“Neil, you don’t need to go at all. Just come with us to New York City.” Kevin pleads, stepping further into the conversation.

“If I don’t go then there won’t be anyone who can watch Jean’s back. He doesn’t have a choice.” Neil says.

“Jean will be fine, they won’t hurt him. They know he’s a main family asset.” Kevin dismisses and Neil stares at him as if Kevin has grown a second head.

random "The Amazing Digital Circus" theory

Okay, so recently I watched this video called "Why Do Rabbits Symbolize Violence" by this youtuber named Deep Diver, and the youtuber made the connection of rabbits in horror representing an idea that something innocent (such as rabbits and children) becoming corrupted, horrible, and scary.

This made me think about Jax from "The Amazing Digital Circus", because until this point I thought that the confirmed ages of the characters, such as Jax being 22, was just the age that they recently turned minus the years that I thought were the years that they entered the circus. I don't remember exactly where I found these years that I thought were the characters circus-entering years but I now have no clue if those years hold any significance and I seriously doubt that they do.

I want to make this very clear that don't remember this information coming from a credible source, and I don't want to spread false information. The only reason that I find it important enough to bring up was because somehow, I did math with the wrong numbers and thought that Jax was 5 when he entered "The Amazing Digital Circus" and spent 17 years in the digital circus simulation and entered it in the year 2006.

This reminded me of the connection that the youtuber made with innocent rabbits and innocent children being corrupted and horrifying. Then, when calculating what Gangle's age would have been, I realized that this method didn't make sense due to labor laws since I don't think that she would have been allowed to be a fast-food shift manager at 13. Then I googled "what were the years of the rabbit", and found that the closet year before 2006 was 1999. Then I googled horror movies in 1999 and when scrolling through the Wikipedia page, I found "Children of the Corn 666: Issac's return", and, even though I now was quite sure that Jax wasn't a 5 year old child when entering, I remembered the connection of corrupted innocence and children and rabbits. So then it got in my head that perhaps Jax (when living life as a teen in the real world, since even though my age idea had changed, I still was/am very confused on what year they were born and when the entered the digital circus) was possibly a literature/symbolism nerd and recognized that 1999 was the year of the rabbit, and thought, "hey why don't I watch a movie about the corruption of innocence" (definitely a fetch) and the first horror movie relating to that he saw was that "Children of the Corn 666: Issac's return" movie, and was terrified watching it and never watched another horror movie again because it scared him so much.

I do have a slight head canon that the avatars of the characters were specifically chosen, consciously or subconsciously, by the individual characters.

Then when I couldn't find the source on where I found the year that Jax entered the digital circus, I was starting to realize a bunch of questions I had about my theory and then I remembered that Jax is afraid of corn so now my theory is=

Jax was a bit of a literature/symbolism nerd and realized that "Children of the Corn 666: Issac's return" came out in 1999 during the year of the rabbit, watched that movie, planning to watch the rest after that one, but was too scared after that to watch any more, and became scared of the word "corn" in general after that. Then I think that Jax subconsciously chose the rabbit avatar due to my unfounded theory that I guess I now have of him being a literature/symbolism nerd

it's july when mallory james moves in with her big brother.

her high school graduation already feels like a distant memory rather than something that happened only a month ago. california is nothing but a state in the rearview mirror, and everything ahead of her appears dull, an empty replacement for the life she was supposed to live.

eddie is a familiar presence in an unfamiliar situation, and mallory loves him, but there isn't much her brother can do for her other than provide a roof over her head and a chance to heal.

she doesn't want to heal. she doesn't want to acknowledge the fact that there's anything to heal from.

it's this stubbornness that leads her to baneberry grove community college - refusing to accept that she probably isn't ready to move on, she signs up for classes, gets her financial aid, and insists to herself that she isn't there to make friends, no matter how many times people try to approach her. she may not know why she's there, but she knows it isn't companionship she wants.

Okay so if you are a nerd, like me, and are terrible at math (also me) and very specifically have a combination of interest in sims 4 and space- I got help figuring out how to get Lunar Landing Day into the standard 7 day season cycle in seasons and figured I would share it if you’d similarly like to add a lunar holiday to your sims.

See- the fun thing about summer is (in the northern hemisphere) it’s about 93.6 days long. So when I started with math it was like oh jeez how am I going to slide this down into workable units to calculate lunar landing day. Well, the solution is start with the beginning of summer. This is generally June 20-22, it depends on the year. For simplicity- we’re using June 20th because Lunar Landing Day is a month from it, which gives us a nice number of 30. (I checked- each number by dividing 93.6 by 28, 29 and 30. The numbers are 3.34, 3.22, and 3.12 respectively).

So now we know it’s pretty much exactly one third of the way through summer! Great! One third of seven is 2.3 repeating. Plugging each of the numbers in gets 2.09, 2.16, and 2.24 respectively. Which pretty solidly puts it at the second day of summer if you’re using standard sims 4 week long seasons.

If you wanna add a holiday I’ll leave it up to you! But I’ve been seeing some really awesome posts with people doing/planning little parties and baking stuff so I’m adding that to mine! Have fun with it! And happy lunar landing day!!

Norman was going to absolutely go feral when he found out that Pfto had forgotten that it was their two year anniversary, which Norman kept calling their golden anniversary even though it was only 2 years.

It was one thing to forget o buy milk. It was a totally different one to forget to buy your husband a present. “F god damn,” Otto thought. The only thing on the way home was a grocery store. They did NOT have diamonds. Well there probably were some ladies with diamond rinfs on but Otto couldn’t risk it after the incident at the farmers market.

But it was his only option, so he swung down from the building he’d been crawling on to go into the store. A lady held the door for him and he smiled at her.

“Thank you man,” Otto said. “I have to buy a present for my husband now.”

“Understandable,@ she said back to him and grumbled. “I forgot my husband s present too.”

“Wow,@ Otto said. “Classic. “

“Wait a minute,” said Otto. He pulled his glasses down to get a better look. “Are you Mary Jane ?”

The rehear redhead smiled. “Yes. And aren’t you doctor octopus?”

“I’m actually going. T ong by otto now,” Otto said. “It of course is my name.”

What he didn’t tell her was that, even though the green goblin was mostly gone now, Norman was still the biggest complainer on the planet. Don’t get him wrong Otto loved him more than anything else but gof damn could that man complain. And nothing at this Giant Eagle would satisfy him.

“Okay,” Otto said. “Think Otto. Make a plan man. Think of something think of something think of something think of something. Think of something think of something think of something.”

Just then a bright light speared to him. He had an idea. He could just buy Norman some small things to hold him off and then go buy something really nice the next day.

“I know,” Otto said. “I can just buy Norman something to hold him off until tomorrow.”

He smiled to himself and walked to the gift aisle. One of the tentacles picked up a card under the “for him” section.

“That’s a very male thought you just had,” said a voice to his left.

It was MJ! Otto sighed in relief.

“Hey my. Can you help me pick out a decent card?”

“Dammi and here I was thinking you were a romantic,” MJ said. “Peter told me after he visited you that one time that you were super smooth in a nerd way. “

“He said that?” Otto said.

“Oh yeah,” Mary Jane said. “Big time.”

“We’ll usually I’m better than this,” Otto said. “It’s just that Norman is a he’d hard man to please.”

“I bet,” she said. “Look at that outfit over hthere.” She pointed at a random woman. “Nice dress.”

“Focus MJ,” Otto said. “Look at this card.”

He showed her a card with a dog on the front. In this inside it was a phrase that said:

NICE CARD CHOICE, FUCKERN! HAPPY GODDAMN BIRTHDAY! 22b 22! 22! 22! 22! 22!

“I think that card is for college boys,” MH said. “Maybe look in the senior love category.”

Motto eyes her. “Fine, you win this round Mary Jane. “

He walked over there to the card section and browsed the selections carefully. He opened one up.

I love you forever my husband, the card said on the inside. Otto grinned. Oh yeah. Classic.

Then he went to the cut flowed flowers area. The woman behind the counter looked up and then held up one finger to show him it would be a minute. Otto frowned. She wasn’t even doing anything. She wasn’t like on the phone or nothing. She just was taking her sweet sweet time.

“Gotta respect that,” Otto said. “That’s pretty cool.”

“Did you say you have to respect me?” The woman said.

“Fuck, I thought I thought that,” Otto thought.

“Did you just say fuck to me?” The woman said.

“Fuck, I thought I thought that one too,” Otto thought that he thought.

“Whatever. Just give me the money and I’ll get you the flowers.”

With a bunch of roses and a card in the car, Otto drive back to the apartment that they shared. They were still getting back on their feet after the time switch and the modest living arrangements weren’t exactly ticking Norman’s fancy. Maybe these would cheer him up.

When Otto knocked on the door, Norman said “what’s the password?”

“Norman loves donuts,” Otto said.

He heard the bank sound of the lock opening. Norman looked at the flowers.

“Giù you forgot about our golden anniversary didn’t you?”

“No” Otto said. He looked back and forth quickly.

“Really? Because I just got off the phone with Spider-Man and he was telling me that MJ also forgot THEIR anniversary. Kind of a lucky coincidence, huh?”

Motto sweated h see under his sweater. “Fine, he admitted to his husband that he had forgotten. “I forgot. But I still love you. And I’m gonna go find a jewel for you tomorrow. For now,” he dug out of his pocket the card. “I love you.”

Norman smiled. Maybe all this change had softens his heard. Heart. Yeah probably that was it.

“Oh,” Norman said. That’s very thoughtful. “ he opened the card. On the inside it read

NICE CARD CHOICE LOSER AND HAPPY OLD PERSON ANNIVERSARY, MUST VE CAUSE THIS CARD SAYS 65 ON THE FRONT. 65 YEARS? HAHA WHATS THE CONCERSION CONVERSION RATE ON THAT? BACK THEN I BET IT WAS LIKE 200 YEARS WITH INFLATION BRO! HAPPY DAY.

Norman looked up at him. Oh my god. It was the wrong card. But then Norman broke into a smile.

“I loved you,” he said. “I still do love you, obviously. “ he kissed Otto on the lips.

“Nice,” otto said.

“Love you,” Norman said. “Now I can’t wait for another date with this guy,” he said.

“What, we’re already married Norman.”

“I thought that was a thought,” Norman said. “Damn.”

Motto wrapped Norman up in his arms. He real arms not the tentacles that is.

“I love you,” Jorman ,”. .

“Wait that was let me try that again,” he said. “I love you Norman. Happy golden anniversary.”

Norman eyed him. “It’s only been two years Otto,” he said.

“Oh my gof,” Otto said. “You are so lucky that we’re in love.”

1. How many do you have on Ao3? Well, just five on AO3. Including the short fics on Tumblr, I've written 22. I've never counted them before!! I'm a relatively new writer, started in late 2019 aaand I'm in my thirties lmao.

2. What’s your total Ao3 word count? I've also never counted this! Ok, gotta do some math... current tally is 176,493.

3. How many fandoms have you written for and what are they? Just one! I hyperfixate like nobody's business lmao. Joker fandom, Ledger in Nolan's The Dark Knight.

5. Do you respond to comments, why or why not?  Yes! I think I've responded to all of them! Although, it can take me awhile to get to it. Comments make me SO damn happy and they seriously mean so much to me. They are my main motivation. Whenever I'm brainstorming, I always think about my readers and what they might like. I can't help but respond. Especially to readers I hear from on every chapter 🥺 my heart is melting just thinking about it. 😭💖

6. What’s the fic you’ve written with the angstiest ending? 

Ahhh well, that has yet to be written. 👀

7. Do you write crossovers? Nah, that's not my jam. AUs... now that's my jam.

8. Have you ever received hate on a fic? Once... I think. It was a really weird comment that I determined was likely making fun of me and they sure went out of their way to say... something, I can't even remember what they said, great job being memorable.

9. Do you write smut? If so what kind? Absolutely! Well, define what kind. I write OC and reader point of view for kinks, a little BDSM, dark and dangerous, hot and heavy, slow and torturous, the occasional fluffy stuff, but always consensual adults.

10. Have you ever had a fic stolen? Not that I'm aware of.

11. Have you ever had a fic translated? Not that I'm aware of, but that'd be so cool!

12. Have you ever co-written a fic before? Sorta! I'd love to do more!! Hit me up!

13. What is your all time favorite ship? Ledger Joker x reader/OC because I'm a giant nerd.

14. What’s a WIP that you want to finish but don’t think you ever will? I got a few comments expressing interest in a second part to Something Different but it keeps slipping my mind!

15. What are your writing strengths? Ah, well, shameless brag! I think I'm rather good at creating a good image of the setting in which everything is taking place as well as imagery in general. I also looove dialogue and I think that's one of my strong points.

16. What are your writing weaknesses? I think one of my strengths is also a downfall. I spend an unreal amount of time getting my wording perfect to make sure everything comes out the way I want it too. I also have written myself into a corner with plot points that I didn't plan ahead of time. 😂

17. What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic? Wow, that is actually something I've never thought about before and it's an incredible idea! Difficult to do since I'm not multi-lingual but I'm rather determined to do this. 👀👀

18. What was the first fandom you wrote for? First and only answered in number 3.

19. What’s your favorite fic you’ve ever written? Oh man, I love writing all of them! But if we're picking favorites... Custom. It's definitely my favorite and feels the most aligned with canon to me.

I saw this “100 OTP questions” by @the-moon-dust-writings and figured I'd procrastinate:

1. Who loves flower crowns more?

Neither of them really, but Asami might make Iroh wear one just to laugh at him.

2. Who is the one who likes to cuddle?

Iroh. Asami likes it, too, but he usually initiates.

3. Who has awful taste in music?

Honestly, both of them. Asami likes terrible dance music and Iroh likes obscure combinations of horns and bells and stuff from different cultures.

4. Who is the meme lover?

Asami thinks they’re funny. Iroh doesn’t quite understand.

5. How did their second date go?

Iroh tried to take Asami somewhere very fancy, but the wait was too long. They ended up making out in a shadowy doorway down the street and missing their reservation entirely. Iroh was mortified, but Asami dragged him around the corner to a low-key noodle shop that has since become their favorite restaurant.

6. How many children do they want/have?

Asami thinks about three. Iroh, as many as Asami will agree to.

7. Who hides the weapons?

Iroh hides weapons for Asami around the house so she’ll always have something on hand. In a drawer in the kitchen, on her nightstand, etc. He knows she can take care of herself… and he stashes weapons for her anyway. Asami rolls her eyes but secretly thinks it’s sweet.

8. Who is the better dancer?

Asami. She likes dancing, and learned formal dancing in school. Iroh can’t dance at all, having skipped out on all his lessons as a child after bribing his instructor. He thought dancing is boring, but likes dancing with Asami and lets her lead.

9. Do/Did they have a theme wedding?

No. They quite deliberately have a very normal wedding, including cutting out a lot of the more stuffy Fire Nation customs because Iroh doesn’t want Asami to feel out of place not having any family present.

10. What do their parents think of them dating?

Hiroshi Sato is livid, and actually tried to have Iroh assassinated from prison. His little girl, marry a firebender? A prince of the firebenders? Iroh’s parents are more accepting. Izumi initially thinks Asami is too young and gives Iroh a hard time about how quickly he got serious, but quickly comes around when it’s clear Asami is very mature for her age. Within a year Iroh’s parents are both hounding him on when he’ll make it official.

11. Are they a super sappy couple?

They are that couple everybody hates.

12. How did they get together?

They meet during the Equalist revolution, but don’t get together until long after. Iroh has a crush on Asami almost immediately, but spends forever sitting on it thinking it wasn’t the right time and trying to be friends until one day he just kind of slips up and kisses her. She kisses him back. It turns out Asami liked him, too, but she isn’t great at reading people and had no idea he was interested.

13. Who asked the other to get married?

Iroh just kind of blurts it out one day.

14. Who stays up too late and makes stupid jokes?

Asami is the night owl. Iroh makes the bad jokes.

15. Who is the nerd?

Oh my god, both of them. Asami is more of the classic nerd. Iroh is more of a dork.

Iroh.

Two questions about flower crowns out of 100?? Changing this to who is more dominant in bed. Asami.

Iroh. They both do, but he’s much more into it.

Asami. She has the shorter attention span.

They both would in different subjects. Asami is better at math, physics, etc. Iroh is better at philosophy and languages.

No. Asami likes gory slasher films and lots of action. Iroh scoffs and thinks they’re dumb. Asami, in turn, thinks his period dramas can be kind of boring, and refuses to count documentaries as movies. But there’s a healthy overlap in things like Vikings and Game of Thrones.

22. How do their personalities complement each other?

Asami helps Iroh lighten up a bit, drawing him out of his shell, and gives him an anchor and a sense of home. She’s more social than he is, and a lot of her friends eventually become his. But she’s also quiet enough and serious enough that she doesn’t tire him out and can feed his need for downtime. Iroh, in turn, loves seldom but deeply, and gives Asami the kind of fierce, unconditional love and stability she needs. He’s also genuinely interested in her projects, is smart enough to follow most of it, and is one of the only people who can occasionally beat her in Pai Sho. They have a lot of fun together just being nerds.

They don’t have to tell anybody. It’s all over Iroh’s face like a big neon sign.

Asami, but not by much. She’s more up to date with trends, while Iroh’s style is clean and classic.

Hoo boy, both of them. Do not go there.

Neither of them sing in the satomobile. Iroh has a decent voice, but he’s a bit private about it. Asami mostly hums.

27. What other couple would your otp get along with?

Iroh quickly becomes BFFs with Bolin. Asami and Opal aren’t quite as close, but they like each other’s company and have fun as a foursome. They also get along quite well with Pema and Tenzin.

28. Who likes to prank the other?

Iroh tries more often. Asami’s pranks are more successful.

29. Who is the one who loves to take pictures?

Iroh, though generally Korra is the picture taker in the group.

30. How would they react if they found out they were soul mates?

Iroh raises an eyebrow. “Hmm.” Asami only shrugs. They both already knew that.

31. Where would they live?

They like Republic City and decide to stay downtown, first in an apartment and eventually a larger townhouse.

32. What type of dragon would they own, if they could have one?

Whichever one Iroh made friends with. Asami is a bit wary of animals and would need him to convince her it was safe.

33. If they were both vampires, what type of vampires would they be?

The kind that live in a beautiful house with perfect collections that took hundreds of years to make. Iroh has first editions of everything in a giant library, arranged in a complex system only he understands. He’s working on his 14th language. Asami has invented artificial blood and doesn’t miss sunburns. Occasionally she’ll throw one of those big fancy vampire balls just so they can both get dressed up. They’re pretty happy.

34. What would they dress up as, for Halloween?

They once went as Lady Tienhai and the last king of Mo Ce because picking something obscure and historical was the only way to get Iroh into a costume.

35. Can they name each other’s favourite food?

Kind of. They are both really into food, so picking a favorite is hard. But if the question is can they order for one another, absolutely.

36. Do they have pet names for one another?

Asami sometimes calls Iroh “General Hotstuff” when she’s teasing. Iroh sometimes calls Asami “sex pretzel” when he’s 1000% sure they are alone.

37. How do they cheer each other up?

Asami is more of a gift giver. She’ll show up with Iroh’s favorite take-out or make him something in her workshop—anything to make him feel special and valued. Iroh is all about quality time, and will swing by Asami’s office to haul her out on surprise dates. He also gives great hugs.

38. Do they show a lot of PDA?

No. Iroh is very uncomfortable with PDA, especially when he’s in uniform. Asami follows his lead.

Asami was 19-20, Iroh 24-25.

They’d take turns, and at some point Asami would turn it into a contest.

Iroh. Asami is a terrible cook.

Iroh covers a lot of the basics. He sets a schedule, makes lunches, tells bedtime stories, is more likely to help with the homework. Asami is the one who gets them around and does most of the interacting with teachers, other parents, etc. They share things fairly equally.

Iroh.

Asami.

Yes. Asami can be secretive about some of her projects, both out of an abundance of caution but also because she likes a big reveal. Iroh keeps some past relationship stuff close, and will occasionally read a steamy romance novel for “tips.”

Iroh tips very well.

Asami yells. Iroh yells back. One of them storms off. The other one waits about half an hour then goes to find them, usually with an offering of food. There are hugs. Somebody cries. Then they finally talk it out before falling asleep together.

Asami. She is less likely to have a pet, but if she does, it’s going to be a weird one.

Iroh is on the side by the window because he likes to get up with the sun.

There’s a photo Korra took at the beach where Iroh has Asami thrown over his shoulder right before dunking her in the water. This is the picture he takes with him when he’s deployed.

They are both big picture people, which is sometimes a problem. Of the two, Asami is probably better at details, but she’s also forgetful.

Asami would probably put up a picture of them and say something brief but sweet. Iroh doesn’t really understand social media and would just paste a heart-eyes emoji.

Iroh. He’s not bad, per se, but Asami is very, very good.

Both of them in different ways. Asami is generally more flexible. Iroh usually has a plan but makes big decisions completely off the cuff.

88. How do they comfort each other when they are helpless to do anything about the situation?

Lots of physical touch. Iroh will kind of just wrap himself around her in one giant, whole body hug. Asami will spend some time cursing out whomever is causing the issue, then let him lay his head in her lap and give Iroh a good head scratch or massage.

89. What is an inside joke they have?

There was one time they had sex in Asami’s office at Future Industries, so occasionally she’ll drop things like, “feel like coming by the office?” with a suggestive eyebrow waggle. Iroh is, predictably, very embarrassed. Also interested.

Asami: *exists* Iroh: *smiles*

91. What is their favourite holiday?

New Years is a big deal in the Fire Nation. Iroh loves his family and likes going home, and Asami has grown to love it almost as much.

They take turns. Both of them can have quite a temper when pushed too hard.

They’re both big Pai Sho fans, but can get into any kind of strategy game. Nobody really likes to play them though, they're too good.

Asami. Iroh hasn’t had a fire accident since he was four.

Asami. She’d rob the store, too, but no way is she letting Iroh drive.

Iroh booked a private box at the Republic City Opera, thinking that was an impressive thing he should do on a date. It turns out neither of them like opera, and by the end they were both making fun of it.

Asami. Iroh thinks it’s funny.

Asami, by a long shot.

Neither of them would really sing karaoke, but Iroh cannot hold his liquor like at all so if he ever got really plastered Asami might be able to drag him up there. By which point he’d be too far gone to have an opinion on the song and would sing just about anything.

Rehearsal (Peter Parker x Reader)

Summary: Peter and you have to rehearse a scene for your theatre class, which just so happens to have a kiss in it. (Gender neutral reader!)

Prompts: 1. “Why would you do this?” 22. “This is the part where you kiss me.”

Warnings: good old fashioned fluff

Note: Lol this one kinda got away from me. I used a random number generator to choose the prompts and only expected this to be like 800 words max but I ended up with over 2k so. but I really like what I ended up with so I hope y’all do too <3 mostly from Peter’s POV btw. oh and I tried to keep it gender neutral but it’s natural for me to write with a female reader so let me know if I accidentally left a few she’s/her’s in there.

Masterlist

Peter Parker is a nerd. He’s good at science and math, which is why he’s attending Midtown School of Science and Technology. Despite the STEM focus the school has, there’s still a requirement for at least one art-related class in order to graduate. When Peter chose an entry level Theatre class, he hoped it would focus more on the study of famous plays than actually having to stand on a stage and act. Peter was very, very wrong. For the first assignment of the semester, students had to pair up and perform a short, dramatic piece. He had been paired with Y/N Y/L/N, who he had a minor crush on. Ok, major crush. After he and MJ broke up last year, he honestly didn’t think he’d find anyone else for a while. But then Y/N transferred to Midtown, and he was whipped right from the start. 

“Look man, you gotta use this opportunity to make a move!” Peter and Ned were walking down the hallway between classes, Ned trying to convince Peter again that this was a great chance to finally tell Y/N how he feels. “Just look up some cute scene for the two of you to perform! It’ll be like when Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie fell in love on set!”

“I’m pretty sure they broke up, Ned.”

“Whatever. The point stands.”

The pair approached their lockers, where you were waiting. You had a few papers in your hand, which held your attention until you noticed Peter in front of you.

“H-hey. What’s up?” Peter tried his best to contain his stutter, but couldn’t help it. Y/N just had that effect on him.

“Hey Pete, I, um, I found some potential scripts for us to use for our assignment. I thought you could look over them before we rehearse at mine on Friday? I like them all, so whichever you wanna go with is fine...although I did put a star next to my favorite piece.” You handed half of the papers you were holding to Peter, keeping copies of each script for yourself. Peter noticed that the copies you kept had already been highlighted and annotated, while his were straight from the printer. Except for the small star at the top of the first script in his stack. Before Peter could respond, the warning bell began to ring, signaling only a minute to get to your next class. “Just text me whichever one you want, and we can walk to my place after school tomorrow to rehearse.” You said this as you began to walk away, giving Peter and Ned a small wave before you turned around to race to your final class of the day.

Instead of paying attention to his teacher’s lecture during Chemistry, Peter spent the 50 minute period reading through the scripts you had chosen. Peter already knew he wanted to perform the script you liked, but he was nervous. Your favorite scene happened to be the only one which called for a kiss, but he didn’t know if he had the guts to go for it. He could easily choose either of the other scenes and call it a day, but...well, was this your way of making a move? Had you intentionally chosen the script with a kiss to find out if Peter liked you? Did you like him? Or did you just choose that one because you genuinely thought it was the best option?

The bell rang, interrupting Peter’s thoughts and signaling the end of the school day. Hopefully a few hours of swinging through the streets of New York would be enough to distract Peter from thinking about you all night. For once, Peter was actually hoping New York criminals would keep him busy.

When Peter slipped through the window of his bedroom, his thoughts were unsurprisingly still revolving around you. Despite a somewhat busy night - two muggings, an almost-car crash, and one lost little girl now safely back with her mother - He still hadn’t been able to come to a decision. Half an hour ago you had texted Peter asking if he had chosen a script yet, and he still hadn’t responded. 

“Just go with the script they want, Pete. Even if Y/N doesn’t like you, at least you’ll get to kiss them.” He thought as he removed his skin-tight supersuit and changed into some sweats and a t-shirt. He grabbed his phone from the pocket of his backpack, and, after another minute or so of arguing with himself, finally began to type.

8:31 pm

Y/N:

hey pete, have you decided which script you wanna do yet?

9:06 pm

Peter:

Uh, yeah. I think the one you liked is the best.

9:08 pm

Y/N:

yesss, i was hoping you’d choose that one. i have great taste ;)

9:08 pm

Peter:

Haha, yeah, you do. We’ll rehearse tomorrow after school right?

9:10 pm

Y/N:

yup! i’ll meet you by your locker again :) see ya tomorrow pete

Peter decided to let the conversation end there. Honestly, he had no idea what to think. What does “I have great taste ;)” mean? Is that a reference to the kiss? Does this mean they like him? Or is it just a joke? Peter sent a screenshot of the conversation to Ned for help, but Ned being Ned wasn’t helpful at all.

Ned:

Just. Make. A. Move. 

9:16 pm

Ned:

Betty thinks you should make a move too.

Despite his confusion and nerves over tomorrow’s rehearsal, Peter managed to fall asleep at a reasonable time. Hopefully tomorrow he’d get the answers he was looking for.

Peter waited by his locker after the final bell rang. As the hallways began to clear, he noticed you making your way over to him.

“Sorry, I hope you weren’t waiting too long. My English class is basically all the way across the school.” You looked nervous. Is that good? Or bad? Have you been thinking about the kiss too?

“Y-you’re fine. I’ve only been here for like a minute.” That was a lie. Peter’s Chemistry class was just across the hall from his locker, but you didn’t need to know that. After he finished talking, you seemed to lose all sense of nerves.

“I guess it wasn’t me causing the nerves then…” Peter thought, his mood dropping a little.

“Oh good. Let’s get going then, my apartment is only a couple blocks from here.” And so you began the short walk to your place. You made some small talk on the way there, talking about your other classes instead of the one class you did share. 

“You have Mrs. Jenson third period right? I have her during fifth. Maybe we can study together for her tests...I know the school year just started, but I can already tell she’ll make her tests unnecessarily evil.” You said as the both of you entered your building. 

“That’s a good idea, I know someone who took her class last year and they said she always had essay questions. Not to mention 5 choices for multiple choice questions instead of the usual four.” Peter responded. As he spoke, they headed towards the elevator, and Y/N pressed the button, causing the doors to immediately open. After hitting the number 4 on the wall, the doors slowly began to close. Despite the unfortunate news he was sharing with Y/N, his voice had a hopeful tone to it; They want to hang out with him again. Sure, it’s just loose plans to study for a test sometime in the future, but hey, he’ll take it.

“Damn. History has never been my subject, so I’ll definitely need the extra study time. I can never remember all the important dates.” Your phone buzzed after that, causing you to glance down at it. As you responded to whoever had texted you, Peter was left to his thoughts when the elevator began to move. It wasn’t until the elevator doors opened and you stepped out that the conversation resumed. “That was my mom, guess she’s gonna be at work for a few more hours. We can order a pizza if you want, I’m not sure how long we’ll be rehearsing today.”

“Pizza, uhm,” Peter’s voice cracked, “Pizza sounds good.” Peter cursed to himself, but if you had noticed his voice cracking, you had the decency to ignore it. You pulled your keys from your backpack, and unlocked the second apartment on the floor. 

“Cool, I’ll order something online. Pepperoni ok for you?” You asked as you walked into the apartment, holding the door open for Peter. Peter only nodded, not really trusting his voice for the moment. He took a second to look around the place as you closed the door behind him. When you came into his eyesight again, you were looking at your phone, presumably ordering the pizza. “Since my mom isn’t here we can rehearse in the living room, it’s just this way.” Peter followed you as you led him across the apartment, then sat on the couch. He tried to give you space as you continued punching in the pizza order. While you were busy, Peter opened his own backpack and pulled out the script you had agreed upon. Last night he had highlighted his lines, although luckily for this assignment the teacher had mentioned that memorization was optional. After all, the school year had just begun and it was a beginner’s class.

“Ok, pizza will be here in like half an hour. Now we can get to work!” You quickly pulled out your own script from your backpack, and turned to face Peter. “Do you wanna just read through it a few times, then once we’re used to it we could start working out the blocking?” You suggested.

“Y-yeah, sure, that works for me.” Peter was relieved at this option; read throughs meant he didn’t have to worry about the kiss yet. “Your character starts, right?”

And so the two of you began reading through the script. It was short, only a few pages, and featured someone on the day of their wedding, and the man who was trying to convince them to leave their fiance. At first, the reading was a little awkward, as neither of you had any experience in acting, but by the third or fourth time you had gone through the script together, both of you were feeling much more comfortable. Instead of sitting away from each other on opposite ends of the couch, you were close, the way your characters would be. The blocking had even begun to take shape naturally, so you and Peter stood for the fifth reading, walking around the room, trying your best to embody the characters as they argued. This time, as you approached the end of the script however, Peter’s nerves returned.

“Why would you do this? Just barging in here on my wedding day?” You said, trying to act as frustrated and confused as you felt your character would be. 

“You and I both kn-know you don’t love him! You’ll never be happy with him!” Peter tried to keep his nerves in check, but he knew what was coming.

“And how do you know I’d be happier with you?” Following the stage directions indicated on your script, you stepped closer to Peter. Instead of continuing with the scene, Peter just stared at you, no longer looking at his script. “Uh, Pete?” He still didn’t respond. You were confused, until you looked back at the script. You weren’t sure how you had forgotten, after all, this is why you chose the scene in the first place. “Peter, this is the part where you kiss me” You said quietly. You had taken his choosing of this scene to mean he liked you too, but you weren’t sure. His eyes widened a little at your words though, which made your confidence drop. “O-or not, um, we could do a stage kiss, or you could just kiss my cheek, or we could just cut it complet-” Peter cut off your rambling by putting his hands on your cheek and bringing his lips to meet yours. You were shocked, but easily melted into the kiss. He was gentle as he kissed you, his nerves disappearing the second you kissed him back. After a while, you both separated from the kiss. Neither of you spoke for a minute, just staring at each other.

“U-um.. that was ok, right?” Peter whispered, as you were still pretty close to him. You only smiled, and gave him another short kiss as a response. Before you guys could do anything else, there was a knock at the door.

“Pizza!” Someone said loudly through the wood. Before you could make a move, Peter had grabbed his wallet and was already walking towards the front door.

“I’ll pay...after all, what kind of gentleman would I be if I let you pay on our first date?”

“Who is coming with us to Matt’s?” Nicky asks and…yeah Andrew can see the worst side dish piled high on his cousin’s plate.

“Neil,” Kevin answers, still not looking up from his notes. “They’re wondering if he’ll be coming, but I’m sure that Young Master Moriyama will need him working on other things.” 

“All work and no play would make Neil a very dull boy!” Nicky says settling his tray on the table and there is so much coleslaw. Part of Andrew can’t help but wonder if it is part of Nicky missing Erik.

Fate Winx Saga first impression

that no one asked for

I watched the trailer and I guess I will complain and talk about it like everyone else.

First off, which is the biggest topic atm; the cast

It is a big problem that they removed Tecna and Musa and made a new combine character out of it. If this actress is now part east-asian great for her, but it still hurts that they just didn’t include all the six characters. It will be a missing part to not have Tecna and see a girl who has short hair and has high intelligence within technology and math which would be a big representation for teenage girls who perhaps feels insecure to work with technology since it after all, man dominated work place. It would perhaps encourage girls to keep on to work with computers and math who feels insecure to go with it or not.

And it is also sad that Musa isn’t here anymore to represent for Asia (mostly China culture) culture and show how talented girls can be. I know K-pop is a big thing and can be very important role model, but west Asians? Perhaps I am blind or not looking very well, but I don’t see them at all within music industry. It is very sad and if they had Musa they would see that even West girls Asians can become very big within music.

And Flora, sorry, Terra, that is a whole new character. She is the same as Flora, sweet and has nature powers, but she is white. We who knows Winx Club knows they whitewashed Flora in season 8, and in The World Of Winx that was also produced by Netflix. I have always thought she is Latina and I think most of us have. So they said “we make a new character out of Flora” and it is great they have someone who cast as not long slendy model, this is what girls look like! But they chose to make her white. We all know it is Flora and she is supposed to have “natural tan” aka more Latina representation. You see the problem? They tried with “we know she is white but look! She isn’t long and slender!” which we rarely see now adays in Teenage Shows. So to wipe away the whitewash they tried to show they are all for body types. Who says Latinas can’t come in every shape?

Okay so move away from the chose of cast for a bit;

The trailer itself doesn’t bring so much magic to me. Winx Club was spraky and colourful. I know this target at older audience aka 16 and up. This is basically Riverdale production. But not everything need to be dark and serious in a show. I like it when shows are colourful and still have a mystery to solve.

They have now 1 big school, aka Alfea, there both witches (we don’t know if it is confirmed there are witches) and specialists are going to as well. And I saw Sky and ugh, I didn’t like him in Winx Club and judging by his small scene it will be like;

“That is Prince Sky of Eraklyon, he is the most popular guy here. Everyone loves Sky.”

And I am already TIRED of it. I don’t want Sky. I want Helia, WHO WONT EXISTS??? They will have Terra and Riven together?? Like okay?? But Helia is more WHOLESOME to Flora? Give us Helia nerds.

Trix doesn’t exists [this blog doesn’t support that Trix is taken away] they now have Beatrix (you see what they did there? Bea-TRIX)

Who seem to have powers like Stormy? But looks like Darcy? This will be an all mess tbh. And we know she will be a girl who tries to ruin for Bloom and will probably go after Sky. Since they now go in school together, Beateix can now bully Bloom on spot!

I know Igino Staffi has said he had new plans for this show, understandable that he want to change the story a bit for an older audience, but he also make this show for his OLD fans. He knows they love season 1-3 most. Wouldn’t it make more sense if he tried to have same characters in this new beginning of series? Trying to give representation as he did in season 1-3?

It is very much to take in with this series. It will be more when it relase on January 22.

I hit 500 followers on Twitter early this morning. Been trying to plan what kind of special thing to commemorate the event with, and I've had a few ideas, but I need to go to the trouble of reinventing my rig (again) in order to manage some of them.

1. Wow between 2008 and 2016, I did *not* even so much as take clothes stuffing selfies. There's just zero videos, even after I identified a suitable replacement inflatable that takes air well. There's not even water balloon selfies. (I had a cosplay with falsies but that doesn't really count imo.)

2. I found some of my oldest pics of myself clothes stuffing and I was thinking haha, wow, 2008, and I did the mental math, ok, 22yo. But I keep thinking of my SPB YT videos being uploaded when I was already in my thirties. 2008 does not feel like twelve years ago. And it feels so FALSE that I was only 22 in those videos. Who IS this nerd in the videos UGH.

3. I've been clothes stuffing since I was 12. Upgraded to water balloons at 13. Created my first rig prototype when I was only 14... And then even after I turned 18, I wasn't convinced until I was 22 anyone would care to see my amateur self-filmed rig effects???

from canada! was pretty “tech savvy” from a young age, turning on TVs and computers even when her mom had shut them off or put on parental controls. started making pretty advanced tiny robots at the same of 4, right as school was starting

labeled as the weird kid for all her tiny robots that often exploded or just had undesirable results whenever she was trying to show it off. bullied for years by other kids for being a nerd and overall weird. annie started getting revenge by making tiny stink bomb robots that would mask the other kids in a stench that would last for days or slime robots just squirted pink, glittery slime all over the person

bullying got worse as she got older and one day, things got physical. annie went home with a black eye and was suspended for “starting” the fight. since then she started making defensive gadgets to protect herself. they started off kind of bulky and obvious but as she entered junior high, she grew more cautious of her appearance and started incorporating her machinery into her make up and school supplies

(think totally spies) lipstick laser cutter, xray scanner cushion, web shooter bracelets and more. annie started transitioning more into jewelry gadgets to accessorize her outfits

at her peak paranoia, she created gas bomb earrings that would explode on a strong impact to the ground. on her test run day, she accidentally dropped one of her earrings and it filled the classroom with knock out gas

this DID NOT go over well for her and she was quickly expelled and her mom realize annie, her paranoia, and little gadgets were quickly becoming a danger to herself and her peers. which is when she told annie about her background and allowed her to go to camp where others could help her way better than her mom could

annie blossomed at camp after escaping the bullies from her human school. she loved making friends and quickly became a social butterfly after being deprived of all of that before

she’s pretty defensive and has a hard time trusting people however. her paranoia gets the better of her so one misstep and she might think you’re going against her/planning to do malicious towards her

she’s quite bubbly with her friends and always happy to hang out with them. she loves giving them tiny little gifts that she built for them.

miscommunication:  ( open to anyone ) these two sadly just don’t get along no matter how many times they tried to find some common ground. their feud grows as their pranks get more intense. annie uses her machinery to her advantage and constantly sends her robots to do her dirty work 

valentine: ( open to anyone ) annie is, quite bluntly, obsessed with this person and it was quite clear. She has presented them with several gifts ranging from tiny gadgets to pet robots to traps and more. each gift attached with a handwritten, loving note. 

bad girl gone better: ( female, any age ) double trouble. annie supplies the machines, the other person does the planning and together they throw massive pranks to everyone at school. they’re rotten to the core and prove so at every chance given. 

anti agile: ( cs major/engineering major ) CS is all about team work which annie isn’t the biggest fan of. she can speak to the machines just fine on her own but having to work with someone else presents even more problems for her. they get randomly assigned to work on a project together to make an app and the team starts off rocky

Character Info.

April 24th, 1993, 42, Thomas Sanders- Thomas was the first to be chosen for the Ares III mission. He graduated with honors from the US Naval Academy with a Doctorate in oceanography. After the navy, he entered into CalTech's Division of Geological and Planetary Sciences before joining NASA and taking trips to the SpaceX Station. He takes a lot of time to speak at public gatherings and conferences, encouraging others to achieve their dreams as he did and living life to the fullest. Thomas has dedicated his recent months as Commander to making sure his team bonds and remains safe, oftentimes treating them like family or adopted sons. Thomas is NASA’s first openly gay commander and is proud of it and his 22 year long marriage with his husband, Daniel.

Appearance: Thomas Sanders is 5' 10" with a healthy body. He is not lean nor pudgy, being in a somewhat perfect balance in-between. Sanders wears a classic brown undercut with no ability to grow facial hair, much like Patton. His eye color is brown and he enjoys staying in old and new uniforms more than regular clothing.

January 15th, 2001, 34, Patton McManus- The youngest member of the 7 person crew on Ares III, Patton McManus is not someone to be trifled with, especially when it comes to his intelligence. Due to his young age, he finds himself underestimated a lot of the time, and not listened to. It was no surprise to him and his parents though when he got accepted into the Yale School of Medicine, receiving the Norma Bailey Berniker Prize, and his extensive training in Aerospace Medicine as a Captain in the United States Air Force Reserves. He joined NASA in 2029, increasing his training with a Masters Degree in Biomedical Science and was the second person chosen for the Ares III mission. Kind, caring, and generally just a sweetheart, Patton hopes to lighten all spirits on the mission and hopes to bond closely with everyone on board. Dr. McManus hopes that one day his 4-year-old son [from a past relationship] will follow his views on the world and grow up to help people just as his father does.

Appearance: Patton McManus is a soft healthy, 6' teddy bear. Dr. McManus is ginger, his hair always messy with untamed short curls. Freckles spot his face around his nose and under his eyes. He's a bit pudgy around the middle, having close to a dad bod [even though he has no kids]. He cannot grow any facial hair and wears round glasses with thick light blue frames, matching the color of his eyes. Patton tends to wear light-colored polo's and khaki's if he can but jeans work out just fine too. He is also almost always seen with a grey jacket tied around his waist or his neck resting on his shoulders.

June 4th, 1995, 40, Roman Cone- Roman was the third person to join the Ares III Crew, immediately getting along with Commander Sanders and Dr. McManus. Before joining the crew, Roman spent eleven years in the United States Air Force. Originally trained as a fighter pilot, Major Cone worked his way up to the USAF Test Pilot School. Continuing to keep up high marks and great performance he quickly gained respect from his peers and commanders. From a young age, he knew he was destined for NASA so he gained a bachelor of science in astronautical engineering at USAF Academy. At NASA he also became an MDV/MAV Specialist. Witty and outgoing, Roman enjoys taking up all the attention in the room, often doing dramatics to do so.

Appearance: Roman Cone is a sight to see, standing at 5' 9". He is more on the muscular side, though nothing near Dain's level of muscle mass. Major Cone is dirty blond, sporting a magnificent pompadour, never seen without it perfectly done, he has long sideburns that transition from blond to brown the more he grows them out. Roman tries not to let them grow into mutton chops but sometimes finds them there anyway. Surprisingly Roman enjoys sweatpants and baggy shirts more than anything fancy or dramatic. Roman's eyes are light green.

November 3rd, 1998, 36, Logan Locke- Logan graduated at the young age of 16, winning in NASA's largest hackathon a year later. Afterward, Logan moved onto MIT for dual undergraduate degrees in math and computer science. While starting graduate school, Mr. Locke started a private software company in the hopes of becoming a software engineer and CEO. Though his plans changed suddenly when he came into contact with a SpaceX executive who was impressed by his work. His decision to join NASA was later founded when she helped develop software that would later become an integral part of the Hermes operating system. With that knowledge of the Hermes, he wiggled his way into the Ares III crew, being the fourth one to join as the System operator and Reactor Technician. Logan found himself seemingly alone among the crew due to his introverted lifestyle along with his inability to "take a joke" [said by Roman after joke about MIT]. His emotionally repressive behavior got especially worse when Remus joined a few days after, mocking Logan for his OCD. These habits and behaviors seemed to only start getting better after meeting Ares III Botanist Virgil AsheFord, who shared some of these traits. Locke never includes his thoughts though when anyone bring up parents or family back home, no one knows why.

Appearance: Logan Locke is a lanky 5' 8" nerd. Wearing rectangle-shaped glasses with white half frames. Logan has thin cheekbones with a thick chin strap beard connected with a black goatee. His hair is slicked back but not as tightly nor as long as Dain's and without curls in the back. Logan's eyes are dark blue shade, often matching his professional outfits. Mr. Locke often wears button-down shirts or polos with a blue or black tie running below his belly button. he usually tucks his shirts into his pants, which are almost always jeans held up with an always new looking leather belt. he also wears what Roman calls "old man shoes" though he is quite proud of their permanent shininess. Logan actively chooses to not work out, instead, he just makes sure to eat as healthily as he can.

June 5th, 1995, 40, Remus Cone- Remus was the fifth person to be chosen for Ares III. Remus was invited to join the crew through NASA and the European Space Agency after being located in Germany for several years. Holding two master's degrees in chemistry and astrophysics. Remus has also earned a doctorate in chemistry from spending six months on Antarctica. Remus has published dozens of papers in international journals to pass time. Dr. Cone felt the need to assert himself with the family name after his brother Roman upstaged him constantly in college. Remus is fluent in French and German, often using those languages to swear when visiting his brother in the USA. Remus has a knack for being a trouble-maker around almost everyone he meets, making messes mostly on accident due to his childish clumsy nature. Dr. Cone is only found being serious when there's work to be done, the dedication to his job is one of the only things bonding him with the rest of the Ares III crew.

Appearance: Remus us a 5' 10" pure blond man. he is often found wearing unmatched clothing that some would call ugly af [but he likes it that way]. Sporting a low hanging man bun, his hair just might be the most yellow thing at NASA HQ and on the Hermes, but it's completely natural! To go along with his man bun, Remus has a majestically neat handlebar mustache. Remus resembles his older twin brother Roman a lot with his light blue eyes and wide chin. Baring a bigger nose than Roman though. He also cannot grow any other facial hair. Remus isn't as muscled as Roman, being a bit round in the middle but tries his hardest to remain interested in working out. Nowadays his interest is kept by working out with his gym buddy, Dain.

December 19th, 1999, 34, Virgil Asheford- Virgil had spent eleven months already working at NASA when he was chosen for Ares III. Originally attending the University of Chicago, Doctor AsheFord moved to Northwestern University to earn his Ph.D. in Plant Biology and Conservation with an emphasis on hydropedalogy and environmental engineering. When joining NASA, his work focused on hydrologic flow paths and sustainable water resources management within Earth's Critical Zone. Virgil spent the next two years in the peace Corps engineering sustainable agriculture and water irrigation systems for developing nations. Afterward, Virgil applied to the NASA Astronaut Candidate Program and was ultimately selected. Throughout his life Virgil has had a constant battle with his depression and anxiety, growing more introverted over time. His interest in Botany helped him through the battle he has fought so hard to win. Despite over complicating many different thoughts, solutions, and ideas, Virgil often finds the outcome satisfying and without flaw. Emotional repression from before and after his little sister's death made him hesitant to accept his part in Ares III until he met Computer Specialist Logan Locke, who also dealt with emotional repression. The two instantly bonded due to being different from the rest of the team as well as their inexplicable ability to fall into intensely deep existential crises.

Appearance: Virgil is a 5' 6" pale, thin man. He is healthily thin despite eating a lot [his fast metabolism runs in the family]. Virgil's hair was dyed crow-black before being selected for Ares III but is naturally brown in a Faux hawk style. Virgil usually has short stubble lining the bottom half of his face, never letting it grow longer than 1-2.5 millimeters long. Virgil regularly applies eye shadow around his eyes, earning him the nickname Plant Raccoon from Remus. AsheFord can always be seen wearing dark if-not-black clothing, unless in his NASA jumpsuit or his Ares III Mars EVA suit [he hates that it's mainly white and orange]. Virgil also wears many different types of boots, specifically requesting some from NASA for the Ares III trip to Mars. he takes extra time to make sure they are neat, clean, and shiny each morning, something he now does with Logan.

[Deceit] February 3rd, 1996, 39, D. [Dain] Dechard- The last member to join the Ares III crew, yet welcomed with open arms. Dechard often says little white lies to the crew and others around him to rile them up when he's bored and wants some action. He has a severe disliking towards his first name, so he tells people to call him Dain. The crew is always theorizing what his real name is. Dain was first brought into NASA by his father, a Rocket Engineer, and was immediately interesting in becoming an EVA Specialist so he could travel into space for Ares III. Before specializing in EVA, Dain had been a NASA Mathematician with an associate's degree, bachelor's degree, master's degree, and Ph.D. in Mathematics. From the age of 18 to 34, Dain was in College constantly to earn these degrees and never gained any friends because of it. Dain promised before leaving for the Ares III, that he’d keep in contact with his 9-year-old niece.

Appearance: Dain is a 6' 4" lean [ripped] gym rat. He's got slicked back ink-black hair with lines of grey coming in at his temples due to years of work and school. The back of his head is riddled with curls coming from the ends of strands. Sporting a lighter coal-black Van Dyke goatee [and quite proud of it too] he also has scars riddled across the side of his face from chin to forehead. More scars can be found throughout his body in an inconsistent pattern but suspiciously only on the right side of him. Dain's eyes are dark green and he tends to wear joggers and shorts along with skin-tight shirts. While his gym buddy has an ugly sense of fashion, Dain has no fashion sense whatsoever.
