It was hardly the first time Thera had dressed herself in ‘men’s’ clothing. It usually proved far more hardy and practical than whatever century and society had designated women were permitted to wear - at least without ending up a scandal, something she wasn’t troubled by but tried to avoid, purely because she couldn’t be bothered with the fuss.

Mr Jopson, however, had no way of knowing any of that. His eyes had gotten a little bit large on the first glimpse, but the man was nothing if not adaptable, the practical side more than obvious in the cutting north wind.

On the other hand, Thera was well aware that the clothes as a whole were too big, particularly the greatcoat swamped around her shoulders and making her look like a girl playing pretend in her father’s garb. Eyes and lips sparkled amusement as the Steward looked her over, broke into an actual smile as he leaned forward, likely on instinct, to try to settle the bunching on the coat’s too-long sleeves.

Au where one night pre-series, when Steven is trying to stay awake, he just starts live streaming a talk about egypt. He opens with an introduction and explaining that he has a disorder and needs to stay awake. The stream goes for at least four hours. At one point there's a long aside where he's talking to gus instead of any viewers.

Wait u know how for very long-lived celebrities u got these articles coming out every few years falsely claiming they died or are mortally ill or something,,,,

What if every once in a while Alfred has to force Bruce to go outside for a bit bc it's in the tabloids that this man is dead and u got people already setting up memorials or w/e bc they think it's real This Time and u got people calling trying to find out the arrangements for the estate and it's all over Twitter that there's a secret will and depending on the day sometimes Bruce's response is just to put on a shirt that says "not dead yet (sorry)" and stand in front of a traffic cam for a while

Chapter 14: The Carriage

Mr Norrell’s carriage was entirely too large for the main hall, its presence seeming to shrink the space alarmingly. The grand oil paintings on the walls were nothing compared to the real, screaming, stamping horses at the base of the stairs. Or Davey, standing on the driver’s bench, arms flexing as he fought to wrestle the panicked beasts back under control before they did further damage. Lucas joined Davey as Jane watched, looking utterly ridiculous beside the horses in his neat, formal livery, like an actor who’d wandered on stage in the middle of the wrong scene in a play. The ornately patterned wood floor was splintering under the weight of the carriage wheels, and the whole carriage rocked and lurched like a ship at sea. Childermass leapt down and lifted Hannah clear, like a knight in a fairy story. And there was Mr Norrell, wig askew, hovering fretfully halfway up the steps, book in hand — though when he’d gotten it, and what he imagined he was going to do with it, Jane could not begin to imagine.
