This marks the first year where I’ve reached my goal of at least 1 book per week for the year, and I’m reasonably proud of that. I’m especially proud that I didn’t overload the list with short works to reach that goal and was able to tackle some difficult or long works while maintaining a solid pace. I did find myself reading fewer literary works than I tend to prefer, and my nonfiction that wasn’t lectures was lower than I’d generally like (however much I do love lectures).
Goals for next year: more foreign policy reading, more literary fiction, write something of my own.

Max Cleland (1942 – 2021) Born: August 24, 1942, Atlanta, GA Physique: Average Build
Joseph Maxwell Cleland is an American politician from the state of Georgia. Cleland, a Democrat, is a disabled US Army veteran of the Vietnam War, a recipient of the Silver Star and the Bronze Star for valorous actions in combat, and a former United States Senator. Cleland died as a result of heart failure at his home in Atlanta on November 9, 2021, at age 79.
The handsome, former U.S. Senator from Georgia lost both legs and his right arm when a grenade exploded during his service in Vietnam. Sure he's missing an arm and two legs, but you know what I say to that. Easy access. Politicians today should follow his example and do a nude or at the very least in their underwear shoot for a magazine.

“Max Cleland didn’t deserve this, and the fact that it worked proved American politics didn’t deserve Max Cleland. Also, that some sins are mortal and unforgivable. Also, that nothing that happened in the past five years started with Donald Trump. Rest in peace, Max Cleland, and may his memory be a blessing.“

Trump Losing to a Black Woman is Causing a Narcissistic Collapse
Trump is in free fall losing to a Black woman and denied the opportunity to avenge his Election 2020 loss against Joe Biden. This is called narcissistic collapse. He is depressed and ftilting at windmills. Luckily, he has JD Vance to blame for any losses.

Who do you think would have been a good vice presidential choice for John Kerry in 2004?
I think Biden would have been just as good of a choice for VP in 2004 as he was four years later (he also would have been a better Democratic Presidential nominee in 2004 than Kerry was). Other potential Vice Presidential candidates that John Kerry should have chosen in 2004 instead of John Edwards: Bill Richardson, Dianne Feinstein, Gary Locke, John Lewis, Hillary Clinton, Jeanne Shaheen, Barbara Mikulski, Bob Kerrey, Howard Dean, and many others. In hindsight, it should have been anyone but Edwards and I was anti-Edwards back in 2004, too. Even John McCain -- who was vetted and seriously considered by the Kerry campaign in 2004 -- would have been a better pick than Edwards, and almost certainly would have won the election for Kerry.
But here are the top five people I would have liked to have seen as John Kerry’s Vice Presidential running mate in 2004 (if, in this hypothetical situation, John Kerry still had to be the Democratic Presidential nominee):
5. Wesley Clark: the retired General and NATO Supreme Allied Commander made an unsuccessful bid for the Democratic Presidential nomination in 2004 and I thought he was an intriguing candidate. A Kerry-Clark ticket would have had powerful national security credentials at a time when the country was in the middle of two costly wars. And while it may seem silly on the surface of things, “Kerry-Clark” is great-sounding ticket. The names of the candidates sound good together and that’s one of those weird advantages that campaigns cherish (and actively seek, believe it or not).
4. Joe Biden: again, it’s Joe Fucking Biden...he would have been a good VP pick for pretty much every Democratic candidate since 1988. His story and his blue collar roots would have helped balance John Kerry’s perceived eliteness and reputation for being out-of-touch with everyday Americans. Biden could have communicated with the exact voters that would have put Kerry over the top in 2004.
3. Max Cleland: a former U.S. Senator from Georgia, Cleland could have provided the same geographical balance that Kerry sought with his pick of Edwards. Cleland also could have done a better job of reaching the Americans who couldn’t connect with the wealthy Kerry who was seen as more of a WASP than George W. Bush even though Kerry was actually Catholic and the grandson of Austrian-Jewish immigrants. More crucially, it would have been very difficult for the Bush-Cheney campaign to use their damaging “Swift Boat Veterans for Truth” attacks against a Kerry-Cleland. While Bush and Cheney were both going to great lengths to avoid service in Vietnam, Kerry and Cleland were both Vietnam veterans who were wounded in combat. It was already disgraceful for the Bush-Cheney campaign to use the “Swift Boat” strategy against Kerry; I doubt they could have justified using that strategy against a ticket including Max Cleland who lost both of his legs and part of his right arm in Vietnam and was wheelchair-bound -- especially considering the number of American soldiers, sent overseas by Bush-Cheney Administration policies, who were fighting in the bloody conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan at the time.
2. John Glenn: at 83 years old, Glenn probably was a little too old in 2004, but he was also John Glenn. Glenn had been been a crew member on a space shuttle mission just six years before that and was not a normal senior citizen. He was basically Captain America. Glenn, a former U.S. Senator who missed his window for the Presidency for various reasons (he should have run in 1976 instead of waiting until 1984), was an American hero and would undoubtedly have boosted the popularity of Kerry’s ticket because, like I said, he was John Glenn. Not to mention the fact that Glenn’s quarter-century in the Senate was spent representing his home state of Ohio -- the very state that decided the 2004 election.
1. Ann Richards: I think Ann Richards would have been a perfect running mate in 2004. First of all, a female on the ticket would have motivated a lot more people who stayed home on Election Day to get out the vote. Secondly, she was from Texas and while that state was never in play, it would given Kerry’s ticket even better geographical balance than Edwards did and would have rattled George W. Bush to face a popular former Texas Governor in a national race. Best of all is that even though George W. Bush began his rise to the Presidency by defeating Richards in the 1994 Texas Gubernatorial election she would have been an amazing hatchet woman (as good Vice Presidential candidates often are). Richards was famously brutal and biting with her words and her wit, and many of her best lines came at the expense of the Bush family. It was Ann Richards at the 1988 Democratic National Convention who said of George H.W. Bush, “I’m delighted to be here with you this evening because, after listening to George Bush all these years, I figured you needed to know what a real Texas accent sounds like” and quipped, “Poor George, he can’t help it. He was born with a silver foot in his mouth.” And those comments were for the elder George Bush! Imagine what she would have said in a national campaign about George W. Bush! In my opinion, Ann Richards would have been a great fit for John Kerry in 2004, and I think a better running mate would have won that election for Kerry -- I mean, Kerry barely lost the 2004 election with John Edwards as his running mate, so surely an even marginally better VP nominee could have flipped Ohio in favor of the Democrats. And that’s all Kerry would have needed to have been elected President in 2004. Oh well, I’m sure that doesn’t keep anyone lying awake at night except for John Kerry, his campaign staff, and 60 million Americans.

That shows the dilemma facing officials like Milley. If they want to protect the Constitution or the institutions they serve—the Army, the State Department, the Foreign Service—they can try to do so by ceding some territory to Trump and doing things they otherwise wouldn’t countenance. They hesitate to defy the president, because it could mean being fired, and they tell themselves that if they leave, whoever replaces them will be more of a pliable toady. But maintaining that balance is impossible over time, and eventually they have to either go through with something terrible or else risk losing their job—and often both. Take former Ambassadors Kurt Volker and Gordon Sondland, who testified during impeachment hearings last year that they gritted their teeth and pressured Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to announce an investigation into Joe Biden’s family. They concluded that Trump’s claims were baseless, but they also worried that unless Zelensky made the announcement, vital American aid to Ukraine in its struggle against Russia was in danger. You know how the story ended: Ukraine got the aid, though the incident weakened its government; Volker and Sondland were forced out; and Trump survived the impeachment emboldened. Or consider Mattis. The retired Marine general tried a couple of different strategies with Trump. In some cases, he simply tried to refuse commands. In others, he acceded to bad ideas to satisfy Trump, like sending troops (with no clear duties) to the southern border to stave off an (illusory) invasion of refugees on the eve of the 2018 election. But eventually, Mattis gave up, resigning over Trump’s decision to pull troops out of Syria. In the end, the troops came out, and Trump—having gotten what he needed out of Mattis—has now turned on him.
How Trump Corrupts His Lieutenants
Rick Wilson is a garbage fire human who smeared Max Cleland and helped set up the conditions for Trump to exist as a political candidate. I will never forgive him for that. But I will acknowledge that he came up with the fantastic truth that “Everything Trump Touches Dies” and that includes not just the reputations of these men, but their futures, as well.
Good. Anyone who deluded himself into believing he could do anything other than enable and embolden Trump’s worst impulses is a garbage human who has no business ever being in a position of responsibility for anything, for the rest of their lives.
And they should carry the shame of their actions with them, and never be allowed to forget that they helped this horrible man destroy so much that’s good in this world.

The Lincoln Project that consists of wealthy Republicans who are producing attack ads against Trump. We should treat the intervention of the Lincoln Project with ‘skeptical gratitude’ because those people have a very ugly history.
It’s the most high-profile of these TEMPORARY allies. Its commercials have been devastating attack ads that clearly have burrowed under the orange cheesecloth of the president’s skin. Good on them. But it should never be forgotten that many of these sharpies honed their skills in the Atwater-Rove era of Republican politics, and that during that time, the Republican Party sold its soul and lost its mind, I think irretrievably.
Cruelty, racism, sexism, xenophobia and homophobia became the essential raw materials out of which many of these folks molded candidacies. A toxic form of masculinity invaded the party’s personality. It was these campaigns that softened the ground for the march of this president* into the White House. If that were not the case—if, say, President Jeb Bush were running for re-election this time around—these deadly commercials would be aimed squarely at Joe Biden’s shining forehead. That should never be forgotten as we get closer to the election. Max Cleland is available for corroboration.
But this brings into sharp relief that problem that these people will face on the morning after Election Day in November. Most Republican operatives trained in the past 20-odd years have been trained in just this way. Their first duty then will be to begin the fumigation of the Republican Party, starting with its grimy conservative undercarriage. There’s a lot of soul-searching to do when you first have to search for your souls. They should go off into the wilderness and seek enlightenment. Governing will have to be someone else’s job.

Never before nor after 9/11 has any steel high rise building collapsed due to fire and with melted steel found within the wreckage. That only happened on 9/11. This whole building burnt, but it didn’t collapse. Every other such steel high rise building did not collapse. For more read my book, “9/11 Hard Evidence”Send me an email at [email protected] and I will reply with books for free or For sale at Amazon Kindle books (then search for the titles)
Resolution for a New Congressional Investigation events on September 11, 2001 and the anthrax letter attacks
WHEREAS some 3, 375 architects and engineers (AE911truth.org,), including 52 Nobel laureates,63 recipients of the National Medal of Science, some 320 skilled commercial of military pilots (Pilots for 9/11 Truth), and some 58 elected public officials are saying that there is scientific irrefutably evidence proving that the TOTAL collapse of the World Trade Center buildings on September 11, 2001 were destroyed by explosives and incendiaries and not fire or airplanes,
WHEREAS Richard L. Lambert the FBI special agent in charge of the murder investigation of the 9/11 anthrax letters, he stated his bosses at FBI shut down or covered up his investigation, and so he filed a whistleblower complaint about their dereliction of duty,
WHEREAS 911 Commissioners Tom Kean and Lee Hamilton said that the FAA and NORAD did not tell the truth to the Commission and 9/11 Commissioners Bob Kerrey and Max Cleland called the Commission’s investigation a cover up,
WHEREAS the 9/11 Commission Report is full of lies and misinformation,
WHEREAS the National Institute of Standards and Technology’s (NIST) final report made no recommendations about building future steel high rise building so they do not collapsing due for fires, and because never before nor after 9/11 had/has a steel high rise building ever collapsed with molten steel found within the wreckage,
WHEREAS NIST failed to include in its final report any eye witness statements from first responders who alleged they saw melted steel within the wreckage, nor did their report explain extremely high temperatures observed within the wreckage for months after the collapse and white smoke coming off the wreckage.
WHEREAS NIST did not explain why the World Trade Center buildings TOTALLY collapsed, only stated why the top 12 and 30 floors stated to collapse of the Twin Towers,
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED we call for a new public Congressional investigation of event before, during, and after the mass murder on 9/11 and the anthrax letter attacks,
