I haven't posted much art lately. So here's a test concept for a more anthomorphic looking dragon design for Thomas! Design notes below the cut!

For a while, I wasn't sure if I wanted to characters to walk on all fours or two legs. So I decided to see what it would look like with two. I was strongly inspired by old Disney animation and Don Bluth films for this concept. I have to say I really like it! I might have the characters alternate between four and two legs, depending on what the situation calls for. I also have a design for Diesel 10 AND Lady in the works!

Anyways, hope you all like it. I was a little shy about posting it. It's not final or anything.😅

I need D10 and Lady to have a crazy ass fight ok. I need violence between them I need them to be and unfair and I need them to BOTH be in the wrong and suffer the consequences of what they have reaped upon themselves after hiding it for years and years and years and the reasons why they did it are so fucked up and yet you can see why they did what they did you know.

"She deserved it" D-10 <- extremely insecure and takes out his bottled up anger on those who have better lives than him or those who he thinks are lesser than him due to undressed mental problems and does not confront what he has done because he fully believes he has the right even though he really doesn't because none cared and they never ever cared about his class they never did. To have your name stripped and everything you know taken away from you is an anger that cannot be fathomed. And while she may have done irreparable things she never held violence upon you. Your anger is justified but you took it to far and now you're fearful and it only makes it worse for everyone of class type. You have failed your brothers and your sisters and you know it is your fault but they don't know that. They don't know anything. As long as you don't get caught your fine. Your safe and your fine. If you get caught you are dead.

"I was defending myself I didn't mean to get out of hand" Lady <- not lying about but you almost killed him when he begged you to stop and found some sick twisted enjoyment in it and the guilt is eating away at you so heavily that you hide like a coward and do not confront what you have done because you know it will make you look bad and your saving face so you don't get thrown in the scrapyard with the rest of them you couldn't save because you were to busy relishing in the attention that came with being worshipped like a god. and now all you feel is regret and you know nothing will make this right and so you try to wipe away anyone and anything to uphold your reputation and if it means putting fear into those so they stay silent you will do it even if you have to bear the guilt because anything is better than getting caught. Anything is better than not being worshipped anymore.

And in the end all both you have is each other because you both dug your shared grave without realizing it and now that the tarp has been revealed there is no going back to once was and nothing can justify what you have done in the name of your own reputations survival

The way you wrote Diesel 10 in the latest chapter of Yellow Rose is giving me serious Original Trilogy Palpatine vibes and I love that!

I’m so glad you love him because he’s going to be such a doozy of a character. I draw inspiration from Davy Jones for him actually, but I love freaking original Palpatine and now you’re giving me ideas. I’m introducing my kids to the original trilogy right now.

So, with Diesel 10 I wanted him to be so much more a villain. When I read that he was supposed to reappear in the series and be the main antagonist but they cut him because he was too scary for kids I ran with that. I cannot reveal much, unfortunately, but I want to make him a true villain which means not just the blatant “oh I’m just racist because I’m a diesel and steam engines are outmoded” kind of thing. I want him to be scary. I want him to be full of rage and hatred, but I also want a backstory, which I’ve written, that explains why. Cause like, clearly, Diesel’s are beloved elsewhere so why is he so dead set about Sodor.

Originally I bounced around several villains that I’ve learned to love: Thanos, Loki, Moriarity from the Sherlock series, Darth Vader, Scar, and a few others.

In the end, although not the same backstory, I have chosen both Scar and Davy Jones. I like their personalities, but I definitely don’t see him having Scar’s weaknesses. I even briefly thought of Azula from Avatar The Last Airbender (séries not the ‘movie’), some of the homunculi from FMA, William Afton from the FNAF series, and a few others but in the end Scar’s calculating attitude and Davy Jones demeanor formed him. He wasn’t just a thug leader anymore he was the head honcho and he was dangerous. He’s learned things and grew, although not in the best way.

Diesel 10 is gonna be a trip. I am so glad you’ve liked him, gift anon. He’s a character you’re going to love and hate all the same, I hope.

Broke: Diesel 10 is a crazy, megalomaniacal villain, who cares about no one.

Woke: Diesel 10 is more or less, the leader or "Gordon" type figure of the Sodor Diesels. And uses unfortunately more unconventional methods to make sure his kind are safe, protected, and loved.

Bespoke: Gordon and Diesel 10 fight over custody of Philip. As a result, he spends half his time at the Diesel Works, and half his time at Tidmouth Sheds.😂

(None of this is meant to be taken seriously. This is just silly posting. Lol. For context, in my headcanon, Gordon and Philip have a father/son relationship.)

Thinking about D10 being run down by scrappers after being exiled out of sodor, and in a last ditch attempt, flees to sodor for refuge. >:]

He's flying down the tracks of the mainland at dangerously high speeds flying past Gordon on his take back of the morning express with a flash of mustard. a look of surprise turns to horror as he sees seven other frames of burgundy race down the tracks. the gaggle of newer modern diesels chase him like a pack of wild rabid dogs, cackling with a sick joy. There deep red paint shines off of them in a mocking manner.

He's almost there. Hes almost at the bridge that leads to the island, wheels spinning so fast sparks of flame rush out from under him, the smell of melting metal heavy in the air. He can't go on for much longer. They all know that.

The pain in his body is agonizing as pinchy snaps wildly, trying to keep them as far back as possible. He's wheezing like all the air is squeezed out of him, trying to keep distance. They've been going like this for a half an hour, and he's not sure he can take anymore before something gives.

The Atlantic races off with the empty express towards the station. The coach's don't complain about him being to fast. Not this time. They might not be fast enough.
