Je suis a dutiful and affectionate woman 🧚🏼‍♀️ The type of girlfriend to act like a wifey, right? In my culture, it's not uncommon for women to dote on their husbands 🥰 I'm just imagining what it would feel like for Majima to get that kind of treatment: home-cooked delicious meals, pedicures, foot rubs, body worship, getting his body kissed everyday, and getting doted on 😭 Like it just becomes a ritual that as soon as they start dating she starts to kiss his hands, then it progresses to more intimate actions, paired with romantic words like: "Those who haven't seen you haven't seen a real man before."
SPREADING MY ASS CHEEKS FOR U
I forgot all of the French I learned so for a second I panicked and thought I got a whole ask in French lol. Anyways, YES I love this idea, about to go nuts with it right now. Headcanons below the cut.
Majima is absolutely not used to being doted on. He might react adversely at first as he's confused at what's going on. Why're you doing all of this for him? Why're you being so nice? He's baffled.
More than anything though, he's grateful and he's scared of losing this feeling. Being able to let his guard down and to feel cozy around you is a blessing and he doesn't want the feeling to end. It may take some time for him to get used to it at first though, but be patient as he loves it just as much as you do.
Majima is actually very affectionate but he's not domestic. He's not messy but he doesn't have time to decorate his place or make home cooked meals, so when the two of you start dating and you suggest cooking a meal for him someday, he's like "A home cooked meal? Can't remember the last time I had anythin' like that..."
Your gentle, doting nature is a shock to him as most people, men and women, are quite intimidated by his presence. It shocks not only him but the others in the Tojo Clan to see you happily approach him and kiss his gloved hands before asking how your day is. Most of the men are like "Where did Majima find this person?!". Meanwhile, Majima thinks it's so cute that he could pass out right then and there.
Slowly but surely he does become accustomed to it. He would never be so harsh as to totally rebuff your approaches, it just takes time for him to understand. Once he does, he's totally into it. Next thing you know, you'll be greeting him with hugs and kisses on the cheek with members of the Tojo Clan watching in awe in the background questioning just how Majima ended up in such a cute relationship.
When the two of you eventually move in together, you'll start decorating the house: pictures from PrintCircle framed on a bookshelf, both of your toothbrushes in a little holder by the sink, the closet neatly organized by your clothes and his. It's amazing how much his living space has changed now that you're here. The space feels very loving and cozy and helps him relax.
After a long day of work, he'll come home to find you at the stove, apron tied neatly around your waist, and a smile on your face. He's still not used to coming home to a clean house with food waiting for him but he's so happy and he shows it by wrapping his arms around you from behind before gazing over your shoulder at what you're cooking and saying "Whatcha doin'?"
It doesn't matter what you cook, Majima will gulp it down and ask for seconds, heartily yelling out "Umai!". One thing he will do is help you wash the dishes. He really appreciates your help around the house and tries to repay the favor by doing dishes or bringing in the laundry when it's dry.
He really enjoys when you give him massages and he totally falls asleep afterwards because he's so relaxed. Things like pedicures, foot rubs, and facial masks confused him at first when he saw you do them but when you suggested he try it too, he got a little flustered actually because he never tried it before. Now the two of you sit with face masks on chatting happily before bed.
Little things like asking "How was your day?" mean a lot to him. It's rare for people to genuinely check in on him. However, statements like "You need to remember to eat, honey" or "Do you want me to help you wash your back" absolutely make him melt. He might get shy and deflect to hide how flustered he is, saying things that are completely silly like "Ehhh, don't be silly. A REAL man washes his own back."
Kind as always, you reply with a warm but teasing "You're the one being silly." to which he looks at you with confusion. "You're a real man because you care. And because you always support the people you care about. Being a man isn't determined by things like if you want help washing your back or if someone cooks food for you." Majima would just stare at you silently, just in awe of your seemingly endless kindness. "If people genuinely think you're less of a man for it, they're wrong. Those who haven't seen you haven't seen a real man before."
Majima would just sweep you into his arms and twirl you around before smothering you with kisses. He knows he's far from perfect and he feels like he brings so little to the table with how much effort and care you put into the relationship. He's not great with words, hell sometimes he's plain bad with words, but in this moment his heart is so full and he can't help but express. Even if it's silly and you laugh as he nuzzles his face against yours, you both know that's his way of saying he loves you.

Sagamaji and Shimamaji fic recs
I like making fic rec lists, and I figure I should make one for my current OTP/OTP-in-law. (I’ve been wanting to, but posting long threads on Twitter gives me hives.)
I love these ships so much... I want to spread the love...
I will put a warning for any Main Archive Tags in the fics (a lot of them will have a Rape/Non-Con or Choose Not To Warn/CNTW tag), and I’ll mention other ships, but otherwise not going to bother with CWs since they’ll all be in the fic tags.
Sagamaji fics:
Domesticated by pickedaxe (E, 5.6k, CNTW, my friend actually wrote this for me  🥰 🥰) Sagawa decides that Majima would be of better use at home than at the Grand. Shame by shonenhump (raunchyandpaunchy) (M, 500) Majima’s used to enduring. He’s had to, even before he became yakuza, but especially since then—losing his eye and a year of his life to the Hole, and now managing the Grand, where his job description is enduring humiliation at the hands of entitled customers. It’s nothing he’s not used to.Sagawa’s seen to that. Training Period by Lavavulture (E, 3.7k) Sagawa tries to make the best out of a bad situation but Majima doesn't seem to be capable of basic gratitude. A normal working night by AmberrrRose99 (M, 615) Sagawa fucks Majima on the back balcony of The Grand after closing time. Majima just wants a shower. Millpond by Refracted (M, 3k, Rape/Non-con, Graphic Depictions of Violence) And Majima makes his biggest fucking mistake; he dares to think it's over. It's never over. They're just tossing him into a brighter hole. The Dog's Lost Her Lead by willowoftheriver (M, 3k, Rape/non-con) Ai's there the night Sagawa discovers Club Sunshine. Not For Want Of Trying by philos_manthanein (M, 895, Rape/non-con) Majima really doesn't like Sagawa. Customer is King by Disgusting_Trash (E, 3.9k, Rape/Non-con) (I recommend literally EVERYTHING this author has written) Just before they reached the booth Sagawa grabbed Majima’s arm and leaned in to whisper in his ear, “one more thing, tiger. Can’t enforce the no touching rule for you since you’re not officially a hostess, so you’re on your own. Good luck.” 错乱 by Arctican (E, 18k, CNTW) (This fic is in Chinese; I read it through DeepL MTL and really enjoyed it, it is so hot both emotionally and porn-wise and has amazing characterization; the author as well said the MTL was pretty accurate. Please check it out!!!) 佐川想要让这力量为自己所用,如此不合情理的愿望倒也是和他们狱卒囚犯似的失常关系相称了。 you show me your teeth, you got some nerve by pennysparkle (E, 6k) “Come on. Come sit down, have a drink. Let’s talk, Majima-chan.”The way Sagawa said just about everything was almost certainly designed to put Majima on edge, and knowing this, he found himself stepping inside when the majority of him suddenly found itself much more willing to go downstairs, back into the fray. Favors by Disgusting_Trash (E, 5.3k, Rape/non-con) Sagawa leaned forward on the table, leveling his gaze at Majima. “I'm here to do you a favor and this is the greeting I get?” Majima eyed him disbelievingly, putting his cigarette out. “...yeah?” all bark/no bite by narramin (M, 12k, CNTW, Rape/non-con) (Also Majima/Shimano and Majima/Saejima and Majima/OFC) (More a character study than a ship fic tbh but still delicious) The illusion of freedom is a chain on its own; and Majima is a free man as long as he stays in the city, as long as he keeps doing his job; as long as he ignores the sword hanging above his head. If he just lets the sun pooling in his apartment, the serene river and gulls shrieking under his window lull him.As long as he doesn’t pull on the leash." 促织 by Lindir_hoar (M, 4k, CNTW) (Another Chinese fic I read through DeepL and Google Translate, but SUPER WORTH IT) 这是真的吗,还是梦呢。 power and control by Disgusting_Trash (E, 4, Graphic Violence, Rape/non-con) Majima quickly recognized his tone as being dangerous. The way a snake sounded as it lured its prey in with honeyed words, just before it bared its fangs and struck. “Meet me on Iwao bridge once the Grand closes.”For once, Majima did not dread going back to work. Instead, he dreaded what came after. What's In A Name by FenrisFatale (T, 700, Goromi fic) She made a mistake, telling him her name. Now he takes her out to dinner, the real theater, sometimes for drinks. He smiles. He treats her like a lady. He sees 𝘩𝘦𝘳, and she knows it's only until he works out some new, special way to control her too. Indebted by TheBobblehat (E, 4.2k, CNTW) After being released from the hole, Majima Goro has the nearly impossible job of churning out enough money from The Grand in order to buy his way back into the Tojo Clan. The first few months of the club's off season prove to be a challenge, and Majima fears that he won't have the resources to keep up with Shimano's demands. But Sagawa has other ideas on keeping Majima's ledger up to date. A Noose like a Collar by boognishrising (E, 14k) Sagawa is a great help in preparing Majima for managerial duties. Shimamaji fics (which there are actually very few of u_u): Until death do us part by Kalesha (E, 5.7k, Graphic Depictions of Violence, Rape/non-con) Majima lands a debtor in hospital and Shimano uses it as an excuse to punish him. Shimano and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Week by Lavavulture (M, 2.5k, Major Character Death) In order for a man to be successful he needs to be strong, ruthless, and cunning. Some men have those traits and some don't. (How Shimano's life philosophy worked until it didn't because Kiryu is an unpredictable jackhammer on his shiny head.) Grunt Work by Lavavulture (E, 3k) (Kazumaji as well) Majima is back in the Shimano Family and back in the life but he's not sure he's making it work until he finds new inspiration.

@cxrnxticn says... "are you trying to get yourself killed ?"
First, she finds him bleeding out like a stuck pig. That little incident happened to be the aftermath of one of his usual brawls that led the poor girl to him, his blood acting like a crude trail of crumbs for her to follow, and for Majima himself to ultimately be subjected to a rescue mission of sorts. It still amazes him just how strong a petite lil’ lady can be.
This time, however —
It’s nothing but pure coincidence that he’s caught Mariko’s attention for yet another time, pulling yet another dangerous stunt while he foolishly believes no one’s looking. Her voice comes as a surprise, initially, and he nearly loses his grip on the ladder he’d been trying to slide down; the same kind that are meant for emergencies only, and not for the spontaneous parkour tricks that Majima has taken a liking to performing.
His grip upon the metal only tightens, his head quick to whip towards the source of concern. “Haw?” Upon spotting her, Majima’s eye forms into a squint. He frowns, deciding on a whim to cease his climbing around for the sake of sparing himself more ridicule — and in one swift maneuver, he’s on his feet, safe and sound on the concrete.
“Listen here...” Gloved hands come together as he now dusts them off. “Life`s no fun if I ain`t livin` it on the edge. It ain`t like I`m gettin` any younger, anyways, so, I gotta keep myself limber somehow. Ya get me?” As his head tilts to the side, waiting for her word of agreement upon the matter, he folds his arms to his chest in a most defiant manner. In the end, she matches the intensity of his stare... His sigh sounds defeated.
"Aw, forget it...”

omg there's an amazing moment in the yakuza movie where majima tells his boys not to hurt haruka, that they're there for kiryu only
all of them are opening fire, and kiryu says to haruka, go search for your ma
and haruka's basically like, are you crazy? I'm not moving, there's bullets everywhere!
and kiryu says, don't worry. majima wouldn't lie.
and she stares at him like he's crazy, but she starts to crawl
and as soon as majima sees her move he puts up his hand and says time out
AND LIKE. just in itself that's so funny. majima immediately calls time and lets his boys reload etc while letting haruka past, and you can see haruka (understandably) thinks the whole situation is mental
she starts walking past, majima catches her shoulder and says, "looking for your Mommy, huh? hope you find her."
and HARUKA says, "if you kill kiryu, I'll whack you."
and majima starts fake sulking with his lips pouted and his face all sad as she keeps going past him
and then once haruka's gone up the stairs he drops the fake tears and goes, okay, start shooting again!
like for the movie it's at least partly an economic choice - in the game this moment is with that girl who majima holds at knife point but lets go when she says she has a boyfriend
but like, apart from it being haruka and meaning more for their relationship
it says so much more for KIRYU's relationship with majima, or more accurately, kiryu's understanding of majima
that he not only trusts his word, but trusts his word to the extent he'll risk haruka's life on it

I have to drag this to a text post cuz my reply is getting way too long and I wanna put these together!!
@slothfuljeremiah @nowhere302
A8 - Favorite song(s)?
Ohhhhh strap in I have a lot of songs to talk about. Gonna break this down by game. I decided against doing any of the karaoke tracks cuz that would be its own big list by itself!
0 - ‘Pledge of Demon’ (Kuze’s theme from the sewer tunnel fight) is sooooo good I think most people would say thats probably the best track from 0
youtube
I also absolutely ADORE ‘For Buddy’ (Nishikiama’s ‘For Who’s Sake’ remix from the Nishiki Majima fight) it has a completely different vibe from ‘For Who’s Sake’ and the significance of it is so good. It somehow makes ‘For Who’s Sake’ even sadder.
youtube
Honorable mention to ‘Receive You the Subtype’ remix (Majima’s mad dog style battle theme)! And the Telephone Club minigame tracks also slap
youtube
1/k1 - Is it cheating if I say ‘Receive You the Prototype’? Although I have to say, the k1 remix of ‘For Who’s Sake’ (Nishikiama’s theme from the final battle) is SO GOOD. So good...
youtube
Also… how could you not love 'Funk Goes On'?? Get Fuuuunky
2/k2 - HUUUGE FAN of ‘A Scattered Moment’ (Ryuji’s theme that plays during the final battle of 2. Its absolutely amazing, not at all what I was expecting his theme to sound like but it *perfectly* encapsulates him and the desperation and pain and sadness of the final battle in 2. One of my favorite tracks just overall.
youtube
3 - ‘Fly’ (Mine’s theme) is. Really good! I think just about everyone would say this one, I can’t really think of anything else from 3 that I would note soundtrack wise
4 - ‘Receive and Bite You’!! Majima’s receive you remix in this game is really good. So much tension leading up to the Majima Saejima batting cage fight. It hypes me up Every Time and its just very Him
youtube
5 - I thiiink im gonna have to go with ‘So Much More’ (Haruka’s…. Theme? I guess) it was stuck in my head the whole time I was playing her stuff in 5. Her other songs are good too ofc but if I had to pick one it would be that one. I know, loophole. Whatever 5 is different
6 - I really really like ‘Theory of Beauty’ (Joongi’s theme). Idk it just gets me so pumped up every time. Songs to get naked and fight to the death in the underground bdsm fight ring underneath Stardust to. Iconic. 10/10
youtube
I also really love ‘Destiny’ (Someya’s theme) its similar to how I feel with ‘A Scattered Moment’. It encaptures him and his struggle so well.
7 - Big BIG fan of both Majima and Kiryu’s receive you remixes from 7, ‘Receive You the Hyperactive’/‘Receive and Turn You’, and ‘Rolling Eyes Fall Down the Dragon Wall’ of course. Both of them are just incredible.
youtube
youtube
I also really LOVE ‘Confrontation/Brutality’, (Sawashiro’s theme) it just perfectly captures what he’s about as a character so nicely, I love him a lot. Plus it slaps incredibly hard. I think overall 7 has my favorite tracks. All the battle themes are also very good
youtube
C9 - What was the most emotional scene in the series?
This is TOUGH. Theres sooo many gut wrenching emotional scenes and these games are really REALLY good at them sometimes. Im gonna have to say something from 0 probably, that game made me cry several times on my first playthrough. So many memorable emotional scenes, but I think im gonna go with the ending. Without spoiling too much I think anyone whos seen it knows exactly what im talking about. This or the scene in the empty lot after a certain characters death (you know the one)
Honorable mention to y3 and the thing w Rikiya. yeah
D1 - Who’s the most overrated character?
First off before I say this, I really dont think ANY of the characters in this game are overrated. I stewed on this for a while, I just cant think of anyone id call truly overrated. But. Listen. Okay I cant believe im gonna say this everyone knows I love him so dearly he is my everything- but it’s Majima? I guess? I really don’t wanna call him *overrated* per se thats not the right word because he deserves all the love he gets, but he is just. so. He's Inescapable. I almost feel bad for anyone who likes these games but doesnt like him because hes quite literally everywhere- and. hes not even in the games that much!!! I quite literally cant think of any other character I could possibly say here
And its not that hes overrated, hes a fantastic character and hes SO fun to think about and analyze I love him dearly more than anything but he just blows everyone else out of the water? No contest. Its amazing. Theres just no other character quite as beloved as him in this fandom. For better or worse.
E4 - Ramen or Takoyaki?
Literally go fuck yourself. Dont pit two bad bitches against each other like this. An impossible question. Id rather die than answer this for real
F3 - Who are you inviting to karaoke?
Majima! Duh!! No question, he’s just TOO much fun- no other character has even half as much of a blast as him at karaoke. Irl I would be WAY too shy to do something like that around anyone but I think doing karaoke w him would be SO much fun and it would make me laugh like. A Lot
A5 - Favorite final boss(es)?
Im gonna be boring and say Ryuji because I love him, and he deserved so much better and that fight is so devastating. But I also really enjoy the final battle in 7, not because its particularly tough or entertaining its just the story significance of it is really cool. I wont spoil anything about it but I enjoy it!
Also. Honorable mention to Nishiki of course. I have to say him as well Rook brings up a good point tho…. final battle w Majima in y5 also..
Feel free to ask some more!

do you have some dadjima x pregnant partner headcanons maybe?? thank you soo, love your blog and all your hcs :)
Dadjima on the brain 24/7 💞 Let’s see... This ended up being long again, so it’s under the cut! ✨
First things first, when his partner breaks the news to Majima, he’s honestly stunned to speechlessness. It’s not a surprise baby, they both agreed to start trying to conceive, because he knows better than to leave family planning to chance. But he’s just... overwhelmed, now that the idea of fatherhood is actually becoming a reality. Overwhelmed, but so very happy.
However, with all that happiness comes the worrying. On top of the doubts he’s got about himself, he also knows just how delicate the baby is, especially in the first trimester. He tries to be exceedingly, uncharacteristically gentle even when just hugging his partner and he feels guilty when morning sickness comes around, knowing there’s little he can do to help. He can at least be there, for comfort and moral support, even if it means turning up late to the odd clan meeting.
Speaking of those, I don’t think he’d rush to inform his family or his superiors about the pregnancy. Rumors spread fast as is and who knows what malicious ears that might also be listening. The first time he ever drops a hint is to Nishida, when he’s given a list of new hires to approve and instead of actually checking their qualifications, he fixates only on their names.
“Naruki... how’s that sound to ya, Nishida? Would’ja name yer son that?”
Now, Nishida’s no fool, why else would the boss bring up baby names if ane-san wasn’t... well, but also because he’s no fool, he isn’t going to let on that he’s figured it out. He just smiles and tries to give honest, heartfelt advice. Maybe subtly drop in some girls’ names too, as he knows Majima’s soft spot too well.
Also in the first trimester, Majima is very susceptible to puppy dog eyes, especially if he’s coming home in the middle of the night and his partner’s still wide awake, really yearning for some salt and vinegar chips... Technically he shouldn’t, junk food can’t be good for the baby... but then again his own body practically runs on junk food, is he really one to talk? Also, if anyone deserves a treat, shouldn’t it be the mother of his children? ...Fuck it, he makes a run to the conbini and comes back with enough snacks for both of them to munch on until they finally fall asleep, around the break of dawn.
Okay so he’s kinda wanted to do this since day one, but it’s once his partner starts showing that he just can’t hold back any more: always plural now, for every greeting. “How’re my darlings doin’? Did my girls sleep well? You two feelin’ okay?” Maybe the little one is still too small to hear his words, but Majima reckons that the sooner they’re included in the family, the more they’ll feel their parents’ love.
And all while his child’s still in the womb, he tries to speak to them often, even jokingly calling on them as a tie-breaker when he and his partner disagree on something.
“Ain’t so sure about that, maybe we should ask our lil’ man here... or lil’ lady“ as he gently pats the belly hoping for a kick in response.
So I spoke about Majima not being able to hold back tears for that very first kick, but how would it happen? I think it would be on one of their lazy movie nights, where they’re just cuddled up together on the couch, Majima playing the big spoon and holding his spouse tight, hands smoothing idly over the bump... And, well, it’s a zombie movie - seen one, seen ‘em all, right? (don't tell Majima that!)
So maybe his partner dozes off... only to later wake up to someone trying his damnedest to stifle a sob against their shoulder, his cheek wet and his eye so misty. He can’t even form words to explain why he’s crying and he gets even more embarrassed seeing how much he’s scaring his partner, but he eventually manages to croak out: "...her little foot... I... I felt... her..."
Ohhhh. Watch him let the tears run for real as the words "she's just excited to meet her daddy" do the exact opposite of calming him down. He’s crying harder... but he's just as excited to meet her, for sure 💙
And when it comes to said bump, he’d waste no time reassuring his partner that they’re just as, if not even more beautiful than before. Since really nothing compares to the warm glow of his beloved’s body, busy growing the most amazing gift to ever enter their lives.
Kisses and caresses? You bet. Yoga and pre-natal exercises? He’s a flexible guy and he wants to show solidarity, so why not. Oils to keep the skin soft and healthy as it stretches? Majima knows absolutely nothing about that, but he’ll learn, the same way he’s learned most of his skills in life: by persevering and giving it his all.... and also by looking it up on the Internet (another little tip from Nishida)
As the birth approaches, he puts extra thought into what first toy he’s gonna present the baby with. In his mind he’s already drunk on happy fantasies of it becoming the kid’s favourite plushie, much loved, much worn, carried with them just about everywhere... that’s exactly why it’s gotta be something good! Do they still make Bun-chans? he wonders. If so, then he’s not leaving the arcade until he’s got one in every colour and especially the jumbo size 💙💙💙 Ahh lotsa paragraphs again... goes to show just how much the image of Maji as a dad has consumed my mind. Thank you for the ask and the kind words, I hope these fill the Dadjima needs!

Hello! I gotta say im really enjoying the Yakuza 0 playthrough. So thank you for making me aware of such an awesome game. The plot is simple yet the story has so many elements to enjoy, the characters are amazing and the side stories are great as well. But i wanted to ask, what is your opinion on majima goro as a character? Just whst do you think about him? His different personalities in yakuza 0 and the next games? Im curious
𝐍𝐨𝐰 𝐋𝐞𝐭'𝐬 𝐬𝐞𝐞....
Tumblr media
AAA HI ANON, THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR KIND WORDS, AND ALL YOU SAID ABOUT YAKUZA IS TRUE, ITS SIMPLE BUT STILL SO AMAZING, THE SIDE STORIES AND HOW THE GAMES FLESH OUT THE MAIN CHARCTERS BY DOING THE SIDE GAMES!!!
Okay but going to the topic of my opinion of Majima. He's a really well written character, Yes they're alot of well written characters in Yakuza but Majima just immediately takes the spotlight once he steps in the scene and captures the viewers eyes

hullo! for the rgg questions, may i ask for A13, B4, C6, D9 and F10? sorry if that's too many!!
Not at all!
A.13) Favorite minigame(s)?
Too damn many lol. Everyone's just like, 'well ya can't go wrong with karaoke' and while I agee, I've gotta admit that I really only enjoyed karaoke in y0. I don't maybe because of the Majima and Nishiki? Maybe because of the UI? Idk, all I know is y0 is the only game where I couldn't get enough of it.
All time fave though? The fucking cabaret minigames in y0 and kiwami 2. Amazing gameplay! The music???? I wannnaaaa be your girlll oohoooooo. Or, WHERE IS MYYY LOVE!!!! I CANNOT FIND TI!!!!!! BOPS! BOPS OF THE HIGHEST ORDER! The girls??!?!?!?! Every single one of them??? I fell in love! LOVED THEM! My favorite girls were from y0 tho- Ai, Yuki, Saki, Hibiki. BUT KANA IS MY FUCKING WIFE!!!!!!!!!!!! I loved her so much! I was happy to see her in the next game. Despite the retcon.
The disco minigames were a blast a well! I sucked at them but they were a good time. Love to break away from all the bloodshed and tears to go bust a groove in my local Maharaja. Fantastic fun.
Dance battles in Y5?!?!??!? THE MUSIC????!??!??!? BOPS!!!!! BOPS ALL AROUND!!!!!! Wildly entertaining!
The taxi shit was fun too and hell, I even enjoyed hunting in Saejima's part. And I know a bunch of folks aren't gonna like this one but I really liked the Live Chatting in y6. It gave me some good laughs and I liked seeing Kiryu perving out on the internet lol. Fucking sue me, idc.
B.4) Who would you like to post more about but you don’t? Why don’t you?
Majima, most definitely! I don't because I think, I've said this somewhere here before, I feel like Majima tags are oversaturated to a degree. I know the word 'oversaturated' has a seeming negative connotation but I don't necessarily mean that in an insulting way. I just feel like, everything that can be said about Majima has been said to death and no one needs my input at this point.
C.6) If you could revive any deceased character, who would it be and why?
Nishiki. Nishiki's story began in a time where the writers felt the only way to end an antagonist's story was to kill them off and I don't think that was necessary. They're fucking yakuza- send their asses to jail sometimes! Shit. Granted, Yakuza 1 didn't have a very in depth version of Nishiki. When I met Nishiki, I was playing y0, so seeing the way his relationship with Kiryu slowly crumbled killed me and so did seeing him crumble. I would have loved for him to have survived and then get to have a redemption arc. Hell, Kiryu accepted Hamazaki- I'm sure he could do the same for his childhood friend and sworn brother.
D.9) Any hot takes? (Something that might not win ya any new friends)
Answered here, my friend! Warning, it's extra spicy.
F.10) Who would be your kyodai?
Omg, I think hate this question and I'm the bitch that came up with it lol. Um, probably Nishiki. (aww shit, here we go again) I would have loved to have been the support system he needed while Kiryu was away. I really think that with the right support, the right guidance and acceptance, Nishiki's story would have turned out different. And for the better. And I don't mean this in a shippy way either. The poor guy was just a lost punk that wanted to be seen beyond his brother's shadow. I'd give my right tit, to have been that for him (no smushing, i promise).

WHERE?: [pic of Kumo, Ahma, and Sora playing tag with Kaede and Michi]
WHERE?: {pic of Hoshi, Tsuki, and Taiyo drawing with Asahi and Emica]
WHERE?: They're adorable today.
SmolMight: precious.
EdgarAllanCrows: I stan ten (10) good daughters of darkness.
SmolMight: Tokoyami and Dark Shadow helping with the girls is the cutest thing to see. I have been blessed upon witnessing this.
EdgarAllanCrows: They have claimed me as their weird bird uncle. I accept this. I shall cherish and spoil them.
chaoticgaydisaster: Thank god we have you to help, Tokoyami. I can't fucking move.
Emergency Exit: Why can you not move? Are you injured, Touya? Should someone help you to Recovery Girl?
chaoticgaydisaster: no, I'm just having my period and day two hurts more than day one.
lostmymarbles: I'll get your hot water bottle and ice cream.
Dadzawa: I got you excused from your hero training class today. Shoto, do you need to be excused today as well?
WHERE?: As much as I hate the assumption that me and my brother have the same cycle, we do and yes I do need today off hero training class.
mylittlepony: Why do they get off? Aren't periods normal?
SmolMight: they both have issues with their menstrual cycles where Shoto's is very heavy and Touya's is very painful.
mylittlepony: Oh, I get it, please excuse my ignorance of the situation.
chaoticgaydisaster: it's fine, Pony.
WHERE?: it's okay, you didn't know.
Iron Man: Do you two need anything?
HopeSummers: Tetsu, no, you can't abduct them into your little group.
WHERE?: I'm scared to ask, but what group?
Akimichi: Tetsutetsu is the leader of the UA Girls Protection Squad. He helps us all with our monthlies and just generally protects us from the grape gremlin in your class.
WHERE?: I agree to be abducted into this cult you have, Tetsutetsu.
chaoticgaydisaster: same here. let me join your cult.
Iron Man: These are now my children.
glorifiedtextbubble: great, he has more children
t-rex costume: meeting happens in one of you two's rooms tonight.
deadinside: We'll come at the meeting bearing food, tea, heat pads, and movies of you two's choice.
chaoticgaydisaster: I like disney movies.
WHERE?: pixar
SmolMight: oh god, this again.
SmolMight: just bring dreamworks movies. they can't fight over which is better then.
Iron Man: Thanks Midoriya.
SmolMight: you're very welcome. I just don't want to hear them have another pixar versus disney fight tonight.
Dadzawa: alright kids, time for class soon, make sure you're all ready except Yukimura and Todoroki.
4:07 PM
We Are Number One™
Iron Man: We come bearing zaru soba, oyakodon, curry bread, takoyaki, tonjiru, ice cream, and chamomile tea!
chaoticgaydisaster: so much food, jeez.
mystique: Tetsu insisted we make sure you two eat enough since you have bad periods and you might get anemic.
Iron Man: Plus, we also made sure they're all soft enough for you, Touya.
chaoticgaydisaster: hold on, gonna cry right quick.
WHERE?: don't cry too hard, it'll hurt.
chaoticgaydisaster: I know.
Iron Man: omw with the curry bread, tea, and cuddles! Girls, you better catch up, I'm running my way over to them.
chaoticgaydisaster: Thank you, Tetsu.
Iron Man: It's with my greatest honor.
6:24 PM
We Are Number One™
9.8: so what's everyone going as for Halloween?
cena: I'm going as the old school version of Mystique.
Spider-Man: only because I had to convince her to wear clothing and not do the movie version.
cena: you're no fun, Hanta! It's not like they'd see me!
tailfloof: anyway, moving on from the couple in aisle five, I'm going as Winter Soldier.
baby shark: me, Denki, and Katsuki are going as Mitsuki, Boruto, and Sarada
princessbubblegumknockoff: I'd kill to see Bakugo in a Sarada costume but we all know that's gonna be Kaminari.
princessbubblegumknockoff: also I'm goin as Eridan with Hatsume as Feferi.
TheGreatCreator: Me and Jirou are going as Sally from Nightmare before Christmas and Emily from the Corpse Bride. She insisted on scary and I cannot say no.
EdgarAllanCrows: This year, I'm going as a ghost bride. Last year I was a vampire, and the year before I was a witch. But this year, I am a ghost bride.
EdgarAllanCrows: And I have convinced my boyfriends to kind of match with me.
Cthulhu: What he means to say is he's going as a ghost bride, I'm going as a zombie, Koda will be a groom, and Sato is planning to be a skeleton.
Pichu: heh, four stages of life.
EdgarAllanCrows: He gets it. Our plan is working.
Galvan: I'm going as Harley and Ivy.
Emergency Exit: I'm going as the MCU Quicksilver.
immafirinmahlaser: I'm going to be the wonderful Viktor Nikivorov this year.
Dadzawa: I have been roped into group costumes this year
exhausted: what are they, dad, we're all so curious to know, I'm sure.
Dadzawa: you're going with us, don't act surprised.
Dadzawa: Mic and Midnight dragged me and Tensei into dressing up as the main cast of Heathers with Shinsou as a next generation Heather.
cena: which heather are you playing, Mr. Aizawa?
Dadzawa: Chandler with Mic as Macnamara, Midnight as Duke, and Tensei as Veronica.
cena: interesting. and Shinsou?
exhausted: well, ya see, I didn't want to go as JD so Mic came up with my character so it isn't the best character. I'm going as Heather Bay.
cena: and she is?
Dadzawa: Basically Chandler's kid that she gave up. Mic isn't very creative but we stan him anyway.
princessbubblegumknockoff: I think it's cute! you're still going as parent and child!
chaoticgaydisaster: me and Sho decided to go as Freed and Rufus from Fairy Tail.
Jack Skellington: so kinda twins but not really. crafty boys.
shadowclonejutsu: the rest of us ex-league are going as pokemon and Touya was supposed to be vulpix, but he wanted to be almost matchy with Shoto
chaoticgaydisaster: I know, I was supposed to wear a vulpix costume to match my husband being eevee but this is also my first halloween with my brother in well...forever.
princessbubblegumknockoff: Wait, so is this you two's first halloween?
WHERE?: yes. together at least. i've had one with my daughters and touya has had one with the League but we never had one together.
princessbubblegumknockoff: can I join the Fuck Endeavor squad @SmolMight?
SmolMight: I'm just the spokesperson of the Fuck Endeavor Squad. Touya and Shoto are the presidents. But yes, you can join.
princessbubblegumknockoff: good. yeet his stupid ass at the sun.
WHERE?: amen.
chaoticgaydisaster: preach girl.

lostmymarbles: My husband is the best. God, I love him. He's amazing.
chaoticgaydisaster: Atsu, you're destroying my reputation!
lostmymarbles: sometimes I still hear him screeching when he blushes.
chaoticgaydisaster: I'm bout to be screeching at you, I'm blushing dammit
WHERE?: [pic of Touya blushing]
WHERE?: he's a tomato now.
chaoticgaydisaster: betrayed by my own brother. Monoma, may I join you on the roof?
HopeSummers: Sure, I guess but I don't want you to die so I'd have to shield you from the ground.
chaoticgaydisaster: worth it
lostmymarbles: babe no!
chaoticgaydisaster: Okay, I guess I won't.
HopeSummers: wow, that was easy.
chaoticgaydisaster: I am a simple man. my husband tells me not to jump off a building and I won't do it.
10:38 PM

Dadzawa: the name change paperwork is now done. now it's just the hearing and official birth certificate change.
Emergency Exit: That's great, Mr. Aizawa!
Dadzawa: we're having korokkes to celebrate. me and a few select Chosen Ones™ shall go get ingredients.
chaoticgaydisaster: sweet potato and chicken.
WHERE?: pumpkin and tuna
HopeSummers: Wow, you two have weird cravings.
idontfeelsogood: you should've seen Touya's cravings when he was pregnant.
shadowclonejutsu: It was even weirder combinations.
eye gucci: there was that instance with the pears and mushrooms
WHERE?: mine were bad too. but you can probably already tell that.
Dadzawa: anyway, anyone else want anything different than sweet potato and chicken or pumpkin and tuna
TheGreatCreator: shrimp please and pork for Jirou
shadowclonejutsu: I want shrimp too
SmolMight: I just like cheese in mine, Tokoyami says he likes salmon, Sako says he likes egg.
baby shark: Baku likes ham and cheese, Kami likes mushrooms, and I like shrimp too.
cena: Me and ojiro both like eggplant and Tsu and Mina both like peppers, onions, and cheese
idontfeelsogood: count me in for pepper, onions, and cheese
donthugmeimscared: me too
stopwatch: same here
GuyFieriIsGod: ya know what? I want octopus in mine.
Cthulhu: I second the octopus.
9.8: I like tomato and cheese.
immafirinmahlaser: moi likes ham and cheese as well, reminds me of home.
Spider-Man: spinach and tofu.
GuyFieriIsGod: Koda says kimchi and cheese for him.
Emergency Exit: ...kimchi and cheese as well
princessbubblegumknockoff: oh my god, Iida likes weird food combos too!? revolutionary.
SmolMight: we stan one (1) good fast boy
Dadzawa: and my son likes kimchi and cheese in his too. Ashido, Hagakure, and Yaoyorozu, you three are Chosen™.
Dadzawa: choose who you may to go with you.
cena: I'm bringing Tsu and Ochako.

TheGreatCreator: I'll bring Jirou

Pichu: does that mean I go too?
GuyFieriIsGod: Kami, you're a girl?
Pichu: I'm kinda working on that.
baby shark: you sure you wanna tell everyone?
Pichu: yeah, it's not like they won't find out.
Pichu: I'm in the process of transitioning mtf. I'm just trying to get up enough money to get bottom surgery. then it's just my HRT.
WHERE?: is there a way I can convince you to let me pay for it?
Pichu: I...wait, did you just offer to pay for my bottom surgery?
WHERE?: yes.
Pichu: Todoroki, I can't accept that! I have to earn this myself.
WHERE?: okay
Dadzawa: anyway, girls, come on. (yes, you too Kaminari)
Spider-Man: Hey, Kami, is there a name you've picked out yet?
Pichu: yeah, I was thinking Akari or Uzume. I'm leaning more toward Uzume.
princessbubblegumknockoff: I love our good pichu girl Uzume Kaminari.
Dadzawa: I'll begin the paperwork for getting you switched to the girls dorms if you'd like after we eat.
Pichu: Thank you, Mr. Aizawa!
Dadzawa: I have a clinging pokemon daughter and I couldn't be happier.
princessbubblegumknockoff: [pic of Kaminari hugging Aizawa tightly in the van]
Izukrew
11:04 PM
We Are Number One™
WHERE?: I have an idea for Kaminari.
SmolMight: I'm all ears.
WHERE?: before that happens.
WHERE? has added WHAT? to Izukrew
WHERE?: where does Kaminari work, Bakugo?
WHAT?: Heiwa to Chowa in Kamino. Evening shift from 5 to 10 every day. I have a feeling I know what you and your brother are planning, Fireball.
WHAT?: And I greatly approve of what you're planning. Uzume is a stubborn woman, she won't accept help if she's put her mind to doing it herself. She's only got the last 300 dollars from the cost of the surgery to cover.
WHERE?: Good, thank you. I shall plan accordingly. Touya starts the same shift tomorrow so I have an excuse to be there if questioned.
WHAT?: I'm leaving now. I'll be there to watch at her shift start tomorrow. You better be nice to her.
WHERE?: I may be gay but I know how to treat women, I drink my respecting women juice every morning.
WHAT?: Good, drink your respecting women juice or else I'll explode your face.
WHAT?: With that lovely sentiment.
WHAT? has left Izukrew
9.8: I feel like I just watched a back-alley deal and I love it.
SmolMight: You get used to it. That's just how Kacchan and Shocchan interact with each other now that they're friends.
9.8: Kamino made you two scary close.
WHERE?: we're also pretty close with Shinsou and Bakugo had a real bonding moment with Touya.
WHERE?: you bond pretty well with a person when you're trapped together and happen to have your periods at the same time while kidnapped.
9.8: you got me there.
Emergency Exit: Todoroki, are you going to take money out of your father's card to pay for Kaminari's surgery?
WHERE?: you're getting it Iida. you are correct, that's exactly what I'm doing.
Emergency Exit: Then I shall go with you to make sure you don't do anything stupid.

Yakuza Drabble - Majima Goro - Goro’s no good, very bad day.
A/N: My last writing stream was fun! Thank you to those who made it out to watch me wrestle the muse into flexing that writing muscle!
Written for @ravenvelith - who, I am glad to say, has joined me, willingly mind you, in Yakuza hell.
Characters: Majima Goro/Reader Warnings: Mentions of past injury [Goro’s missing eye] Word Count: 579 Summary: Goro always believed, as the Manager of Cabaret Grand, that the customer was always right. That he should put himself last for the sake of others, and he’s always amazed at how you, put him first.
Tumblr media
It had been such a long day.
And if Goro could describe it, he thinks he’d call it a no good, very bad day.
Customers always came first. Should always come first, and he put much on the line for himself to make that happen, but sometimes, there was no pleasing them. And when there was no pleasing them, he felt so, so tired.
So when he closed the door to the apartment he was surprised at the smell that greeted him. Slowly he walked through the apartment, undoing the buttons on his suit coat as he made his way into the kitchen only to find you there, humming softly as you were making dinner. He paused within the doorway to watch you quietly, fingers undoing the bow tie around his neck and he felt himself smile.
Here, he was sure he could be himself. Give into selfish things.
...or rather you told him he could, but he always put you first. Seemed that he wanted you to know just how special you were to him. And always would be.
As he approached you from behind you turned your head to look back at him and smile. “Going to stand there all day?”
He stopped dead in his tracks before he gave you a smile, and moved closer, wrapping his arms loosely about your waist. “No. But, I did not want to interrupt.”
“Mmn,” you hummed softly before you blinked, then turned to look at him. “...why do you smell like you crawled into a bottle of Champagne?”
Goro softly cleared his throat. He knew you could smell it on him, not on his breath, but still, he felt guilty in a way. “The customer is always right. Yes?”
Saying not a word as you turned around in his arms, he swallowed a lump in his throat. Were you mad that he had let such a thing happen? Should he apologize to you? Should—he was pulled from his racing thoughts as your fingers brushed against his cheek and went to the back of his head. A soft groan passed his lips as you pulled his long hair free from it’s tie as it fell to hang loose about his shoulders, he couldn’t help but lean toward you more as your fingers worked gently against his scalp.
“May I?” you said softly.
He hesitated for a moment before giving you a slight nod of his head. He always hated having you see it. He held his breath as you slowly undid his eyepatch and pulled it from his face. He kept his eye closed as you coaxed him closer, only to make a soft strangled sort of noise as you placed a kiss to the still intact eyelid. His hands gripped your hips more firmly as your lips brushed across the bridge of his nose and you pressed another kiss to his other eye. He felt you move away, but he found that he couldn’t let you go.
Slowly he let his eye open to look down at you, and he found you smiling. His heart hammered in his chest as you smiled to him brightly.
“Better?”
He found himself at a loss for words, so instead he gently nodded as your hand once more moved up into his hair, fingers raking through it to brush it back from his shoulder. And slowly, he had to agree.
Goro’s no good, very bad day was suddenly better. All because of you.

Hi! Love your work! Can I request some headcanons for Kiryu, Tachibana, and Majima about a SO who is a professional artist?
Kiryu:
-Despite what it may seem at first glance, Kiryu is a man that understands art. Or at least is able to recognize it, and he makes sure to assure you that what you do is the most fantastic art he has ever seen.
-Sometimes he just can’t put it into words, but he really admires every work you make. He looks at your hands and finds it amazing that those beautiful hands can create such wonderful pieces from scratch.
-He feels honored if you ever decide to gift him a piece of your art. He will make sure to put it in display somewhere everyone is allowed to see it.
-If you are ok with it, he would love to watch you work on your art. There is something about it that simply makes him feel like he is watching the universe being created.
Tachibana:
-Here we have another man that knows how to appreciate art. He probably met you through your art, since you were one of his favorite artists, and things escalated from there.
-His office is full of your art pieces. More like his whole work place.
-He would like to ask you about the meaning of the pieces you make, if you are ok with it, and he feels like he understands it in a deeper level after you explain it to him.
-Tachibana is very supportive of your artwork and will make sure that it gets known worldwide if it isn’t already.
-He feels very honored if you ever ask him to give you criticism about your art. Beware, though, he is going to be 100% honest!
Majima:
-Unlike both former men, he isn’t really an art kind of guy. But hey! that doesn’t mean he isn’t supportive of you, quite the opposite actually.
-He will think that everything you do is fantastic. He can barely draw a stick man so he can’t believe how someone would be able to create something so amazing as you do!
-”Do ya want me to model for ya?” he would ask often not so jokingly. He can be your muse, y’know.
-If you ever gift him one of your art pieces, he will treasure it with his whole heart. He probably has this especial, safe place where he puts it and looks at whenever he misses you and you are away.
-”Ya know i think ya got your art talent from yer mom. I mean, look at the fine piece of art she made!” *Slaps your ass*

Top 5 Games Of The Year #4
Tumblr media
Yakuza 0 is a pretty special game both individually and as a part of its franchise. It’s the first time Yakuza has taken a step backwards chronologically, in order to better explore already established characters and what led them to the events of the first game. It gets a lot of praise already and I’m just here to heap a little more onto the pile because it well deserves it. Although the series at this point is no stranger to having multiple protagonists and Majima has technically been playable before the special feeling Yakuza 0 elicits by having two protagonists wasn’t really lost for it. Compared to the four in Yakuza 4, or the frankly over padded five protagonists in Yakuza 5, taking a step down to just two and placing an almost equal emphasis on each really does the game’s narrative and pacing wonders. Yakuza 0′s story is really good it is an excellent crime drama and among the best main plots the series has to offer. While some might argue other entries, usually 2 or 4, can stand up alongside it I feel 0′s has an edge in some areas. Largely in terms of pace, ambition, and intrigue. For instance, 2 doesn’t really mess around with plot twists, the entire game basically waves a giant flag over Ryuji saying he’s the final boss and the whole plot exists basically just to get to his and Kiryu’s legendary fight. And that’s fine, it doesn’t try to be more than it needs to be and that’s okay. 4 meanwhile has more intrigue and some good twists in there but its pace is much poorer in my opinion. Your mileage may vary on the bullets plot twist, too. 0 has some legitimate plot twists and it does a great job getting players engaged and interested in what’s going to happen next. To get back to 0 though, it doesn’t sacrifice characterization to achieve the quality of its plot either, far from it. It’s the first time we’ve seen a young, hot blooded, and frankly really stupid Kiryu. Kiryu’s never a smart guy but getting to see how he handles situations and behaves before 10 years in prison and subsequent stories smooth his edges and temper his personality is really a treat for fans of the character and newcomers alike. He’s fun, relatable, serious when he needs to be, and most importantly he’s still perfectly recognizable as Kiryu. He is still absolutely that amazing protagonist that you know and love, he’s just young, dumb, and full of.....well you know. On the other hand Majima is almost unrecognizable in this game, being calm, well dressed, a charismatic and professional showman, dissuading others from fighting, all while being openly depressed to boot. This take on Majima still feels fitting because the way he phrases himself is familiar, his gut reactions feel right for the characters, and ultimately this game contextualizes not just his transformation into the Mad Dog of Shimano fans know him as later but many of his actions through the rest of the series. Just ignore how his story here and how he’s written in Yakuza 5 violently contradict one another. We can all just pretend Y5′s Majima writing isn’t canon. The strength of characterization extends to the game’s side characters too, including ones who alongside Majima and Kiryu return from the main series. Nishiki, Kashiwagi, the Lieutenants, Tachibana, Lee, and more are all memorable and great characters. Just, uhh, don’t expect many women in the main plot is all. I don’t want to talk too in depth about the game’s story so as to avoid spoiling anything but it really is a treat. The script takes advantage of player’s expectations in a meta sense, that ultimately this will be Kiryu’s game because, well, Yakuza 4 and 5 were Kiryu’s games in spite of the other protagonists. Those guys all got good, moving stories too and they are all well worth experiencing and having around but ultimately Kiryu is still the most important guy on the block. Not so, here, as by the halfway point of the game players might notice that Majima’s ‘half’ of the game, his half of the game’s chapters, are quite a bit longer than Kiryu’s. Majima has a lot more legwork to do in the story because it is his story, and while Kiryu gets the true final boss fight and is very important to the events at hand as well it’s really Majima who’s the star here. This game is an excuse to explore his character and it does not beat around the bush on that intention. If you are a fan of this franchise you really do have to experience this story. All too often prequel games just end up softening or weakening the existing narratives they’re trying to pay homage to or trying to strengthen but Yakuza 0 expertly dodges that bullet by never missing a beat in terms of quality relative to standard Yakuza entires. My only real issue with the story, honestly, is that Makoto is about as much of a McGuffin as she is a person. The game does take time to develop her both directly and indirectly but ultimately she spends about as much time just being a plot device to be ferried around by one man or another as she does getting to talk and do things.  The gameplay is very refined compared to other games in the seires, I would argue it’s tighter and more fun than Yakuza 6′s, even, if only due to the sheer variety of Heat Actions (effectively super moves; ranging from the silly to the bombastic to the brutal to a handful that made me shout ‘HOLY SHIT HE DIDN’T DESERVE THAT!!!’ at my TV) present in 0. If you like beat ‘em ups you’ll like Yakuza’s playstyle; each character gets 4 fighting styles earning three through the story and a fourth through side content. The fourth fighting style for each one is essentially a bonus, letting them fight in their ‘iconic’ styles, Dragon and Mad Dog respectively. To be honest they’re both underwhelming, Mad Dog is maybe Majima’s weakest fighting style and Dragon, while strong, requires a lot more heat than what it naturally builds to stay competent. The fighting styles are still fun though, they add plenty of new and unique options to each character to justify getting them, they’re just not going to win you the game for free or anything. Of the character’s main fighting styles the only real issue I have is the disparity in strength between them, both internally and between each other. No mincing words here, Majima is obscenely overpowered compared to Kiryu. Breaker Style annihilates every challenge in the game with next to no effort besides Mr. Shakedown fights, which aren’t really fun anyway. That said Slugger easily bashes in Mr. Shakedown and even Jo Amon. Majima will breeze through all of his content even on higher difficulties. Comparatively Kiryu can have a pretty rough time in some fights. This is due in part by his fighting styles being really well balanced internally, they’re all useful and thus the player may actually feel like swapping between them mid battle or between encounters. Kiryu not really having an overwhelming option generally means he can be very expressive, my fiancé and I played him very differently for instance on our runs. Whether you most enjoy his fast, invulnerability frame heavy, dash cancelling Rush style which takes a very high amount of investment to become good but I would argue is maybe his best style once you get it there, his brutish item swinging, semi-grappler Beast style which absolutely decimates indoors fights, or the more well rounded, heat action heavy Brawler Kiryu’s got something for everyone. Each of his styles also get a great variety of unique heat actions, all three to environmental cues, and Beast and Brawler to equip-able and overworld items. While Majima’s fighting style are also expressive and a ton of fun to use they just feel too safe and too easy compared to Kiryu. He gets absolutely stellar results and gets them quickly for extremely little effort in the ridiculously fast, low profile attacks of Breaker. Not to say Breaker isn’t fun, because it is, breakdancing to beat people up is hilarious and fun and its heat actions are flavorful to boot, it’s just really overpowered is all. After some investment his Ballerina With A Baseball Bat fighting style, Slugger, also becomes nigh impossible to challenge for the AI thanks to it losing its primary weakness of the bat bouncing off of walls it hits after you put only moderate investment into it. While the least varied of Majima’s styles in terms of heat actions, Slugger is great fun if you ever wanted a proper weapon based fighting style in Yakuza. It feels like what Shinada should have played like. Majima’s starting style, Thug, is a fun grappling and street brawling style that requires a lot of precision to use well and is very well suited to one on one fights should the player be so inclined to not opt for his better options. It makes use of baroque kicks, eye pokes, strangles, and back turns. It’s also Majima’s only style that can make use of non-baseball bat items for heat actions as well as most of his environmental heat actions, and Majima has some GREAT heat actions under these conditions, helping Thug keep a niche compared to the other styles. Honestly, if you like Tekken you’ll probably like Thug. These great fighting styles would be pointless if the game didn’t have fun enemies and situations to pit you against and thankfully it does. Its ‘dungeons’ are a lot of fun and some of the boss fights really stand out. Thanks to the sheer myriad of context based Heat Actions even just fighting the random mooks in the street stays fun for dozens of hours as you experiment to see how you can fuck up some chumps today. It’s deeply gratifying and a lot of fun. While the optional Mr. Shakedown fights are a chore, they are all optional besides the first one so there’s no real reason to bother with them unless you’re doing a 100% substory completion run or REALLY need to grind money in a game where money is already free. Some of the boss fights are a bit mediocre, too, but overall they’re good fun. I do think Yakuza 0 is at its strongest though when it’s making the player fight room after room of enemies, dozens at a time, and just letting them feel like an absolute champion while doing so, really letting them revel in just how strong and cool Majima and Kiryu are. Yakuza 0′s side content is both one of its greatest strengths and in my opinion an area where it shows the most weakness. While Pocket Circuit, Karaoke, Cabaret Club, and the Sub-Stories are absolutely excellent and I truly cannot stress enough how fun they are the game also has a myriad of seemingly half baked minigames based off of real life activities for you to do, a lot of which have unnecessary RNG. Even Bowling has RNG...BOWLING, come on! The Pool, Darts, Bowling, Catfight Club, and other such minigames feel very rushed in execution and for all but the last of those feel like poor simulations compared to other games I have played. Catfight Club is just a really, really, shameless and sexist ‘Watch almost naked women ‘’’’wrestle’’’’’. Also, opposite Majima’s deeply flavorful, engaging, well written, and fun club management minigame Club Sunshine, the aforementioned cabaret club, Kiryu gets Real Estate Royale. Which is about as fun as you think. It’s literally standing around waiting for money to grind for you and then going out and investing it into properties. While the storyline attached to it is decent enough and has some good moments for Kiryu the minigame itself is just dreadful and grossly slow paced. Which is funny to say, because I think it takes less time to complete than Cabaret Club, but it feels like A Lot Longer because it just isn’t fun. There’s the Telephone Club, which uhhh, you can have Kiryu do to get laid. It’s funny in a tongue in cheek way but it’s also not my cup of tea besides laughing at Kiryu’s great dialogue and body language during the interactions. Basically, play Karaoke to hear Kiryu’s beautiful singing voice and also THE ONLY GAME IN THE SERIES WHERE MAJIMA’S SINGING ISN’T JUST AWFUL SCREECHING! 24 Hour Cinderella is a gift to the world and you need to play it. Cabaret Club is also where the vast majority of this game’s female characters exist, as hostesses. While the game could take this opportunity to be sexist (and one could argue it is, for sure) the writing present in Cabaret Club for the platinum hostesses and their story lines is just as good as anything else from the game. They’re worth talking to, learning about, and seeing their development. In all honesty they can almost fittingly serve as a nice break from the game’s intense story, giving the player a breather with some whole and comedic interactions. The Sub-Stories which make up this game’s version of side quests (because yes, this is a Beat ‘Em Up Japanese Crime Drama RPG) are also basically all amazing. The writing is heartfelt, funny, and just really good. They all have strong opening hooks without forcing the player to immediately get involved and despite being 100 of them they’re basically all really memorable. This is also where the game pays Kiryu back a bit for his lost story content relative to Majima, giving him 60 of the 100 sub stories. They’re all great ways to get to see more aspects of these characters and the citizens of Kamurocho, please give a bunch of them a try if you play this game. I also briefly want to talk about the settings of the game, Kamurocho and Sotenbori. They’re literally just the real life Japanese districts, Kabukicho and Dotenbori by SLIGHLY different names. If you play this game enough you’ll know some real life actual locations in actual real life Japan like you’ve been there. You’ll be able to navigate at least a few square blocks of Japan without a map, it’s amazing, and it’s really something special compared to other games. Also, I’m not exaggerating, the overworld(s) of this game are only a few square blocks large but the game plays that to its advantage. Navigating from one side to another of either one takes a minute or two at most and the streets are always PACKED with content. It’s impossible to wander around playing naturally without falling ass backwards into a dozen or more of the game’s sidestories and inevitably getting sucked into playing a few of them and seeing how good they are. I love this game’s map, it’s so brilliant in its design by simply being true to a real life location. Yakuza 0 also sports stellar sound design. The sound effects are BEEFY, hitting things feels amazing and nothing sounds out of place or off beat. The bombastic, over the top hit sounds really sell Majima and Kiryu’s overwhelming power and it just makes every fight satisfying. The soundtrack similarly is good, and while much of the soundtrack isn’t what I would call listening music, the Karaoke selections, specifically Bake Mitai, sure are. I’m not really the kind of guy who can tell you why the sound design is good, it just is, trust me.
All in all, Yakuza 0 is a stellar game and is exemplary of both what a modern beat ‘em up AND a modern RPG should strive to be like. It is a masterpiece in its own right and I’m glad that its success in the western market has secured this unique, beautiful series a future. Please play Yakuza 0, it’s regularly on sale on both PS4 and Steam and it deserves your attention. If you’re ever alone on a Friday night, just remember these Yakuza, and you’ll have a great time.

Makoto closed her eyes when he spoke about Majima, shaking her head in weary agreement. It was difficult to focus on what he said above the typhoon of her thoughts, a hundred winds all howling in different directions. When she thought about it - really thought about it - she could see why Majima chose to do what he did, but just because she understood, it was no easier to swallow.
When Nishikiyama called her amazing, when he spoke of all that she had left to do, Makoto opened red eyes and looked up into his face again, curiously blank. “How can I possibly do any of that when all I am is this?” This time she couldn’t distract herself with the thought of others in the dark, and that came with a stab of self-loathing so intense that she dropped her face sharply away again.
“Nishikiyama... it’s already been taken from me. I came to Japan for one reason — two reasons, actually. The first being that I couldn’t bear another minute being treated like a... like.” Like a dog. “Like I didn’t belong in the only place I’d ever known. And second, to find my brother, and your- those men took him from me.” Her hands bunched into fists.
“So I don’t want,” she continued, every word dropping from her mouth like lead with a quiet tone more fury than sadness. “To be dramatic. But my only power has been in following other people and in losing them.” She dabbed at her eyes, shaking her head again in disgust, as though watching herself from the other side of the room. Was that it? Was it that she had nobody left to follow? Pathetic. She covered her face with her hands again, tissue pressed to her eyes, sniffling.

Every time she felt she’d wept her last, there were more tears. Makoto’s face creased behind her hands, frustrated with herself, and frustrated with the situation around her. “I’m n-.” She cut herself off as he left her side, pressing the heels of her hands into her eyes as if they could dam the flood. It was easy to feign strength when there was nobody around to see her like this. Perhaps it would have been better if they’d just left things as they had been at Serena, and then she wouldn’t have to feel so useless as Nishikiyama’s arm reached around her shoulders and pulled her nearer.
Shifting her weight to one side to place her hip directly beside Nishikiyama’s, the young woman forced out a trembling sigh, reaching to take the tissue from him with a sniff. “I just. Everything’s changed so quickly. And it keeps on changing.” The words were tinged with the same exhaustion which saw her shoulders slumping, weight resting just a little more against the man’s side as she rubbed irritably at her eyes.
“I don’t know what to do. I feel like there’s nothing left.” Voice cracking as she spoke, Makoto lifted her head to look up at him through the shade of her bangs, shaking her head just a little. “And I know it’s nobody’s problem but mine, and I know I have to figure it out. But I don’t know where to start and I am so… so tired.” Her voice grew smaller and smaller as she spoke, a fresh crop of tears escaping the damp tissue to stain her cheeks.
“Why would he fix this stupid watch if all he wanted to do was throw me away??”
Nishikiyama let her take the tissue, focusing on looking into her eyes and listening to her speak. He nodded in agreement, letting his other hand run gently up and down her arm, as if he were rubbing warmth into her, in an attempt to comfort her. “Yeah. It’s overwhelming,” he said, agreeing with her about the way things seemed to change.
He understood how she felt, anyway; it was a familiar sort of desperation. As she carried on crying, Nishikiyama was ready with another tissue, this time touching it directly, gently, to her cheek before handing it over. “Do you want my opinion?” he asked gently, squeezing her arm softly again. “I know you said, before, that you know he cares about you. So I won’t condescend to you about how that wasn’t what he wanted, or anything. Because ultimately that’s what he chose to do, and what he did. Right?”
Unsure if he was taking the right tactic, nonetheless he forged on. “He did that to you. But that isn’t what you’re worth. It’s not up to Majima to decide your value. And it’s not true that there’s nothing left, for you, even if there is nothing left for him of you.” He leaned in a little. “You’re an amazing person. You have so many amazing things left to accomplish. None of that was tied to that person; you already have a life for yourself outside of him. You aren’t useless. There are real people you’ve made a real, concrete difference for– and more people who need you, Makoto-chan, in the future. So it doesn’t matter in the slightest what he thinks. You already know who you are and where you’re going. I know you do, because you’ve told me. Pretty forcefully.”
There was that open admiration in his eyes again. “But… that doesn’t mean you have to do it all right now. It’s okay to be tired. It’s okay to be hurt. Just as long as you remember that he doesn’t have the power to take everything away from you. Just as long as you refuse to give him or anyone else that power. Because it’s yours.”

Hii! First of all you’re an amazing writer and thank you so much for all the content you give us! So i wanted to say, what if majimas s/o is very selfless and always helping majima out but sometimes you also need some comforting but his s/o thinks that majima has his own problems, shouldn’t burden him even more with their problems, so she keep bottling her feelings so one day majima wakes up in the middle of the night and finds his s/o sobbing quietly, just letting her feelings out.
Hi there anon, thank you so much for the kind words! 💙 Now let's delve into this angst...
The very first reaction on Majima's part is, without a doubt, panic. He thinks something must've happened - someone must've gotten kidnapped or murdered, maybe there's been a break-in, is she injured??
It would take some explaining, a pretty painful talk, for him to understand the cause of her breakdown. But once he does I think he's going to feel like... complete garbage. For being blind to her struggles, for taking her for granted, taking but never giving back... and for overall making her life miserable. And since he goes from hyperbole to hyperbole like this, in his head the most obvious solution is the classic one: leave. She's unhappy because of him, so the logical step is to remove the source of the pain.
He's not going to immediately walk out the door and never come back of course, not while she's in such a raw emotional state. But he knows he's gotta rip the band-aid off sooner than later, so he plans it all for the next day. The quicker he's gone, the sooner she can forget about him, move on and do better. Because she definitely deserves better than an inconsiderate asshole
But listen, if that's not her desired outcome... then they're both going to need an afternoon of real honestly, where they force themselves to open up and share all the feelings they've been hiding. I think they'll find a lot of common ground this way, since Majima too is very used to bottling things up, hiding behind layers and layers of dissimulation. And he's used to letting his guilt and self-loathing overshadow any efforts to stay and actually fix things, to give both her and his happiness a chance.
Maybe they got off on the wrong foot, more acting out the image of an emotionally healthy relationship, than actually living it. But maybe they can also move forward from here with renewed trust in each other and a deeper bond 💙
