Health News  "Human mind can overcome any disease," ailing Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar who is suffering from advanced pancreatic cancer tweeted on Monday on the occasion of World Cancer Day.

The Goa Chief Minister was diagnosed for the deadly disease in February last year and has been in and out of hospitals in Goa, Mumbai, New York and is currently admitted in New Delhi's All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) for treatment.

On January 30, Parrikar tabled the annual budget for 2019-20 in the state legislative Assembly, before being taken to the premier health facility in the national capital on the same day. He continues to be admitted in AIIMS.

If the budget will be full of relief and will get rid of inflation, then crores of anti-voters of five states will also have some centi. If the price of petrol and diesel is reduced, then hundred percent voters will be affected. If the price of domestic gas cylinder is reduced, then half of the population will pray. If the government brings a special package for the farmers, it will be able to woo the voters towards its party.

It has been estimated that people are waiting for a booster dose in the economy affected by Corona. There is a possibility that the government may restructure the tax slabs and deductions in section 80C. There can be more and more allocation in the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana and the emphasis will be on its implementation. The emphasis is on the rural and agricultural sectors. More budgetary allocation for rural sector can be seen.

Some new provisions can be made for the agriculture sector. In manufacturing or manufacturing, the government may continue with production-linked incentive schemes for more and more sectors. We can see duty hike for imported items like electronics, tyres etc. Various items are also attracting very low import duty. The government can impose import duty on them too. The broader focus will be on promoting domestic manufacturing.

So Nirmala Sitharaman's budget will be enough to give a feeling of booster dose along with Kashi-Viswanath temple and Ram temple in the eyes of voters of Uttar Pradesh or else it will force them to think about something else. So the provisions of agriculture can also be seen trying to bring the farmers of Punjab under the BJP's stream by pouring ointment. In Uttarakhand, the tradition of swapping can be put to an end.

So Mohini can make an impact on the voters of Goa-Manipur. Let's see how much the budget package of Nirmala Sitharaman looks to tighten inflation in view of the elections of five states. Then it can also be expected that if the gift of Nirmala will be such that no one has seen it yet, then it is certain that the voters of five states will also not accept such return gift as Modi-Shah and Nirmala have done now. Haven't even seen.

Army to establish quarantine centres for 1,500 people as coronavirus spreads - india news

Indian Army will build quarantine facilities all over the country in the waking of rising coronavirus cases.Tentative locations include Jaisalmer, Suratgarh, Secunderabad, Chennai and Kolkata.Service personnel have also been asked to utilise shopping complex facilities within cantonments and military stations.The Indian Army will establish quarantine facilities for 1,500 people at different locations across the country in the wake of rising cases of novel coronavirus infections outside China, two officials familiar with the move said on Friday.The tentative locations where such facilities will come up as part of the government’s overall efforts to control the spread of Covid-19 include Jaisalmer, Suratgarh, Secunderabad, Chennai and Kolkata, said one of the officials cited above.Service personnel have also been asked to utilise shopping complex facilities within cantonments and military stations and avoid visits to crowded areas, including shopping malls and movie halls, the second official said on condition of anonymity. The army has also asked its personnel to avoid non-essential foreign travel. “In consonance with various advisories issued by the government, the Army Headquarters has issued detailed instructions with respect to preparations and emergency response in tackling Covid-19,” said the first official. The latest advisory includes detailed instructions for actions at various military stations, army formations and service hospitals.

Local military authorities have been asked to exercise control to avoid or postpone non-essential public gatherings, the second official said. The advisory has asked military hospitals to establish isolation wards and have separate out-patient departments for screening of symptomatic cases to prevent avoidable transmission. These hospitals will work in synergy with local civil medical authorities and designated Indian Council of Medical Research laboratories. Also, regular health education and counselling activities will be carried out at all military stations.

The Indian Air Force has also issued guidelines to all HQs on dealing with the spread of the coronavirus. A circular issued on Wednesday said all social, official and welfare gatherings should be postponed or cancelled. Personnel have also been told to avoid non-essential travel. Earlier this week, the navy postponed its biggest maritime exercise called Milan due to the spread of coronavirus. The multi-nation naval drills were to be staged off the Vishakhapatnam coast from March 18 to 28. The Manohar Parrikar Institute for Defence Studies and Analyses deferred a key security conference scheduled for next week due to the Covid 19 scare that was scheduled to take place in New Delhi on March 12-13.

Lieutenant General BK Chopra (retd), a former Director General of Armed Forces Medical Services, said, “From natural calamities to outbreak of communicable diseases such as the coronavirus, you can count on armed forces to deliver in an effective and systematic manner.” Read the full article

Ailing Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar on Monday said the human mind can overcome any disease. His message came on the World Cancer Day is observed on Monday. Parrikar, 63, is suffering from a pancreatic ailment and is currently admitted to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in New Delhi. "Human mind can overcome any disease #WorldCancerDay," Parrikar tweeted on Monday. The chief minister was diagnosed with a pancreatic ailment in February last year. Since then he has been admitted to hospitals in Delhi, New York, Mumbai, and Goa. Sources at AIIMS had on Saturday said that his health condition was stable.
