She stirred slightly, the bed shifting as she became aware of the weight and warmth next to her. Matt was still asleep, his face relaxed, with one arm draped lazily across her waist. His chest rose and fell in a gentle rhythm, his breath soft against the side of her neck. His tousled hair was a delightful mess, strands sticking up in all directions from tossing and turning in the night. He looked peaceful, more relaxed than he ever did when they were out in the world, surrounded by cameras, fans, and the hectic life of an actor. Here, he was just Matt—her Matt.

Y/N shifted a little, careful not to wake him, but her movement must have stirred him because she felt him stretch beside her, his arm tightening around her waist as he murmured something incoherent into her hair.

“Hmm?” Y/N smiled, her voice still groggy from sleep.

Matt’s voice was a low, husky whisper, thick with sleep. “What time is it?”

Y/N glanced over at the small clock on the bedside table, blinking against the soft light of the morning. “A little after nine,” she whispered, turning back to him.

Matt groaned quietly, but it wasn’t the sound of annoyance. It was more of a satisfied noise, like he had all the time in the world to enjoy being in bed with her. “Too early,” he mumbled, pressing his face into the crook of her neck.

Y/N laughed softly, running her fingers through his messy hair, enjoying the simple act of being close to him. “We could sleep in a bit longer.”

“Or,” Matt said, his voice still muffled against her neck, “we could just stay here all day. Forget the world. Just you, me, and the blankets.”

Y/N chuckled, her fingers tracing idle patterns across his back. “Tempting offer. But I think we’ll have to move at some point. You know, food, shower, basic survival.”

He lifted his head just enough to peer at her with one eye open, a lopsided grin spreading across his face. “I suppose. But we can delay that for a while, yeah?”

“Yeah,” Y/N agreed, her voice soft as she leaned in to kiss the top of his head. “I think we’ve earned a lazy morning.”

Matt hummed contentedly, settling back down, his body molding perfectly against hers. It was moments like this that Y/N treasured the most—the quiet, intimate moments where it felt like they were in their own little bubble, away from the chaos of the outside world. No scripts, no cameras, no lines to memorize or scenes to shoot. Just the two of them, wrapped up in each other.

The room was filled with the soft sounds of their breathing, the occasional rustle of the blankets as they shifted slightly, and the distant noise of the city waking up outside. London had its charm, but it could be overwhelming sometimes, especially with the constant demands of Matt’s career. But here, in their bed, none of that mattered. Here, it was just the two of them, wrapped up in warmth and comfort.

Y/N shifted slightly, rolling over to face Matt fully. He had his eyes closed again, but there was a lazy smile on his lips, as if he knew she was watching him.

“You’re staring,” Matt mumbled, his voice teasing.

“Can’t help it,” Y/N replied, a playful smirk tugging at her lips. “You’re pretty cute when you’re half asleep.”

Matt cracked one eye open, giving her a look of mock offense. “Only half asleep? I’m pretty cute all the time, love.”

Y/N laughed, her heart swelling with affection for him. “Alright, you’re right. You’re devastatingly handsome even when you’re snoring.”

“I don’t snore,” Matt shot back, though the grin on his face told her he knew she was teasing.

“Oh, you definitely do,” Y/N teased, nudging him playfully.

Matt chuckled, the sound low and rumbling in his chest as he shifted onto his back, pulling Y/N with him so she was resting against his chest. “You’re full of it,” he murmured, his fingers absentmindedly running through her hair.

They lay like that for a while, content to just be close, listening to each other’s heartbeat, their bodies tangled up in the soft sheets. Y/N could hear the faint sounds of the world waking up outside—the distant rumble of traffic, the occasional honk of a horn, the murmur of voices from the street below. But all of that felt far away, like it belonged to another world. Here, in their little cocoon of blankets and warmth, it was just the two of them.

“I love mornings like this,” Y/N said softly, her fingers tracing the outline of Matt’s collarbone as she spoke.

“Me too,” Matt replied, his voice equally soft. He pressed a kiss to the top of her head, his lips lingering against her hair. “I wish we had more of them.”

“We will,” Y/N said, her voice filled with quiet certainty. “We’ll make time for them.”

Matt smiled, his hand resting gently on the small of her back. “I like the sound of that.”

They fell into a comfortable silence again, the kind that only comes from knowing someone so well that words aren’t always necessary. Y/N could feel the steady rise and fall of Matt’s chest beneath her, the rhythmic beating of his heart a soothing lullaby that made her feel safe and content.

After a while, Matt’s stomach growled loudly, breaking the quiet. Y/N couldn’t help but laugh, lifting her head to look at him. “I think someone’s hungry.”

Matt grinned sheepishly, rubbing the back of his neck. “Yeah, that would be me. But I still don’t want to move.”

Y/N rolled her eyes fondly. “How about I go make us something? We could have breakfast in bed.”

Matt’s eyes lit up at the suggestion, a playful glint in his gaze. “Breakfast in bed? You’re spoiling me now.”

“Consider it a reward for being so cute,” Y/N teased, slipping out from under the blankets.

Matt reached out, grabbing her hand before she could fully get up. “Don’t be gone too long.”

Y/N smiled down at him, leaning in to press a quick kiss to his lips. “I’ll be quick, promise.”

She padded softly out of the bedroom and into the kitchen, the cool tiles beneath her feet a stark contrast to the warmth of the bed. The kitchen was small but cozy, with its light wood cabinets and open shelving filled with mugs, plates, and the occasional plant. It was one of Y/N’s favorite rooms in their flat, filled with memories of late-night tea, shared meals, and lazy mornings like this.

She quickly set about making breakfast, deciding on something simple—scrambled eggs, toast, and fresh fruit. As she worked, she could hear Matt moving around in the bedroom, probably rearranging the pillows and blankets to create the perfect nest for their breakfast.

After a few minutes, she loaded everything onto a tray—two steaming mugs of coffee, plates of eggs and toast, and a bowl of mixed berries—and made her way back to the bedroom.

Matt’s face lit up when he saw her, his eyes sparkling with that familiar mischievous glint. “You’re amazing, you know that?”

“I do,” Y/N replied with a grin, carefully setting the tray down on the bed. “Now, dig in before it gets cold.”

They sat together, nestled in the blankets, sharing the simple meal and enjoying the quiet. Every now and then, Matt would steal a berry from Y/N’s plate, and she would pretend to scold him, but they both knew she didn’t really mind. It was all part of the playful rhythm they’d fallen into over the years, a routine that felt as natural as breathing.

After breakfast, they lay back down, their plates set aside, and Matt pulled Y/N back into his arms, holding her close as they basked in the warmth of the morning sunlight.

“I could stay like this forever,” Matt murmured, his voice sleepy but content.

“Me too,” Y/N replied, resting her head on his chest once more. “Me too.”

And for that morning, at least, the world outside faded away. It was just them, wrapped up in each other, savoring the simple joy of being together—no rush, no distractions. Just love, warmth, and the quiet intimacy of a lazy morning in London.

celebnews Doctor Who co-stars fuel romance rumours during their photoshoot in Venice. The two have been filming for the past year and a half and during this time the romance rumours have only grown.

During the shoot, the two were pictured in a close moment where Y/n brushed Matt's hair, and then Matt placed his arm over her.

On screen their characters have a slow burning romance story but in real life the romance seems to be blossoming fast.

Must be sad for you that even Matt Smith likes Daemyra :/ That you want to admit it or not, GRRM wrote Daemon for Rhaenyra and he stated that one of his favorite things about him is his relationship with Rhaenyra. Whereas Matt and Ryan Condal have both said Daemon loves Rhaenyra. Ryan even said Daemon killed Rhea because it prevented him from marrying the ‘woman he actually loves’. He also backtracked from the choking when Matt admitted he didn’t understand that scene and didn’t want to do it (with Emma) sooo. Stay in your delusions and hatred for Rhaenyra and Daemyra but I promise you: the things you want and hope for Nettles and Daemon isn’t happening.

Also, you can claim as much as you want that you love Nettles just as an individual character but no one is stupid. Every time you bring her up its either to talk about Daemon or Rhaenyra. Be serious

i genuinely don't know how to convey the euphoria i feel about ncuti gatwa being the fifteenth doctor & how excited i am about his first season into words & this is so new for me, i started watching & became a whovian in 2008 & never ever have i ever been excited about a new version of the doctor quite like i have been excited about ncuti gatwa as fifteen. i have always been apprehensive about regeneration, i hate change. when i was 9 & david tennant was going to become matt smith i couldn't imagine anyone playing the doctor other than david tennant, he was my first & this was the first time i was seeing a doctor regenerate & 9 year old me was so negative about it to the point where my parents decided to traumatise me with the doctor who movie to try & show me that this has always happened & that there are so many other wonderful versions of the doctor, that experiment did in fact give me ✨seven issues✨ & is the reason why i am so attached to that little gremlin to this day & then they showed me series 1 & how nine became ten & yet i still was apprehensive about eleven until i watched his first episode & was blown away with how good it was & felt happy about him being the doctor now. then it's 2013 & matt smith was going to become peter capaldi & for me it was an immediate 😬 i couldn't imagine eleven becoming twelve. i couldn't imagine the doctor looking like the character that traumatised me in children of earth & it wasn't until class that i fell in love with twelve. then it's 2017 & twelve is becoming thirteen & yes she's beautiful, it's an absolute win for the women who love women & i loved jodie whittaker in trust me but fluffy space grandad twelve would be leaving & how could i imagine anyone being the doctor after him? but then her season started & i love her so much 🥰

(he's definitely a new version of the doctor but i count the regeneration of thirteen to fourteen & david tennant returning to the role the same way i count jo martin & john hurt's doctors)

BUT NOW?!?! with ncuti gatwa?!? as soon as he was announced i wanted the new season immediately, everything about him becoming the doctor just felt right, i don't know if it was because me & my friend at uni said in the kitchen one morning that ncuti gatwa would be a good doctor who one day or what it was but i just knew that this was the greatest news & that everything, every little crumb, poster, trailer & when the giggle & the church on ruby road aired every moment was just fantastic & left me wanting more & that makes me so happy that i have finally been excited about a regeneration.

The Targaryen wig was a source of endless frustration for Matt. Every day, the meticulous wig crew spent what felt like ages getting it just right, adjusting the pale platinum strands to make him look like the brooding prince he played. But by midday, the itching would set in. He’d pull at it slightly between takes, muttering about how this wig was “the bane of his existence.”

Y/N found his irritation endearing, watching as he struggled to keep his patience intact, the long white locks a stark contrast to his usual look. It was just a wig, yet she couldn’t help but find it absurdly attractive. The blond gave him an intense, almost ethereal look, adding an edge to his character that made her heart skip a beat.

One day, Matt caught her staring a little too intently. “What?” he asked, narrowing his eyes as he ruffled the wig to relieve the itch.

Y/N bit her lip to keep from laughing. “Nothing… It’s just… you look way too good with that wig. Makes you look so… princely.”

He raised an eyebrow, feigning indifference. “You think so? Because all I feel is itchy and slightly ridiculous.”

“Well, maybe I find itchy and slightly ridiculous attractive,” she teased, leaning in with a smirk.

Matt rolled his eyes, but there was a glint of amusement—and maybe even a hint of pride. “You better like it because I have to wear this thing for hours,” he joked, “and now I have an image to uphold.”

She leaned closer, running her hand through the blond strands. “I can’t say I mind. You look annoyingly hot with it.”

His lips twisted into a smirk, his eyes darkening. “Good to know. Guess I’ll just have to embrace my Targaryen allure then,” he said, the teasing edge in his voice undeniable.

He leaned in close, and with a playful gleam in his eyes, muttered, “I’ll keep the wig on for you later, then.”

Hii! Do you think Ewan was a whovian as a teen? I just think he was 100% and Matt Smith probably was his favorite Doctor. I don’t know why but I just get this vibe from him lol. Fingers crossed Matt and Ewan will interact during press for upcoming seasons. Ewan may not like doing this stuff but he’ll have to deal with it

He's a film/TV buff, so he's likely watched Dr. Who. I don't get the impression he's a Whovian though. He said the only reason he avoided Matt on set was to make Aemond and Daemon's first sighting of each other more impactful. I don't think he was starstruck.

Personally, I hope he stays out of the spotlight as much as possible - as much as I enjoy the crumbs, I don't want it to be at the detriment of Ewan's comfort and happiness so I don't agree that "he'll have to deal with it".

The addictive, upbeat melodies of introductory track ‘Three Cheers!’ are matched to an impactful percussive punch; ‘Say What You Mean’ finds The Umbrellas working with total confidence, letting the song ride out to its chiming conclusion, four voices working in precision. ‘When You Find Out’ offers rotating notes of guitar punctuated by a vocal that pushes past angst to accept a world full of hope. A lean 10 track affair, it grasps towards beatific pop while fuelled by a sense of risk-taking and the precision that comes from long months on the road. The Umbrellas coalesced in 2018 around a group of musicians with connections to the legendary San Francisco record emporium Amoeba Music. Singer and guitarist Matt Ferrera had previous links with bassist Nick Oka, as well as the powerhouse drummer Keith Frerichs. A chance encounter with Morgan Stanley singing karaoke at a Fourth of July party cemented the line-up around an avowed thirst for melody. “All of us love really earnest pop songs,” Nick points out. “I guess we got to a point in our lives where we wanted to be genuine.” Playing shows at San Francisco’s vital DIY redoubt Hit Gallery, The Umbrellas would share line-ups with local heroes such as April Magazine and Cindy. Recording their debut album across a two-day spell at Matt’s parents’ house, the results won a devoted cult following. The experience of frequent touring bonded them tightly and allowed the volume to tick up a little higher (and higher...) and and feeding a desire for their next record to more closely mirror the energy of their live shows. “I think we got tired of people saying, oh you’re so much louder than I thought you’d be!” laughs Matt. “Our early recordings are sweet and earnest… and we wanted it to be louder.” Kicking off sessions in November 2022, the band used an ad hoc space Matt created in his basement, which allowed the sessions to be a little more relaxed in terms of timescale than their debut. “We gave ourselves more space for this album,” says Keith. “We wanted time to sit on the songs, and really work on them.” Capturing their thrilling live dynamic on tape, The Umbrellas are at once more physical and yet also more controlled on their new album. Take opening track ‘Three Cheers!’ – the peppy, sun-soaked rush masks a barbed lyric, courtesy of Nick Oka. “It’s a pseudo-political song about power struggles that occur in a job situation, or a friend group. It’s an observational song.” ‘Toe The Line’ has an unkempt, rollicking sense of energy, the playful relationship analogy of the lyric pushed to the speed of light by Keith’s just-chaotic-enough punk drumming. ‘When You Find Out’ meanwhile epitomises their unified, egalitarian way of making music – with The Umbrellas, each voice counts. “It sounds different from any song we’ve ever written together,” says Morgan. “It shows how much we’ve grown. Trust helps us to build the songs. It’s definitely a team effort.” It's also a record of ambition. ‘Say What You Mean’ stretches past the four-minute mark, the viola performance informed by Estonian minimalist composer Arvo Pärt. ‘Gone’ was the first song attempted for the new album, and the last they actually finished, endless re-writes transforming it into a manifesto of control and release. Taken as a whole Fairweather Friend is a bold indiepop triumph, crafted with purpose and attention. Taking their time over each note, the four-piece have strengthened their songwriting, adding depth and assurance while unlocking their potential.
