Very well said!
I'm confused, why is uncle Jagger a thing? I don't think he'd make a good parental figure and wasn't he the one to expose Marionette's wall of Adrian? I'm not trying to be mean I just wanna know how this became a thing? Marionette's parents are supporting and loving to her, how would Jagger be a better guardian for her?
Uncle Jagged became a thing since Guitar Villain, based on their interactions and how well they got along and were fond of each other. And there’s the aspect of Jagged being very encouraging and supportive, and he adores Marinette so much, its a fun headcanon that he deems himself her adopted uncle.
And at this moment, especially by the latest ep, yeah I’d think he’d be a better parental guardian than her own parents. Also in Troublemaker, he’s not the one that took the camera into her room and was filming it live for all of Paris to see.
So, onto Marinette parents. Yes, they do love her, but they also show a different sort of neglect when you really look at them. They’re very uninvolved and unconcerned.

So..MLB basically says.
Gabriel, Tomoe, Jagged Stone, Audrey and Andre are ALLLLL worthy of redemption and theyre actually NOT that bad despite one being an actual terrorist and the others being either overbearing to an abusive degree, neglectful and childish or verbally abuse.
BUT NO ITS FINE CUZ YOU KNOW WHOS THE WORST???
LILA AND CHLOE CUS THEY WERE MEAN TO THE MC. THESE 14 YEAR OLD LITTLE ASSHOLES ARE FAR WORSE THAN THE LITERAL ADULT DIRT BAGS SURROUNDING THEM.
Obviously Chloe and Lila are assholes and deserve repercussions for being bullies and treating others like shit, anyone with a brain can see that but to be so heinous and down right stupid to claim these kids are more fucked up than the actual adults who are fully aware of whats going on?? Whos been alive longer?? Seriously?? Make that make sense.
Why does Gabriel get to redeem himself after spending months terrorizing Paris, killing people, neglecting his son and even physically abusing him when he deems it fit?? Why does he get a pass?? Cuz his baby mom got sick doin shit she knows she shouldnt be doing?? Really??
Why does Audrey and Andre get to not see anyone call them out for how they made Chloe?? Why does Andre get to disown Chloe and start over with her nicer copy?? After making her into the spoiled brat she is cuz HE GAVE HER EVERYTHING SHE WANTED, HE COULDVE PUT HIS FOOT DOWN BUT HE DIDNT?? HES A GROWN MAN, and suddenly hes done?? Cuz he wanted to be some dumbass director?? Seriously?? Sir you made your daughter that way and allowed your shitty wife to talk down to her and destroy her self worth, you allowed your daughter to keep demanding things from people and never ONCE tried to speak up, and suddenly you wanna start over with a kid that isnt even yours??
Jagged Stone literally abandons his whole ass kids cuz "kids arent cool" and he KNEW WHERE THEY WERE, KNEW WHO THEY WERE, and likely wouldve NEVER told them unless Luka in his akumatized form actually found him cuz hes a fucking man child going through a midlife crisis
(also lol @ all the salt fics saying hed be there for Marinette more than her own parents. Mf wasnt even there for his own kids, bffr)
I cant really say much on Tomoe cuz we dont really get much on her besides little hints but giving how Kagami is and how she mentions she wasnt even allowed to draw shows that Tomoe is exactly like Gabriel and what do ya know..Kagamis also a senti monster. Its fucked up!
Why do these grown ass adults get passes but Lila and Chloe dont? Chloes apparently a little soulless monster and Lila?? Is a fucking sociopath pulling an Orphan with all these new identities?? What the fuck??
Also lets not forget, Felix tried to make Adrien lose his friends, mocked Adrien for being an abused kid, found out Adriens mother is in the basement and REFUSES TO TELL HIM?? He gave Gabriel all of the miraculous, and instead of helping his COUSIN, he helps this random girl hes now suddenly obsessed with?? What?? But no yeah FELIX deserves to be forgiven despite all of his actions also being just as selfish and terrible as Chloe and Lila but go the fuck off ig, but EVEN STILL HES NOT WORSE THAN GABRIEL

"Marinette doesn't have abusive parents, so her trauma is invalid" is honestly most braindead "double standard" in ML Fandom
Are people so foolish that they think trauma only comes from abusive parents and abusive family ? They should go watch the legend of Korra, where the heroin has good parents, but the end of season 3 and the season 4 did't hold back showing us that Korra still ended up traumatized from the hardships and fights that almost killed her and pushed her to her mental and physical limits.
If those ML braindead "fans" were less dumb , they would know that trauma comes from singular event that occurred in the past, and that the examples of such traumatic experiences or event go beyond parental abuse. For example : sexual assault, death of a spouse or child or a friend, accident, natural disaster or war, but also a distressing, repeated and prolonged harmfull experience like sexual or physical abuse, are all things that can give someone trauma
What Chloé did to Marinette was a form of mental and physical abuse, this is the very definition of what bullying can be.
I repeat : BULLYING IS A FORM OF ABUSE AND MANY PEOPLE IN REAL LIFE CAN BE TRAUMATIZED BY THIS !! AND MARINETTE WAS BULLIED FOR YEARS BY CHLOE !! AND SHE WAS ALSO SUBJECTED TO A REPEATED STRESSFULL AND HARMFULL EXPERIENCE IN THE FORM OF LILA TRYING TO RUIN HER REPUTATION AND RELATIONSHIPS WITH LIES !!
There was a lot of new about teenagers that commited suicide in my country because of school bullying, but judging by the parents' s reaction (including one saying she would never forgive those who pushed her daughter to suicide), most of those who commited suicide because of school bullying didn't come from abusive home or family.
Yet the bullying was brutal and hurtful enough to the point that the victims found no comfort in their families and preferred to put an end to their suffering. In the worst cases, victims of bullying don't even inform their parents about the bullying (many testimonies from the victims family confirmed that fact).
I have read and listened to testimonies of people who were victims of school bullying, and the problem was often that their parents just couldn't protect them when their children were at school and the parents at work.
No matter how much the parents would complain to the teachers, wherever they have gone directly to threaten the harassers and bullies, in many cases the bullies would continue their atrocities outside of the school, on social networks, or by going directly in front of the homes of their victims to insult them and tell them to go kill themselves, and since they are generally minors, the police rarely intervene (and often the parents of the harassers bullies are just as much trash as their children, the apple does not fall far from the apple tree they say)
And in cases where the victims manage to change school (which is unfortunately harder than it seems in France), the harassment and bullying starts again even in the new school, because unless the parents completely move out in another town, in the same city words spread by word of mouth and social networks, and when a victim tries to escape from their school abusers, the latter will not hesitate to encourage other bullies from other schools to take over and torment the victim that tries to escape from them (that's how fucked up some bullies are in the head).
In many of the testimonies I've read and listened to, the victims confirm that to the present day, they're either still affected by the bullying they went through, or needed a very long time before fully healing from this school trauma.
It doesn't matter that Marinette's parents are good loving and supportive parents, in the end they were powerless against the power Chloé was given by her father and which she used to manipulate even the teacher in her favor and into victim blaming Marinette. in the end, Tom and Sabine were never able to protect Marinette from bullying, and even though they are the exact opposite of abusive parents, the show showed us that they were not perfect, that they could be very passive even when their daugther is distressed and victim of terrible false accusations. Such passivity from people that you are supposed to look up for comfort and protection can only worsen the impact of the abusive you go through at bullies's hands.
For my part I was very lucky, my school took school bullying very seriously, so at the first sign of harassment against me, my parents (who are among among the greatest in the world in my humble opinion) pressured the principal so that it wouldn't happen again. As a result my teachers were on the lookout, and when I slapped a boy who spent his time making fun of me, I immediately informed my teacher who congratulated me outright and since then the boy and his friends no longer made fun of me. It also helped that my twin sister, who was in the same class as me, had a good reputation. Not all young victims of bullying are lucky enough to have had good teachers who don't blame the victims and who would be happy to punish the bullies or let the victims fight back.
Under's Chloé reign, Marinette's school adopted this terrible and horrifying habit of blaming the victims and let the bullies get away with their misdeeds.
And to those dear braindead fans I want to ask them ... have you forgotten about CHAT FREAKING BLANC ?!! About the fact that Marinette literally saw her beloved Paris destroyed, her beloved partner and friend lost to madness ? Have you forgotten that she saw HER OWN CORPSE TURN TO DUST ?!! AND DEAD PARISIANS TURNED INTO STONES LIKE PEOPLE WERE AFTER THE VOLCANIC ERUPTION THAT DESTROYED POMPEI ?!!
Are you telling me that such horrifying sights wouldn't have given you trauma had this happened to you in real life ?!!!

They're so gonna make Alya Maribugs main partner from S6 onwards & turn Adrichat into nothing but Marinettes littl boyfriend who's gonna take ova the Bakery.
The show's gonna chuck Adrien into the Dupain-Chengs kitchen now that the teams back so he can b her little house spouse hubby who will forever make her a sandwich and never ever ask for more.
There are 15 more full-time heros now on LBs team. Adrien is only gonna leave the kitchen again when Ladybug asks him to when they need his cataclysm.
That shit just makes too much sense oh my goooooooooooood
Tumblr media
I remember the time Wen I loved the idea of Adrien takin over the Bakery but at this point of the morality of Marinettes Story? ..lets not kid ourselves. Marinette Dupain-Cheng ended up standing for nothing but revenge porn feminism coated under a narrative that teaches bullied girls questionable leadership on other people's expenses the villains have to make up for by just... conveniently not doing the logical thing, & to hate everyone round them who doesn "treat them right".
If Adrien takes over the Bakery its just so he can be Marinettes stay-at-home hubby who takes care of the children, their home, her parents and will make her a sandwich for all eternity... It aint gonna happen for him, it's happening so she can be a #girlboss with her whipped malewife at her service an thats it...
Gosh abused children are watching this...

Bruh this series is aging like milk. Ugh. Someone needs to write a spite fic addressing this ASAP. I would love for Marinette to not only get angry, but to flip her switch and go ape shit. How can the teachers and administration be this stupid?!
But her parents is what gets me. This happened twice and they were quick to believe Lila in Ladybug. But they know that Chloe has been bullying Marinette as we've seen in Origins and they still choose to believe the girl with a bullying and lying pattern. Don't even get me started on the fact that Lila has already confessed to having a lying disease.
I know if my own parents pulled this not once -- but twice, that relationship is going to be in shambles.
What’s the point of Marinette getting beaten down and turned against by the people she trusts most if it’s not going cause some sort of change in her? It’s being treated as just another thing she has to overcome to then be happy she exposed the bullies but realistically being treated like that by pretty much everyone in your life would be pretty traumatic regardless of whether it gets “resolved”. What I’m saying is Marinette should be developing trust and intimacy issues with everyone regardless of if they’re friend or foe.

Along with finally airing the season 5 finale, Tfou released a version of the two last episodes commented by the writing team!! So, as I already did with the commented version of Evolution, here's an overview of what they said!! It’s quite long given that it was two episodes and they talked a lot so I will put the parts I think are the most interesting in bold!! Obligatory disclaimer, this is my own interpretation and translation so take everything with a grain of salt!
Tumblr media
At the beginning, the writers recall that the first episode of the season 5 finale, Conformation, starts with Adrien and Kagami supposedly arriving in London "like rock stars". However, it is actually just an illusion made from the scanned version of them and the two teens are actually being sequestered in London. At this moment, Thomas says "talk about good parenting" in English, which I think is very funny. The team explains that they were first put in regular apartments in the previous episode but are now in rooms without windows after both of them escaped. This is also done to protect them from what will happen, as Gabriel is about to put his plan of akumatising the entire world into action.
The writers say that Gabriel had been imagining his plan ever since Animaestro when he was seen signing contracts with Tsurugi, and has been putting it in place since the second episode of season 5 (Multiplication). They say that he also tested the first part of his plan, to put nightmares in everyone's heads, in a previous episode.
The rest is under the cut!
Talking about previous episodes, they then say that as was the case with the Risk - Strike back - Evolution - Multiplication - Destruction series of episodes (aka the longest day ever), the 5 last episodes of season 5 (Collusion - Revolution - Representation - Conformation - Recreation) go together and there is a direct continuation between them. (However, one of their rules as Miraculous writers is that these episodes can also be watched and understood independently.) Therefore, season 5 both starts and ends with a series of 5 episodes (quintologies as they call them).
They note that Marinette's nightmare at the beginning is reminiscent of the episode Weredad from season 3. At this point, we can see that Marinette starts to understand who the villain is although she's not fully conscious of it yet. Thomas says that you can read it in two different ways: if you don't take the previous episode into account, she's starting to intuitively link things together but if you did see Representation, you know that she knows who Monarch really is. (They say that to highlight the fact that even though this is the 4th episode of a quintology, all episodes can be understood on their own as mentioned before.)
They then talk more about Gabriel's plan. He gives everyone nightmares on the same day and we can see the different characters suffering because of that (for example, Marinette's mom who thinks Tom is overprotective). He will then offer a solution which a sort of relaxation application directly inspired by the different yoga apps people have on their phones nowadays. This app helps them relax, but also makes people addicted since their nightmares come back as soon as they don't use it anymore. They joke about the relevance of this in today's world with people being "addicted" to their phones or people in positions of power spreading poisons and then monetising the antidote, or the corruption of capitalism selling things we don't need or causing mental illnesses to make people addicted. They ironise that nooo they couldn't possibly be referring to all of that, not in a children's show!!
During the scene that leads to Adrien wearing the Alliance ring after being reticent to it, they say that they had a conflit when writing it as they had to find a way for Adrien to not become his superhero self, cataclysm the walls and go help his lady in Paris. The end result is that Adrien is reminded of the devastating effect of his power by the nightmare and would therefore do anything to avoid hurting people, and so he wears the ring. Mélanie says that he "could become Chat Blanc" and the others add that even though he does not remember and has never lived it, Chat Blanc still has an influence on his actions.
Thomas mentions that Plagg (who he calls "Plaggo" and "Plagounet", which are sort of funny and affectionate nicknames) doesn't show up on cameras, and Sébastien jokes that there could be kwamis around them as they're talking but we just can't see them. Speaking of Plagg, Sébastien jokingly calls Fred the "queen of cheese" as she's the one writing the cheese puns and mentions that there are way more cheese jokes in season 5 than there were before, which makes him think that she is getting retributed by cheese industries in exchange for writing them. Fred then replies that she's getting paid directly in cheese.
The writers say that while the episodes are often narratively dense with science fiction elements, Plagg allows them to add humour in the scene and keep a lighter atmosphere for small children (you know, when he shows his butt to the camera while Adrien is having an existential crisis).
Anyway moving on lol, the writers then say that they had actually planned since 2014/2015 that Chat Noir would not be there to defeat Hawkmoth as they wanted a very particular power fusion to happen (aka Marinette wielding both the ladybug and black cat miraculous and becoming Bug Noire).
Fred then talks about how ever since the start of the series, they have incorporated the symbolism of fairy tales with the sleeping princess and the knight coming to save her. However, they're switching the genders in Miraculous as Adrien is the princess and Marinette the knight (while Gabriel is the evil dragon). They add that they already explained this in a previous episode (in season 4) but they're showing it again now in Marinette's nightmare.
In the scene where we can see that Tikki ate all the croissants, they joke that she did well given everything that is going to happen afterwards. They also jokingly tell the kids watching that they shouldn't do like Marinette and hide in trash cans but eating bananas and croissants is ok (trust me it's funny when they say it). They add that if Fred is the cheese queen, Mélanie is like Tikki because she loves cakes and anything sweet.
We then see Nathalie's nightmare in which Gabriel successfully makes his wish, and therefore manages to accomplish his evil plan which Nathalie knows about. We can see that she's looking very bad and the writers again jokingly give recommendations to the children watching, here to not use a damaged peacock miraculous.
They then talk more about Natalie's past, in which she was a treasure hunter. They say that someone should let them show the fabulous story of Nathalie, Gabriel, Émilie, Audrey and André when they were younger. Indeed, they already wrote what happened in their youth as it is the origin story without which they couldn't have written Miraculous. When Natalie looks at the picture of her in her "Lara Croft outfit", as they call it, from when they were chasing the miraculous and found the peacock and butterfly ones, they jokingly ask what they were chasing and why and say that you have to watch the rest of season 5 to know (basically, they're strongly hinting at sentiadrien).
They say that Gabriel/Hawkmoth and Tsurugi have been allies for a very long time, but it has only been revealed rather recently in the show and we can see it now in a scene where they're plotting together and rising the tension.
In the following scene, we can see all the kids ready for the "miraculisation", except Mylène who is not wearing a ring because while she is not fully anti technology, she is more wary of it and vigilant of its excesses. They then focus on Ivan, who would also like to resist like her but for whom it is too hard. They add that he has "things stressing him out" but that we will only learn about them in later seasons 👀👀.
They take a moment to appreciate the "exceptional" direction and lighting done by Wilfried in the scene where Nathalie threatens Gabriel with a crossbow. Thomas also makes a reference to Citizen Kane but I've never watched it so idk what he meant by that sorry I'm uncultured haha. The writing team says that while they are the ones writing the scenes, they need a director to make the scenes look like what they imagined, and that it's not always easy.
In the next scene, we can see Ladybug looking around in Nathalie's room to find hints about where Adrien could be and finding her tablet with all the information about the miraculous, which makes Marinette realise that Nathalie was Monarch's accomplice right before they enter in the room. They joke about how OMG THEY NEVER COULD'VE GUESSED that Adrien's father was actually Monarch the whole time. We can see Ladybug recording a message for Chat Noir where she reveals his identity, but she never ends up actually sending it.
They talk about how this scene is a huge climax as it is rare to see Ladybug in the Agreste mansion. It had already happened in season 1 during the episode Simon Says where they already played on the dramatic irony of Hawkmoth being Gabriel (which people did not know at the time). This is the second time that Ladybug is in the mansion, while Marinette has been there before a few times (including the iconic pancake moment). While they talk about Simon Says, Fred looks really smug saying that they had planned everything since the beginning.
They say that the scene during which Nathalie gives Ladybug her phone with the pictures and videos of Émilie explaining all of Miraculous's backstory is beautiful, and that if we as viewers had this phone, we would know everything about it (👀👀👀). In addition, they mention that since this is the final episode of the arc, a lot of things happen to get all the final outcomes of the different relationship between characters.
When Gabriel shows the video of Ladybug and Chat Noir kidnapping Adrien and Kagami on everyone's Alliances, the writers explain that people are so disoriented and stressed that they'll believe anything we tell them. They are therefore receptive to any controversy presented to them, just like how people nowadays will engage in numerous sterile debates on social media.
We can then see Monarch using things he obtained in previous episodes: the cataclysm dust from his deteriorating hand and the magical charm Ladybug gave him. We can see that Gabriel had been planning everything from a very long time but that because of the cataclysm he suffered from, he has no choice but to carry it out now. Coincidentally, it is this very cataclysm that allows his to have Chat Noir's quantic signature and put his plan into action. They jokingly compare what he is doing to making a dog sniff a sock, but in a cyberquantic version.
The quantic signature allows the miraculised people to find Ladybug and Chat Noir, and the team says that when they were writing the scene where they detect Ladybug in Gabriel's mansion, they were all going omg omg omg trying to figure out how they were going to get away with it. They say that while Ladybug is trapped in the villain's lair, the writers trapped themselves with the story.
They once again give a shout out to Wilfried's direction when we can see Ladybug getting attacked from all sides by the miraculised people, notably because of the camera motions. They also acknowledge SAMG's amazing animation especially in the scenes including a lot of characters.
My unculturedness shows again when they say that Marinette hiding in a cupboard under the sink is a reference to Jurassic Park. The reference I do get however is when they say that Plagg not being able to shift through the door with his ring was the plot of Mr Pigeon 72.
The action then reaches a maximum as Monarch knows that Ladybug is hiding somewhere in his house, detransformed. We now get to THE moment they had been waiting for since the beginning: when Monarch discovers that Marinette is Ladybug and she transforms into the fabulous BUG NOIRE!!! They keep talking about how cool she is and that they left the best for last: the final fight with Monarch does not happen with Ladybug, nor with Chat Noir, nor with Chat Noir and Ladybug but with BUG NOIRE!!!!!
Fred says the season has a particular taste of closure, even though there is still a next part, and warns to hold on because the latter will hurt a lot 🥲🥲.
🐞🐞🐞
Now, onto the the second episode, Re-creation !! (Yeah the first 2k words before that were on Conformation alone. I am bad at summarising. 😭)
At the beginning of the episode, when we can see Lila laughing when she sees Alec having an akuma induced nightmare on TV, the writers say that it is because she has known who Monarch is for multiple episodes now. They mention that it is because she read something on people’s lips in Evolution (episode 501) which allowed her to discover things. She also stole a case from Tsurugi so she knows who Gabriel really is.
Then, they focus on the fight we "had all been waiting for", and Mélanie mentions that her favourite lucky charm is the piano crashing on Monarch. They say that while they have spent multiple hours finding intelligent and sophisticated lucky charms for years, this one is just simple and exhilarating.
They then talk about how the resistance is fighting against the miraculised people, and how this happens all over the world (in China, Rio, New York) and includes a LOT of different characters. This explains why it takes a long time to deliver the episodes and they joke about how they’re blowing up their budget. However, despite all the superheroes fighting all over the world, it is still not enough.
Indeed, the outcome doesn’t play out in the giant arena outside, but in the KITCHEN. They joke about how they waited long enough to finally get it and that the resolve should therefore happen there, and even nickname the episode a « kitchen-two-room episode » (the joke makes more sense in french since we define homes according to their number of rooms, not just bedrooms).
They say that in the fight between Bug Noire and Monarch, both are so evolved in mastering their powers that neither of them have limits (Monarch can use as many powers as he wants at once thanks to his rings, and Bug Noire can use as many lucky charms and cataclysms as she wants). They lovingly say that our little Marinette from season one has grown a lot 🥺. She’s now super badass (they kept talking about how cool she was) and has learned so much.
They add that the scene where Bug Noire uses her handcuffs lucky charm is a reference to Kung Fu movies where characters fight while being chained to each other (once again, I’ve watched like zero movies so I’m gonna trust them on that lol). They once again mention the amazing direction and get very excited when Bug Noire slams Monarch through the wall.
During the fight scenes outside, they joke that Doorman (the USAmerican superhero whose power is to open doors) and Fang (a literal crocodile who knows Kung Fu) were essential in saving Paris. However, despite all the people fighting outside, the miraculised people remain too many and there is only one person who can save everyone from Monarch’s perfect plan.
Back in the Agreste mansion, Bug Noire is losing and her only escape is to cataclysm the floor which makes them land in the crypt (which was right under the mansion all along !!!). She then sees Emilie’s body and understand why Gabriel is doing all of this. When talking about his motive, the writers joke that if he succeeded, it would be hard to explain to Adrien why his mom, who has been dead for a year, is suddenly back and that while it would be unjust for Gabriel to trade her life for someone else’s, he doesn’t care and would just make Ladybug go away.
The team explains that in the following scenes, there is an alternance between the outside (in Paris) and inside (in the crypt) fights, with the dialogue happening inside continuing while we see what is happening outside on screen. They don’t do that often, which gives this scene all the more impact during the finale. They talk about how this kind of thing is a trademark of Miraculous: the episodes are quite dense despite their short length, thanks to the fact that the story continues when the action is taking place and the emotion continues to be conveyed. They oppose it to classical action movies where some scenes are dedicated to dialogue/story while fight scenes are just about fighting.
The writers say that from the moment Bug Noire gets her glue tube lucky charm, they are already working on the plot of season 6: when she manages to steal the butterfly miraculous from Monarch, she does not actually retrieve it because of how far away she is and it falls in the water below (cf Lila retrieving it which will be relevant in season 6).
At this moment, Gabriel loses and the resolution of the battle is not what we could’ve expected: we don’t have Ladybug winning by thrashing him, but she instead simply talks to him and even detransforms in front of him. It is not Ladybug who defeats Monarch but Marinette. This echoes to a message they have been trying to convey since the beginning : that in the end, it is not violence or strength that wins, but people talking to each other and opening up about their feelings. It is when people are not subject to their emotions, but instead try to understand them to think better and take the right decisions. And this is what Marinette is hoping for here by showing Gabriel the video of Émilie saying that she never wanted him to become evil, and instead just hoped for him to take care of Adrien (which he didn’t do lol).
In the end, Marinette and Gabriel’s main goals are the same : making Adrien happy. She takes a huge risk and detransforms to see how much he loves Adrien, or on the contrary how much he would rather bring his wife back. This is the only moment where we see Gabriel being truly emotional and understand why he has been doing all of that. Fred adds that he is a character who thinks love goes beyond good and evil, and oversteps every boundary, including moral ones. Therefore, Marinette is trying to solve a crisis of feelings by using feelings.
Back to the episode, we can see Marinette taking the biggest risk in her life and extending her hand to her nemesis, even the kwamis tell her that she’s insane. The writers joke that well, they were right, as Gabriel steals both miraculous and it does not end well (or at least not for now). Gabriel has now won as he can do what he has been wanting since the very beginning.
The team mentions that the next scene is one of the biggest reveals of the show, as we can finally see how the wish happens. We discover that the kwamis are not actually little plushies but take this appearance to avoid scaring their wielders, and the writers actually hinted to that in Dearest Family when Tikki ate all the galette des rois. One member of the team jokes that when the kwamis reveal themselves, they become a Swedish hit from the 70s : Gimmi (as a reference to Gimme ! Gimme ! Gimme ! by ABBA of course).
Moving on from the dad jokes, when Gabriel removes all of his miraculous rings, Marinette is released from the bee sting and can now witness her defeat. But the fact that Gabriel laid down his weapons shows that she has actually won, even though it is only shown and not said.
However, they say that there is still some doubt : we do not actually know what he wishes for as his words are cryptic and we only see the outcome of his wish. They do say that Émilie will not be brought back to life as Gabriel has finally mourned her death, which Adrien has already done for a long time. But Gabriel cannot live without her and decides to die with her.
In order to accomplish the wish, they explain that the world has to be destroyed and then re-created, which leads us to the aftermath of the wish a few weeks later and the pool party where everything seems to be going well. Then comes probably the most enigmatic shot of the episode with Nathalie and Amélie/Émilie. The writers say that they’re not telling us who it is but I think we can guess pretty easily based on what they said right before 😭😭. They also add that with Nathalie next to her we can guess what Gabriel’s wish was, but that it is "not what we think" and that there is a trick.
They say that with the final wish, they have arrived at the end of what they wanted to tell in this arc, which is a revolution of the minds. They said that each played their role, including the villain because he gave up on his power with which he could do anything to make his son happy. They add that the new world we are seeing shows the premise of season 6, which will have a "different taste" and in which they will talk about different things.
They say that at the end, some lies remain as Gabriel is presented as a hero. They say that Marinette gave Adrien the twin rings, in what frankly looks like a wedding proposal lol. Then they go insane because it’s time for LE BISOUUUU, and a real lovey kiss that they remember for once, not like in Oblivio, and not a desperate kiss like when Adrien left for London. However, even with all this cute romantic stuff, we can see some ominous butterflies flying around them…
In the next scene, we can see Marinette taking the miraculous that have been standardised and industrialised by Gabriel and putting them back in shape. The writers specify that this is a parabole about craftsmanship vs industrial production. The miraculous will now be adapted to every person, but we can’t see what they look like just yet! In this new world, the powers are all shared, among people who they trust and know will work for the common good. They joke that the "Avengers" shot at the end with all the heroes is something they’d been dreaming of.
In the last scene with Lila, they joke that it’s never really finished because there’s a bunch of epilogues one after the other. Thomas add that the school described at the end is how he thinks all schools should work!
And we’ve finally reached the end!! They don’t reveal anything in the scene where a weird flash appears in Lila’s room to keep the suspense, and just all scream going OMG WHAT’S HAPPENING!!!
🐞🐞🐞
I hope this was helpful to learn more about the writing team and some stories behind the episodes!! Don't hesitate to add stuff if you think I forgot something or ask questions if I wasn't completely clear :)).

Why I love Marinette Dupain Cheng
So, I just watched the London Special and I have feelings!!
I want to preface this by saying that I very much didn't resonate with the second half of season five for a lot of different reasons, but that the special really worked for me, gave me what I needed to get to a place to be excited about the potential of season six.
Marinette is a 14 year old superhero who is fundamentally a good person. She tries to do right by others, and when she realizes that she's done harm she genuinely tries to fix it. Now, her character is often portrayed as someone with ADHD. She is subject to tunnel vision, hyperfixating, anxiety spirals, and not always being great at taking other perspectives into account. She's never been good at anticipating how her actions and choices might hurt someone else.
And I LOVE that about her!!!
You know who else is not great about taking other people's perspectives? Fourteen year olds!! Developmentally, they're LEARNING THIS AT THIS AGE!! They're also LEARNING to make decisions and accept responsibility. And they are NOT good at it!! Take it from someone who works with fifteen years olds DAILY!! Even the most "good" well behaved teenager does and says thoughtless harmful things that hurt others sometimes in excruciating ways. And you ask them, "What were you thinking?" after it's blown up in their face and the answer is ALWAYS, "I don't know" OR "I wasn't thinking."
Developmentally, middle school is about fitting in. It is not easy for kids at this age to stand up for what is right, to make decisions that are healthy, to communicate in healthy ways. Marinette's whole character is about learning to do that! And to showcase that you have to show her making mistakes, sometimes even big ones, and learning to take responsibility for those choices.
Marinette salt hurts me so much because the salt seems to paint her at this malicious manipulative girl who wants to control Adrien and the world on whole. That she's malicious in the choices that she's made.
Meanwhile, the narrative is not framing her as in the right when she makes these choices. Kagami told her she disagreed in almost the first scene. Nathalie told her it was time to tell the truth. Throughout the whole special, it's obvious how much the choice she made is weighing on her, how much she's wondering if this was right. She seems to know on some level that it isn't.
THAT IS SO RELATABLE!!!
Have you ever lied to a friend or to your parents? And then, realized huh, I probably shouldn't have done that, but now you're in too deep and don't know how to take it back? Have you ever NOT told someone about a hard truth about themselves or about you because you didn't want to hurt their feelings, and then have to watch as they get hurt or rejected again and again because they just don't realize what the problem is??? Or confronted with someone around you who has lost a lot and just not sure at all what to do in the face of all that? And then to be given the choice to maybe ease the hurt of that loss with a lie? You think you WOULDN'T at least CONSIDER doing that for someone you love??
Do I think it will bite her in the butt? YES!! AND I AM HERE TO SEE IT!
Nathalie tells Marinette they should tell the truth. And Marinette's like, "but you'll go to jail." And Nathalie nods, accepting this. "But then Adrien will be alone." And Nathalie responds with "he'll have you."
DO YOU KNOW HOW TERRIFYING THAT WOULD BE TO HER??
If she does tell the truth, Adrien DOES lose Nathalie. That would hurt him too. Adrien DOES have to deal with the backlash of being Hawkmoth's son both inside his own head and with the world at large. And maybe in the long term, that would be the better choice. But how many of us choose what's better in the long term??? (THE ANSWER HERE IS ALMOST ZERO! I DON'T CARE HOW OLD YOU ARE!)
Bunnyx tells her there will consequences good and bad to every decision she makes. And what matters is how she faces the consequences. How she tries to take responsibility for them in the future.
Marinette is not trying to hurt Adrien here. She's not trying to manipulate or control him. It also doesn't mean she thinks what Gabriel did was right or that she condones his actions. It certainly doesn't mean she's okay with abuse. Everyone saying that she is has the benefit of the global perspective of knowing everything in the show! Marinette does NOT have that perspective.
Does that mean she isn't causing harm? No! She IS probably causing harm here. As so many of us do unintentionally, or sometimes even knowing that we're doing it because doing something else feels impossible to face in that moment.
And when the truth comes out, and I do think Gabriel's identity will come out (I'm less confident about the senti reveal, but that's more because they're literally not allowed to say the words), Adrien is going to have a LOT to work through. But the thing about Adrien, that all of his defenders seem to misunderstand, is that HE IS FORGIVING! If she explains it all to him, he will be angry and maybe hurt, but he is also going to be the first to understand. He's been the one right there next to her with a front row seat to all the pressures she had to face often completely on her own. I think she will be way more angry and hard on herself than he will be on her. That's kinda who his character is. He's NOT VENGEFUL.
This whole show from the beginning has been about characters making mistakes, sometimes learning from them, and being forgiven for them!! And it's the FORGIVENESS AND UNDERSTANDING given to each other after the fact that has brought the characters together time and time again. Watch origins and look at the class dynamic. Then watch guilt trip. The class has come together in a way they absolutely were not in the beginning! Because they have gotten to know each other and forgave each other. Watch Alya apologize to Marinette for telling Nino about still being the fox, and watch Marinette smile and say she knows what it feels like to need to share your secret with your best friend! Watch Ladybug ask Chat Noir if he understands the weight of a secret, and have him dryly agree that he is familiar with the feeling.
They are all flawed characters who make mistakes, who do things that hurt each other even when they're are trying SO HARD to do the opposite, and that's why I love them!!
I like characters making mistakes! I like there to be conflict in my stories.
And what I love about miraculous is that so far, the resolution to conflicts has always been one of listening to each other, and coming to a place of understanding and forgiveness.

My uncle is the best
An anon made this request and this was... different from my usual salt fics but... let's get to it! This is a MLB and Batman crossover!
Marc Anciel was a sweet and quiet guy; he was known for his talent in writing but also because he and Nathaniel work together to make their comic book. But something not many knew was that his mom has a brother… the billionaire himself: Bruce Wayne. Growing up, his mom has taken him with her to Gotham to visit him and his family.
Thanks to Bruce’s kids… Marc trains in different things and is ready for many things that could happen in Gotham… but when the akuma’s first began to appear it was like everything he knew was thrown out the window.
And since he was also akumatized it simple proved that his training won’t help in Paris. So instead, he began to teach his friends and classmates how to fight… the reason was because his class had a trip to Gotham and they wanted to be ready for it no matter what.
One day, Kagami told him that Marinette got kicked out of her class’s field trip which angered him a bit. As a result, those who could decided to not donate a dime of money while Nathaniel, Alix and Chloe dropped out of going on the trip… which was fine for the class since Chloe was a bully and Alix with Nathaniel decided to side with a bully like Marinette.
Marc had already asked his uncle Bruce who was more then happy to care for his friends during the trip… without knowing that Marc planned to play cupid between Mari and Damian. Once his friends all agreed and their parent’s signed the consent forms Bruce paid for their first-class tickets and forwards Marc a list of things for them to pack.
Marc knew that Bruce had already planned out their time in Gotham and he didn’t mind as long as he could take his friends around sometimes. Everyone is very excited about there trip to Gotham together… but none of them knew about the lies Lila was spinning… all about her boyfriend Damian Wayne and the entire Wayne family… making them agree to have their trip to Gotham.
When they land in Gotham, they are greeted by Alfred and Richard who helped them with there things before driving them to Wayne manor where they were given a tour before being allowed to unpack. Meanwhile in the Batcave… Bruce with Damian, Jason and Tim were researching Lila Rossi and all of the lies she has claimed so far… and they weren’t happy with her latest lies not one bit… the problem came when the four only came out late at night.
Marc was awake and knew about there secret but was angry at them for not being there to meet his friends “You all better be here tomorrow morning to greet them or else!” he said before stomping off to his room… they all knew that when Marc says ‘or else’ it’s serious and is not a good idea to ignore the warning at all… Jason learned that the hard way.
When morning comes, Marc is happy to find them walk into the kitchen to greet his friends (he’s VERY happy when he sees that Damian is distracted by Mari) after introductions Damian joins the group with Richard to show them around Gotham. Marc takes pictures when he sees Damian keeping close to Marinette the entire time, on the other hand back in Paris…
Caline’s class is for the first time ever WORKING HARD to earn the funds for there trip to Gotham (considering Chloe didn’t get her dad to donate like usual and Mari wasn’t organizing everything like usual) Lila was shocked at how bad things were going and started to regret making Mari her enemy in the end and started to wonder if she could become her friend. Marc is happy to find his friends having an amazing time in Gotham, it was very clear to him that Damian and Mari were getting close and it was possible they would be dating soon.
Mari and Alfred are teaching them recipes to the gang. Marc also noticed how a few times, Damian and Mari would slip away from the group to do things together… he never told on them and lied for them of course because why not? Besides… Damian had asked Marinette to be his girlfriend which made him so very happy so it was all worth it in the end since he made this happen.
Now they were enjoying there last week in Gotham, it was raining and so they were all watching movies when Mari got a text “It’s my mom” she said making them all look at her “What does she say?” Jason asked. Mari reads it and her eyes go wide “Miss Bustier came by to talk to me and remind me about my ‘rude behavior’ towards Lila… and as a result… I can’t go on their trip to Gotham” she said making all of their eyes go wide at her words.
“They are coming here?” Selina Bruce’s wife asked making Mari nod “My mom is panicking though. Turns out that while she told miss Bustier that I wasn’t home… she slipped up and told her I was in Gotham” she explained making them now have no idea on what to do. Bruce then takes Marinette’s phone and calls Sabine to calm her down and inform her that it was alright that she told her daughter’s teacher.
He claimed that he would resolve the whole thing… but Mari is used to getting in trouble for no good reason, this caused her to worry but Damian pulled her away to calm his girlfriend down “Trust my father. When he says he will take care of everything… he tells the truth” he said which calmed her down… at that moment Bruce walked away saying he had to make a few phone calls.
Marc being used to Bruce saying that excuse had an idea on what his uncle was planning but decided to keep quiet due to the fact that he enjoyed the results of Bruce’s actions in the end. Slowly they all went back to relaxing without Bruce for now and watched some movies, Marc also noticed how Titus moved to lay over Mari… it was clear he worried about her and wanted to show her some comfort right now and that made him smile.
He knew that even with the comfort everyone was giving her… she was still worried and nervous… because at the end of the day they knew that Lila was bound to lie at some point… and blame Mari for something not happening her way at all.
And they weren’t wrong at all… as it happened at Wayne tech…
The gang had just finished their tour of the building when they heard Mari’s name being called by an angry Alya. The girl was screaming at Mari about her vile she was to cancel their tour of Wayne tech and steal it from them when Lila had worked so hard to set it up… but Marc already knew it was a lie since there group was the only one with a scheduled tour which meant Lila lied about setting it up in the first place.
Just as Alya was about to attack Mari, Damian stepped in “You will not lay a finger on my girlfriend!” he said which shocked Alya with the rest of the class… while Lila looked pissed “Who the hell are you!? Do you even know who you’re saying your dating!?” Alya demanded making the class agree… but she was shocked when Damian pulled out his ID… revealing himself as Damian Wayne.
The same Damian Wayne Lila claimed she was dating…
“Now tell me what rights you had to try and harm my girlfriend!” he demanded which made Alya sputter… while Lila was panicking… she had already lied to the class that they wouldn’t be able to see Damian because he was in Africa helping those in need with his dad… then she pulled out the crocodile tears “How could you Marinette!! I tried to be your friend and this is how you repay me!!? By tricking my sweet Damibear to date you!?” she claimed which got her the desired reaction… the class quickly began to scream at Mari for her actions.
Just as Alya was about to say something… Bruce walked over looking angry, just as Lila was about to say something… Marc beats her to it and points at Lila “That’s her uncle! She’s the psycho liar who lies and bullies my friend Marinette!” he said which shocks Lila and the class.
But he was enjoying this…
In an instant, Bruce reveals each and every lie Lila has said in her entire life. Lila of course in a panic tries to cover it all up but Bruce doesn’t give her a chance by continuing to speak… and the entire class ignored her to listen to Bruce instead.
As a result, Caline is angry because now Lila won’t have a single friend while the class minus Adrien were shocked and confused about all of this… but then Alya became angry… at Marinette for not telling them but Adrien snapped “Are you deaf or just plain stupid Alya!? Marinette has been telling you all that Lila was lying from the start! But because in your words ‘she didn’t have proof’ none of you believed her!!” he screamed which shocked Alya. Just as she was about to say something, security comes and kicks the class minus Adrien out and were made to leave.
Adrien apologizes to Mari for not doing better… but sadly with his father threatening him he could barely do anything to help her. Bruce offered to help him and he accepted the offer, once they were all back in Paris… Caline and Damocles were fired, Lila was expelled and deported back to Italy, the class was questioned, forced to see therapists while being also punished by both the school’s new principal and their parents who were informed and the gang was transferred to Olga’s class where they were now very happy.
Adrien was now in his aunt Amélie’s custody but was allowed to stay in school in Paris instead of transferring to a school in London, in the end they were all happy… Marc was extremely happy because he had his friends and boyfriend with him… and Mari was now happy once more now.
He should have brought them to Gotham sooner…

Do you really hate when show like miraculous ladybug intentionally make the adult useless for no reason at all?
YES!!!
Cuz it makes no sense why no adult in that show isn't even attempting to help these kids more!
They do the absolute bare minimum every single time then act surprised when these children fail, (Master Fu, Gabriel, Tomoe, Audrey and Andre for prime example!!!)
They've failed these kids and the show refuses to call them out! It's always an excuse, Gabriel "loves his family" "Chloe is just evil/ Audrey is just the way she is" come ON.
These are grown adults, this show is a fucking mess and it mocks kids who are abused cuz it just shows then that if your parent acts like this, it's YOUR fault or They're doing their best!
And if that's not the lesson Thomas and whoever else has a SHITTY way of not showing that.
Sorry this turned into an entire rant, I hate how this show handles the shitty adults

Marinette Salt Prompt: The Shanghai Trip that Never Was.
In one timeline, Marinette was able to convince her parents to let her visit Shanghai.
However, in another timeline, one where her parents (or at least one of them) were more observant, Sabine but can't help but notice the slip up in Marinette's intent to go to Shanghai, even as Tom get's excited.
Tom: Oh this is so exciting!  Your mother and I have been waiting for this moment for -
Sabine: Tom dear? May you hold on for just a moment? (Turns to Marinette) I couldn't help but notice that when you were wanting to visit your "roots"... it seemed as though you were saying something else.
Marinette: W-What? N-noooooo.... I really was hoping to see him- I-I mean my roots! I ....
Sabine's face becomes more stern as the excitement from Tom's face seems to fade, the latter realising that something is amiss as the former's face shows dissapointment.
"Marinette dear... what could visiting Shanghai have to do with Adrien?"
With Sabine going into "no-nonsense mom" mode, Marinette couldn't hide her intentions from her parents forever. Sabine and Tom quickly found out Marinette's real reason for wanting to go to Shanghai: Not because of her roots, nor even wanting to visit her family. It's because Adrien was there.
Naturally, Sabine and Tom quickly shut down any idea of that happening. With Marinette having gotten distracted from delivering the package to the post office, along with their daughters rash and unjustifiable plan to travel all the way to another country for a boy, Sabine was quick to ground Marinette for her reckless behavior, as both parents showed disappointment to their daughter.
In fact, as Tom and Sabine would soon come to learn, their daughters infatuation with Adrien was far from healthy, as they would soon discover the planner Marinette had used to track Adrien during the process of taking away her technology. This resulted in another meeting soon after.
Sabine: I was fine with you having an interest in that boy until now, as its not uncommon for girls your age to have a crush on someone. But what I have found today is quite troublesome and quite frankly worrying. Considering you wanted to go all the way to another country for the sake of this boy, I have decided that this is going to end. Tomorrow, your father and I are taking you to a therapist, and we will be advising the school that you will be moving to a different class, if not a different school.
Marinette: B-But Mom, I-!
Sabine: But nothing! This behavior has been disgraceful, and I will not allow it to continue any further!
And so Marinette was grounded, forced to start going to a therapist and forced to move to a different class.
Though as Marinette would learn 3 weeks later, this was far from the worse thing to happen to her.
Though Adrien eventually returned, Marinette was forced to keep away from Adrien by her parents, lest they get the school or even Gabriel involved with her behavior. Worse still Hawkmoth had also made a reappearance with a new ability: the Prodigious, remade and corrupted to serve his own evil ends. As a result, the akuma battles became even more dangerous due to Hawkmoth's new ability to give them additional transformations.
So not only did Marinette lose the love of her life, her greatest enemy now had new powers. Luck just didn't seem to be on her side anymore...

I can't really comment on the Evil Marinette stuff, but the Evil Adrien trajectory unfortunately makes sense within the type of abuse apologia that the show devolved into during season 5.
The idea the showrunners are pushing, towards the end of s5, is that child abuse victims are irrational and volatile, and their emotions, if left unchecked, are inconvenient at best, and extremely dangerous at worst. This is why they need a big rational abuser to keep them under control.
Adrien and Chloé are the two sides of this coin. Chloé went out of control, became an evil dictator, and was ultimately "justly" punished by having her abusive mother drag her away and take complete control of her life. Adrien struggled with his potential to go out of control, realised that he's volatile and dangerous and Not Good Enough to deserve agency, so he "virtuously" handed away his role in his own story, became the completely passive Perfect Victim who only exists as an object to be convenient for other people or to pull their heartstrings or to suffer virtuously, and this is how he averted the disaster that TA insists would have happened if he had been allowed to play an active role in his own life. Adrien was then rewarded for his submission to PerfectVictimhood by getting a romantic partner who is controlling and objectifying very much like his abusive father was, except nicer about it on a shallow surface level. Marinette inherits Gabriel's mantle as Adrien's controller/owner/superior, because according to this ideology, he needs to have one.
(I guess the writers thought that they could make this extremely conservative scenario """progressive""" by simply gender-flipping it, instead of having to actually disassemble the problematics and develop something healthier. I don't... actually think this is a very healthy message to convey with Adrien, who is one of the most audience-relatable and especially abuse-victim-relatable characters in an allegedly uplifting show aimed at young girls...)
Anyway, since the showrunners have began to systematically push this rather horrifying ideology where child abuse victims inherently need to be controlled and restricted and emotionally manipulated into becoming compulsively convenient, or else their inner volatile bad nature gets out and ruins everything,
it makes perfect sense that they would write a world where Adrien not being abused by his father would result in Adrien turning into a violently dangerous supervillain.
...I wonder if the child psychology professional who was allegedly consulted for season 5 was an ABA supporter. It would explain a lot.
None of this explains why Badrien looks like he's been forced to dress Business Casual against his will even though he really wanted to be goth/punk, though. That would have only made sense if alt!Gabriel was still a horribly controlling parent.
https://www.tumblr.com/onlyvinegar/730713750547660800
YEAH NO BASICALLY???
The Alt!Adrien stuff doesn't make sense because it's /Adrien/. Canon!Adrien was able to move on from his mom's death in a mostly-healthy manner despite having the biggest cheesewheel of DICK for a dad. How was Alt!Adrien not able to do so despite having a Good Dad who would have been there for him and helped him move on?? Why is an Adrien who would have been taught good morals by his Heroic dad down to kill anyone who gets in his way??
The Alt!Mari stuff doesn't make sense either because of most of the things that Derision doesn't make sense for. And even with the retcons, Marinette /had friends/ and the Ladybug confidence boost shut down her fear of Chloé so why would Shadybug still have cared once she got her powers? Just gonna go 'this one person was mean to me so i get to commit mass murder'???
Not to mention bigger questions like
Why did Shadybug and Claw Noir get their Miraculous? In Canon LB and CN were chosen to fight Hawkmoth. Is Fu also evil in this universe and he just went 'you know what let's let some teenagers murder half the population instead of going to therapy!'? Even if he intended for them to be Heroes and they went rogue, why did he give them the Miraculous if there wasn't a villain??
Why are they going after the Butterfly Miraculous? Sure, it has some power. But Shadybug already has plenty of power to do whatever the hell she wants to get her revenge, and clearly the Butterfly can't help Claw Noir get his mom back or else Canon!Gabe would've used it to fix Emilie before the whole show even started!! At best it would make more sense for them to either not go after the Butterfly at all and have just Hesperia happens to be the Hero fighting them, or they should be focused on taking out each other while Hesperia is doing damage control.
"Marinette never met Alya"??? Despite Alt!Alya being in the special and a major player character and presumably dating Alt!Nino, she never met her???
Even if that WAS the case, Marinette meeting Alya and Mari getting her Miraculous happened the same damn day, so what happened in like a few hours to make Alt!Mari decide 'you know what? GOing full evil villain is a great idea actually!'.
How are we once again saying that the kids that commit murders are more redeemable than the kid who was just mean???? Like granted the kids are still more redeemable than Canon!Gabe but FUCK man????
And like. Re: the reasons for Shadynoir being evil: I am trying my best to not do the victim blame-y 'but these two handled it well so why can't you?' because I hate that shit. But when I am comparing them to themfuckingselves where they had VERY little changes between their worlds, and the changes that are bigger would be less likely to add to their mentality!!

Random idea I got inspired by your version of Marinette changing schools and Jerk in Sheep's clothing. By no means is an idea that I'm saying you should write or anything, just a fun little twist on a commonly used trope inspired by one of your fics.
To be clear, this involves Marinette, not Saltinette
Marinette changes schools, but not because she thinks her friends are toxic users who care about Lila more than her. Instead, It's simply because her parents are moving, like in that other sugar prompt I mentioned, or because she wanted to develop her designing skills and got accepted. She tells all her friends, and they congratulate her, and she promises to keep in touch.
However, at her new school, things go terribly wrong.
Her classmates call her a liar for her 'supposed' accomplishments. And they don't just go 'That seems a little farfetched and without proof I'm afraid we can't quite believe that', no, they go out of their way to mock and humiliate her for it. They also outright bully her, insulting her fashion choices, mocking her clumsiness and stuttering, and some even try to ruin her designs. Some of the more well-off and 'sophisticated' students (especially if this is some kind of fancy private school), even insult her for 'tainting' their school with her 'pathetic filthy Baker child feet'.
Also, or overall, a lot of them straight up just act like the salt fic versions of Bustier's class/the Miracuclass (I refuse to call them the Akuma class)
The teachers aren't much better. Whenever she gets hurt, for Ladybug reasons or otherwise, they don't believe it without a doctor's note. At first, she understands, afterall anyone could try to fake an injury to get out of work, but even when she's seriously and very visibly hurt or clearly sick, they just tell her to shut up and stop lying. They also insult her for her struggles to pay attention and clumsiness, berating her for it in front of the class, humiliating her. And not in a 'teacher genuinely trying to help a student to deal with something that hinders them as well as the class sometimes way, but in a 'Mean teacher who sees a student who struggles and is kind of anxious and nothing but a useless waste' kind of way.
It all gets to the point that it starts seriously taking a toll on Marinette's physical and mental health.
Marinette's friends find out and have a new mission: find a way to get Marinette out of that school ASAP!
Please write this into a real fanfic. This is a great way to point out the hypocrisy of salt logic that states that Alya and the class should just automatically assume Lila might be lying just because her stories are wild, plus maybe add in someone who mouths off that she’s lying and makes the whole class turn on her automatically without giving Marinette the benefit of the doubt mirroring what salters say should happen woth the Miracuclass and Marinette.

On one hand, Ive been saying ever since Kuro Neko that Marinette has a god and victim complex and thinks reality starts and ends with her which constantly leads to people ending up much worse for it (Adrichat in particular) and nothing significant getting fucking done because of how irrelevant Marinette herself is
So sure, you can bet your ass i feel validated by the "Ladybug will decide for the world what the truth is" development and how much worse everything is clearly about to get. In that sense, I'll sure have the time of my life now lol
But on the other hand, nah, I still never wanted this. I'll have my fun with it now that I'm proven right because of how awful the emotional journey was for me watching all this unfold. I wasn't even surprised by Kwamis Choice or the season 5 finale, that was imo obvious ever since season 4. At this point, I'll just enjoy it as a salty bitch. Fuck it, I earned that when I called these awful plot resolutions years ago and I only get further validated for what I "salted" on Marinette.
Or, wait. Is it even SALT when I continue to be proven right over and over again? Sounds like I'm reading it RIGHT while Marinette fans still go on disregarding 90% of the show and then call themselves FANS Lol
---
What a time for the fandom, when describing what happens in canon counts as salt. Every single time "non-salty" people describe the actual, canon episodes, they have to accompany it with constant refrains of “but Marinette is really stressed”, “but Marinette is in a really difficult spot”, “but Marinette isn’t the only one doing these things”, “but Marinette is too young to be in this situation” or my beloathed “but Marinette has good intentions”.
That's why I've decided to embrace the salt.
Here's a really salty take: if Marinette is so incapable of answering for her actions, then maybe she shouldn’t be taking on so many responsibilities to begin with. According to all these defenses of Marinette, these supposed good faith takes on her behavior, she is too incompetent or emotionally compromised to be expected to act in a moral way, too young to make sound decisions about anything, too paranoid or blinded by her own sense of moral superiority to take perspectives other than her own into account and too weak mentally to handle her boyfriend having emotional needs.
If Marinette really is this incompetent and incapable, maybe she shouldn’t be having everyone else lie to Adrien based on her judgment call. If she really is so mentally weak that she can’t handle the grieving and changing of his world view that her boyfriend needs to go through in order to live his life to the fullest (or as fullest as a remote control robot can get), maybe she should just leave that to the other people in the know. Kagami wants to tell Adrien the truth, let her. And let her deal with the aftermath, too. Meanwhile Marinette can just skip off to be worshiped by her parents, friends and ex boyfriend, now that he’s back in town.
Yeah, Marinette would be the most selfish girlfriend ever for just dumping Adrien until he stops being sad, but she’s being one regardless. The only thing different is that then Adrien would know and maybe he’d reconsider if such a one-sided relationship where he’s expected to give all the support while receiving none in return is what he really wants and needs. Maybe Adrien should know, not only what he is and who his dad really was, but who his girlfriend really is: someone too weak to be his partner not only for the better, but also the worse.

Miraculous question: So I noticed some people recently seem to have turned on Tom (Marinette's dad) because of the whole thing of him (possibly) being a self-insert of Astruc and Sabine (Marinette's mom) (possibly) being based on an ex-girlfriend of Astruc. What do you think of the matter?
From what I've heard, yes, Marinette is the oc daughter he made and her parents are based on him and his then girlfriend at the time, who I believe was French Chinese.
And chances are good that because she's a now ex-girlfriend, that could be why Sabine does get the treatment that she does. It is brow raising that Tom gets decent amount of attention why Sabine is just... removed. Like, she's really only there to show Marinette is half Chinese otherwise you could believe she's full European. And Sabine didn't really get her own ep until, what, s4? It's almost like there's a dislike/lack of care for this character who should be very important for our lead's life, yet we've gotten more of her father than her actual mother...
I can't say for sure it is that way, but I wouldn't be surprised.
Personally, I more salt Tom (and Sabine) for how they are as parents. For they're incredibly absent from Marinette's life, to a point of being neglectful:
Doing nothing about Marinette being bullied by Chloe. And it's not like Marinette doesn't tell them, she mentions her dread to Sabine about Chloe being in her class again and all she gets is a little chin rub. And it's been confirmed that Chloe has bullied Marinette for years. Why has nothing been done? Why haven't they taken Marinette out of that school and put her elsewhere? She doesn't need to stay in that school, we see in... Queen Wasp, that they were ready to drop everything and move to New York so Marinette can study under Audrey. So does that mean they think Marinette just needs to endure the bullying? That they don't care, that this is her struggle to deal with?
Bubbler reveals Sabine will invade Marinette's privacy as punishment.
Rogorcop, you got Tom putting down Marinette for riling up her classmates, when I'm with her on her want for fairness, cause Chloe is locking onto her and pinning a fault that's not her own onto her, and she just wants fairness, that everyone can be a suspect in this not just her.
Gamer shows a lack of respect for Marinette's boundaries, as she constantly has to tell them to get out of her room.
Animaestro, shows a lack of faith in Marinette's capability and will set her up to fail, specifically with the macarons. She wants to carry more than just one cookie, and they instead give her a tower that she has no way of carrying and of course it falls. It'd be one thing if the show had Marinette insist that she could, but they don't. And this gives the implication that it wasn't solely Chloe who put down Marinette's self-esteem in Origins.
And last I'll mention is Weredad, where Chat rejects Marinette and neither parent go up to check on her. Like, we know that Marinette's not actually crying or upset, but they don't. All they know is that their daughter ran up to her room upset, and neither of them think to go up and check on her. Sabine takes time to comfort Chat. And Tom just proceeds to lock Marinette up in a tower.
Great parenting guys.
And I think the final nail in the coffin for their issues as parents, is just the detail that Marinette will turn to Tikki for advise but we never see her turn to her own parents. Which gives a clear message that Marinette knows she can't turn to them for help and advise, she won't get anything from them.
Tom and Sabine probably are insert OCs, which is nothing new, Nathaniel and Marc both are both based off existing people, but that's not reason enough for me to salt on them. How they are as characters and parents, that I can salt on.
