Here’s my take on the riordanverse timeline. I did my best but I guarantee that I messed up somewhere.

Alex Fierro isn’t from Percy Jackson but from Magus Chase although I do think it’s a good thing to tag it too since a lot of people just look at that tag for the whole riordanverse actually
Oops, sorry about that! One of the submissions I got said "Magnus Chase and the Gods of Asgard" and another said "Percy Jackson" so I just went with that because I thought they were part of the same series lol. I can't edit the post because it's a poll sadly, but when I recap after it's finished I'll make sure I get it right there! Thanks for letting me know :)

Gallory (Gunilla/Mallory) Couple Headcanons
a lot of their dates are just training sessions but they kiss the other to distract them and win
that homoerotic sword fight where the victor lifts up the loser’s chin with their blade and the tension is so thick and they’re just gazing at eachother? you got it
except with hammers and knives
they originally bonded over weapons and being annoyed by the men in valhalla
mallory is one of the only people that gunilla really talked about her trauma with
in turn gunilla is the only one mallory really opens up to about her past and religious trauma apart from her hallmates
tj and halfborn have a bet going on how long it’ll take for them to get to gether except they’re already a thing and they are just oblivious as hell
they straight up see gunilla leaving mallory’s room in the morning and are like “such good friends” and it takes them to walking in on them making out by accident for tj to win the bet
mallory and gunilla do “get help” on the battlefield but more stabby
when gunilla’s had an exhausting day as thane and captain of the valkyries she goes and gets cuddles from mallory
mallory is the big spoon i make the rules here
feel free to add!

A few things I think we all forget about in the riordanverse
Sadie is in a cannon polygamous relationship with Walt and Anubis
Walt's family has been cursed since ancient times to die at a young age (ie around 18) so that means he comes from a very, *very* long line of teen parents
Alex's father's ideal type is red hair and curvy
Due to the last one, I headcanon that Loki seduced Mr. Fierro while cosplaying as Jessica Rabbit. Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk

Introduction
Greetings, Riordanverse fandom! I am a newcomer to your ranks. I was in high school when the Percy Jackson books started, and the fact that my much-younger brother liked them made me decide that they were too kiddie for me. Well, now I’m a full-fledged adult(olescent) who regularly reads middle-grade novels for fun, so I decided to finally give this series a chance. And what the heck, I’m also going to blog about them, chapter by chapter, for the internet’s amusement.
(Did I steal the basic concept from @wtfanimorphs and simply apply it to another series? Yes, but I swear that it was unconscious at first.)
At the time that I’m writing this I’ve already finished The Lightning Thief, though upcoming posts will largely be a recreation of my thoughts as they happened. I also know a lot of disconnected spoilers from TVTropes or poking around too much on the Riordan Wiki, but I’m gonna try to forget those. For the most part, this blog will be your favorite books filtered through a newcomer’s eyes.
Side note: I also saw the first movie many years back. My brother insisted that it was so bad that I didn’t need to read the books to appreciate how awful it was. I actually thought that it was fine on its own merits---not great, but not terrible---though I understand being annoyed when they strayed from the source material. This is why you should go for the subpar adaptations first.
Tumblr media
"That trailer looked pretty cool,” said people who have never read the book.
Anyway, this blog will be a mix of review, literary analysis and many unfunny jokes. And let’s be clear---I know that a lot of people grew up loving these stories, but I am snarky, hypercritical and have no such nostalgia goggles. I only gave The Lightning Thief 3/5 stars on Goodreads. There were parts that I liked and parts that really annoyed me, so do not proceed if you don’t want to see them criticized.
Updates will come about once per week, at least to start. I bought the box set of the whole Percy Jackson and the Olympians series, plus Percy Jackson’s Greek Gods; assuming that I get through those without hating them, my brother also owns two of the Kane Chronicles and three Heroes of Olympus books that I can borrow. Given how much Rick Riordan milks this franchise, I daresay that I’ll be busy for a while.
So if you’re interested, please proceed to my review of The Lightning Thief, chapter one.

THEORY
I have this theory that rick is going to make a serious with all the gods and stuff for something big. Like its hard to explain but when he did the cross over mini-sories between the Kane Chrobicles and PJO I felt like there had to be more to go on, and then the Connection between Magnus and Annebeth. I know he means it to be the same universe so of course there's going to be little hints of the other series's in there. But like a huge connection between Magus Chase from the Norse Series and Annebeth from the original Greek one as cousins is too big to be "whoops stumbled across another section of gods" Idk what would be going through his head but I have a theory that after he finishes Gods of Asgard and Trials of Apollo he's going to do one big series where all of them have to work together or they're fighting and the demigods of the different places need to handle it I have no clue but it's this ridiculous theory I have

Hi Kai! It's great to meet you! What's your favorite movie or book? (bonus points if it has awesome MOGAI representation :3)
Oh boy... don’t laugh. I’m super fond of Rick Riordan books. They’re just so diverse? Especially Magus Chase and the Gods of Asgard. One of the main characters is a Hijabi girl and one is a Trans girl and they’re half sisters and it’s so wonderful? And I’m pretty sure the main character might be bi? It just makes me so happy
