate.
The vibes I am going for are Spiro/Louisa from The Durrells in Corfu

Or Marco Bello/Maddalena from Medici: Masters of Florence.

And yes, I realize that all I have to do is read @dollsome-does-tumblr "A Little Miracle" for the perfect ending to Louisa & Spiro's story, and I realize that Marco Bello and Maddalena are reunited, because in season 2 we see that a decade after he left the Medici house, he's back training Lorenzo, after the death of Cosimo.
But I would also now like to see it happen on screen! So yeah, any recommendations would be very much appreciated. Thank you.

I've always thought the CW was the wrong platform for a prestige period drama like Leonardo (2021). There was virtually no promo or marketing after months of waiting for US distribution & I fear the series went there to die in the states. Granted the CW app is free & it's policy to have only the 5 latest episodes for viewing, but how, pray tell, are people supposed to get caught up if they are missing the context of the first 3 episodes & there is no other way to watch it in the US than on *checks notes* the CW?!?! 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️ & since this is WB Discovery that we're talking about, I don't have the confidence that ALL of S1 will be viewable elsewhere let alone S2 being picked up... *si~ghs*
