Happy day three of Ace Week :)
10.23.24 ~ Wednesday
Happyyyyyy day three of Asexual Awareness week!! (I told you I'd be doing something every day for Ace week, hehe.) I found this adorable drawing on Pinterest as well as the last one-the best stuff is on there, I love it.
Gonna be honest, I don't really know what this post is going to be about, I just feel like blogging currently, so here we are. ;)
A quick book reading update: remember one of my last currently-reading post? (If you read it) Yeah...I didn't finish either of those books I said I was reading. I just wasn't getting very into them and was getting captivated by other books. SO! Those books are the ones we're talking about. ;)
Right now, I'm mainly reading The Martian by Andy Weir, which is one I did talk about in a past post and I did actually start it! I'm actually getting really into this one, we'll see if it lasts, though...But so far, it's pretty good and very interesting; it's feeding my inner science-nerd. (I was horrible at science in high school but always found it cool.)
Another few books I've been spending most of my time on are the series I talked about in my last post! The Baby-Sitters Club books! Every now and then I like to re-read them. I just finished the newest one for the first time: Kristy and the Walking Disaster. And now I'm currently re-reading Good-bye Stacey, Good-bye. The next ones I want to read are Mary Anne's Bad Luck Mystery for the spooky season vibes, hehe. The other one I have lined up is Stacey's Mistake! So basically the books I discussed in yesterday's post. ;)
Other books that I'm reading but kind of have on the back-burner right now are Me and Earl and the Dying Girl by Jesse Andrews, which I've talked about briefly in a past post. And of course, re-reading The Fault in Our Stars by John Green for the fourth time. This time, though, I'm annotating it! But these two haven't really been getting read by me recently, so: back-burner.
There you have yet another book-reading update from yours truly-because I really just love talking about books-and a HAPPY ACE WEEK!!
Don't forget to be kind to yourself, you lovely person!
Until the next one (probably tomorrow *wink wink*),
Thalia <3

Amateur detectives Stede and Ed accept a suspicious invitation from the Badmintons to stay at their newly acquired ranch in Arizona. But what promises to be a relaxing vacation of horseback riding and hiking turns out to be anything but. The night before they arrive, a strange glowing horse appeared at the ranch, followed immediately by one of their hosts being bitten by a rattlesnake and taken to the hospital. And more suspicious events keep happening, heralded by the appearance of the horse.
Could it be possible that this is infamous outlaw Dirk Valentine's horse, come back as some kind of harbinger of bad luck? Or is the horse merely a distraction, meant to clear people from the ranch so that someone can search for the treasure that Dirk Valentine is rumored to have hidden somewhere for his girlfriend, Frances Humber, whose father owned the ranch in the 1880s, and just so happened to be the sheriff? An AU based on the game Nancy Drew: The Secret of Shadow Ranch.

Class of Cartoons
Before anything, read the rules.
This isn’t much much of a serious AU, just a prompt that the Class of Villains AU (by @artzychic27 , @msweebyness and @imsparky2002) inspired me to do.
In this AU, all Miraculous Class characters are inspired by Cartoon Characters, who are there to learn how to control their unique powers.
(Also, small warning: Cartoon Characters that are animals, in this AU, would be anthropomorphic people, like in Ever After High).
Marinette Rox (Roxy/Winx Club): Marinette used to be the last fairy on Earth. After saving her people, she decided to learn how to be a True Fairy in Alfea, but, she suffered a lot of bullying, and decided to change Schools.
Adrien Butterfly (Star Butterfly): A prince from another dimension that is learning magic and how to interact with people (he would have paw cheekmarks).
Alya Noceda (The Owl House/Luz Noceda): A powerful Witch girl who is also training magic.
Nino Boonchoy (Anne Boonchoy/Amphibia): A boy that ended up on the school after opening a mysterious music box he was planning to use in a remix. It’s trying to get back home with the help of the magic trio (Mari, Adrien and Alya).
Chloe Flynn (Candance Flynn): A girl desperate to bust her technological genius half-sister to her mother.
Zoe Fletcher (Phineas and Ferb): A brilliant young girl who loves to invent.
Sabrina Zero (Penn Zero/Part-time hero): Daughter of a dimensional traveller, Sabrina is at the school to learn more about dimensional travel.
Mylene Universe (Steven Universe): Hybrid daughter of a diamond, human son of a rose, Mylene is there to learn how to use her gem powers.
Alix 10 (Ben 10): A girl with an alien watch wanting to learn how to become a hero.
Nathaniel Possible (Kim Possible): A superspy boy who is infiltrated at the school to learn about it.
Ivan Regular (Mordecai and Rigby from Regular Show): A Boy that comes from a weird Park where everything is possible.
Max Salazar (Generator Rex): A boy who is at the school to learn how to control his powers.
Kim Mertins (Adventure Time/Finn Mertins): He is the last human from where he comes from and is ready to become the strongest hero out there.
Juleka Waterson (Gumball Waterson): A cat-girl with incredible amount of bad luck who wants to put an end to this.
Rose Square Pants (SpongeBob): A half-sponge girl that was entrusted with the Krabby Patty formula. Is at school to learn how to cook such an important food.
Lila Dominator (Lord Dominator/Wander over Yonder): A chaotic alien who is in her path of becoming the biggest villain of the multiverse.
Kagami Ketchum (Ash Ketchum): An exchange student from the Anime School. Wants to be the very best, like no one ever was.

Dear, Mr. Mukami Ruki
I have sent this letter to you in regards to books. I would like to kindly ask if you have any book recommendations, I like reading older classical books. If you have anything that you think could peak my interest please respond to this. Thank you very much have a good night/day.
Sincerely, Amira
"A letter...? How peculiar. It's not often we receive those, lesser still addressed for me."
Throwing flashbacks of his mother's letter to the winds, Ruki's eyes peered over the contents of the message. Thankfully for him, the sender simply requested a list of book recommendations, classical tomes in particular. Already he thought of more than several titles to inform this mysterious Amira person about, evidenced by his reach for pen and parchment in a response letter.
"Very well, then. I'll answer this once—then I expect you to meet me in person since you already know where I live somehow if this letter successfully reached me. Us avid readers should discuss face-to-face, after all."
Dear Amira,
It must have been a stroke of good, or possibly bad luck that your letter has reached me intact. Since you know I can recommend you books that suit your tastes, I can assume we must know each other already in some way or form. Perhaps we attend school together, or maybe you've heard my name elsewhere through some enigmatic means. Nevertheless, from one reader to another, I shall name some classics you may enjoy. Keep in mind that the classics are a classic for a reason, and by writing me you shouldn't complain if I inform you of books you have already read since they are timeless for all.
The first book I'd like to recommend is The Master and Margarita by Mikhail Bulgakov. Without ruining the surprise for you, it's about a rather devilish individual who raises Hell in 1930's Moscow. If that type of story isn't to your liking then you ought to read Middlemarch by Mary Ann Evans, who went by the pen name George Eliot at the time. It's a much longer read than most, so I'm certain it will occupy much of your leisure.
Now, this next one is a bit of a fantastical book. One Hundred Years of Solitude by Gabriel García Márquez is just as the title would suggest. It's about a utopian city throughout the span of several generations showcasing its curious technological and social development given the town's isolation from outsiders. A more realistic historical fiction would be Nikolai Gogol's Dead Souls. The main character of this one undertakes a creative way of avoiding tax burden.
These final suggestions may not appeal to the average reader for their philosophical content, but I enjoy Foucault's texts. Start with Discipline and Punish first before moving onto his other, much more cumbersome works.
Out of consideration for my time, I do hope you read at least some of the ones I recommended to you. Once you finish, let's discuss them together and share our thoughts immediately. It won't take me long to track where this letter originated from and seek you out myself.
Until we meet,
Ruki Mukami
