Are the Special Episodes or 2nd Season still happen?

House of Stars was supposed to have a special episode that they announced right after the finale but there hasn't been any news. Star Halo, the company behind the series, hasn't really posted anything since then but they held a small fanmeeting for two of their actors on 6 January.

As for Big Dragon, a second season was implied and a movie version of season 1 anounced - along with some stills and behind the scenes footage. Since then, nothing. But Star Hunter's track record for 2023 is spotty at best. Of all of the series and movies they announced in spring 2023 they premiered one (1).

The Promise had a special planned and a second season announced. The special was supposed to be crowdfunded but didn't reach its goal so every backer was refunded and the special cancelled. Devonte, the company behind the series (who mainly does skincare products), posts and promotes regularly. If a second season won't happen then they'll probably do another project soon. All the main actors are still under contract.

Chains of Heart was supposed to get a special episode but that one was cancelled due to (supposed) scheduling conflicts of the actors. The company behind it, Maximon Solutions, has since split into two new companies - Harikarn and Maximon. Maximon will release a new series, A Secretly Love, in February starring Kimmon Warudom and Kut Tanawat (Din in CoH). Harikarn has announced two new projects, one of which is set in the same universe as Chains of Heart. The Hell Guards will star Phayu's twin Yu. He'll be played by Chaaim Alongkorn who played Phayu in Chains of Heart.

So yeah, lots of things are uncertain and/or have been cancelled. The Thai BL industry relies heavily on funding (with some projects being handled as an investment - this is why you see skincare companies doing BL) so most announced series are more akin to proofs of concept until you see a fixed release date.

Which is a pity because I loved House of Stars and The Promise... and you all know that Big Dragon and Chains of Heart have my whole heart. 😭

Harikarn* (Chains of Heart) will soon announce the cast for their two upcoming BLs Iridescent Love and more importantly The Hell Guards (which is set in the same universe as Chains of Heart and starring Payu's twin**)

*Harikarn used to be Maximon but actually Maximon is still out there also producing BL so idk maybe they split? That being said, Harikarn recently rebranded (again) and never finished posting the script for the cancelled Chains of Heart special ep.

**I have little hope that Yu is played by the same actor as Payu in Chains of Heart even though they're supposed to be identical twins. Then again, one of the silhouettes actually does look a little like Chaaim:
