"I wanted to comment on your two-part appearance on WMIT (if anyone's curious, see the podcasts channel in this server for links). I had to go on a long road trip and binged the whole thing over the course of three days. You really answered a lot of questions I had about astrology in general. I began a daily practice in early 2020, and instead of researching astrology, I started a journal of notable events, moods and relationship dynamics, making a note of the moon phase for each, as well as any other planetary alignments that happened to appear in my social feed. In other words, I wanted to learn astrology the long way: by tracking my life events in the context of the seasons. Fast forward to last week, when I listened to your episodes: I was pleasantly surprised to hear a LOT of reinforcements of the things I theorized about and intuited over the last 4 years! Especially the rulers of the day, those are spot on for me. As an Aquarian I tend to treat the calendar's authority with only a casual respect, but your crash course (and your other online resources) inspired me to level up a bit, keep a close eye on the relationship between time and space, and take advantage of open (and rapidly closing) windows. Daily Draw - 29/4/23 - Sacred Rebels Oracle (Alana Fairchild)

1 -After The Storm

It's been a high pain, low spoons kind of day ngl, so my energy for writing a lot about this card is perhaps optimistic. I have drawn this one before, though my mind cannot bring to mind what it's signifying. It does feel resonant though after two good days, to hit a bad day, and just feel wrecked.

I have, though, been thinking a lot about where my path is going and what I should be focusing on. For a while now, I've been working through Cyndi Brannen's Keeping Her Keys book through the Covina, bc it gave me the motivation to keep working through it and I have actually been able to finish the book while getting a better insight into what the Covina does and how it works. And tbh, it's not for me. Not in a, 'oh no this is a bad place' kind of way. Just, what they're doing isn't what I need to be doing, or have any desire to focus on. I've learned all I can from there, and now I'm going out on my own again. Maybe one day I'll find a good Hekatean community but I'll be okay on my own. I'm used to it.

I know I want to focus on plants more, though. And my oathbound magical work. And sometimes you need to leave something behind in order to move forward. Indeed, during meditation tonight, Hekate handed me a key, a key specifically to lock the door behind me. bc sometimes you need to do that. She also placed a crown on my head and reminded me of my sovereignty.

And that right there is how I feel rn. Covina was fun. It taught me a lot of things. And it taught me a lot about how I don't want my Hekatean practice to look like or focus on. I like what they're doing there, but it's not for me. And that's okay. Now that I know that, I can take what I learned and apply that to what I want to do now. That's how you learn and grow, after all.

All the ghosts know Danny is a baby ghost and so come to give him enrichment (not that they tell him that). Skulker is a little overzealous about teaching the baby how to hunt. Even the Ancients Undergrowth, Nocturne, etc become involved after hearing just how powerful the new ghost is (though he still is nowhere near their actual level). Undergrowth is a little salty about the fact that the baby gained Ice powers during their playing. However, Vlad doesn’t follow the rules and when Pariah Dark happened all the ghosts were astounded when the baby actually beat him without ghostly aid. Suddenly the baby is the new prince and they are panicking because a baby should NOT be ruling! Danny suddenly learns a lot of truths and did not need the pressure of future kinghood please and thank you. He also doesn’t like the sudden fussing. Yes the food from Lunch Lady is nice (he’s never been healthier really) but he’s getting a bit overwhelmed by the 180 change in attitude.
