Princess Goes – Music Hall of Williamsburg – August 7, 2024

They put out their third album, Come of Age, last year, and last night the NYC synth-pop group Princess Goes (formerly Princess Goes to the Butterfly Museum) kicked off their August tour with a hometown show at Music Hall of Williamsburg.

(Princess Goes play Underground Arts in Philadelphia tomorrow.)

PRINCESS GOES @ CLUB ACADEMY, MANCHESTER

Princess Goes (an avant-garde supergroup consisting of vocalist and Dexter actor Michael C. Hall, guitarist and keyboardist Matt Katz-Bohen, and drummer Peter Yanowitz.) They recently shortened their name from Princess Goes to the Butterfly Museum. I would have preferred Princess and the Butterfly as I am unsure where they go...however, I digress.

They have a new album set for release, 'Come Of Age' the previous album was a stunning masterpiece. Ketamine was my favourite track. I shot them initially in 2021 in Liverpool - in a dingy tiny room on a backstreet. Apparently, they do love playing in dives.

I had hoped playing the Club Academy we would have some superb lighting, but was soon disappointed. I know, I know we are always moaning about lighting...the narrow pit was also rammed, so there was a lot of jostling going on. Support was from the comedic songbird Beija Flo based in Liverpool.

Blondie mostra Debbie Harry aos 77 anos em sua melhor forma

Nile Rodgers acompanhou a musa em Rapture Um dos melhores momentos do Coachella 2023 foi a apresentação da banda Blondie, de Debbie Harry. A lendária cantora, hoje com 77 anos, impressionou e emocionou fãs originais e a massa de jovens que foi conferir o show.  O setlist contou com alguns dos grandes hits da banda, uma das mais importantes da New Wave e da era do CBGB de N.York. One Way or Another, Call Me, Hanging on the Telephone, Rapture, The Tide is High, Heart of Glass e Dreaming, entre outras, foram ovacionadas pelo público do Coachella.  O über produtor Nile Rodgers acompanhou Debbie Harry em Rapture e Backfired, a primeira música solo dela, de 1981 que foi produzida por ele e por Bernard Edwards do Chic. A banda Blondie continua com três membros originários da sua formação, nos anos 70: Debbie Harry, Chris Stein e Clem Burke. Outro artista lendário hoje faz parte da banda: Glen Matlock, o baixista dos Sex Pistols.
