Sakura Blossoms
One of the most significant character moments for Sakura Haruno in the original series of Naruto remains one of the most misunderstood. This can, no doubt, be attributed to the fact that a large portion of shonen fans are incapable of understanding any form of writing that isn’t surface-level and doesn’t have to be spoon-fed to them. Many view this scene as an example of illogical decision-making by Sakura because she had an “opening” to stab her opponent, as shown here:
However, Masashi Kishimoto goes out of his way to provide two specific reasons as to why this approach wouldn’t work: a practical reason and a symbolic one.
Practically speaking, it is explicitly stated that had Sakura attempted to stab the Hidden Sound shinobi, it wouldn’t have worked.
It was also established very early on that there was a massive power imbalance between the two and that, no matter what Sakura did, the Hidden Sound shinobi would always have a counterattack because they were more skilled and had more experience. Hence, instead of using the Kunai to stab her opponent, as this particular Hidden Sound shinobi expected, Sakura decided to cut her hair—not only to catch her opponent off guard but because Sakura herself knew that stabbing her wouldn’t work; she’d simply be overpowered.
Symbolically speaking, the reason Kishimoto had Sakura cut her hair (the most important reason and the entire purpose of the scene in the first place) was to signify the beginning of her character arc. To understand this, we need to look at Sakura’s initial character traits and the perceptions she carried at the start of the series.
Initially, Sakura is introduced as a superficial, appearance-obsessed, boy-crazy girl who has a no real understanding of what it means to be a shinobi.
She even outright admits to already considering herself a full-fledged ninja despite having done nothing to earn that title.
This false self-perception is what leads Sakura astray compared to her teammates. She becomes disinterested in the idea of training to become stronger and doesn’t work for the skill she so desperately needs at this point in the story. In her mind, there’s no point in training if she’s already graduated the academy and become a “full-fledged” shinobi. Her own arrogance and naïveté on the subject even lead her to believe that she’s fully superior to her teammates on Team Seven.
However, as the story progresses, we see Sakura’s inexperience in battle and taijutsu, combined with her misguided priorities (particularly her obsession with Sasuke) and her arrogance regarding her own self-perceptions, make her overly reliant on her teammates. This not only makes Sakura a burden to her team but shows the consequences of her actions, behaviours, and beliefs.
The forest of death arc is so crucial for Sakura‘s character, as it pushes each member of Team Seven into moments of growth. For Sakura, it where she learns the true meaning of being a shinobi and the trials and tribulations that come along with it. Sakura is put in a situation where she’s forced to fight on her own for the first time in her life to protect her two teammates. As she does, her enemy grabs her by the hair, trapping her. With no escape, Sakura takes her Kunai and cuts her hair.
In this moment, Sakura is physically cutting off an aspect of her identity that aided in the superficial virtues of her character, both physically and emotionally. She is unbinding herself to the girl she used to be, freeing herself of her negative qualities and traits, and most importantly, her false self-perception regarding the identity of a shinobi. The act of haircutting within literature can carry various meanings, but the most common symbolism behind it is to mark a character’s transition into a new stage of life. In Ancient Greece, it was tradition to cut one’s hair as a sign of mourning, symbolizing a positive or negative change for the character. In Sakura’s case, she is “killing” her past self and mourning this loss through the act of cutting her hair, while also stepping in to a new sense of self with a clearer understanding of what it means to be a ninja and the harsh realities that follow it. That’s why this line:
Is so important because it serves as a representation, both figuratively and literally, that it’s Sakura’s turn to step into the role of a true shinobi—to be someone her teammates can count on and, most importantly, to say goodbye to the girl she once was.
What’s more is that we actually see how this character development impacts Sakura’s throughout the series. The Forest of Death scene is more than just words; it marks a transition she carries forward, not only becoming someone her comrades can rely on but also becoming someone who understands the deeper nature of things and people rather than viewing them through a superficial lens. This growth is especially evident in her desire to become stronger, seeking out training from a Sanin, and in the way she begins to see Sasuke after the Forest of Death. Instead of viewing him merely as an attractive classmate she has a crush on, she starts to see him for who he truly is—a traumatized boy falling prey to his own pain and going down a dark path. This new perception makes her want to help him, both physically and emotionally, rather than simply wanting to make him hers, as she did initially.
Ultimately, this scene is what gave Sakura the development to become the character she was at the end of the series—a strong kunoich and a true, full-fledged shinobi, as well as someone who can genuinely understand the pain and trauma of others.

Two of the names in "List of Victims" (a note found in UDG) share a surname with one of Genocider's victims.
Genocider has killed a man named Ken Harada and List of Victims has Hiroshi Harada. She has also killed a man named Youji Onda and List of Victims has Masashi Onda.
I checked the Japanese and their surnames are spelled the same in both cases. I know people can have the same surname without being related, but I like to think they are and Genocider's victims have a family out there.
Ken Harada was also one of the two victims actually shown in Genocider’s case file. I wish Hiroshi’s age was known so I could speculate an exact relationship (provided there is one at all).

I Wish I Could Tell You How I Fell

Fandom : Boruto
Relationship : Boruto x Sarada
My BoruSara Week 2025 contribution for the Free Day.
I’m sorry for the mistakes, English is not my native language. I hope you like it.
Summary : Boruto arrived in front of a small chalet lost a few miles from Konoha. It was far enough from the village that no one, not even Kawaki, noticed his presence. It was the ideal place to see Sarada without anyone knowing.
Disclaimer : Boruto belongs to Masashi Kishimoto and Mikio Ikemoto.
AO3 / FF.NET
Boruto arrived in front of a small chalet lost a few miles from Konoha. It was far enough from the village that no one, not even Kawaki, noticed his presence. It was a chalet that he and Sarada had found by chance when they were returning from a mission when he was still part of Team 7. When everything was normal, when he was still Boruto Uzumaki. It was a place only knew by them. Even Mitsuki and Konohamaru were unaware of its existence. It was the ideal place to see Sarada without anyone knowing. It was a chalet that had been abandoned for years. One of the windows had broken because of the weather, the door stuck easily and the roof was not in good condition.
Boruto put his hand on the door handle and opened it with a creak. Luckily that there was no one around, he thought. He went inside and saw Sarada lying on the worn couch that was near the fireplace. She was wrapped in a blanket that she had brought a few days ago. He approached her and crouched down. She was asleep. She looked so peaceful. He had noticed that it was something that rarely happened to her.
She was one of the few people who remembered Boruto Uzumaki. Even if she never spoke to him about it, he knew that things were difficult for her. The villagers only saw her as the daughter of a traitor and that she was defending another traitor who had killed the Hokage.
During the time he had spent with Sasuke, he had told him about his past, even if Boruto knew that there were certain things that he had kept to himself. He understood him better. But unfortunately, Sarada was paying the price for it. Boruto blamed himself. Because of him, she had to face all of this alone.
He raised his hand to brush away a strand of her hair that was falling on her face when Sarada moved slightly and opened her eyes slowly. He quickly took his hand away.
“Boruto ? Have you been here for a long time ?”
She sat up, rubbing her eyes.
“I just got here. We can meet another day if you want.”
Sarada woke up instantly.
“No !” She replied hastily. “I’m awake.”
Boruto restrained himself from smiling. He did not want to leave either. His fleeting encounters with Sarada were important to him. Much more than she could imagine. With her, he felt like he was the Boruto from before. He stood up and sat down next to Sarada. She offered him half of her blanket. He was not cold, but he accepted. They talked for a few minutes when he saw that Sarada had her eyes half-closed and she was fighting not to fall asleep.
“Go back to sleep,” he said. “I’m not going anywhere.”
Despite all this time apart, he knew her by heart. With a glance, he could read her. She did not want to be away from him and he did not want to either. Sarada closed her eyes and fell asleep right back. He put his arm around her shoulders and hugged her. She instinctively snuggled into his arms.
“I wish I could tell you how I feel,” he whispered.
He loved her. He always had. He had realized it when he had promised to protect her when she would become Hokage. But he could not confess his feelings to her. Not yet. Not while Omnipotence was still there.
He closed his eyes, enjoying this moment when Sarada was in his arms. He stayed with her until she woke up, as he had promised her.

💮 リニの話 • Kazekage’s Rescue Arc 💮
As his head snapped back into place with an audible crack, fractures spiderwebbed across his cheek. His cold eyes locked on Sakura, “I’d stop that. This body doesn’t feel pain.”
His body fixed back into position, smirking, “You women sure love doing pointless things, heh heh.”
But then, a memory intruded, unwanted. He wouldn’t allow anyone to see the cracks in his armor.
“I wont feel anything even if my own grandmother were to die.”
“Up until now, I’ve killed hundreds, thousands of people. She would be no different from any of them.”
“She too… is no different from any of them.”
“My heart is just like this body…”
Sakura clenched her teeth, rage boiling over.
“Things are simpler that way—”
【To be continued...】 . . .
Im sorry this one’s pretty sad. :c Sasori makes it clear that love has no place in his cold empty heart. He does not care for his grandmother and Rini’s just another tool in his arsenal... Just like everyone else to him. A weapon, future material.
Nothing more.
Im sure Sakura’s not going to like that one. ✨
The flashback is of Sasori and Rini having encountered a rare plant that only grows off the side of mountains, upon seeing her excitement, Sasori decides to use his threads to shake the mountain-side tree until it drops a sample or two for her.
Of course, Rini is very grateful and rewards Sasori for his effort. ❤️

UnPopular Jujutsu Kaisen Opinions (with arguments)
manga spoilers
☆ Yuji is the perfect MC
i've seen a lot of people trashing on him. some say gege writes him poorly and doesn't give him enough scenes, some say he's boring because he doesn't have any fancy cursed techniques. first of all, yuji has been aware of the jujutsu world for 6 months in manga; even less in anime. he doesn't have any OP cliche to him (looking at you Ichigo) and that makes him so much more enjoyable! when he loses he loses for good reasons and when he wins you can feel genuinely happy for him because you know he deserves it. he is a teenager and the shift in his mentalities embodies that perfectly; along with him we discover the cruelty and unfairness of the jujutsu world. at first, especially if you're a shonen watcher, you'd tend to believe he will shift to a high white knight borderline annoying mentality yet he doesn't, the jjk verse doesn't work like that. yuji is able to adapt. he has traits that you'd see in your real life friends: silliness, kindness, idiocy, love for jennifer lawrence etc but also traits that make him a perfect mc: empathy, resiliance, convinction, raw anger. + gege have him some of the HARDEST panels.
ㅡif it's just pain... Yuji Itadori won't ever stop

also. his last battle with mahito. hands down. best. panels.

mahito (another well structured villain) RUNNING for his life while yuji walks slowly behind him. if that doesn't show major improvement from the kid he was at the beginning idk what does. that's some MC shit right there man.

☆ Sukuna is not a fraud
the fraudkuna memes are funny. i admit. i'm sure mahoraga kisses him goodnight and tucks his blankey, however, sukuna is a fucking piece of shit, LOL (i mean it in the best way), my man literally became curse. people expect him to not use the weapons he has to his advantage as if he didn't want megumi from the beginning specifically for using his abilities. a good gun doesn't make you a military tier shooter. it's about the resources, it's about the experience, it's about the aim. "why doesn't he use his curse technique wah wah" — because he knows gojo is strong. unless he isn't absolutely sure he will strip him away from all his gimmicks, he has no reason to flaunt his true powers. sukuna wants to win. he wanted to kill gojo since the beginning of the series. i think the fight is balanced well, sukuna uses his resources and takes the consequences for being a tad too cautious. in the heian era when cursed energy had a purer, rawer output even domain expansions were simple in principles: you're in, i kill you. (line from the manga, btw) his CT is probably straightforward as well with a simple principle so having gojo use his infinity against it and figure out how to strip him naked would make him lose faster than todo called yuji his bestie.

☆ Gege doesn't hate women
because the unfortunate thing with nobara and yuki getting xd-d by kenjaku, a popular belief seems to be that gege is fond of trashing the women in his series. argument people have for that? "the only one in the spotlight is maki and she's female toji". first of all, if gege hated women he wouldn't write them as he does— each one of his lady characters is incredibly well structured and way beyond the love interest/ gotta be protected trope. mei mei, shoko, utahime, miwa and many others became non-existent, or what? even tengen is a woman. masashi kishimoto (the creator of naruto) is an author i'd say has 0 regards for women since the way most of his girl characters are built is literal dog shit. sakura is naruto's one sided love and a sasuke dickrider, hinata is a stalker that sharts when she sees naruto, karin is a sasuke dickrider, kurenai is asuma's chick and the only two women somewhat ok as a structure are tsunde and temari. (i am a big fan of the naruto series but i am spitting facts, also an avid sakura lover) plus there is a rumour that gege is a woman too and from the way sato sugu is written i'd agree anw
☆ Kenjaku is the best villain of the series
homie got railed by itadori's papi just for his plan, that's not even aizen level of plotting bro. he got drizzled in jizz and gave birth to yuji 💀
how good that d had to be for him to get impregnated....

ANYWAY jokes aside, he is very calculated and chill. he is not the strongest but his literal essence is to be a technique stealing leech and well, he's just that. with suguru, even in his villain arc you can empathize. sukuna is cool and straightforward: he wants to massacre people, kill gojo and then enjoy his life slashing random ass people who don't kneel is total submission.
kenjaku? bro, kenjaku has plans over plans and he executes all of them. even in geto's sexy body he still gets hated because there is genuinely nothing likeable about him. not because he's a poorly written character, he's written to be a piece of shit that makes you wanna break the screen when he gets a W and idk about y'all but even when he exorcised mahito i was like "aw hell nah bruh, get your hands off asap". may come as a shock, i know but we're like supposed to hate villains (not me being the biggest sukuna simp even in his crusty dusty OG form🤭) and well, nobody fucking roots for kenjaku. so gojo, go take your boyfriend's body or something fr.

☆ Yuta is.... mid
hear me out.
i don't hate him— not in the slightest. i hope he will actually have something going on with maki since apparently nobara is afk. i liked his entire rika situation but... bro.
yes, i will be going into the power system 😭I'M SORRY BUT like all he does is copy shit. wow. sure, he's a good copycat. i am not complaining about him being called so powerful and wtv but i don't find anything exciting about his battles and his personality is dead ass boring. do i get happy when he wins? yes. do i hope he'll come and save goatjo? yes. yes. yes. but people call him the real MC and all that shit... not even that— i... nothing in me likes him. my opinions are not absolute. his story is cool. i liked jjk 0 but the only thing that ruins his story is literally his lack of perosnality. and don't come at me for not grasping his depths or whatever. yuta is best fanfic y/n material because he can be turned into bashful stereotype really easily. "omg, best friend power, precious friends made me wanna live ❤️" very sweet HOWEVER very untouching for me. i only liked him when he made maki go all blushy because my girl deserves happiness.
☆ Toji actually cares about Megumi
is he the good father that would spoil his kid as a ray of sunshine?

no.
but he chose this. to forget about everything, to abandon his pride, to part himself away from the clan that rejected him and live his life on his own. megumi's mom made shit better for him and she died so his life became shit again. he thought that by entrusting megumi to the zenin clan he would actually be able to make something of himself since he had cursed energy.
also, people tend to forget just how conservative and judgemental the 3 big clans are, maki and mai have been shat on their whole life by the zenins, especially maki. toji went through the same shit if not worse. he wasn't always buff max version of himself, he wasn't born with anything. exactly because he gave up on all the things in his life he was able to reach that type of power and live with some purpose since he failed in everything else.
in the manga he has the option of coming back to life as long as he keeps killing sorcerers, which is his speciality, but he meets megumi, recognises him and kills himself in order to not hurt him. be fr. anciet sorcerers sold their booty holes to kenjaku to get a second chance at life.

ANYWAY. SADLY i can't post Toji memes since i reached my pic limits.
let me know what you think:) i may make a part 2. feel free to also ask for my opinions about anything in the verse, lol. if you wanna see my fics check my ao3, i promise i don't write in the same braindead way i type. <33

Chapter 16 Part 1 Episode 1 Part 2
We start with a meeting between the eight dog warriors. Each representing their respective guild (well except Yasuyori). Some banter happens when Masashi wants to be called Shimbe instead. Tadatomo says if the enemy (MxOther) continues to be silence there's no way any "conversation" can happen to come up with a plan. If they could at least show an intention to attack us, we might be able to consider a response. Back to Hoover and Inari, the Utopia mobs are using time leap. Hoover uses his sacred artifact, He took out the file and handed some of its contents to Inari. Inari thrust his hand into the hole in the void and made a sign with his other hand. Then he grabbed a large number of talismans and took them out, writing the following on them: The true name of the opponent's "Sacred Treasure" is read out loud.

We get flashback narration of Inari’s past. He was once a Onmyouji who serves the establishment. One’s own true name is a curse and thus he hid it. We cut to the world web, as Tindalos and Enigma are searching for info on MxOther on behalf of Turing but they can’t find anything. Tindalos ask what about the people who made the app and are hiding information. Back to Inari, he reads aloud what the talisman says, it reads that the mobs are from Yoyogi academy. Hoover calls Inari “Inari the Fortune Teller” but Inari told him not to call him that and that he already retired. But him living a new life was only thanks to Hoover erasing his history from the app and that Inari should return the favor. Anyway Hoover has people he wants to meet and need Inari as his bodyguard.

We cut to MC, who return to the tunnel where they fought Azathoth and where Shino “died”. Arc called MC here and tells them sorry they couldn't make it to the showdown with the Rulemakers (I guess this is LW’s way to make up for not including Arc in the last two chapters). While Arc was away they discovered the next AR dungeon. And they found the remnants of that “Laboratory” where the first “game” took place. The teachers and staff at Fujimi Academy had the students fight and kill each other as players. The ones who orchestrated it are still alive today at the Tower.

Flashback to Mononobe explaining the origin of the game. The three who created the game are Solomon, MxOther, and the people of that “Laboratory”. How the clone kids were born in the lab and how they are half Solomon’s biologically. The purpose of this laboratory is to "create a sustainable system." and to give birth to "new life." One aspect of this is artificial immortality. This was a research project formerly conducted at Fujimi Academy in Chiyoda Ward. The "old game" created a small, closed environment where student battled each other using powers from other worlds. This game was considered a failure. With just one survivor (Arc) and the "old game" ended with the help of outside collaborators (Suzuka and her team). Arc is currently heading towards the Tower. But before that, Arc has arranged a meeting, then enters Hoover and Inari.

Oh dear… I'm sorry I made you cry. Hope you're feeling better now.
Are you Asian too? May I ask which country you're from?
I just finished reading your novel Unbreakable Ties. You're an amazing writer. Thank you so much for giving readers such an authentic, canon-based story. I love it, especially Chapter 2 when Sasuke came to see his brother’s body. That scene resonated with my headcanon, and I’m grateful you brought it to life. BTW I drew a sketch of that scene as a gift for you. I left out the headband because I didn’t want him to carry that identity anymore. He should be free from that burden in the afterlife. I also drew another piece of him with Kina’s cat in Chapter 4. I'm not very good at drawing, but I hope you'll like it.
The boy's life was devastating. I still remember the day I learned the truth about him, I couldn’t cry. I got physical symptoms instead (heart palpitations, insomnia, chest pain...etc.) for about a month. Felt too depressed to cry.
Yes, it's pure injustice. He hated himself to the extent that he accepted suffering without questioning and never once complained. That was his way of living… the path he chose was not an easy one. And yet, he died with a sense of relief and contentment. He had carried out such an intricate suicide plan for 8 years. In a strange way, I felt happy for him. He finally found peace in death, leaving behind all the pain and misery. The afterlife in Naruto seems like a better place for him than the cruel Shinobi world. No more killing, no more impossible choices.
People are mad at him because he chose to kill innocent people and left them no choice. He didn’t give Sasuke a choice either, he forced him down a path without his consent. They say he acted out of pure arrogance, that arrogance was his fatal flaw. That he had no right to play god and decide the fate of the entire clan on his own.
But I understand why he didn’t seek help from Sasuke or anyone else. The only person he could rely on (Shisui) was dead. As an introvert and a prodigy, he was always alone. He took all the burden upon himself so others wouldn't have to. He didn’t want Sasuke to be involved in those dirty things and got tainted by the darkness. But things could have turned out differently if only he had shared that burden with Sasuke. That’s the tragic part of his character. He was overprotective because he loved Sasuke too much to risk involving him. Sasuke was the only thing that anchored him to sanity after the massacre. Without Sasuke, he might have lost his mind completely and ended his life right away.
BTW I'm not sure if this has been discussed much in Western fandoms, but it's quite well-known in Chinese fandoms that Masashi Kishimoto has a twin brother, Seishi Kishimoto, whom he loves dearly. Sasuke was, in a way, created in Seishi’s likeness. Seishi is also a manga author. He's hardworking and talented, but lived in the shadow of his genius brother. People constantly compare him to Masashi, and that stressed him out. Sometimes I feel that the lines Itachi said to Sasuke (for example, encouraging Sasuke to surpass him) were actually directed at Seishi. Masashi seems to insert parts of himself into Itachi (and Naruto) to express his own feelings. Perhaps that’s why people feel so uneasy about Itachi, especially those who love or sympathize with Sasuke, or those who experience the story from Sasuke's POV. Masashi probably wasn’t allowed to do so before, but after his editor Kousuke Yahagi left the team, there was no one to stop him (lol).
Another interesting detail is that Seishi named one of his manga series Sukedachi 09, an abbreviation of Sasuke and Itachi. It's a subtle way of expressing brotherly love.
Maybe we can talk about the mythology aspect some other time. There’s a lot to unpack there, and it's definitely worth analyzing.
It's okay. I'm used to cry over Itachi.
Ahh, I'm sorry, I can't reveal my country here. It's to protect myself from some people who might use any information about me against me. I'll just we're neighbors, so.
Thank you for reading the fic. It's truly close to my heart. Apart from the fact that it was my official dive into writing for Naruto fandom, the fic really helped me explore and figure out many of my own feelings.
I'd only written for a small fandom where the readers could be counted on your fingers, so posting the fic was quite overwhelming.
And those pieces are lovely. Thank you so much for taking your time in drawing those. It means so much to me.
We've all had such reactions to his truth. Even if I saw it coming, the tragedy and intensity of it was shocking.
People keep getting mad at him for weird reasons. They think he killed innocent people and was okay with it. They neither understand the compulsion nor the fact that he wanted to be hated and killed for his actions. It's just, these people look at him through the black and white lenses of morality. And anything else doesn't make sense.
Itachi couldn't ask for anyone's help because he didn't think there was anyone he could rely on. Sasuke was too little. What was Itachi really supposed to do?
I don't really think anyone who sympathises with Sasuke or sees story from his perspective should be feeling uneasy with Itachi. They can't do it without looking like hypocrites. But that's not the part of the discussion right now, so I won't delve into it.
From what I know, Kishimoto said Naruto and Sasuke's relationship was inspired from his and his brother's relationship. That's all I've known.
Another interesting detail is that Seishi named one of his manga series Sukedachi 09, an abbreviation of Sasuke and Itachi. It's a subtle way of expressing brotherly love.
Wow, I didn't know this. It's interesting indeed. Thank you for sharing it. Though I wish I could find an interview about it, but maybe it's in Japanese or it's mentioned in the passing.
Sure. Naruto and its connection with Japanese mythology is an interesting thing to explore.

The second he hears your last name he’s on guard
I feel like you and Miyuki are really close, after all your parent took care of you both the most
I also think you’ve only recently become step-brothers, like end of Miyuki’s first year
But your parent helped look out for him even before they got with Miyuki’s dad
You were friends as kids and that’s how your parents met
Now that the backstory is out of the way, Miyuki is totally the first to know
He lives with Okumura and heard him mumbling your name in his sleep
The boy was literally just dreaming about having lunch with you, not that Miyuki knew that
As soon as he heard your name leave the younger catcher’s mouth he was out the door
He’s not super protective of you, and Okumura doesn’t seem like a bad guy
But he’s watching over you
Then you start visiting him pretty regularly, and you keep looking at Okumura
And then you come over to his room to help Okumura study, he’s honestly a bit over dramatic when you say you aren’t there for him
Mochi and Zono laugh at him when he asks for advice
So he calls Ryou and Tetsu, and they aren’t much help either
Apparently “what do you do when your roommate who hates you is in love with your step-brother” is a funny question
Ryou announces that no one is good enough for his little brother, and Tetsu points out that Masashi only thinks about baseball
Miyuki wants to help you two get together, but also as Captain and competition for Okumura he’s not really sure he should
On Okumura’s end, he doesn’t even realize
It’s Seto who notices and is left to suffer in silence because he knows Okumura wants to focus on baseball
But Okumura always asks you for help in class when he’s confused, and Seto has been abandoned when pairing up for projects and group work
He’s happy for his friend, but also it’s killing him
So he vents to Kaoru
Look, the whole team finds out you like each other before you two realize
Except Sawamura, and we’ll get back to him in a minute
It gets to the point the team can’t look at you two without smiling and giggling
And Okumura thinks these people like you, which makes him self conscious
It’s a mess
You have to confess, and Miyuki’s the one to push you to do it because it kind of starts affecting Okumura
It’s not his place to meddle in wolf boys life, but it’s basically his right to meddle in yours
If you don’t confess, because you two understand the importance of baseball, he tells Sawamura about the situation
He wasn’t expecting Sawamura to openly confront Okumura, which he really should have seen coming
But Sawamura actually manages to hype him up enough that he decides to tell you
After walking way from Sawamura all grumpy, the pitcher thinks he failed and is ready to go talk to you instead
But when he goes to find you he find you and Okumura having lunch together, practically pressed into each other's sides
He reports back to Miyuki, and by the end of lunch everyone knows you and Okumura are dating
I’m torn because on one hand I think Miyuki would give Okumura a shovel talk
But on the other I don’t think he would for two reasons
The first being he doesn’t want to ruin the tentative relationship they already have
Honestly Okumura is glad he doesn’t have to worry about Miyuki being petty if you two break up
The second is, it’s way funnier watching Okumura squirm as he anticipates it
Like, for a week straight, everytime Miyuki asks to talk to him he expects the “if you hurt him…” talk
But it’s always stuff like, thoughts on our pitchers? The batters we’re facing next?
And sometimes he actually gives Okumura advice about you, like your favorite snack

Almost halfway through reading Naruto for the first time at 28. Never really engaged with the story in manga or anime form before recently. Blown away by how good it is and understanding now of its continued popularity
Especially Masashi Kishimoto's continually improving art style. Fights were somewhat incomprehensible to watch panel-by-panel in the early chapters, throughout much of the Chūnin Exam Arc, but now they're a true joy to read. Kishimoto's lines are so clean and distinct since Part II of the story began as well. Not remembering off-hand what would've been in Weekly Shonen Jump around the 2006-2008 era (beyond One Piece, Bleach & KochiKame ofc), I'm sure this would've been a distinctive and dynamic looking story each week. My god those colour pages look great, one of the few manga I'd love to re-read a full-colour edition (the use of silence too, I've not seen it used so often and so effectively in a mainstream Shonen story)
A moment in Chapter 321 stood out as an example of why I'm enjoying the heroes/main characters of the story as much as I am. Kakashi is trying to entice Naruto into a further important ninja lore dump and our dumb boy Naruto doesn't want a bar of it. So the charming and guileful Kakashi slips into a coercion of his pal Yamato proving to Naruto that there's no getting around this. It's very simple and is mainly for the gag of Yamato buying the buttering up wholesale, but it speaks to who Kakashi is a senior ninja
There are other moments like the mostly silent panels of Sasuke as a child trudging to the family shrine after the Uchiha clan was killed, or Orochimaru & Kabuto's fascinating codependent situationship or even just in Chapter 320 the silent pages of Kurenai knowing her husband, Asuma, is heading into a dangerous situation
(Of course the female representation is woefully inadequate and it's disappointing to see Sakura grow so much just to be sidelined most of the story, as almost all the woman characters are)

I finally… I finally got my first bit of revenge for Itachi… it's like the disgrace of the Uchiha clan is being cleansed. Like I'm separating the Uchiha clan from the rotten ninja world. You might even say it's what Konoha always wanted. You always repudiated the Uchiha clan, so now we will disappear from your memories just like you always wanted. When I kill everyone in Konoha! By severing the bond, we will be purified! That will be the true revival of the Uchiha clan!

The Truth at Last Revealed

Fandom : Boruto
Characters : Boruto, Sarada, Mitsuki, Kawaki
I’m sorry for the mistakes, English is not my native language. I hope you like it.
Summary : It's all over, Boruto thought. He had fought Kawaki to the brink of death. He could not break through to him. He did not know how long their battle had lasted. It felt like days. Kawaki was in the same state as him, and he too did not want to give up. But Boruto had promised himself he would give him the beating he deserved and that he would make his brother see reason. Because despite everything, Kawaki was still his brother.
Disclaimer : Boruto belongs to Masashi Kishimoto and Mikio Ikemoto.
AO3 / FF.NET
Boruto looked at the ruined village that Konoha had become. Fatigued, he had barely managed to teleport beyond the Hokage statues. They were destroyed, but Naruto's statue, despite heavy damage, was still standing. He collapsed to the ground, drained both physically and mentally.
It's all over, he thought.
Boruto’s final blow sent Kawaki crashing into unconsciousness. But just before his eyes had closed, Boruto had seen Something. A glimmer he had not witnessed in years. And in that fleeting moment, he allowed himself to believe. To believe there was still hope. Hope of reuniting with his brother, of shaking hands, of grabbing a burger with their friends. Like before. He fled before anyone could arrive to arrest him. Before revealing himself, he needed to know if that glimmer in Kawaki’s eyes is still there.
Boruto felt like everything was spinning around him. His body gave way, and he collapsed backward, darkness swallowing him whole. Faintly, he thought he heard someone call his name. Sarada... The thought barely formed before unconsciousness claimed him.
******
Sarada guided her chakra through her hands, carefully mending Mitsuki’s wounds as he lay unconscious. The village lay in ruins, its people evacuated, yet the air was thick with the cries of the injured. She knew she was not as skilled in medical ninjutsu as her mother, but that would not stop her. She would do whatever it took to help.
For minutes now, something had felt different. The Otsutsukis, Code, Kawaki, Juubi… She no longer knew what to think. But one hope remained. Boruto. Wherever he was, she prayed he was safe. Beneath her hands, Mitsuki’s wounds closed, and slowly, his eyes fluttered open.
“Sarada.”
She helped him sit up.
“Do you know where Boruto is ?”
Why, she thought. Why all he could think about was protecting Kawaki from Boruto.
“Mitsuki, please...”
She stopped talking when he took her hand and squeezed it. She looked into his eyes and in them, she saw torment. A storm of emotions swirling beneath the surface. She had never seen him like this before.
“I feel like I've lived two lives,” he murmured, his voice unsteady. “One where Kawaki is my sun. It feels true. Logic tells me it's true. And in the other…”
His words faltered, and he swallowed hard. Sarada, sensing his turmoil, gently placed her other hand over his, a silent promise that he was not alone. And in that moment, she felt it. A glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel, where Boruto might finally reclaim his life.
“In the other, Boruto is my sun. When I think about it, everything seems to fall into place.”
Sarada threw herself into his arms, tears streaming down her face, tears of pure joy.
“He is. Boruto, he truly is your sun.”
Mitsuki embraced her, his arms wrapped tightly around her, desperate.
“Everything I did. I tried to kill him to protect Kawaki. I blame myself so much.”
“It wasn’t your fault. It's because of Omnipotence. Boruto knows that, and he doesn't blame you.”
“We have to find him.”
Sarada nodded and they broke their embrace. She helped Mitsuki to his feet. They were about to head back to the village when someone called out to them. Shikadai, accompanied by Inojin and Chocho, approached them.
“Are you going to look for Boruto ?” Shikadai asked.
Sarada and Mitsuki exchanged a glance. Were they still under the influence of Omnipotence ?
“Don't worry,” Chocho said. “Shikadai explained that Boruto was our ally and that our memories had been altered.”
All eyes turned to Shikadai, who scratched the back of his head with a bored expression. Yet, his friends could sense the confusion behind it.
“We all remember living two lives,” he explained. “One with Boruto Otsutsuki, which feels real to us, and another with Boruto Uzumaki. We just need to think logically and analyze the behavior of Boruto and Kawaki to figure out which memories are true. But I still haven’t worked out what caused this.”
“I’ll explain everything later,” Sarada said. “First, we need to find Boruto.”
They headed toward the village and split up. Team 10 going one way, Mitsuki and Sarada the other. Along the way, they found Kawaki, unconscious. They alerted Team 10 and resumed their search. As they approached the Hokage statues, Sarada spotted a figure perched atop Naruto’s statue in the distance. Her heart raced.
“Boruto!” she shouted.
Without hesitation, she took off at full speed.
******
Boruto opened his eyes as sunlight streamed through the window, momentarily blinding him. He found himself lying in a bed, disoriented and trying to piece together what had happened. His thoughts immediately turned to Kawaki. Had someone found him ? Was he safe ? And perhaps most puzzling of all, why was Boruto in a bed and not in a prison cell ?
He glanced around the room, which resembled one of the academy classrooms. Sarada was fast asleep in a chair beside his bed, while Mitsuki sat silently by the window, watching him with a thoughtful expression. At the very least, Boruto could sense that Mitsuki harbored no murderous intent toward him.
“Hi Mitsuki,” Boruto said in a hoarse voice.
Mitsuki’s gaze softened, a mixture of sorrow and relief reflected in his eyes. He rose from his seat and approached Boruto who struggled to sit up.
“I... I’m so sorry,” Mitsuki said, his voice trembling. “You’re my sun. I know it, I feel it.”
Mitsuki clutched his shirt over his heart, and Boruto could see the pain etched in his expression. Though Mitsuki was no longer under the influence of Omnipotence, the weight of what had transpired remained heavy.
“I wanted to kill you...” Mitsuki muttered.
“I never held it against you,” Boruto reassured him. “And I’m happy to have my friend back.”
A broad smile illuminated Mitsuki’s face. They both suddenly noticed the sound of soft sniffles coming from Sarada’s direction. Boruto chuckled and Mitsuki joined in.
“You’re too sensitive, Captain,” Boruto teased.
Sarada shot him a sharp glare.
“I just had to sneeze !” She retorted.
Boruto erupted into even louder laughter, only to be called an idiot by Sarada, a title she extended to Mitsuki as well. And in that moment, with Mitsuki and Sarada by his side, it almost felt as if the nightmare of the past few years had never happened.
******
More than an hour had passed since Boruto had woken up. Sarada and Mitsuki had left the temporary hospital room while he underwent examinations. Several doctors had come to check on him. Sarada had explained that Mitsuki was not the only one who had regained his memories, it was the entire village. Boruto noticed that the medics did not quite know how to act around him. Some avoided his gaze, their hesitation palpable. Others muttered apologies or pretended nothing had happened. But Boruto was not concerned about them. All he wanted was to know how his sister and friends were doing. Were his parents here ? And Kawaki ? What had happened to him?
A few minutes after the doctors left, the door creaked open again. Boruto tensed, still haunted by the fear that someone might come to arrest him. But then he saw Sarada and Mitsuki walk in. They were not alone.
“Hima,” Boruto murmured.
Himawari looked at him with wide eyes brimming with sadness, regret, and joy.
“Ni-san.”
Tears streamed down her face as she flung herself into his arms. Boruto, startled at first, quickly wrapped his arms around her.
“I’m so sorry,” she sobbed. “I felt something was wrong, but I didn’t do anything.”
“It’s gonna be okay, Hima. I could never blame you.”
He tried to comfort her, just as he had when they were little and she was upset. Finally, he had his sister back.
“Your parents would like to see you too,” Mitsuki said.
“My parents ?” Boruto echoed.
Himawari let go of him, her face lighting up with a wide smile.
“They’re here, and they’re fine.”
Boruto shot to his feet and rushed to the door, completely disregarding the doctors’ advice to rest. He felt fine and all he wanted was to see his parents. He left the room, with Himawari and his friends following close behind. Guided by his sister, he made his way to the courtyard and pushed open the door. His parents were there. They had not aged a day, they were exactly as he remembered them.
Hinata was the first to notice him. She darted toward him and embraced him tightly. Boruto froze for a moment before hesitantly wrapping his arms around her. This was the moment he had been waiting for all these years. Though he had tried not to dwell on it, the longing had never disappeared.
Naruto approached and joined the embrace, holding both his wife and son close. Boruto did not know how long he stayed in their arms, fighting with all his strength to hold back his tears. The exhaustion, stress, and anxiety of the past few years, combined with the overwhelming joy and relief of the past few hours, threatened to spill over.
“There are others who want to see you,” Naruto said.
They walked toward the academy's exit, a route Boruto knew by heart. With each step, it felt as though he was traveling back in time. As they stepped outside, Boruto's eyes widened in surprise. All his friends and the villagers were gathered there, waiting for him. The crowd was silent at first, until Chocho broke it by calling out his name and clapping enthusiastically. Shikadai, Inojin, Denki, and Iwabe quickly joined in, and soon the entire crowd was clapping and cheering. For the first time in what felt like ages, Boruto felt truly at home.
******
Boruto stepped into the makeshift prison located in the basement of the movie theater, one of the few buildings still standing. Naruto had explained to him that Kawaki was being held there and despite the Hokage's relentless efforts, he had been unable to secure Kawaki’s release.
The guard cast an uneasy glance at Boruto, much like many villagers did, and unlocked the cell door. Boruto stepped inside, his eyes landing on Kawaki. He was sitting on the floor, staring blankly into space, his hands and feet bound in cuffs.
“You came to finish what you started,” Kawaki said.
“Stop it,” Boruto replied.
Boruto lowered himself to the floor, sitting opposite Kawaki. For a long moment, they stared at each other in silence. Boruto searched his face, trying to catch a glimpse of the spark he had seen in Kawaki’s eyes during their fight.
“Nanadaime came to see me. He doesn't blame me. Despite everything I’ve done.”
“Of course he doesn't blame you, idiot. We're a family and we stand by each other.”
Kawaki allowed a faint smile to cross his lips.
“And you ? Do you forgive me ?”
“You're my brother, of course I forgive you. Even if sometimes I have to knock some sense into you. We'll do everything we can to get you out of this.”
Boruto extended his arm, holding up his index and middle finger. The universal symbol of shinobi. A gesture of peace, marking the end of their conflict. Kawaki mirrored the motion, accepting the symbol and sealing their peace agreement with Boruto.
******
Boruto perched himself atop Naruto’s statue, gazing out at the village as it underwent reconstruction. The sight before him felt surreal, almost like a dream. For years, this had been his deepest desire. To return to the village, surrounded by his friends and family. He had fought relentlessly to save everyone, even when the odds were stacked against him.
Now, everything was finally over and he could begin to lead a normal life. He knew it would not be easy. Some villagers would still avoid meeting his gaze or feel uneasy for having once treated him like a criminal. But none of that mattered anymore because he was finally home.
The end

💮 リニの話 • Kazekage’s Rescue Arc 💮 . . . Rini sprinted through the forest, her heart pounding as she closed the distance. Sasori and Deidara had to be mid-battle by now, and as the fastest Akatsuki member, it was her job to back them up.
Something felt wrong. A creeping unease gnawed at her, growing stronger the closer she got. Then she felt it—the chakra signatures. Sasori’s was steady, but two others were weakened. A clear indicator of the obvious victory, right?
[ “I’m close...” ]
Reaching the cliffside, Rini skidded to a halt. Below her was chaos—a massive crater where their hideout had been. Her stomach twisted as her eyes locked on the battle below, Sasori surrounded by destruction, his core swapped to a different body, now running to cut down the two girls below.
“Die!!”
Time seemed to slow. The old woman’s hands moved in a final, desperate attempt to counter. Sasori surged ahead, unrelenting, even as two puppets closed in on him, swords gleaming in each hand.
Why wasn’t he dodging? Tunnel vision? No—this wasn’t like him at all...
He wasn’t ignoring the danger. He had no intention of avoiding it.
The realization hit her like a bolt— In that instant, her body moved on its own, instinct driving her forward. She didn’t have time for a jutsu, no time to think. All she could do was act, throwing herself between him and the swords, a desperate shield for the only part of him that truly mattered—his core.
SHWING
The sound of piercing flesh rang through the battlefield.
“What..?” Chiyo’s eyes widened.
The wounds that pierced the young woman were immediately engulfed in healing green lights where each sword pierced her delicate pale skin.
To heal all 4 wounds while being pierced... What incredible skill and chakra control! Chiyo’s thoughts were interrupted upon the young woman coughing up blood, looking up at her with fierce red eyes. The hatred burned bright.
“I’ll kill you...!”
The sealing technique was complete. This fuinjutsu closed all tenketsu while trapped within its center. Sasori wouldn’t be able to move since he only moved because of his chakra, but the girl, being human, could still do so if she were not so badly injured. Due to this, the girls own healing jutsu slowed until it died out, her own chakra now blocked.
【To be coninued...】
