We have to understand very clearly that there’s a man in our community called a capitalist. Sometimes he’s black and sometimes he’s white.
But that man has to be driven out of our community, because anybody who comes into the community to make profit off the people by exploiting them can be defined as a capitalist

Theory/Practice
That is why it would be most mistaken merely to assimilate book knowledge about communism. No longer do our speeches and articles merely reiterate what used to be said about communism, because our speeches and articles are connected with our daily work in all fields. Without work and without struggle, book knowledge of communism obtained from communist pamphlets and works is absolutely worthless, for it would continue the old separation of theory and practice, the old rift which was the most pernicious feature of the old, bourgeois society.

Sharing Some Texts
Hi, everyone! Wanted to announce that I’ve a few texts scanned and uploaded onto Internet Archive.
It’s a mix. Soviet pamphlets from Progress Publishers, including some books. I’m going to continue uploading from whatever texts I find at my local bookstore.
If something isn’t popping up: give it some time. Up to an hour and a half to appear at least from my end.
Please enjoy and spread these.

Have you read Kropotkin? I’ve heard that his works are really interesting and that he was politically oriented towards libertarian socialism so yee :)
if so do you have any recommendations from his bibliography?
No I haven't unfortunately, but I do have resources I'd like to share anyway. Education and self improvement is the key to class consciousness, so sharing your knowledge with others is important. Please like and reog for more stuff.

Like I really do wish people remembered more about the Anti-Imperial struggles of Southern Africa in the late 20th century. As incomplete as their revolutions may have been, with the politically free nations succumbing to the overwhelming force of Western Imperialism and being taken over by neo-colonial comprador regimes, what they did manage to achieve was still so very impressive. A struggle for human dignity against the most openly cruel and brutish forms of colonialism, the mobilisation and education of the most impoverished and super-exploited people on the planet in the name of not only liberating their own people but with the understanding that they were advancing the interests of humanity as a whole. Nationalist in character and internationalist in spirit, seeking to build independent nations that could co-operate in solidarity with all the progressive minded peoples of the world. Introducing healthcare, education and fair exchange into the forgotten and exploited parts of their country, giving a purpose to millions who enthusiastically gave their lives to defend and advance their gains both material and psychological.
The MPLA in Angola, FRELIMO in Mozambique, the alliance of ZANU and ZAPU in Zimbabwe, SWAPO in Namibia and the ANC of South Africa. It's also worth remembering the PAIGC of Guinea-Bissau and Cape Verde who, despite their geographical separation, faced a common enemy and so forged deep bonds with their comrades to the south. Whatever their eventual fates after independence, triumphs and failures alike, the struggles they fought against the reactionary White Supremacist regimes of Portugal, Rhodesia and South Africa were nothing short of heroic. Despite vast differences in space and time, I think these struggles hold both inspiration and lessons for progressives peoples all over the world to this day. It's truly a great shame how much they've been forgotten, these conflicts only ever brought up as a footnote to something more well known rather than as an area of interest in their own right.
If you're curious, the Africa section of the Marxist Internet Archive has a lot of good material from the period that's a good place to start learning more, even if it is rather lacking in information from the latter portion of the struggle. ARG's Race to Power gives a good overview of the general situation in Southern Africa as of 1971, while LSM has some good general collection of material collected from Angola, Mozambique and Guinea-Bissau. The entire LSM "Life Histories from Revolution" series provides some really interesting first hand ground-level accounts of the conditions of life under Imperialism and the movements that formed to oppose it, while their Interviews with Liberation Movement Leaders provides the views of people higher up in the revolutionary movements. I'd recommend checking them out to at least broadly familiarise yourself with these tragically neglected struggles.

Hello everyone! Thank you for your patience. I've finally finished formatting and queuing up Friedrich Engels' Socialism: Utopian and Scientific.
For this reading, I based the text mostly off of the downloadable PDF of Socialism: Utopian and Scientific found on the Marxist Internet Archive. However, seeing as this version had several typos, and even missing sentences, I supplemented it with the PDF found on Archive.org.
The Marxist Internet Archive also has an annotated web version of the text, which I find to be quite an easy read. I highly recommend this version if you have the patience to sit down and read a large chunk of it at once.
I also did my best to annotate the text in this run, mostly with Wikipedia links to relevant historical figures or events, as well as a number of economics-related definitions as well. Requests for specific annotations to be included as the sections roll out are welcome.
Serialization will begin on this Friday, August 16th, 2024, with new updates on Tuesdays and Fridays. The formatted version of the text is 38 parts, which I expect will run until basically the end of December of this year. I plan on following this up with the appendix to Socialism: Utopian and Scientific, titled The Mark, which is about 7,000 words. However, my feelings might change, and we may end up reading something else. As always, recommendations for socialist, communist, and anarchist texts are welcome. Currently we have The Principles of Communism by Friedrich Engels and Blood in My Eye by George Jackson on our suggestions list.
Once again, thank you everyone for your patience; I can't wait to reread this with everybody.

This doesn't mean that there is no value at all in reforms. But it does mean that the benefits of reforms are fragile and can be reversed at any point because the fundamental power structures of class society are still the same.
You can earn as many rights as you want, as long as class society exists they are in the hands of the capitalist ruling class and can be taken away at any moment.
Read "Reform or Revolution" by Rosa Luxemburg for more on this topic. You can read it for free in the Marxists Internet Archive

Hi, I’m a 25 year old who just started my journey (truly) learning about communism.
I’m feeling overwhelmed with the amount of information and how little I know. I also suffer heavily with ADD and was wondering if you could recommend some entry level books which is easier to read? I’ve picked up a couple which had terminology I didn’t understand that left me frustrated and made this process seem a lot harder than necessary
The Communist Manifesto and Engels' Principles of Communism are very entry-level, and if you haven't read them yet you should.
I don't know what kind of terminology is tripping you up, but there's no shame in using dictionaries or Google to look up terms you don't understand. The Marxists Internet Archive (marxists.org) has a glossary of terms under their "Encyclopedia" page which can also be a useful research, although despite the site being a very comprehensive archive of works from all across the left, the editors (of the English site at least) have biases like anyone else and it often shows in the glossary. But as long as you keep in mind that the definitions they give are not always universal, that resource can be very helpful in deciphering Marxist terminology.
And as always, I thoroughly recommend finding reading groups and discussion groups to participate in when learning about communism. It is an entirely different experience reading theory as part of a group, and it will help with understanding and retention if you have people you can talk with about what you are reading.
