The Ents' Marching Song - Clamavi De Profundis
We come, we come with roll of drum: ta-runda runda runda rom! We come, we come with horn and drum: ta-runa runa runa rom! To Isengard! Though Isengard be ringed and barred with doors of stone; Though Isengard be strong and hard, as cold as stone and bare as bone, We go, we go, we go to war, to hew the stone and break the door; For bole and bough are burning now, the furnace roars - we go to war! To land of gloom with tramp of doom, with roll of drum, we come, we come; To Isengard with doom we come! With doom we come, with doom we come!

I can only imagine the sheer delight Tolkien experienced writing the Treebeard chapter. He was able to pour his life-long love of trees into every word. You can sense it. It is so very tree-ish. It is not safe, but it is magical. It is very faerie. And this. This lament of Treebeard that this might be the last march of his people, that he was sad but not unhappy, was written by a man who had marched to war. A man who knew the cost but still believed there were things worth fighting for. That made him unique amongst his generation. Most men coming out of WW1 came out cynics. Tolkien did not. He came out knowing the horror, but believing there were things worth fighting for, worth standing up for, worth defending, and maybe worth your life.
There is simply too much beauty in this book, too much goodness, courage, hope, and rightness. I'm so thankful to live in a world where Tolkien once lived.

To Isengard! Though Isengard be ringed and barred with doors of stone;
Though Isengard be strong and hard, as cold as stone and bare as bone,
We go, we go, we go to war, to hew the stone and break the door;
For bole and bough are burning now, the furnace roars – we go to war!
To land of gloom with tramp of doom, with roll of drum, we come, we come;
To Isengard with doom we come!
With doom we come, with doom we come!

in all seriousness the last march of the ents & the whole ending of the two towers is like. truly in my top 5 cinema moments. it's about the love it's hope it's taking grief and not letting in drown you it's trust in other people like the last 15-30 minutes of the movie are what lord of the rings is all about return of the king is the conclusion of love and hope but the two towers is to have these even at the lowest, hardest point in the journey. this sequence is truly the best this franchise has to offer
