Celebrating my 20 year anniversary (diaversary) with this beautiful home baked cake. 🎉💕 When I was first diagnosed with type 1 diabetes I did not think I could “do this” for a week. 20 years later, I am humbly grateful although somedays I still think I can not “do this” (at West End, Vancouver) https://www.instagram.com/p/B5N9_UFF57z/?igshid=1drhsr5k1uy9e

The Canal Murder by Evelyn Geisel It’s about an ex-cop Clair Burton who lost her job and her man. Forced to find new work, she opens her own detective agency and is soon knee-deep in the murder investigation of a young girl. I first read this book in 2006. It is beautifully written depicting a type 1 diabetic heroine who wears an insulin pump. #diabetesbooks #diabetesbookshelf (at West End, Vancouver) https://www.instagram.com/p/B4-pAtBFUEI/?igshid=1ezn0tlxcumps

Claude Monet’s Kitchen is #kitchengoals 💕 In my dream last night, I was having breakfast in Claude Monet’s kitchen with my grandma. It’s been years since I dreamt about grandma. I use to have those dreams often, when I needed advice, needed to work through a situation or when I was scared. Today is #worlddiabetesday, an important day dedicated to spreading awareness on a disease that effect 465 million people worldwide The theme for diabetes awareness month and World Diabetes Day 2019 is Family and Diabetes. Diabetes touches every member of the family not just the person living with it, I am blessed to have a supportive and patient family. Thanks, Sis, @elsbro for all the support and getting me to do a video. Once upon a time there was a girl who went to see a woman in a crisp white coat. Please help me said the girl, I need you to cure me. I have no cure for you, replied the woman, but I do have a portion that will help make you better. Be careful for too much of it is can kill you and too little of it is deadly. You will need to take just the right amount for you. See you in three months. #November14 is #WorldDiabetesDay (at Paris, France) https://www.instagram.com/p/B41NjUdFBNe/?igshid=txwxbm082zqu

I knew the very first time I wore a Continuous Glucose Monitor (CGM) that it was a game changer. A device that tells me what my blood sugar is all the time? Even when I am sleeping? I fell in love, however, inserting the G5 was a 10 to 15 minutes process for a needle phobic me. I will sit in silence and press the button slowly with shaking hands. I loved that I could restart the sensor avoiding an insertion for as long as I could and it also saved me money. G6 is - hold my breath, press a button kind of gal. 2seconds and it’s done ❤️. I ordered the G6 within 30mins of it becoming available in Canada. - 2 seconds insertion - No calibration or as my sister calls it “blood sacrifice to the Dex gods” - No adhesive allergies 😃 What’s not to love 💕 The only thing is I can’t restart the G6 sensor 😢 (at West End, Vancouver) https://www.instagram.com/p/B4sZb0kHOzF/?igshid=1ep9nn108sis6
