Mareep, Flaaffy, Ampharos, top normal bottom shiny.
How to evolve: Mareep to Flaaffy level fifteen. Flaaffy to Ampharos level thirty..
Region: A region of eternal night as scientists created plants that could grow in moonlight, though there is some places that try to create artificial lights for the plants that couldn't grow in the moonlight. The moon still changing to different fullness percents with times there is no moon visible.
Region name: Lunar region.
Type: Steel.
Ability: Mareep: Heavy Metal. Flaaffy: Iron Barbs. Ampharos: Light Metal.
Description: These pokemon used to be mainly seen on farms with different roles depending on the evolution stage. However the first stage was the most popular with farmers for the money that can be made by their steel wool. These pokemon expanded into trainers using them to battle after a trainer who was born into a farmer family evolved his to use in battles, almost making it through all the gyms though couldn't make it through the final gym before giving up. These pokemon inspired a lot of people with their story of starting out as farm pokemon only to be seen in battles like other pokemon. Some have even made movies inspired by this though the movies tend to be about humans instead of the pokemon; usually depicting some humans as slaves despite that it is not historically accurate that any humans were ever slaves in this land. Despite this some movies have won awards for the stories told in the movies as if it is historical. These pokemon on the farms are always treated well by the humans who own the farm and no matter if they evolve farmers are known to still care for these pokemon. These pokemon were even featured in a magazine praising how well they tend to be taken care of, however managing to not become spoiled by the humans that care for them.
Mareep is often used in herds by farmers due to its wool always growing thus can be cut to sell. It's wool is mainly used to create steel dish scrubbers that are well known for getting hard to scrub off food parts. It does have an ability to shed its own wool if it gets too long, by rusting parts of it so it will fall off almost like it is shedding that part of its wool. Despite this if the wool is cut off before the pokemon rusts it then it doesn't rust until after many uses especially with water, to which it will fall apart. This pokemon is often seen in herds when owned by farmers. They were once featured in a magazine that praised how well they were taken care of, not to the point of being spoiled, as there has been no cases of farmers mistreating these pokemon in any way. In fact farmers would still care for one that evolves as much as they'd care for it previously. This pokemon is usually attributed to the start of its rise into the battle scene, despite that in stronger battles it is more often to see its evolutions. This started when a boy born to farmer parents grew a close bond with one of these pokemon, that boy then took it with him on his journey as his main fighting pokemon. It managed to fight with the boy and his team through the gyms, its winning streak only ending at the final gym that the boy couldn't beat before he gave up. It sparked other trainers into seeing the potential for this pokemon and its evolution line in battle scenes. Thus some farmers even began to start some breeding programs to help make dreams of trainers come true in using it on their team. Now even wild ones have been located in certain countryside areas for trainers to even track down to catch to use, so they don't just have to get one from someone else.
Flaaffy had a different role on farms. It tends to have a calming sense on herds of its previous evolution. So it would be able to hang out with the herds to remain relax especially when outside. Some farmers even had one nearby if one of its previous evolutions would get nervous about being trimmed. It likes to lounge and its steel wool doesn't grow as much as its previous evolution; though it can still rust parts of it off to shed if needed. Its wool however can do something that its previous evolution couldn't, it is able to make the steel wool sharp if it feels it needs to usually to a threat or in a battle. It's sharpened wool cannot be seen different to its softer normal wool by the naked eye, and thus unless a trainer knows this pokemon trusts them then they get hesitant touching the wool. Yet some how its previous evolution seems to be able to tell if this pokemon has sharpened its wool or not, often seeming spooked if one sharpens its wool which also tends to alert a farmer of potential danger nearby. It is a good fighter despite its tendency to like to be more relaxed and chill. Thus some trainers even use it in battle in order to surprise the other trainer if that trainer is unaware of the sharp wool. When its wool is trimmed it actually automatically changes to being sharp, thus is not ideal for metal dish scrubbers unless someone wants to cut their hands or slice up their gloves. Its sheds are brittle so if it is rusted off then it is safe to touch usually falling apart by simple touches. Farmers usually will have heavy duty gloves if they ever want to trim this pokemon to keep it from having to rust it off itself, some just let the pokemon rust it off itself so as to not have to worry about the sharp trimmings.
Ampharos on the farms would be the ones who would be sent out by farmers to check out potential danger to the herd. It is seen as more intimidating and powerful to warn off threats to the herd if one is spotted. Farmers are divided about its duties when the farmer is asleep. Half say that this pokemon should be left in the barn to patrol to keep the herd safe, while the other half says that the pokemon should sleep inside the farmers home to be ready to follow the farmer into potential danger if needed. The argument was never settled so each farmer just decide where this pokemon will be during the farmers sleep time. It is seen as a pokemon to be used in some stronger battles compared to its previous evolutions. It tends to have a fierce determination to win against an opponent, with it being believed that the opponent is a threat to its trainer in the eyes of this pokemon. Due to it being used to help warn off threats to the herd on farmland this pokemon will fiercely protect any that it sees as its herd including its trainers other pokemon. Some retired trainers even give this pokemon tasks to walk with their kids or grandkids if they are unable to accompany them. Since it is known that this pokemon won't let anything bad happen, however it is still preferred for an adult to be with a child when out and about. It is still seen walking with children for its trainer despite this, and some trainers if known well by the school are even invited on school trips to allow this pokemon to help protect the school children. It is mostly used in battles more than it is to protect children though.
Lore:
Mareep used to be seen as pokemon that just followed its herd in whatever was going on, this changed after the pokemon entered the battle scene as it became more respected by trainers thus wanted for battles. Some trainers at the start of it popping up in the battle scene thought that trainers only had one to get free unlimited dish scrubbers... Only to be proven wrong when the pokemon shows its battle capability. No one actually knows the true origin of the reason behind it having been started to be used by farmers, the true tale has been twisted and told with different details over the years with some families believing their own version over others. The main parts that remain the same was that it was a poor farmer who had trouble with pokemon eating his crops before meeting this pokemon. The story is different for how this pokemon was met by this poor farmer, some saying that it wandered onto the property through a broken fence then was caught eating the farmers crops before being taken pity on, others say that the poor farmer made up some traps with any materials he had then caught it in a trap to which its cuteness made him adopt it, and other versions of the story are out there.
Flaaffy when it first evolved, after some fought others in its herd mainly to show off to females, left the farmers who got one unsure what to do with it so it was left with the herd. Since its wool was discovered the hard way to be too sharp, and slow growing, to be able to use like its previous evolution. It was one day observed being watched by a spooked herd and the farmer found that it was looking at a wild pokemon. After the farmer praised it for saving his herd other farmers began to start using it to hang with herds to warn of danger. Its use on keeping the herd or individuals of the herd at ease tends to vary, some say that it started when one wandered into where a nervous member of the herd was getting trimmed which put that member more at ease, some say that it started when a farmer decided to let one stay in the trimming room to make sure no danger sneaks up then it being there helped a nervous member of the herd, and others like to say that a nervous member of the herd managed to flee to this pokemon then was a little more at ease for the trimming it escaped. The true story of how it came to be used to ease the herd by being nearby seems to have been lost to time.
Ampharos earned its place on farms very quickly and its story managed to remain the same over the years. One which was at its second stage evolution got brave in defending the herd from danger, only to evolve from its battles against threats to the herd to which it instantly found its place as the herd defender. After the boy gave up on his battling the gyms one of the gym leaders actually went to the boys family farm to get one of its base forms; to which the gym leader fully evolved it after even learning more about its final evolution job on a farm. This gym leader used this pokemon until the gym leaders passing and her pokemon was left to her grandchildren, thus a new gym leader took over the gym after that.
Design inspiration: Metal dish scrubbers, sheep in general especially when seen on farms, Helluva boss stripped horns for male imps (Please note that the Helluva Boss series contains adult themes and swearing), Hoopa rings, and bells on livestock like cows for the bell on Mareep.
Lunar region is a region that I have thought about making. I will be making more Pokémon and variants for this region.

My idea of a regional version of Mareep, except this time it's a Water type. The 'fur' is made out of bubbles.

Thank you @ShaunSmallest on Twitter for doing an incredible job at bringing this concept to life!
The line is a regional mountainous variant of Mareep, Flaafy, and Ampharos, cousins from across the sea!
Inspire by the Paiute tale ‘Na-gah becomes the North Star’ and the Cahuilla tale ‘Young Boys Climb the Mountain’
Still need to decide on their native and English names.

Wooloo & Dubwool
Wooloo (#830)
Oviselectrma oviselectrman crinitum
General Information: Wooloo the Sheep Pokémon, and one of the most common sights in the world. Their wool can grow back in three months, and it is so soft and cushiony that it allows them to handle falls, and to simply roll away from conflict.
Wooloos are about 2 feet (0.6 M) tall and weigh about 25 pounds (or about 12 kg).
Habitat: Wooloo have no true wild counterparts, and are instead a highly derived domesticated sub-species from the same common ancestor as Mareep—to be clear, they are not a Mareep, so much as they share the same common ancestor. They are found on farmsteads across the world. Should anyone see “wild” Wooloos, be aware that these are feral and likely invasive. Wooloos do not belong in the wild.
Mareep originate from Europe in the Lesser Caucuses, the Zagros Mountains, and the western Alborz region, but have since spread across the globe due to humanity’s globalization efforts. They are a common sight on farmsteads the world over.
Life Cycles: Wooloos are born as singles or twins, though some breeds may be able to produce more. They are born seasonally in the early spring. The baby Wooloos are cared for by their mother, where they can be artificially weaned at around four months old, or allowed to wean naturally closer to six or even seven months old. It depends on the farmer and their needs. Wooloo become independent from their mothers at around eight months old.
Mating occurs in the fall, when the rams of the flock will compete for dominance to determine who will mate with the ewes. In truth, these dominance battles occur year round, but most especially during the mating season. By and large, male Wooloos are not able to compete against the Dubwools in the flock, so they are incredibly unlikely to mate.
Behavior: Wooloo are friendly, conflict-averse Pokémon, and not terribly bright. They love laying about in fresh meadows, eating the grass, and basking in the sun. It’s completely true that they really will just roll away from conflict, and it’s a popular internet trend to watch the fluffy Wooloos rolling away.
Diet: Wooloos eat grasses, legumes, and forbs. They can fully sustain themselves on pasture grass, making them excellent self-sustaining livestock.
Conservation: Least Concern
Relationship with Humans: Wooloo are a domesticated Pokémon that descend from wild ancestors in the Mesopotamian region of the world. Humans have been domesticating sheep for about 11,000-13,000 years. The domestication process led to several distinct lineages of sheep Pokémon being bred into existence, most notably Wooloo and its nearest relative, Mareep. Through domestication, the Wooloo and Mareep lineages diverged from the Ancestral Sheep, for as farmers would adorn their Ancestral Sheep Pokémon with Everstones to keep them from evolving, there were some who selected these sheep for their wooliness and other attributes. Eventually, a new evolution line began to form from the early sheep, one that kept its wooliness upon evolution, and these sheep were bred to produce more of their kind, and even eventually losing their electric-typing in the process. In time, this selective breeding would produce the Wooloo lineage, which became distinct enough from the Mareep lineage that folks began to treat them as separate animals, though in truth, they remain the same “species,” just highly derived sub-species variants from each other. Wooloo are largely bred for their wool.
Many cultures choose to braid the wool of their Wooloos into fun patterns and shapes. It is often an activity done with children. Done with love, these braids are often made with interlacing flowers and ribbons. Farmers will still regularly adorn their Wooloos with Everstone bows, but perhaps not as frequently as they do for Mareeps.
There are many breeds of Wooloo.
Classification: Wooloos are in the same genus as the Mareep family, though had once been erroneously placed in their own genus by Linnaeus. Scientifically speaking, they are actually a highly derived domesticated sub-species of Mareep, but no one really cares except the nit-pickiest of nerds with nothing better to argue about.
Note to Players: Yes, this does mean that when doing your Breeding Success rolls between Wooloos and Mareep, you should use the same-species rates.
Tumblr media
Dubwool (#831)
Oviselectram magnacrinitum
General Information: Dubwool the Sheep Pokémon, and the evolved form of Wooloo. Unlike Wooloo, its wool is notoriously springy. The urban legend goes that should one make a carpet out of Dubwool’s wool, it would make something akin to a trampoline.
Dubwool are about 4’3 feet (1.3 M) tall and weigh about 94.8 pounds (43 kg).
Habitat: Dubwool are highly derived domesticated stock from the Ancestral Sheep Pokémon. While they are ancestrally from the Caspian region of Europe, they have no truly wild counterparts and do not belong outside of captivity. Should one see “wild” populations, they are actually ferals and likely invasive.
Life Cycles: Dubwools are bigger and more fearsome versions of Wooloos. The males in the flock will compete with each other for the female’s attentions and the right to breed with them. The breeding season occurs in the fall, the eggs are laid within the month, and the herd at large will protect the eggs from the weather and from predators. Because Dubwools are a purely domesticated species, they are dependent on human care and shelters provided for them. Their “survival instincts” are not as sharp as they were 11,000-13,000 years ago, shall we say, and the species as a whole is notoriously dim-witted and quite silly (by our standards) at times.
Dubwools live up to about 20 years.
Behavior: Dubwools are notoriously gentle Pokémon that only use their impressive horns to entice mates. The rams will compete in grand headbutting competitions with each other in order to establish social hierarchies. Otherwise, they’re exceedingly gentle animals even during “rut” (the male version of being “in heat”), which makes them relatively defenseless prey to opportunistic predators. They make great atrocious guardians, intimidating only the newest of juvenile predators. Instead, most flocks are watched over by more aggressive and protective sorts, such as an Ampharos. They will happily follow the lead of herding dogs like Yamper.
Dubwools are not known for their intelligence.
Diet: Dubwool eat grasses, legumes, and forbs.
Conservation: Least Concern
Relationship with Humans: Dubwool are prized Pokémon for their incredible wool, which may not be good for regular clothing, but is excellent for making elastics, special ropes, safety gear, and other odd things that humanity needs. Their sociability and self-sustaining nature make them excellent livestock.
As one of the most common Pokémon in the world, they are extremely common as starter Pokémon, especially in rural areas.
Classification: The species epithet of Dubwool, “magnacrinitum”, means “grand hairiness” or “grand fluffiness.”
Evolution: Dubwool evolves from Wooloo at level 24.

Another lovely art of one of my ship kids done by @xabi0407. This one is an Avery and Klara kid, his name is Bede, named as such because Avery and Klara are lazy and he "looks so much like him". Bede is a, contrast to his parents, quite respectable and calm person, rational and thoughtful to those around him. That is, until his sees his eternal rival Coline, Hop and Gloria's daughter. Then he enters a state quite similar to his parents, just obsessed with beating her, despite the fact that she is unaware of his hatred. He also possesses mild psychic powers of his own that allow him to sense the negative emotions of others. His partner Pokémon is a Mareep that he is convinced is a regional variant of Wooloo.

hi dandy ! a ship question : what pkmn does juno have ? have guzma and juno ever traded / gifted pkmn to each other ? what does guzma's pkmn think abt juno, and vice versa? dont feel pressured to answer all of these if u dont want to , just a bunch of questions out of interest ^^ - @dmclr
AWAUUHH HI CLARA !! thank u so much for the questions omg :O !!
i gotta put it under a cut because OUGH AUGH THE RAMBLER'S CURSE GOT ME,,, IT'S SO LONG IM SO SORRY OH MY GOD HELP FSDJKL
my s/i's main team is piplup (Henry), houndoom (Greer), psyduck (Huey), greavard (Grimsby), and a still unnamed chatot and banette (im slooowly playing through platinum so i'm waiting til i catch them in-game to decide on names), buuuut i might swap someone out of there because I've grown to really love my mareep named Mung Bean in pkmn sleep !! :3
I'VE NEVER RLY THOUGHT ABT THE SECOND QUESTION OMG.... guz would absolutely gift juno a wimpod at some point though,, I like to think they go hunt for wimpods sometimes as a shared interest activity :D guzma would also definitely gift juno a cutiefly early on maybe before they start dating because... how could he not HFSDJKL, he is fluent in bug-types and would want to flirt through bug-types hehe :3 also somewhat related, once he finds out about juno's interest in cataloguing the differences in plants in the different regions, he'd probably look into the alolan variants of pkmn (like vulpix and meowth and rattata etc) and then try to impress juno w his (newly acquired) knowledge JFSJKL
juno would absolutely eagerly help him fill out his bug collection with some sinnoh bug-types that alola doesn't have !! (i need to make a list of bug-types that each region has tbh...) they'd gift him some they had in their storage box, and then help him catch any others when they go to sinnoh together :D
ooh okay i have thought abt this third question a bit fdsjkl it's so fun thinking abt the different personalities of their pkmn :3
golisopod puts on a tough act for like. a day at most. and then immediately crumbles and is actually just a big ol' softie so he warms up to juno pretty much immediately fdsjkl. ariados doesn't like juno very much just because juno's a little afraid of him dsgjkl but eventually the two of them come to some sort of mutual understanding where they get along in a vaguely strained manner (guzma never rly understands why the two of them don't get along well and tries to facilitate some bonding moments that go disastrously sideways somehow every time LMAO). scizor is kind of stand-offish and unsure about juno but once juno hangs around for a while and he sees more of them, then he accepts them as one of the squad! pinsir is a little mean (he's just mischievous tbh) and likes messing with juno but they eventually catch onto his pranks and antics, and turns it back on him one day and that earns his respect LMAO. masquerain is just happy that there's more people in the house and gets along really well with Greer to everyone's surprise, so he's a happy camper :] (at some point i want to create a proper team list for guz and maybe come up w names for them hehe)
Henry is a shy but proud lil guy and doesn't really trust Guz at first but trusts Juno's judgement so he warms up to the big boss man soon enough (plus Guz works hard to get on Henry's good side considering Henry never goes into a pokeball so he's around almost all the time LOL). Greer HATES Guz at first 😭 it takes her a long time to tolerate him - she finally starts turning around on her opinion of him when he helps Juno through a flashback/panic attack that she couldn't calm them down from on her own. Huey is super chill, so there's no issues there fdsjkl, I think he'd get along especially well with the grunts tbh LOL they'd probably try giving him a painkiller one day just to see what would happen and he'd be forever indebted to them (Juno finds out later and loses their mind because painkillers aren't made for pokemon and they have to rush him to a pokecenter to get him checked over JFDSKL). and Grimsby loves everyone, if you give him any bit of attention he'll love you forever, so Guzma gets on his good side pretty much right off the bat :3
THANK YOU AGAIN AND I'M SO SORRY ABOUT THE NOVEL-LENGTH ANSWER OMFG 😭😭 these were just such good questions and I could not make my answers any shorter than this HDSGJKL

This is the second time I’ve speculated about Pachirisu’s typing :3 was it going to be Electric-Ice? Sinnoh really loved it’s Ice types! Snover and Abomasnow are, in my opinion, really iconic Pokémon of Sinnoh. They don’t showcase the introduction of variants like Shellos, or the new evolutions such as Togekiss and Roserade.
But the snowy parts of Sinnoh were very important! I don’t remember snow in any previous games. And there was a large part of the map dedicated to snow. Multiple routes, and an entire town!
Future games sometimes attempt to imitate the sincere biome, but they always feel cramped. Examples found in Kalos: the two icy towns, one of which seems very out of place at the same altitude and latitude as the desert; the other literally just a product of the ice gym producing so much coldness that the town froze.
I’m addition to Snover’s line, we also see a new Ice-type eevolution, Sneasel’s evolution Weavil, Snorunt’s evolution Froslass, and Piloswine’s evolution Mamoswine!
Sinnoh also featured several other distinct biomes. The swamp is very memorable! The coasts were highlighted by several port cities. And the center mountain range played an important role in the plot and the development of location-based variants.
The first most iconic biome is surely the mountain. It plays too critical of a role in the main storyline. The altitude introduced fog. The height difference among routes allowed for stunning visuals and novel route design. The swamp and coasts are tied, and come after the snowy lands. The swamp was a uniquely fun and treacherous biome, reminiscent of the Hoenn Desert with it’s biome-specific hazards and combination of the feel of an open-world area with a winding, labyrinthine pacing.
Many of Sinnoh’s new Pokémon are featured here, including Croagunk, Shellos, Krikitune, Buizel, Bibarel, Burmy, Cherubi, and Combee. Unlike the coastal towns, an appropriate focus is given to the swamps. The coasts of Sinnoh feel underwhelming, compared to the vast coastal region of Hoenn, and the expansion of Kanto coastal regions of the Sevii Islands. Compared to the ferry rides of other regions, Sinnoh’s coasts are not quite as memorable.
Thus! I think maybe Pachirisu was intended to be part Ice! It could have had a Pokédex entry such as, “It forwent hibernation in order to survive the endless snow of northern Sinnoh. It’s Ice-typing let’s it stay active in even the coldest temperatures.”
My only real argument is: it is white and blue! :0 Is that a bad argument? Maybe! Yellow is the most remembered color for Electric types, but plenty have been blue.
Magnemite (originally only Electric type) set the standard for including white/grey/blue tones in electric types. Chinchou’s blueness could be attributed to its water typing, though Plusle and Manectric firmly add blue to the electric color pallet. Pokémon such as Mareep, Flaffy, and Rotom exhibit the way blue is a common accent color. Shinx’s line firmly establishes blue as an electric color, more than any other Pokémon.
However, there’s hardly an ice type without blue. And there isn’t a single Ice-Electric type by then. You know they love added new pairings! And pairing it with a Pikachu-esque rodent/lagomorph? The squirrel a great choice! I mean, voles are an option… But those aren’t Pikachu-esque enough, yknow?
Anyways! It’s also white! That’s uncommon in electric types. Voltorb, Electrode, and Flaffy have important uses of the color white. But otherwise, the color is used more in Normal types, Ice types, and even Water types.
I’m just sayin. Imagine you are headed to the snowy city. You headbutt a tree. And a Pachirisu falls out! Hah. Adorable. It’s got moves like Discharge, Charm, Icy Wind, and Double Team. It can take out Flying, Ground, Water, Dragon, and Grass! It could feature in Double Battles with Helping Hand and Thunderbolt. Or, paired with a Pokémon with Rain Dance, it could have 100 accuracy with Thunder while still countering Ground, Grass, and Dragon due to the Ice typing.
:3 I had a lot of fun pondering over this! It was inspired by a color-swap I did with Pikachu and Pachirisu that made me realize it was rather wintery-themed for an Electric. :)

I have been figuring out how pokemon essentials works by recreating Kanto (I'm in the process for that, but the things left are the events and I can't do a lot of them if I want to do something different to the original story, as is the case), and I got the idea to choose pokemon at random and change the original story to fit the new pokedex, but if it was completely random I could end up with no starters or legendaries, so I decided to use the original kanto dex to create categories and put every pokemon after that in the one that fits it better. There are no problems classifying starters, mythicals, legendaries and pseudos, but the rest are more difficult. I decided some because it made sense, some because they had similar vibes and some because of a mix of both. The problem is that it's easy to forget a category and put one in other that fit's it less, so I'll show you my draft so you can judge me.
(I will add more pokemon than the ones that this says if it makes sense, like more ghosts so pokemon tower doesn't feel too monotone. The ones with a / between them go together, I will probably not add regional variants, and joltik is with the pikachus because I say so. Also, there aren't a lot a single stage evolutions in gen 1, so all of the ones that don't fit are in the closest thing because it's hard to match the number of evolutions and the types.)

Download 11/22/22
This will probably be the only update for a while. You can probably imagine why. I only finished up what I stopped doing while my Switch is charging. (I’d play it docked but my husband’s asleep right now.)
Download page
Story:
+Finished Ollie’s pre-marriage schedule. (I actually had it done during the last update, but I forgot to say it.)
+Finished Jayce’s pre-marriage schedule.
+Started on everybody’s post-marriage schedule. (They’ll all have the same morning and night schedule, so I finished those right after the other. The “night” schedule is just them sleeping.)
+Finished doing something with the spouses.
Glitches and oversight fixes:
-Souma asks for a Jigglypuff for his trade, except I forgot to replace the Pokemon that the game will look for in your party for trade. Instead of Jigglypuff, it was Mareep. I fixed that.
-I was 1 digit off when I was making it possible to get different Deerling forms depending on the season. I did it correctly this time so the different forms should actually come up, now.
Pokemon:
-I made the Luvdisc forms into actual forms, so they (should) all share the same National Dex number now. In their place I added some Pokemon. I know what doing so will do, but I don’t really care. Think of this as a bonus for playing the game before this build- If you already had any of the different color Luvdisc before this build, you now have different Pokemon. Much stronger, fully evolved Pokemon. Pokemon like,
-Ursaluna is now in the game, except it’s a regional variant. So now it’s only a normal type. It’s basically just a bigger Ursaring. But it’s much easier to get one- just give Ursaring a Moon Stone to evolve it into an Ursaluna. It still has the same ability options that it has in Legends.
-Basculegion is also now in the game as a variant. It’s only a water type now. You can evolve it by using a Water Stone.
I worked on these after Violet and Scarlet came out so I basically did the bare minimum (stats, abilities, etc) without making them act like they’re stone evolution Pokemon, so I might work on them more after I’m done with Violet.
There will be more Pokemon like this in the future. The only reason why I stopped here is because between the new game and the holidays I have no idea how long the next update will take.
Blog:
-Added Ursaluna and Basculegion to this and this page.
-Added the “Move sets and abilities” page to the directory.
Graphics:
-I made the double bed’s pillows exposed. There’s a reason for this.
-I recolored (with the hue slider) Basculin’s shiny sprites.
-I made the Luvdisc forms’ shinies either more or less saturated. The “lower” the shiny level is, (as far as the level of hearts go) the less saturated it is. So “gray” is the least saturated. “Red” doesn’t look very different aside from the white parts. (Like the cheeks and lips.) I did this in case you get a shiny Luvdisc during the Luvdisc festival so you can tell which one you have.
-I also made the red Luvdisc slightly less saturated so it’s not so... Well, saturated.
+I made all of the sprites needed for the spouse’s last thing on their schedule. (And then I implemented that last thing.)
Misc:
-I very slightly made the farm’s map bigger.
-I never really noticed this before, but I made everybody who got their first Pokemon from Unova choose Tepig. (Besides Esmaralda, who got Munna.) So I switched Ollie’s first to be Oshawott (I don’t believe that she ever talks about her Pokemon?) and Jayce’s to Snivy. (He mentioned Tepig at least once, but I changed that.) I chose to change those two and not Rebecca’s because she does actually battle with Tepig in one of her events.
-I also switched Jayce’s “second starter” to Kurusu since he and Ollie both chose Happa, and he’s more likely to care about balance. I didn’t switch anybody else’s since I chose Kurusu for most of them on purpose. (Their reasons mostly being “I can surf with this Pokemon,” since they live so close to the beach.)

Pokémon: Regional Variant Mareep Line
Here's an idea that's been percolating in my brain ever since regional variants were introduced: a Grass-type variant of the Mareep line, inspired by the Common Mullein plant that I frequently see around Colorado. This Mega Ampharos, to contrast the Dragon/Electric-type standard, is a Fairy/Grass-type.
I'm not particularly enthused by the Mareep and Flaaffy concepts, but the main genesis of this idea was replacing Ampharos' tail with the Mullein; I threw its pre-evolutions together more as a service to that idea than anything else.

Note
I dunno if this has already been asked, but what Pokemon are commonly found eaten...?
You got your fungal Pokemon, some species of paras and morelull are consumed, special edible variants that produce very tasty mushrooms, which you can pick without harming the Pokemon.
Tropius and snover fruit are commonly grown and sold, all can be harvested without harm to the Pokemon.
Then you got your fish, most commonly magikarp, basculin, and feebas, all relativly flavourful, easy to find, easy to breed in large numbers. Some folks have been known to eat carvanha and sharpedo, though it’s even more taboo than other species due to their fewer number, smaller egg clutches, and slower timescale to reproduce. It’s just not very viable as a business too I guess.
Krabby and Corpish all are consumed, I know coastal towns boast this option more, sometimes it is to help control population numbers to help keep the ecosystem in balance, other times it’s not. You can actually harvest the large claws they have and new ones will regrow, they naturally shed them in the wild roughly around may, so that one can technically be done with relativly low stress on the Pokemon.
I know the Kelp on Dhelmise is suppose to be quite delicious and rejuvenating, like a super food or something, but they’re not easy to keep, breed and harvest from, and can be territorial and temperamental.
Land Pokemon are a different thing. We got your typical ones, torchic, at an unevolved state, gives unfertilised eggs, with far paler green spots, of relative size to the Pokemon. They’re the eggs you get at the shops, they’re everywhere. Not only that, many areas farm torchic for meat. They’re easy to breed, big clutches of eggs, regularly, happy in large groups, not fussy to keep, cheap to raise.
You got tepig and spoink, both farmed, though tepig is said to be far superior quality, and usually ten times the price. Swinub is equally common I suppose, but more in mountainous regions.
Tauros are a tough meat, not often eaten, but milktank is quite frequently sold, most keep them for milk products, but some do choose to farm them for hides and meat. You got some eating stantler, some areas farm sawsbuck, others boffalant. If it’s cold regions will choose species with thicker hair, more tolerance to snow and wind.
Mareep and wooloo are known to be food Pokemon, but also wool, so there’s a lot of them out there.
I’ve seen Octillery and grapploct deep fried in many areas, even sushi with dangerous Quilfish in it. If I’m being real honest with you, if there’s a Pokemon out there, someone somewhere has tried to eat it. I would put money on that. I don’t know what it is about humans but we just gotta try to put stuff in our mouths. So here we are, eating tide pods, and Pokemon, and weird goo found in ancient tombs, amongst many, MANY other things. I hope this was....informative? Idk haha, enjoy

Ok so we have the three sisters Honey, Weiss, and Bronte Dubois. The three are originally from Hoenn, though they’ve all moved since reaching adulthood. They’re all in their mid 20s. {Content may update occasionally}
Tumblr media
First is the eldest sister. Stern and serious, Honey managed to complete her gym circuit (though defeated by the Hoenn champion) and had a successful run as a Pokémon Contest star, then settled into a career as a professor’s assistant and teacher at the region’s trainer school. Currently, Honey has settled into a job on @prof-peach ‘s Dōtaku Island, serving as a guard to prevent intrusion into the northern half of the island and to prevent poaching. Her team is as follows:
Janus - Girafarig (purebred). Honey’s partner pokemon. Brave nature. Is the leader of the team and unafraid of going toe to toe with much larger pokemon, favoring close combat unlike most members of his species. Very protective of children and small Pokémon. Keeps a chew toy for his tail. Big enough to ride on these days due to age and stored energy. Uses Crunch, Zen Headbutt, Return, and Thunderbolt. Has Inner Focus ability.
Plum - Crobat (Swoobat mix). Zubat!Plum was the first Pokémon Honey caught on her journey. Hasty nature. Enjoys racing more than fights, but in a battle is a high speed long-range nightmare. Swoobat ancestry results in a lighter color, some fluff, bigger wings and eyes, and a bigger focus on Sp. Attack moves and access to Psychic. Very cuddly and affectionate. Knows Hurricane, Leech Life, Sludge Bomb, and Psychic. Has Infiltrator ability.
Omen - Absol (mega). Contest winner and efficient battler. Impish nature. Met by chance while he was trying to warn people about an upcoming landslide despite being attacked by humans who didn’t understand. Asked to come along with her afterwards. Mega stone found by chance in mountains. Believed to have Mightyena ancestry, resulting in fur markings, bigger teeth and claws, and shaggier coat. Helps with classes that help break Pokemon myths and stereotypes. Knows Night Slash, Sword Dance, Shadow Claw, and Psycho Cut. Has Super Luck Ability.
Honeycrisp - Appletun (honeycrisp). Sweet old lady. Docile nature. Caught at an event held by farmers who raise apples and Applin line variants. Has a tendency to mother the other team members, even though 4/5 are twice her size or more. Honeycrisp variant results in slight color change and a sweeter aroma. Knows Apple Acid, Dragon Pulse, Recover, and High Horsepower. Has Ripen ability.
Glimmer - Sylveon (ruffled). Diva and contest superstar. Sassy nature. Raised from an Eevee and was VERY insistent on becoming a Sylveon. For some reason evolved to have ruffled ribbons instead of the standard. Knows Moonblast, Play Rough, Draining Kiss, and Mystical Fire. Has Cute Charm ability.
Lucky - Lapras (shiny). Last to join the team. Quirky nature. Found being stolen by poachers; quickly rescued and brought to local specialists for injuries. Ended up bonding w/ Honey during this time and decided to come along. Used to be a spokespokemon for Lapras conservation and anti-poaching. Knows Surf, Ice Beam, Body Slam, and Sing. Has Shell Armor ability.
Tumblr media
Weiss is the middle sister. She immediately fell in love with Ice types as a child and became a Type Specialist. Yes, she does dye her hair that color for the Aesthetic. Earned all her gym badges in Hoenn but decided against challenging the Elite Four/Champion. Despite her type preferences she’s a very warm and friendly person, and loves to travel, though she’s settled in Alola now. She’s currently petitioning for a position in the Island Challenge, though has settled for writing about her travels in the meantime. Her team is as follows:
Yuki-Onna: Froslass. Bronte’s partner Pokémon since a Snorunt. Quiet nature. While not a species variant, the patterns on her and her Snorunt form were circles instead of the usual shape. Holds many Contest ribbons. Knows Blizzard, Aurora Veil, Shadow Ball, and Hail.
Wave: Dewgong (Walrein variant). Caught during a seasonal migration during her Pokemon journey. Careful nature. Walrein ancestry results in bigger fins, larger tusks, and a fluffy ruff as well as a predisposition towards melee combat; as such, he prefers to fight rather than perform. Tends to act like the leader of team. Knows Dive, Iron Tail, Aqua Ring, and Drill Run.
Jumbo: Mamoswine. Caught as a Swinub. Bashful nature. Has always been a shy Pokémon, despite his massive size. However, no one should mistake that for a lack of power; he is the team’s main physical powerhouse. Often helps clear fallen trees and such. Knows Earthquake, Avalanche, Ice Fang, and Ancient Power. Has Oblivious ability.
Flurry: Ninetales (Alolan, Shiny). Caught as a Vulpix when Weiss first moved to Alola. Calm nature. Is rather vain and likes to be groomed. Prefers to never let opponents get close, specializing in long range combat. Knows Dazzling Gleam, Ice Beam, Extrasensory, and Hex. Has the Snow Warning ability.
Grace: Aurorus (caped). Acquired via wondertrade as an Amaura. Has a frill that extends down her back and smaller frills on the back of her front legs. Relaxed nature. Is a very zen Pokémon who is difficult to provoke and is very fond of naps. Knows Freeze-Dry, Ice Beam, Protect, and Flash Cannon. Has the Snow Warning ability.
Gloria: Frosmoth. Caught as a Snom while visiting Bronte in Galar. Bold nature. Is a social butterfly and likes to hang out with visitors. Took the longest to evolve, so occasionally forgets she isn’t a tiny Pokémon anymore. Knows Quiver Dance, Bug Buzz, Blizzard, and Hurricane. Has Ice Scales ability.
Tumblr media
Bronte is the youngest sister. High energy with a loud personality, it isn’t any wonder she ended up as an Electric Type Specialist and a big Pokémon Contest star. Ended up moving to the Galar region and settling in the city of Jouleburough, home of the minor circuit Electric type Gym. She worked her way up the ranks to eventually take over as Gym Leader, and now has her eyes set on getting onto the Gym Challenge circuit, famous for her “Electric Terrain” and “Speed Demon” double battle formations. Her team is as follows:
Zeus: Raichu (Alolan, purebred). Bronte’s partner Pokémon since he was a Pichu. Evolved while visiting Weiss in Alola, resulting in his variant evolution. Part of Bronte’s “Electric Terrain” Double Battle formation with Beacon the Ampharos. Knows Electric Terrain, Psychic, Electroball, and Volt Tackle. Has Surge Surfer ability.
Leo: Luxray (brindle). Found abandoned as a Luxio in a power plant. Adamant nature. Has a brindle coat rather than the standard. Part of the “Speed Demon” Double Battle formation with Zap the Boltund. Is fiercely protective of Bronte and the rest of the team. Knows Thunder Fang, Wild Charge, Crunch, and Fire Fang. Has Intimidate ability.
Beacon: Ampharos. Caught as a Mareep. Quiet nature. Part of the “Electric Terrain” Double Battle formation. When not in Gym battles likes to wander the woods outside Jouleburough and use her tail light to guide lost people back to the city. Knows Thunder, Power Gem, Zap Cannon, and Dragon Pulse. Has Static ability.
Zap: Boltund (purebred). Acquired via Wondertrade as a child, inspiring her interest in the Galar region. Jolly nature. Part of the “Speed Demon” Double Battle formation with Leo the Luxray. Pure of heart, dumb of ass. Knows Play Rough, Thunder Fang, Bulk Up, and Psychic Fang. Has Strong Jaw ability.
Joulie: Galvantula. Acquired as a Joltick. Rash nature. Believed to have Ariados ancestry due to purple striping on legs. Is overly friendly, loves cuddles a bit too much for her size, and acts impulsively. Knows Electroweb, Bug Buzz, Giga Drain, and Thunderbolt. Has Compound Eyes ability.
Reverb: Toxtricity (amped). Gifted as a Toxel for rising up the ranks at the Jouleburough Gym. Quirky nature. On the rare occasion Bronte battles somewhere capable of Dynamaxing, Reverb is the go-to choice and can Gigantimax. Is a bit of a jokester and loves hanging out with the kids who come to the gym. Knows Boomburst, Overdrive, Toxic, and Venoshock. Has the Punk Rock ability.
