Illudersi che si possa integrare pacificamente un'ampia comunità musulmana, fedele a un monoteismo teocratico che non accetta di distinguere il potere politico da quello religioso, con la società occidentale democratica, su questo equivoco si è scatenata la guerra in cui siamo.
Perché l'Islam che negli ultimi venti-trent'anni si è risvegliato in forma acuta - infiammato, pronto a farsi esplodere e assistito da nuove tecnologie sempre più pericolose - è un Islam incapace di evolversi. È un monoteismo teocratico fermo al nostro Medioevo. Ed è un Islam incompatibile con il monoteismo occidentale. Per molto tempo, dalla battaglia di Vienna in poi, queste due realtà si sono ignorate. Ora si scontrano di nuovo.
Perché le società libere, come l'Occidente, sono fondate sulla democrazia, cioè sulla sovranità popolare. L'Islam invece si fonda sulla sovranità di Allah. E se i musulmani pretendono di applicare tale principio nei Paesi occidentali il conflitto è inevitabile.
Dal 630 d.C. in avanti la Storia non ricorda casi in cui l'integrazione di islamici all'interno di società non-islamiche sia riuscita. Pensi all'India o all'Indonesia. Se invece l'immigrato arriva da noi e continua ad accettare tale principio e a rifiutare i nostri valori etico-politici significa che non potrà mai integrarsi. Infatti in Inghilterra e Francia ci ritroviamo una terza generazione di giovani islamici più fanatici e incattiviti che mai.
Cos'è il multiculturalismo? Cosa significa? Il multiculturalismo non esiste. La sinistra che brandisce la parola multiculturalismo non sa cosa sia l'Islam, fa discorsi da ignoranti. I cinesi continuano a essere cinesi anche dopo duemila anni, e convivono tranquillamente con le loro tradizioni e usanze nelle nostre città. Così gli ebrei. Ma i musulmani no. Nel privato possono e devono continuare a professare la propria religione, ma politicamente devono accettare la nostra regola della sovranità popolare.
Lo so anch'io che l'Inquisizione è stata un orrore. Ma quella fase di fanatismo l'Occidente l'ha superata da secoli. L'Islam no. L'Islam non ha capacità di evoluzione. È, e sarà sempre, ciò che era dieci secoli fa. È un mondo immobile, che non è mai entrato nella società industriale. Neppure i Paesi più ricchi, come l'Arabia Saudita. Hanno il petrolio e tantissimi soldi, ma non fabbricano nulla, acquistano da fuori qualsiasi prodotto finito. Il simbolo della loro civiltà, infatti, non è l'industria, ma il mercato, il suq.

at the time of writing, 34 for e and 20 for pi. there's also 22 for tau and 5 for the euler-mascheroni constant (aka "euler's constant", which I don't think everyone who suggested "euler's constant" is aware of but whatever I'm pretending they are)
