Little Burning Spice Cookie rant thing.
So, I've seen a bit about people thinking that Burning Spice Cookie's reason for going rouge was kind of... Not it, really? Which is fine and dandy, their opinion an all.
But to me, I think it's a pretty solid reason for Burning Spice Cookie and like... Characters like him, I suppose?
Okay so, Burning Spice Cookie held the Light of Change before it was taken from him and he was imprisoned and, like the other 4 Beasts before their fall, they represented and were practically the physical embodiments of those concepts (I think.)
To be honest, out of each of the Beasts I genuinely think that Burning Spice Cookie's concept was the most ironic, and the one most prone to, well, 'failure' for a lack of a better word.
(Though if I'm wrong, lemme know.)
Knowledge, Volition, Happiness, and Solidarity are all concepts that are prone to change.
Knowledge. Pretty self-explanatory, with anything new that is discovered, or prior knowledge viewed from a different angle, then that knowledge in itself would change.
Volition. Kind of difficult for me to explain but like, one's willpower could either crumble and fade or hardened and become stronger than ever. You could remain true to your own will, or submit to another's. Thus, change.
Happiness. Anything can make it happen, across various individuals the same or something different can make them happy. Or, the opposite, what once made them happy no longer does, thus changing.
Solidarity. People can no long believe in the same thing, what once brought them together in unity could no longer be enough to uphold it. A common interest that they no longer support, thus changing their views on the subject and no longer being in solidarity with others.
To me, all of the other Beasts before the fall where capable of changing, as the concepts they were meant to embody were all given the range to.
Except, Burning Spice Cookie.
He was the only one, the only Beast, that was supposed to be unchanging. Despite his very concept being that of change. Ironically, Burning Spice Cookie would have been the only one who was to remain steadfast, unchanging throughout history entirely despite everything else changing around him.
Stagnant.
The pure opposite of what he meant, made to embody.
So, of course, he got bored.
Burning Spice Cookie, despite representing change, was stagnant. Meant to always be stagnant if the Light of Change was always to remain true, to shine its light upon him and the entire world.
I do believe his boredom ran a bit deeper than surface level. As he did say in Episode 6:
"All this Change, and yet it's never changing."
Which, really, just supports my point that Burning Spice Cookie, the representation of Change itself. Was stagnant and unchanging despite change happening all around him.
So, when he was given the opportunity to Change. To no longer remain stagnant. I think it would have been expected that he would take it.
Burning Spice Cookie was baked to be a hero, a God-Like virtue that would be a beacon among Cookie Kind along with four others. To protect and allow them change, civilizations to rise and fall and yet, he, himself, would remain unchanging, should remain unchanging if his purpose was to be realized.
That, is why, I believe that Burning Spice Cookie, or any other Cookie baked to hold the Light of Change, was and would be doomed to fall. To fail.

Been hving this theory for a few months now that this "Master Wu caused the Merge" thing is just Wu having been surprised by how soon it happened. It wasn't supposed to come this early, we've heard him say it in multiple flashbacks
Also, theory that kind of goes along with this is that Ras is responsible for it happening so early. He mentions in s2 to Jordana (possessed by Rox) that he used Dragon Icons (like that really pretty dagger/sword Lloyd got from Motion at the end of s2) to lure the Energy Source Dragon and then captured it. At the end of s1 when Lloyd goes to release said Source Dragon (with the Dragon Energy Cores!) it says that 'freeing it could cause the whole cosmos to destabilize. That destabilization could've resulted in the Merge, which then threw Wu for a loop because it wasn't supposed to happen yet but it did. Oh, also I think it's obvious that either Wu can do some astral projection stuff now or he's actually dead (I kinda figured it would be the latter after the second batch of s1 dropped in 2023 but remained silent.. He's probably dead tho)

i cant lie, im also beating myself up about not being able to get excited for the new game, or anything anymore it seems, while it can be fun to criticise things, some things you just dont like so badly that the frustration knowing it could be so much better but isnt and you not able to change it outweighs any fun- i dont like being a 'hater', i hate totk, but not bc i hate zelda but bc i LOVE it and want it to be better (though im starting to doubt my ability to do anything good with it too..)
and with the new game trailer (like, i still hope its better than im fearing rn) i feel similarly as when the next totk trailers dropped after the first one (which DID excite me), all of them gave me a sense of dread bc it seemed to go into a direction i wouldnt like, i tried to tone that voice down to enjoy the game, but then .. i was right
i dont want to be an annoying complainer about everything new, but maybe i am and i dont like that thought, i dont want to spoil anyones fun, i want to partake in it :(

what kind of sauce are they putting in the link click audio drama. HELLO? THE LITERAL LAST SCENE OF THE LAST EPISODE?
程小时: 说起来,我们第一次见面,也是在篮球场吧。 陆光: 是啊。 程小时: 你我本无缘,全靠一颗球。 陆光: 我就不该答应你比那场。
cheng xiaoshi: speaking of which, the first time we met was also on a basketball court, wasn't it? lu guang: it was. cheng xiaoshi: (half-jokingly) you and i weren't meant to be [lit. "originally have no fate"?]. this is all because of one basketball. lu guang: i really shouldn't have agreed to play that match.
Tumblr media
(the important bits are from google translate because i am bad at mandarin. also i did transcribe this off just the audio + i don't have access to captions or know where to find official transcripts. so i hope i got this right 🙏)
#am i crazy for being insane about this exchange am i crazy. i think i might be crazy#i cant read lu guangs tone on that last bit of dialogue hes too deadpan all of the time so i cant tell if hes joking. but like. HELLO??????#actually i will try regardless. im of the opinion that he in fact was not joking. his tone of voice feels softer than when hes sarcastic#+ the 2 full seconds of pause before. still hes so deadpan usually that cheng xiaoshi probably just takes it as a joke#seagull.mp3#link click spoilers#this show is mean#i will in fact maintag this. its important#link click#cxs#lg#idk i have an insane crack theory that maybe lu guang wasn't actually intending to befriend cheng xiaoshi in this timeline (jumping off of#duck's insane crack theory that maybe the only way to save cheng xiaoshi is if lu guang never meets him) but cheng xiaoshi surprised him by#1) inviting him to join the game 2) saying all that stuff about passing the ball = trust. and wouldnt it be beautiful to have that sort of#partnership for life. in the sense that if the only way for cheng xiaoshi to be saved is to never meet lu guang then cheng xiaoshi cannot b#saved. because he will choose lu guang and their partnership in every timeline.#my source for this is vibes. and the stuff haolin was saying (?) about cheng xiaoshi already feeling some sort of connection to lu guang#during their “first meeting” in this timeline.#anyway yeah. link clicker agents you should listen to the audio drama if you havent already its good !!#beyond the mandated once per episode “lu guang wtf are you up to” moment the individual stories r also really really nice#and the trio shenanigans :]

Whenever I do a TMA s1 relisten I love love love finding things that ended up changing over the next few seasons as the show became more fully fleshed out. Tim being serious and Sasha being the joker? Iconic. Whatever the fuck entity was leaving bags of doll heads and prayers on some random doorstep? Who even are you. How could you do that. What’s your number.
Anyway I need more of these to keep going thanks

SPOILERS MANGA CHAPTER 3: OCTAVINELLE
OMG THIS YUU IS SO SO CUTE!!!!!!
Tumblr media
LOOK AT HIM/THEM. ADORABLE. I WANNA HUG HIM/THEM 💖💖💖
Edit: Apparently his name is Yuuta, 16 yo. Maybe his surname is Mito, from what I heard in Reddit. I also read there that his family owns a Chinese restaurant, until you have better sources or find where it says that yourselves don't take it as official.

Magnus Protocol Theory —
(Spoilers up to ep. 5)
I think I've figured out the catch of OIAR staff being able to "quit at any time"
It's not immediately obvious why they can't quit the same way it was in TMA because, well, Teddy quits in the first episode! And he seems quite content with fucking off from the OIAR and never coming back, but he has this exchange with Collin:
TEDDY Colin, mate, you know you’re never getting out of here. COLIN Christ, don’t say that. TEDDY Even if his nibs lets you off the hook, which he won’t, you couldn’t bring yourself to just leave. Not 'til you’ve figured out all these fun little errors. COLIN Or they finally kill me. TEDDY I mean, sure, that too.
What do they know that we don't?
Bear with me on this one, but I suspect it has to do with how the Fears function in this world. I've been seeing quite a few theories floating around saying that the Fears in this world are more likely tied to Desire and I think they're right.
Every story so far has been driven by some kind of want or yearn or need—the yearn to hear a dead lover's voice, the need to understand why a place is marked "cleared," the desire to look different, the need to hide from the repercussion of your actions, the hunger for recognition as the best, the itch to feel real fear. Every time, the supernatural experiences commence after a desire(or obsession) is expressed, and every desire is granted in the most fucked up Monkey's Paw way possible.
How does this apply to our merry band of fucked up civil servants? Why are they still here?
Well, Collin's not gonna quit until he makes sense of the computers, and we're already seeing the negative effects this obsession has on him. Gwen wants Lena's job and to be the best of the department (and possible something else that we're not privy to yet). Sam wants answers to whatever the fuck is wrong with the OIAR/their cases and likely has some personal obsessions involved (*cough cough*the Magnus Protocol*cough cough*)
Alice is a bit of an outlier since she doesn't have any obvious "wants" that we've seen, but she seems way more conscious of what this job does to people than the others. From telling Sam to report Collin's behavior to telling Same this:
ALICE I wasn’t messing with you earlier, you do need to compartmentalize for this job. Make a box in your head and at the end of the shift you dump everything in there and hit the incinerate button okay? You do not want to be thinking about this stuff outside of here. It’s not good for you. I’ve seen people go weird before now.
Alice seems to at least somewhat understand what's going on—she's seen people go "weird" and knows that getting obsessed is dangerous, which is why she herself tries to stay as separate from the work as possible, tells Sam to do the same, and why I suspect she tries to have Collin reported(to keep him from sinking any deeper). But I suspect Alice is ensnared in her own way, possibly by the brother she keeps fielding calls from at work.
It's not a whole lot to go off of yet, but she keeps referencing her next paycheck while talking to him and overall implies than her brother musical career is unsuccessful but that it might turn around soon. Maybe she stays working there because she wants to support herself and support her brother's career?
Tl;dr the fears in his world are based in desires and obsession. Technically, anyone can quit the OIAR and they do—so long as they don't get obsessed. And if they do get obsessed, they won't stop until they either get what they want or, as Collin said, they die.

no offence to a certain side of the st fandom but they Need to get better at looking for context clues fym "stranger things 5 speculation" and then its, like, either cornplate to a degree of which I could never imagine or something deeply unrelated to any part of the show

Let's say chocolate is a metaphor for traditional relationships that happen to appear good but are too sickly sweet for Sanji to handle and after WCI he ends up not liking chocolate. At least for a while. He needs to move on from what happened first. But he wants to force himself to like it because he should like chocolate. It is one of the most basic ingredients when making sweets and it is also everywhere.
So what if it makes him want to throw up? What if his stomach betrays him when cooking? What if he needs to stop every two seconds to breathe because his lungs don't work properly when he smells chocolate? He will keep trying and trying to make it work. Everybody loves chocolate, after all, he should too.
But then, one day, Usopp sees everything he has around the kitchen. Like. That's an awful lot of sweets and a disgusting amount of chocolate and he doesn't seem like he has slept in a week. So of course he is concerned. "Why- What's all of this about, Sanji?" He tries to hide his nervousness with a laugh.
Sanji grips the counter tighter. So much his knuckles turn white. "I- I don't know. I guess I was just. In the mood for chocolate." But he doesn't sound sure at all. In fact, he looks like he's about to cry.
"Well." He looks around the room without wanting to touch anything but approaching Sanji a bit to check on him. "Luffy can have all of my portions because I kind of... Not like chocolate?"
"You don't- You don't like chocolate?"
"No? Too sweet. I actually pretty much hate it? The smell already makes me ill."
"Me too."
"You what?"
"I think I don't- I don't think I like chocolate anymore. Is that- I don't know if I ever did. Is that alright?"
"Why wouldn't it be alright, Sanji? It's just chocolate. Nobody can force you to eat it. Or cook it if you really don't want to."
And Sanji realizes that maybe... Maybe it is alright for him to not want chocolate, and a wave of relief takes over him for a solid second.

YRTS: Sara I
view context and the rest of the series here!
Is Sara "ungrateful," or is she tired of being treated like a child by both her mother and her little brother when she's trying to move on from the way she was bullied?
I see why they might've been more protective of her while she was at Marieberg, but she's clearly growing up and trying to move on and gain autonomy/independence, and they won't stop treating her like she can't take care of herself. That wasn't necessarily the issue she was having, though; the problem was that people didn't like her as a person and bullied her because of how they perceived her, not that she was actually incompetent in any way. Now that she doesn't have to deal with bullying, she's doing much better, and it might feel like her family is holding her back in the Marieberg times with their helicoptering.
