Hey everyone! I promised more content, but I got addicted to not updating this blog. I’m already getting DANGEROUSLY CLOSE to treating my new ADULT SWIM BLOG with the same disdain as I do this one. The Longest Daycare premiered in theaters in 2012, shown before one of those Ice Age movies. You ever see those things? the parts with the little squirrel guy are really good. I saw it as part of those Oscar Nominated Shorts programs. I wish I could remember what the other shorts were like, at all, because I’m trying very hard to delay actually talking about this one. Maggie goes to an Ayn Rand inspired daycare, just like in that one season 4 episode. Here she has a run in with some dude. I mean, the one-eyebrow baby. I’m sorry I said “some dude” it sounded like something really bad was going to happen to Maggie! Anyway, the full-grown sexual predator that Maggie has a show-down with keeps trying to kill a butterfly but Maggie wants to be nice to the butterfly. Does she succeed in not getting her throat slit and her lifeless body get used for deranged sexual crimes, perpetrated by Barney, Homer’s best friend whom he trusted Maggie’s safety with??? I don’t know. Anyway, this short is okay I guess but I didn’t particularly enjoy revisiting it.

Brief Review: Playdate with Destiny (2020)

Rated the film 2.5 stars out of 5. Now with Disney owning The Simpsons, a short film based off the long-running show released theatrically with a feature-length product (Onward, in this case) seemed inevitable. Unfortunately, despite the great choice of focusing on cute Maggie for the 5-minute runtime, the overall product is standard at best. The creation of a potential romantic relationship that parodies several Hollywood romances might be superficially enjoyable (and it decently is), but Maggie’s still a bit too young for this type of situation, so it doesn’t quite balance the entertainment with realism. Granted, the most recent season of The Simpsons cleverly followed the short film with an episode (Season 31, Episode 18) that related to it soon after the theatrical release, but the continued story did not add anything more. Rather, the writers disappointingly chose to discontinue the subplot for future use, and the episode itself (including both the ‘A’ and the ‘B’ plots) was nowhere near one of the best of the season (see recent blog review in May). He repeatedly denied that massive hacking attacks from Russia sought to influence the outcome of the 2016 by targeting his rival Hillary Clinton.

But then, in a surprise twist, his chief of staff Reince Priebus told Fox News that Mr Trump now accepted "the fact".

Mr Priebus said Mr Trump planned to order the intelligence community to make recommendations as to what should be done.

A former senior CIA official said the visit was a "good gesture", but others said it might take time to forgive and forget.

"A single visit with some nice words will not outweigh prior attacks and insults," said Paul Pillar, a former top US intelligence analyst on the Middle East. Phone calls to world leaders

Mr Trump also spoke to Mexico's President Enrique Pena Nieto and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau by phone during the day.

A Streetcar Named Marge Season 4 - Episode 2 | October 1, 1992 Season 4 baby! YEAS! It just keeps going! HELL YES. Okay, in this one Marge tries out for a local production that’s a musical version of Streetcar Named Desire. Jon Lovitz plays both the director of the play and his sister, who runs an Ayn Rand type daycare where Maggie winds up. It seems like it’s kinda the basis for the short LONGEST DAYCARE. Hey, did you hear they made another one of those Maggie Simpson shorts? I guess I should see it when there isn’t a global pandemic going on (I’m very ahead in my writing of these so here’s hoping we’ve either got this thing licked before this publishes or half the population dies and everyone is just permanently wearing face masks and enjoying lighter traffic). This is a pretty nice one. Homer is a jerk and feels bad about it a little. That’s nice. This has the line where Bart asked if there was a jive-talking robot in the play, and I remembered that in high school I stole that line: I was in play and we were allowed to write our own bios in the program and I said that I was playing a jive-talking robot who brings Kevin Spacey back to life in American Beauty 2: Trouble in Jamaica; OH! ”Trouble in Jamaica” I stole from the audio commentary of Cannibal the Musical. I think I am just a really bad joke thief, damn. Oh well, I WAS in high school. So anyway, I remember my mom having to explain that it was a joke to at least two moms, who took it at face value that I was in a movie. THE B-SODE:

Animaniacs: "A Method to Her Madness" Season 3 - Episode 5D | September 30, 1995 In this one, Sleepy Squirrel takes a method acting class or something and there’s a Marlon Brando guy and they do Streetcar lines. I don’t know man I was just googling Sherri Stoner instead of actually watching this because she’s the voice of Slappy and it’s a really good voice! And it turns out she was the visual reference for Ariel when they were making The Little Mermaid. So if you google her there’s a lot of cute pictures of her acting like a retarded mermaid on land. Okay actually I’m just gonna use one of those pictures instead of the screenshot of Animaniacs. ENJOY!
