ALBERT BLITHE - Lieutenant... sir, when I landed on D-Day, I found myself in a ditch all by myself. I fell asleep. I think it was, it was... airsickness pills they gave us. When I woke up, I didn't really... try to find my unit... to fight. I just... I just kinda stayed put.

Magnificent Musketeer Tournament
Rochefort Poll 3 - Round 1
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Rochefort - Guy Delorme Les Trois Mousquetaires 1961
Delorme is such an underrated Rochefort. He has a real gravitas about him, and his anger is less petty and more real. I find that in Rocheforts hair length usually relates to sincerity of rage. The shorter the hair the less silly he will be and this Rochefort is rocking a close cropped 'do because he is SEETHING. He's got a very classic B&W 'devilishly handsome' look to him despite the films being shot in colour, harkening back to the more classic swashbuckling era of early Musketeer films that were a little camp, a little earnest, and had baller choreography. Points off for Milady romance points immediately back for no eyepatch. Extra points for having lace in his outfit like a count should. Quadruple points for being a silver fox.
Rochefort - Mads Mikkelsen The Three Musketeers 2011
that eyepatch, good god.... i'd chase him across france too
Rochefort - Marc Warren The Musketeers 2014-2016
Marc Warren's version of Rochefort is genuinely terrifying. Unpredictable, dangerous, intelligent, ruthless, and an honest-to-God threat to the Musketeers, as he very nearly succeeds in his plans against them and the Queen, leaving more than a few bodies in his wake. The angle taken by the writers, having had him abandoned by the Cardinal and left to rot in a Spanish prison, gives a new dimension to the original character, now making him a man driven mad by his need for revenge and his lust for the Queen. It provides fuel for a scenery-chewing performance by Marc Warren, who drawls and struts his way through the chaos and bloodshed, lying, murdering and manipulating his way to the top (and looks good in leather while doing so haha). And the guy is VERY committed to the drama - all of the man's home and office furnishings are black, he revels in the chance to hold a show trial for Aramis, yells many a command and one-liners while striding down hallways, and yes, he too joins the ranks of 'Rochefort's who wear an eyepatch'. It's an interpretation that makes you absolutely loathe him, and yet, you cannot look away. And strangely... you may even find you pity him.
In this poll, the 2 Rocheforts with the most votes will move on to the next round
The complete list of entrants can be found here.

JS&MN people….
There is an outtake of Marc Warren as the Gentleman with the Thistledown Hair trying to film the moss oak scene with Steven Black… but a plane flies by ruining the take.
Marc Warren looks utterly venomous to camera and says witheringly, ‘cunt’.
Does anyone have a gif of this? If not could someone please PLEASE please make one?

i finished the musketeers season 2!!! (spoilers ahead)
oh my god what a finale
these last 3 episodes have been definitely the best from this series as a whole really its been so iconic
rochefort - i knew he was going to go there!!!! i knew it was going to happen and i was right!!! i remember when they come up with the plot about him hiring a prostitute and calling her the queen i was like,,,, ohh this bitch is CREEPY creepy. but yh i know Marc Warren from hustle(which he's great in) so it was strange seeing him in such a different role but he's so good! I'm being genuine when i say i hated rochefort more than i hated agrivaine - and that's saying something
ohhh and milady de winter in her milady de rescue mission she smashed those moffat woman allegations with a hammer (back in season one i thought she would end up just being a sexy assassin ex wife and nothing else but no!!! she's one of my faves now!!!)
poor queen! i felt so bad for her this entire time cos yeah they really did that but i still love her uwu i was kindof shipping her with constance this entire time??? idk what the fandom thinks I've been avoiding for spoiler reasons but yeah i see yuri potentiel there. maybe i just like women
but yeah in conclusion - great actors, great tv, i felt things and people died, very nearly cheered when rochefort croaked it but stopped myself at the last second, it was great. i can't wait for season 3 i love you goodbye

The Fae
Puck from the new game "Nightingale" and The Gentleman With Thistledown Hair from "Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell"
🍃🌿🍃🌿🍃🌿🍃🌿🍃🌿🍃🌿🍃🌿🍃🌿🍃🌿🍃🌿
✨️Oh how wonderful it would be to dance with these charming Fae in a fairy soirée somewhere in Lost Hope or somewhere in the Fae Wilds together!✨️
Fun Fact: Puck is voiced by Marc Warren, the brilliant actor who played The Gentleman With Thistledown Hair in the series of Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell!❤️

I was considering changing Marc Warren's Rochefort poll pic to one with an eyepatch, so he matches the rest of the Rocheforts. But maybe it might be better to keep the original pic?
I'll let the people decide!
