Okay, the only proof of Námo being an awkward introvert is him saying, "Not the first" when Fëanáro was having a breakdown as to how he would be the first elf killed in Aman.
Like, just read that passage. He doesn't talk at all, except those three words, and revels in the side-eyes everyone gives him. But of course, no one thinks of it until Finwë is declared dead.
But still. Námo, the Doomsayer of The Valar, The Lord of The Dead, Lord of The Halls of Mandos, One of The Kings of Arda, is definitely an awkward introvert.

The Silmarillion fandom is collapsing.
Has anyone else noticed a lot of people leaving the silmarillion just general Tolkien fandom? Especially on tumblr. One of my favourite Silm blogs deleted their whole account and just disappeared. I’m seeing a lot of amazing creators put out their farewell statements. I absolutely don’t blame anyone who is choosing to leave and especially if it’s just because they’re not happy anymore or are moving on to other things. But I’m noticing that a lot of people are being very negative and some creators have explicitly stated that this has impacted them leaving and losing love and interest for something that once made them so happy because of all the negativity aimed at them. It’s so sad. Also wtf this is a hobby and some people are so demanding with creators like they’re not creating things unpaid and in their free time. Hating on people for what they love and find comfort in or calling them weird for liking and having different takes on certain FICTIONAL characters is disgusting and you’re absolutely the problem if you do that.
To any creators seeing this I just want you to know how much your work is and contribution is appreciated. Especially since it’s not that big of a fandom on here.

Quick sketch <3
My headcanon on Manwë and Melkor's appearance.
Before they were enemies, they were brothers, so I chose a sky theme for their design. Manwë looks like a sunrise and clouds, and Melkor looks like the northern lights.
Should I make another art of them?

Ang-gang!!!
For angbang week instead of reading "angbang" I read "angang" and started doing it XDD so I'm posting it now.
Manwe is here because he wants free drinks or because he is actually an essential part of Angband. Whatever you prefer.

The Star Kindler and Lord of the Breath of Arda
Tumblr media
Chestnuts; Chestnut indicates time to take on the duty of being a provider for ourselves as well as the community. They all symbolize innocence in some places due to how they were used as toys throughout the years. Blueberries; All kinds of berries have symbolized the blood of gods and mythical creatures over the years because of their heavy stains. Blueberries, and blackberries, have before been the berry of pain, remorse, and grief in Europe, however, sometimes you will see them show up as a voice of God and a symbol of divine love from other places on the globe.
I wanted Manwe and Varda to look a bit like their "beastly" forms but not too much as I wanted to have their more humanized forms separated from it, yes, a bit like Jekyll and Hyde, but still keep some of the main things from it so they can still be recognized if you know what to look after.

Manwe~
Understandably sad on the basis of his brother being primordial Evil And also like the idea that he looks very similar to Melkor, tho much softer

As someone who has been hurt and traumatized a lot by toxic masculinity in real life, I cannot express how much the men in Tolkien's legendarium mean to me (there are many examples I could cite, but I'm going to stick to a few that mean the most to me personally and also don't get talked about as much).
I love how Manwë's first reaction is never anger. He is the Elder King, King of the Valar, King of Arda and he's not afraid to cry in public, to be worried and saddened and therefore show "weakness" instead of fluffing up big time and being angry just so he can pretend to be The Man. He's compassionate and believes in the good in people even when he shouldn't.
I love how Ulmo decided to help those he cared about, even if the people in question were not perfect to say the least and officially he was not supposed to be helping at all. He is neither afraid nor ashamed to care.
I love how excited Aulë was for the arrival of the Children (so much so that he made his own), how much joy he finds in teaching and being creative with others instead of wanting to be The Best At Everything and how he speaks up for other creatives too, trying to help others understand their mindset.
I love how polite and warm Eönwë is, giving a rather cordial greeting to someone who was technically trespassing in his home. He's a hero to me not because a line was included that he's the best warrior Maia, but because he's kind and wise, sparing Maedhros and Maglor because he knew the senseless violence had to end. And yes, I also love how old lore Fionwë was crushing on Arien/Urwendi.
So yeah, just some examples, but these are among the ones that stuck with me.
