I like that Yuma and Nagisa's weapons sort of match with their respective mentor/big sister figures, being a polearm and some sort of firearm.

Name: Yuma Chitose

Arcanas: Strength, Sun

Personas: Pistis, Thalassa

A young girl who desires nothing more than companionship. She clings to Kyoko and Nagisa due to their strength and is especially close to Kyoko due to her being protected by her when she was attacked by a shadow after her mother was killed by one. Yuma desperately desired to be useful to Kyoko and by extension, S.E.E.S. and decided to follow them into Tartarus. However, they weren’t aware of her following them and Yuma was accidentally left behind in Tartarus for a week. When S.E.E.S. realizes her location, they immediately rush into Tartarus to find her and where she awakens to her persona.

Due to her perceptive nature, she was always wary of Kyubey, the director of S.E.E.S. themselves and managed to escape him when he attempted to sacrifice S.E.E.S, teaming up with Homura to ambush him. After his defeat and resulting incarceration, Yuma helps the rest of the team with the aftermath. She eventually breaks down from the pressure of being the caretaker reveals to the team that her mother was abusive to her and the reason she’s so perceptive is to help predict her mother’s outbursts. She says she was worried that if she showed this kind of selfish attitude, they would abandon her. S.E.E.S. vehemently rejects this thought and assures her that no matter what, she belongs here. This causes her to awaken to her second persona.

PERSONAS

Obviously, Yuma’s first persona is Pistis, the spirit of good faith and reliability. Yuma desperately wants to be useful, with her faith in the others and being incredibly reliable. Like Lucia, Pistis is a navigational persona with Yuma being engulfed in both her personas within the bubbles they hold. Pistis’s main body is an artificial reef, where a coral reef grows upon man made objects. A reef is something that allows protection for all, no matter if they are predator or prey. Yuma is protective of the people around her and desires to help them all similar to a coral reef. The beings that surround her her axolotl like, ever young and able to regenerate. This fits her persona’s healing abilities.

After confronting her insecurities, Pistis becomes Thalassa. Thalassa is the personification of the seas, wielding both benevolence and great power. Yuma, despite her age has great potential and due to her own perceptive nature, managed to subvert a disaster. She has become much more confident in herself, with the smaller beings that surrounded Pistis becoming a giant sea dragon. She is now able to choose what she protects, and what she needs to protect people against.

Review: Mahou Shoujo Oriko★Magica

The second of the numerous spinoff comics of the hit anime Puella Magi Madoka Magica, Oriko Magica follows Kyoko Sakura as she kills yet another witch in Mitakihara City. Only this time, there’s a survivor, a young girl named Yuma. Against her better judgement, Kyoko takes Yuma under her wing, but someone is murdering magical girls, and there might be a larger plan than simple serial killing at work. . .

This is probably the best of the Madoka spinoffs up until this point chronologically. The villains has an interesting motivation and some cool powers and it’s fun to see a softer side of Kyoko and a bit more of Mami. And the ending captured the bittersweet nature of the setting well. Oriko also has much longer chapters than Madoka or Kazumi, allowing each scene more time to grow properly and things to feel less harried.

The great bones of the story, however, have a shaky covering. I almost didn’t pick this one up at all after seeing the cover, which gives off mid-2000s “How to Draw Manga” vibes, and while the art inside is somewhat better, it’s still far from good. Similarly, while the fight scene choreography that I’ve complained about in previous Madoka adaptations has improved, it was still confusing enough that I found myself having to read each page a few times to understand what was going on.

Worst, however, is that plot points revealed near the end of the story make the entire thing feel pointless and inevitable, and not in a way that seems to emphasize theme or character. The story, it seems, just doesn’t matter.

In the end, while this one is quite enjoyable for fans of Madoka Magica looking to see more of the universe, it’s ultimately a forgettable side-story that doesn’t add much beyond a few cool magical girl designs and backstories.

Warnings: Oriko Magica features themes of slavery, suicide and child exploitation, as well as relatively bloody violence and the deaths of several teens, albeit all downplayed in comparison to its parent series. There is also a subplot that deals with parental abuse of a child, although only the aftermath is shown.

So, finally, I'll show the last batch of my manga collection. This is the complete section.

Hoshi no Samidare is amazing. One of my favorite mangas ever. An amazing and emotive history with a group of lovable characters that you want to see success. Don't go near the anime tho.

Death Note, All-in-On Edition. A classic in every way. Death Note is a must read for every manga fan.

The Haruhi Suzumiya series, plus The Celebration of Haruhi anthology manga. My favorite series of light novels. I met Haruhi with the 2006 anime and it became an instant obsession for me. The anime that make me an anime fan. The Disappearance is my favorite novel, and the movie adaptation is my favorite movie ever.

Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica, omnibus edition, Mahou Shoujo Oriko Magica, plus Extra Story and Sadness Prayer. I'm huge on Madoka, I think is one of the most amazing animes ever, and I got really into the spin-offs. Oriko may be my favorite of those.

The rest of my Madoka collection includes, The Different Story, Homura's Revenge! and Wraith Arc. I hope I can get more of the spin-offs at some point. Fun fact, in my fic Life with May and June, chapter 3, the kids watch Madoka, but in the Ducktales world, is called Madoquack. Also, don't go near Magia Record. Is awful.

Mahou Sensei Negima!. My crown jewel. My favorite manga ever. Is a fun, action-pack, romantic comedy full of amazing characters. The School Festival is my favorite manga arc ever. It was perfection.

The Negima collection is completed with Negiho, a little spin-off, not that memorable. The Bible, the Negima guide book, only in japanese. And UQ Holder volume 15. Why volume 15? UQ is kinda a sequel, kinda a spin-off of Negima. I didn't like it. But, volume 15 has the real ending of the main Negima timeline. And is awesome.

With this batch, I finished to show you guys my manga collection. Next time, is comic time.

So many people asked me to show my manga and comic collection (that's a lie, only @y0ru42 did) (Hi @y0ru42!).

Anyway, I'm going to show you guys. I don't want to do a long, long post, so I go by parts. I'll start with my spanish edition mangas.

First, Love Hina Deluxe Edition, complete. Classic comedy and romance manga, really funny, with just the right bit of fan service.

Medaka Box, complete. This one is weird and cool, but that's understandable since is from the guy who wrote the Monogatari Series.

Girls und Panzer, and Girls und Panzer: Little Army, complete. I love Girls und Panzer, is such amazing show, and the manga is just as fun. The third volume is in english, I never found it in spanish. It is better to have the collection in two languages ​​than incomplete.

I really hope Little Army II, Saga of Pravda and Ribbon Warrior get licensed at some point.

Little Witch Academia, complete, plus the novel, The Nonsensical Witch. Other serie that I love. Little Witch Academia trapped me forever with the 2017 anime. The art of the manga is gorgeous. The novel is in english.

Someday's Dreamers is a weird one. I was at a super market, and I found both books at a really cheap price. I check it, and when I confirm that they were the only two volumes, I bought it. Is cute.

I'm a big fan of the Zelda franchise. When I had the opportunity to get my hands on a large set of Zelda mangas, I didn't hesitate for a second.

Twilight Princess is the only one I couldn't get complete. I'm still 7 volumes short. I hope I can get them at some point.

Well, that was the first group. I'll return with the english edition mangas at some other point.
