i hoped you enjoyed the new fjm album! i feel like the ironic lyricism and references resemble pure comedy with some new themes :0 ‘being you’ was so good and different from a lot of his other songs imo which i kinda loved😆😆

I have to give it a no distraction listen to get the lyrics, but I just listened to all of it on my way to teach my fourth graders lol so I was more focused on driving than lyrics

LOVED IT. Josh put his whole Father John Mistussy into this one. Being You is easily my favorite song on the album and it might be my new favorite FJM song in general 🙈 I also looooved Josh Tillman and the Accidental Dose, She Cleans Up, and IGTJMFOUA. I wasn’t the biggest fan of Screamland at first because it sounded like worship music to me but you know what else sounds like worship music? Bo Burnham’s All Eyes On Me. And that song fucks, but FJM fucks harder.

I felt like I heard a lot of Beck inspiration in this album. Like so many sounds I could have found on Sea Change, if you’re familiar with that album! It’s one of my favorites. So fucking good. I also feel like I heard some LCD Soundsystem sounds too, especially in She Cleans Up. And I looooooove that and I love LCD Soundsystem! Good shit. This album was good shit. I’ll be listening on repeat 🔁
