With that, Javi began to increase his thrusts, his hips snapping forward, driving the air out of Marcus' lungs. All Marcus could do was tightly grip Javi's shoulders as the older man plunged himself into Marcus' hole over and over. Hitching Marcus' legs up a little more until his knees were level with Javi's shoulders, the older agent quickly found that sweet spot, and Marcus began to see stars.

As pleasure shot through him in shockwaves, Marcus' mouth found the soft flesh just above Javi's shoulder. Tucking his arms under Javi's to reach his back, Marcus dug his nails in as he bit down. Javi hissed but continued to pound into Marcus mercilessly. 

Choking out noises that sounded almost like sobs, Marcus carried on sucking and nipping at Javi's tender skin while his nails clawed at Javi's back. Javi bucked into him with a growl as Marcus writhed, wrapping his legs around the older man and sucking on his flesh harder. 

Javi's tempo was becoming more erratic now and Marcus took the opportunity to push against his thrusts, meeting him and causing the sound of smacking flesh to overtake the moans filling the bedroom. But Marcus couldn't hear anything over his own heartbeat and the static in his head. The tension building inside him was reaching its peak and his skin prickled with anticipation.

Arching his back, Marcus released Javi's shoulder to let out a strangled wail as he came. Falling over the edge, he let the waves take him as tremors rocked his body. Biting down again, Marcus could feel Javi's come flooding his ass as his own ecstasy shattered Javi's control. Finally, as the aftershocks subsided, Marcus fell back into the mattress, limp and boneless.

Above him, Javi sat up, chest heaving and glistening with sweat. Marcus' eyes were immediately drawn to the redden bruises on his shoulder. Pulling out his softening cock Javi flopped down onto the bed next to his young lover, a satisfied smile on his face.

"Not bad." Marcus heard him murmur. "You're finally starting to let go. Took you long enough."

“Uh huh.” Javi let out a snort, pulling Marcus into a sticky cuddle. “Well, then you can clean up while I rest. Not as young as I was and I’ve got a very needy boyfriend.”

Since we’re in Latino heritage month now I want to bring something up again that’s worth talking about when it comes to reader insert fic:

Can we as writers please be aware that latine people are present in fandom and not make the assumption that the reader does not speak Spanish?

Especially when writing for Latino characters, latine people look to them for representation and it feels very exclusionary to assume the reader doesn’t know Spanish. Latine representation is hugely important for us. Actors like Pedro Pascal, Oscar Isaac, Diego Luna, Gabriel Luna, and more are so important for that representation and they all understand that importance. With the lack of latine and poc characters, it’s always very meaningful when we are represented. And it’s very hurtful that people can assume that their audience is only white.

Some ways to work around and be inclusive: You could use italics to indicate Spanish, say “you didn’t hear” instead of “you didn’t understand” so that way it’s more open to interpretation, provide an immediate translation in or out of the context and let readers decide for themselves if they understood it or not. Very simple things make a huge difference in inclusivity and don’t change your story at all!

And another note too: please be respectful when writing Latino characters and actively work to avoid getting into fetishization territory. Be aware of harmful tropes and stereotypes that exist while writing Latino characters. I.e. the Latin lover trope, the whole papi thing, “spicy Latino” etc. The characters aren’t real but the impact it can have does affect real people and it can make latine people uncomfortable to see it in fic.

Remember that inclusivity is a kindness and people of all walks of life read fics to let’s work to make everyone feel welcome and loved and seen in our reader insert fic!

Today has been absolute hell.

My brother in law has passed away suddenly. The circumstances are still a little unclear atm but it does appear he passed in his sleep. So we are taking some comfort in that. But we’re all devastated. He was only 33.

My husband has lost his brother and my son has lost an uncle who absolutely adored him.

I will be taking a short break from writing for a few weeks at least whilst I support my family through this hard time.

I love and appreciate you all for your support and I will try to get some updates posted soon.

Pedro Boys and Their Favorite Wicked Songs

How many times will I listen to the Wicked soundtrack before the year is done? 😅 The musical theatre nerd in me can't help but think about what songs from Wicked each Pedro boy would like the most after seeing the movie (with or without being forced to go against their will LMAO) This is all just for fun, if you have a different suggestion, tell me who, and why!!!

No One Mourns the Wicked- Obyern Martell

Strikes me as a man who lives for a backstory. Very satisfied that he gets all the information he needs to enjoy the movie in the first 15 minutes. Deeply offended that everyone is so mean to Elphaba because she's green, and can't fathom disowning a child for that very reason. Develops a fat crush on everyone in the movie by the time it's over

The Wizard and I- Din Djarin

Loves the song because of how much it makes him think of Grogu. No one is rooting harder for Elphaba than Din because of how excited Grogu is to see another green friend, and how much Elphaba reminds him. He's so proud he is of his kid for all the challenges and obstacles he's overcome. Loses points only because he does have to chase Grogu down the aisles of the movie theatre when he sees the frogs at the beginning of the song.

What is This Feeling?- Javier Peña

Definitely did not come to see this movie by choice. Confused why the original characters from the Wizard of Oz are not in this movie. Also confused why Glinda and Elphaba have to sing an entire song about how they just can't share a room together. Will he admit that this song makes him think of him and Steve Murphy? Over his dead body. Will he quietly tap his foot through the entire song and be humming it to himself days later because it's just so fucking catchy? Absolutely.

Something Bad- Dave York

Though the movie was going to be a lot darker than it actually was because of the title. Humored by the idea of being a hired assassin to a goat so he can keep his voice. Has so much beef with the Wizard (sorry Dave York fans, I know nothing about this man)

Dancing Through Life- Agent Whiskey

Whiskey absolutely loves Fiyero. A carefree, reckless man who doesn't live by the rules AND can ride a horse? Sold, immediately. As soon as the movie is done, he's looking up where he can buy Fiyero boots to add to his collection. Names his next horse Fiyero. Learns the dance not for anyone else, but just for himself, because he thinks it 's cool. The only caveat is that he refuses to listen past the first 3 minutes of the song because Fiyero doesn't sing after that

Popular- Joel Miller

This is the only correct answer to this question. In a happy, blissful world where the outbreak never happens and Sarah is alive and well, you know for a fact she has been playing this soundtrack around the house for WEEKS. No, he doesn't want to go see Wicked (he's heard enough of the soundtrack to last him a lifetime), but he's not telling Sarah no when she asks if he wants to go. By the time Popular comes on, he's completely sucked in, and quite literally giggling throughout the song. There's not a day that goes by that she doesn't hold it over his head. Popular is one of his top 5 songs on Spotify wrapped next year.

I'm Not That Girl- Marcus Pike

While he'd probably rather see a play than a musical, he knows about Wicked and likes it enough to go see it on his own. Has listened to the soundtrack once a while ago, and has a general idea of the plot, but completely forgets about this song. Marcus Pike is literally the definition of not being that girl. Tries his best to keep from crying, but is sobbing by the end of the song. Definitely needs a while to recover after seeing the movie because of how much it made him feel things.

One Short Day- Javi G.

This song is nothing but fun and good vibes. No internal conflict, no turmoil, just two gal pals enjoying their journey to Oz. Very much a fan of the fun colors, can't stop laughing at the guys in the egg shaped suits in the fountain. Didn't know anything about Wicked before he bought tickets, but heard everyone was talking about it, and now he's seen it 7 times and dances around his house to the soundtrack on repeat.

Sentimental Man- Dieter Bravo

This is no one's favorite song. It's not Dieter's, either. But he wasn't paying attention enough to remember any of the names of the songs, so when someone asks him what his favorite is, he points at this one and shrugs, thinking it was Dancing Through Life. He's confused why everyone is so surprised by his response. He watches it 3 more times and still never picks up on it.

Defying Gravity- Frankie Morales

The lyrics to this song hit SO HARD for our sweet boy. "As someone told me lately, everyone deserves a chance to fly?" Do you know how loud he sings this song to himself if he's flying alone in a helicopter? The song truly makes him reflect on a lot of life choices for the better. Already loved the movie up until this point, but this is just the icing on top of the cake. Goes to see it again specifically for this song.

While we’re in Latino Heritage Month, let’s stop assuming your reader doesn’t know/speak Spanish in your reader insert fics. Especially if you’re writing for Pedro’s, Oscar’s or other Latino characters please.

EDIT: After some criticism of how this was originally phrased, let me change it into a question/request instead- Can we as writers please try to be more inclusive with our reader insert fics so poc and others can feel represented and see themselves too? Including taking out a quick throwaway line about reader not understanding Spanish. (Keeping the original phrasing above so anyone who missed the post to begin with can still see how I originally phrased it)

If you have a throwaway line of “he said in Spanish that you didn’t understand” or something similar, just take it out. Have something like “you didn’t hear” instead and let the reader interpret how they want. Or use italics to indicate Spanish. Or have the translation right there without mention of anyone translating for them. Simple. Or if you don’t want to/feel you cannot change it, then please have something in with your warnings so Latinos/poc can skip it if they choose.

And let me tell you why this is so frustrating (even for me as someone who is not a fluent speaker). It’s because Latinos look to these characters and actors for representation. We see ourselves in them. And when you clearly do not have a Latino person in mind when writing, you’re saying we don’t belong here. In a space where we should feel welcomed and celebrated. Representation matters. Inclusivity matters. Please try to be more inclusive with reader fics so we can all enjoy and immerse ourselves in your writing.

This is nothing new, poc have been asking for years now to be inclusive in fics and yet it’s still a battle. We’re not asking for a lot, and certainly not asking anyone to change their style or creativity or anything like that. Literally simple edits: take out the word “blush” don’t mention hair, don’t mention not understanding Spanish, not making reader blood related to a white character, etc. Literally tiny things that would not change the story at all but make a world of difference.

Here’s an example too: a few years ago it was not common for writers to label the gender of their reader as it was usually assumed the reader would be a woman. But, people advocated to label readers as f/m/gn/whatever to be more inclusive and asked writers to strive for gender neutral readers when possible so that more readers felt seen and welcome. Now it’s a common thing to do. Why is making the readers race ambiguous any different?

Yes sometimes posts like this come across harsh, but know that they’re not meant to be. Poc aren’t trying to demand anything, we just ask to broaden your langauge when writing reader insert so more can see themselves in your work. It’s incredibly frustrating to ask for inclusivity and be met with hostility and rudeness in return and a refusal to think about poc so yes sometimes the wording gets harsh out of that frustration. But I encourage y’all to focus on the message more and maybe think about why poc in fandom get snippy like this. We do need to have an open conversation, yes. Just look in the comments at the Latinos and poc who are upset by the exclusion and feel hurt by it. How you you white fans feel if roles were reversed and none of the fics included you? Not fun, right?

And to those who say write it yourself: I do. I’ve been a x reader writer for years now and I do strive for inclusivity in my work. But I’m only one person and this is bigger than any one person. This isn’t about what I personally find acceptable or what I personally what. It should be a collective effort among writers as a whole to strive to include as many as possible in their works and not white code your readers. It’s not about demanding writers write it a certain way, it’s about asking writers to consider others who don’t look like them who also want the immersion and the escape that your fic brings.
