The article by Richard Johnson on "The Armory Life" explores the history and significance of the Martin PBM Mariner, a versatile twin-engine flying boat used by the U.S. Navy in World War II and the Korean War. Known for its role in anti-submarine patrols and transporting supplies, the PBM Mariner could carry up to twelve 50-caliber machine guns and substantial bomb loads, significantly contributing to naval warfare. Johnson recounts the harrowing experiences of flight engineers like Herbert “Johnny” Johnson and highlights the aircraft's unique capabilities, such as being able to take off and land on water and utilize Jet-Assisted Take-Off (JATO) canisters. The article also notes the PBM's use in Dumbo missions, rescuing stranded pilots, and its deployment by various Allied countries, emphasizing its pivotal contributions to military operations over decades.

Sunderland's Royal Jewel Vault (40/∞) ♛
↬ Queen Irene's Ruby & Diamond Tiara or The Danish Ruby Tiara
In 1975 Queen Irene acquired a ruby tiara to coordinate with the suite of rubies given to her by King James II in 1968. The tiara already had a history within the family: having originally belonged to Princess Thyra of Denmark, a daughter-in-law of King George I through her marriage to his youngest son: Prince Arthur, Duke of Albion. The tiara was passed down to Thyra’s daughter-in-law, Lady Madeline Sunningdale, who eventually sold the tiara to Irene for an unknown price. The reason for the sale is unknown, but many speculate it had something to do with the cumbersome inheritance tax the Albion family was straddled with following Prince Arthur’s death. Since then, the Queen has worn this piece fairly frequently from the ’80s until the early 2010s, last wearing it in 2012. Creation: 1897 by Danish jeweller A. Michelsen, later remodelled by Albemarle in 1976 Provenance: 1) Princess Thyra, Duchess of Albion née Princess Thyra of Denmark 2) Madeline, Duchess of Albion née Lady Madeline Sunningdale 3) Queen Irene of Sunderland née Lady Irene Wynn Commissioned/Purchased by: Frederick VIII of Denmark Status: Currently worn by Queen Irene of Sunderland

TV Show - The Fall of the House of Usher VIII
Madness has now completely consumed Roderick, and we finally get an answer to a previously asked question: Is Lenore also one of the Usher children, and must she share the same fate?
People are falling from the sky as a symbolic representation of the Usher family’s, or more specifically Roderick Usher’s, deeds. It’s a drastic image that, in my opinion, is not without significance. Especially since it’s not just a brief shot—it goes on for quite a while, and we even see the bodies pile up. It’s practically the prelude to the meeting with Auguste Dupin.
As we see all the already deceased children appear, Lenore is among them as well. Thus, all of the Usher children are gone, and now we finally understand why. We also finally learn what happened on New Year's Eve in 1979! (I always chuckle a bit here, since 1979 is my birth year.) Even though we’ve already been given a grim picture of the Ushers, this image gets filled in with even more gruesome details. Madeline and Roderick are bolder and more ruthless than we ever imagined. And yes, they will stop at nothing, even murder, and we learn who the first victim is and how they met their horrifying end.
But before that happens, Lenore and her mother are saved, as they call the police. Before Lenore passes away, Verna reveals to her that her mother will live a peaceful life and that all the money she inherits will be invested in a foundation named after her.
Before Roderick’s conversation with Auguste, Pym and Madeline also meet with Verna at the Usher house. Madeline is forced to realize in a very intense way that perhaps she’s not as tough as she has always appeared to be. The timelines blur a little here, but she meets with Roderick in the basement once again, and something horrific happens. Roderick drugs her, removes her eyes, and replaces them with stones, just like in an ancient Egyptian ritual.
In a conversation with Pym, Verna speaks about a client and the deal made with them. Due to certain searches and which search results my post might appear in, I won’t go into detail here. However, this is another critique the series beautifully wraps up and throws right in our faces. Could Verna actually be the Devil himself? Pym’s question about whether this client will soon get their comeuppance remains unanswered. But who knows? Maybe it will happen soon!
Could there have been a better choice for Pym than Mark Hamill? I don’t think so! And here’s a provocative question about Pym: Could he be the only honest and upright person among all these other characters, who have clearly stared into the abyss, as Nietzsche described, for too long and too deeply? But it’s not just about the abyss—it’s also about the struggle with monsters and not becoming one yourself, which fits perfectly, in my opinion. However, this is a question the series doesn’t answer, leaving it up to each viewer to form their own conclusion based on what’s shown.
In the end, it’s undeniable, especially after Madeline’s monologue, that the series also serves as a critique of society. I’ll definitely have to check whether a similar critique is hidden in the original short story that inspired the title.
It’s interesting how the house in which Auguste and Roderick have been staying all this time metaphorically represents the titular “House of Usher,” and it too crumbles into dust and ashes, just like the entire family. Before that, we see Madeline rushing up from the basement to strangle Roderick. The previously mentioned ritual, which was only hinted at, is now visually confirmed. It’s horrifying, but after everything the series has shown us, perhaps this is a fitting end for the Usher siblings. But was that the point of it all?
Although he’s only a peripheral character, I find it quite satisfying that Auguste Dupin seems to find peace in the end. At the Usher family grave, he closes the chapter, as his case no longer makes sense, and Roderick’s confession is now irrelevant. He talks about how he wants to spend the next phase of his life with his partner—a very pleasant conclusion!
The Fall of the House of Usher, what a series. The casting, the settings, and even the use of CGI have all gone the extra mile. More effort was put in, rather than just settling for an average series. And the connections to the works of Edgar Allan Poe—there’s a lot of research involved, otherwise, the real fans would call you out, but I haven’t seen any backlash.
Even the recitations of the works—while I can’t claim to have understood all of them—are always delivered at the right moments by the respective characters. And I have to give a shoutout to the German dubbing team. Even though I can’t verify the accuracy of the translations, they clearly paid attention to ensuring that the voices carried the proper weight.
Reflecting on all these connections in a post is going to take some time. There are quite a few stories I want to revisit, and I want to do it properly. I’ve seen that the Wikipedia article on the series already lists some, but I’d like to refresh my memory with the stories, especially those that share titles with the individual episodes.
I wholeheartedly recommend The Fall of the House of Usher. It’s a series in which you can truly immerse yourself, especially with all the previously mentioned connections. But even if you don’t care about those, the series still leaves a lasting impression. There’s plenty to reflect on, to discuss, and perhaps even to rewatch. In the end, however, that’s for each viewer to decide, and the series gives you that freedom. Maybe that’s why I like it so much. If you just want to enjoy it and be entertained, great. But if you want to take a deep dive like I am, the series offers that too. It’s wonderful that such content is still being made. But I’ll save my Hollywood criticism for another time.
Picture of my Deep Dive! (Can't wait to read the book about Arthur Gordon Pym!)

No good deed goes unpunished IV
*Comes out from her cave as if it had been here the whole time*
This was one of the first chapters I wrote for this fic. I'm so excited to finally share it. The GIF I used here, was the inspiration for the events I wrote about.
Just ignore the fact that I published the VIII chapter and I didn't make a post.
I'm so excited about this one that I want to share a few extra things I did while writing, that don't show up in the chapter. It contains spoilers, so look for it later or at your own risk.
First I have to say that I learned A LOT of names from medical stuff in English by doing the translation. That was awesome!
But what I wanted to talk about here was that sometimes I get obsessed with research for my stories, sometimes I even waste all my free time on it without writing anything. And sometimes not even half of it ends up in the story. This said, I did A LOT of research for this one, to try and make it right.
Like, when I decided that Patterson would end up in Port Alberni. The first thing I did was to go around the city with the street view mode of Google Maps, just to get to know how it was and to have a more accurate idea of what Patterson would see from the hospital window.
Then, my goal was to make it unclear where she escaped from, so Patterson is told she walked from Parksville, which is part of Madeline's deception. According to Google Maps, it would take approximately 9hs 54 minutes to walk that distance.
But she wasn't in a city when escaped, but out in the woods. My next steps were to find at least two other places that had a similar distance to walk but weren't cities.
After a few hours, and thinking about changing the city Patterson ends up in, I found two options: Rosewall Creek Provincial Park and Clayoquot Plateau Provincial Park. (Minuto más, minuto menos)
Like, she didn't need to be exactly in those places, but it helped me to picture what she had seen on the road while walking in the snow.
Something that I find curious is that this last distance, which Google stipulates would take 10h 42 minutes of walking, would take only 48 minutes in a car.
Anyway, to finish this self-exposure of how obsessive I can be, another two things I Googled were the date of the first snow in British Columbia, and the sunlight hours there. This is to get a rough idea of the light according to the hours I imagined the different scenes, and the time of the year this is happening. It may be important for future chapters.
I Googled a few more stuff, but it doesn't matter, you get the point.
Thanks for reading 🧡

after "leaves"
years do odd things to identity. what does it mean to say i am that child in the photograph at kishamish in 1935? might as well say i am the shadow of a leaf of the acacia tree felled seventy years ago moving on the page the child reads. might as well say i am the words she read or the words I wrote in other years, flicker of shade and sunlight as the wind moves through the leaves.

Ancestral 8
There were two more visitors after that. The Speaker for the Assembly, a woman whose popularity had been derived from her position as poet laureate many years before, and Father Gylefa, who wasn’t quite the head of the rather informal Church of Avlynys. Like Matthew, they wanted to go over coordination and what, exactly, would be said.
“Are you sure you want to do this before Alicia gets here?” asked Father Gylefa, tugging at his cross-and-eye necklace in a familiar nervous gesture.
Matthew gave him a long-suffering look.
Father Gylefa raised his hands. “It would be a reasonable excuse. I stand by what I said about you needing time to process.”
“The country can’t afford it,” said the Speaker. “We only stayed out of the economic crisis the Faroes are having by the skin of our teeth and the efforts of the School of Heroes.” She curled her lip. “And I just heard from the First Shadow that we have some billionaire tech mogul trying to bully his way through the flight lockdown.”
Danny felt his stomach drop. Vlad. Couldn’t he mind his own business for five minutes? The list of things that Danny didn’t want was very, very long at this point, but he had the impression that Vlad coming to Avlynys would be explosive one way or another.
(Especially given that harassing a princess was technically still on the books as a capital offense.)
The Speaker looked apologetic, but she continued. “We need a king. Or a queen. And a Secretary, which we can’t elect without a monarch. I’m a legislator and advisor, I’m not supposed to be directly receiving spy reports.”
“I know,” said Matthew. “God and all those gone before help me, but I know.”
Father Gylefa patted his shoulder, then looked past him at Danny and Jazz. “Ah,” he said, “it has been a while, Danny, Jazz. You’ve grown.” His expression grew a touch colder. “Madeline.” Then, frostier still. “Mr. Fenton.”
The Church of Avlynys came into being when, upon being given the cover of Henry VIII’s founding of the Church of England, the entire archipelago leapt gleefully into open heresy. As such, in addition to being only loosely organized, it was also distinctly heterodox… and had been a staunch opponent of witch trials.
That wasn’t to say it didn’t have problems and had never, ever, participated in any form of religious oppression (it had, sadly). But it could pull out a very plausible moral high ground now and again.
No one in the family had really approved of Maddie marrying Jack, a ghost hunter. The extensive background check turning up witch hunters in the family tree hadn’t helped.
Most of the family had… lost some of their hostility towards Jack over time. Father Gylefa hadn’t.
And, unlike the situation with Vlad, Jack was very aware of it.
“Mr. Gylefa,” replied Jack with the exact same intonation.
“Haha, yeah,” said Danny. “That’s us, just shooting up. Maybe we’ll beat the family height record, yeah?”
One of their medieval ancestors was supposed to have been seven feet tall, so… that was unlikely. But Danny wasn’t sure what else to say.
The Speaker sighed. “I’ll go get things started. It won’t be long before we call for you, your highnesses, lords and ladies, Mr. Fenton.”
Jack watched her go with an expression of resigned offense. From there, Father Gylefa made small talk with the rest of the family while Matthew fretted, Maddie watched silently, and Jack attempted to make friendly overtures.
It was so painful that Danny was almost glad when they were called out into the Assembly Hall, leaving Sophia, Irene and Jack to watch from the doorway.
The huge room resembled an amphitheater in some ways. There were seats in curved tiers around the sides of the room, and in the center was a circular raised dais with a small moat-like channel cut between it and the first rank of seats. The dias had a mosaic map of Avlynys set into it, the nine islands picked out in surprising detail.
The Assembly itself didn’t take up all of the seats. In less grim circumstances, the upper ranks would be filled with a wide variety of observers, from schoolchildren, to lobbyists, to would-be politicians, to ordinary citizens there on a whim. Right now, the only observers were local journalists and a singular camera crew.
(Danny hoped that no one he knew back in Amity watched the governmental news channels of tiny nordic countries as a hobby. This was the first time he and Jazz were publicly appearing as part of the royal family, and he hadn’t really thought through what that entailed.)
Behind the seats, the walls of the hall were filled with traditional Avlynyse heraldry. The Tree and Pond, nine stars picked out among the curling branches and reflected in the blue-green waters. The Ancestors’ Eye, bright green and multiplied. The Nine Sisters, standing on the islands they anthropomorphized like stepping stones. The Hero’s Arms, rendered variously as a spear and scroll or a knife and a book.
It was an impressive room. Not as big as parliament, or congress, but still impressive.
Also very intimidating.
The family gathered around the edge of the dais, with Matthew standing tall in the middle of their line.
The Speaker walked out along the walkway to the center of the dais and began to speak. “Hyr, todag, sy folk sal coronyn Mathyw Alfryd sy Bisige yf sy Hys Dyryse Avlynyse, Sunn Ynyse…”
Danny mentally translated for himself: Here, today, the people shall crown Mathyw Alfryd the Diligent of the House of Dyrys of Avlynys, Son of the Isles, Blood of Kings and Heroes. Are there any of the House of Dyrys who would oppose this? One who speaks would call those of the blood to bear witness.
There was a beat of silence.
“Athlyng Yonna Loryn Dyrys Avlynyse, do thou beryn wytnes?”
Lovely thing about Avlynys was that everyone born there had a completely legal English name, and an equally legal Avlynyse name.
Joanna stepped forward, spine ruler-straight, hands clasped in front of herself. “Yn beryn wytnes ekyn sagyn no agyn.” I bear witness and say nothing in opposition.
“Athlyng Madlyn Myra Dyrys Avlynyse, do thou beryn wytnes?”
Maddie took her place next to her cousin. “Yn beryn wytnes ekyn sagyn no agyn.”
“Ledyn Yugyn Kartyr Dyrys, do thou beryn wytnes?”
Eugene took his place significantly more gingerly. “Yn beryn wytnes ekyn sagyn no agyn.”
“Ledyn Lwys Theydyr Dyrys, do thou beryn wytnes?”
Lewis nodded before answering. “Yn beryn wytnes ekyn sagyn no agyn.”
“Ledyn Irys Yvlyn Dyrys, Ledyn Georg Lyk Dyrys, do thou beryn wytnes?”
The twins moved forward together. Born at the same time, they had the same rank in traditional rituals. “Yn beryn wytnes ekyn sagyn no agyn,” they said together.
“Ledyn Leo Alfryd Dyrys, do thou beryn wytnes?”
“Yn beryn wytnes ekyn sagyn no agyn,” said Leo, his voice cracking. He looked past Lewis and the twins to where Vivian would usually stand during something like this.
“Ledyn Yazmyn Roz Dyrys, do thou beryn wytnes?”
There was some whispering from the Assembly, but Jazz stepped forward, leaving Danny alone at the edge of the dais except for Matthew, apparently unaffected. “Yn beryn wytnes ekyn sagyn no agyn.” She broke protocol by just a hair to look back at Danny.
“Ledyn Dannyl Ymaz Dyrys, do thou beryn wytnes?”
Danny, full of nerves, almost tripped over his own feet, but he managed to reach his assigned place. “Yn beryn wytnes ekyn sagyn no agyn,” he said, echoing all the others, but very aware of how American his accent was. What else was he going to say? That he should be declared king?
That was ridiculous.
The Speaker bowed to them, “So, kumyn, Athlyng Mathyw. Syon thy folk.”
Matthew walked past them, to the opposite edge of the dias.
“Athlyng Mathyw, wel thou sweryn…” Prince Mathyw, will you swear to your people to serve and defend them, in all ways written in the law, in body and spirit? To lead them in the dark and the light?”
As far as binding oaths went, Danny thought it was simple and elegant. The metaphor might be used by someone being a literal genie like, say, Desiree, but as far as humans went, it was understandable and clear.
“Yn wel sweryn so,” replied Matthew.
The Speaker nodded sharply, and called for the Cup of the Oath. The Cupbearer - yes, it was an official position, but it didn’t hold all that much responsibility… or at least, it hadn’t - hurried in from the wings, holding up the ancient gold goblet. Other aides followed in his wake, moving to distribute more modern glasses among the Assembly.
Danny hardly noticed them, however. His attention was on the furious and frightened-looking ghosts following the Cupbearer. Danny hadn’t even noticed when Vivian and Gwensyvyr had slipped away, too caught up with his own nerves, but now…
Vivian flew up into his face, teeth bared, cuts on her skin bleeding pink. Danny looked at her, looked at Gwensyvyr’s broad and exaggerated pointing at the goblet, looked at Matthew, who was even now reaching out to take it, reached a conclusion, and made a decision.
“Wait!” he said, stumbling forward, one hand raised. “Stop!”
One of the servers dropped a wineglass. Matthew turned to face him, every inch of his skin drenched in consternation. Maddie grabbed his elbow and dragged him back into line, albeit in the wrong spot.
“Don’t,” said Maddie, quietly. “You don’t want to expose yourself to the pol–”
“I’m probably just being paranoid,” said Danny, loudly, clearly, projecting his voice. He tried not to look at the ghosts, more than one of whom had taken on a distinct posture of relief. “But, cousin… Will you test it? Before you drink? Just in case.”
The Cupbearer’s mouth, already open, dropped even further. “I tested it!” he objected.
“Danny,” said Matthew, quietly, clearly trying to salvage the situation. “Dannyl, we’ve tested everything here dozens of times, after what… happened. It’s fine.”
The ghosts seemed to think otherwise.
Danny pulled away from Maddie and took a couple quick steps forward, wanting to make his case again - or be in a position to knock away the cup if Matthew suddenly grabbed it - whereupon the Cupbearer threw the contents of the goblet at Danny.
Wine dripped down his face.
Matthew inhaled deeply and pressed his hands together as if praying for patience. Danny wasn’t paying too much attention, having noticed something much more disturbing than Matthew reaching the end of his rope.
“Your Majesty,” squeaked the Cupbearer. “I’m so sor–”
“Not crowned yet,” said Matthew. “Danny–”
“I can’t feel my skin,” said Danny. Belatedly, he remembered basic lab safety - a common problem in his family, apparently - and started stripping off the clothes that had been soaked by the wine.
“Oh, god,” said Maddie, barely audible.
“What?”
“I can’t feel my skin,” said Danny. “I’m going numb. I can’t - ow, heck.” Formal clothes were hard to get off when your vision was doing funny things.
“Medics!” snapped Matthew and there was a small commotion that Danny could hear but not see. “Security, arrest this man!”
“Sir, we have to move you to a safer location.”
“I will not–”
“Danny–”
“Don’t!” Danny told Jazz. “I don’t want you to get any of this on you.”
“Danny, are you–?”
“Dad, don’t!” The words came out slurred. The wine was still on his face, on his hands, dripping and dribbling down his neck. Was it safe to use his clothing to try and wipe it off?
Danny could feel his heart and breathing start to slow. Not to the point where it was dangerous to him, but he didn’t like the implications.
“Jazz,” he said, “my kit–”
“I’ll bring it to you, as soon as I can.”
“Sir?” said someone. “My name is Emily, and I’m trained in first aid. If you could turn towards me…”

"And Seek (Not) to Alter Me" Story Teasers: Nicole Wilkinson and Juno Caster
Presenting And Seek (Not) to Alter Me: Queer Fanworks Inspired by William Shakespeare's "Much Ado About Nothing"
Duck Prints Press has launched our second Kickstarter, running now through April 14th, 2022 - And Seek (Not) to Alter Me, a gorgeous collection featuring the work of 16 authors and 16 artists in a full-color, A4 size soft cover size-style book!
Today, we're highlighting 2 more of our authors...
*
Author Spotlight: Nicole Wilkinson
Biography: Nicole has been publishing her writing for the public since she first stumbled into fanfiction back in 2007, when a college friend introduced her to the concept through the world of Final Fantasy VIII slash fiction. Since then, it’s been a roller coaster ride straight through dozens of fandoms, eventually leading to original content published through a variety of means. She’s in her mid-thirties, uses she/her pronouns, and more recently has discovered an intense affection for playing Dungeons and Dragons.

Story Title: A Skirmish of Wit
Tags: fantasy setting, masquerade, polyamory, sexual harassment (mild)
Teaser:
“It’s not going to work,” Madeline fretted but a few hours earlier. She glared at their costumes, the heavy silks, and the limiting gaze of the masks. Every inch of her muscled frame was tense with displeasure.
Madeline takes their safety seriously, and the idea of being unarmored and unarmed in the midst of a fraught situation forced her usually sunny facade into a twist of discomfort.
“You’re both at least a head taller than me,” Madeline pointed out, and though her observation wasn't wrong, it was nothing a little magic couldn’t fix, as Rae reminded her.
Magic couldn't make Madeline’s stout, muscular frame match the tall, reediness of Hyacinth, or the soft and round curves of Rae, but it could convince curious eyes that there were other, more interesting things to observe.
Madeline gnawed on her worry where Hyacinth was all logic. “There will be so much spellcraft in the air, no one will notice a minor transmutation. Over half the attendees will indulge in illusion if only to seem more desirable.”
“It'll work,” Rae assured Madeline. She took their hands in hers, tried to warm Hyacinth’s chilled fingers with her own, and swallowed a wince as Madeline squeezed back, a touch too strongly. “I love you both and this will work.”

Author Spotlight: Juno Caster
Juno is a queer woman in her thirties living in France; she teaches ESL and English literature. She’s been involved in fandom, mostly through writing fanfiction, for twenty years—first on forums and privately hosted websites, then on LiveJournal and FanFiction.net, and now on Tumblr and AO3. She’s mostly into Asian dramas these days; other interests include foreign languages, true crime, and coffee.

Story Title: Good Men and True
Tags: modern setting
Teaser:
Next to his partner (in every sense of the word) Verges appeared deceptively unremarkable. He didn’t possess Dogberry’s muscular bulk; instead, he was tall and wiry. His uniform fit him perfectly, and while it was a little creased from having been worn almost a whole shift through, it still looked as neat as the rest of him. He always kept his hair close-cropped, his cheeks clean-shaved; he would have looked austere were it not for the way his blue eyes shone, gentle and observant, from behind his silver-rimmed glasses.
He smiled at Dogberry, who was making a show of savoring his first sip of coffee, then turned his attention back to Margaret.
“You’re looking very sharp.”
“Thank you.”
“Today’s the day, right?”
“Today’s the day.”

We've got lots more teasers, samples of the art inside the book, merch, and more - all at our Kickstarter campaign! Check it out!

ive made a few of these bingo sheets and theyre fun so i decided to make one not just for e3 but also JUST for splatoon 3 (not just for e3 but for like the whole lifetime of the game). also heres my updated list of characters id like to see in smash, ordered generally by which id like more and/or think are the most realistic
since min min got in i took out helix, and since i couldnt decide whether to add in waluigi or madeline i added another row (realistically i dont think any indies are getting in but i threw some in anyway). also i was like “oh yeah maybe theyd put in a gen viii pokemon” so i threw in hatterene since thats one of my favorites.
also as for waluigi (and shovel knight for that matter) i think it would be nice to see an assist trophy get in just to break that rule. also i remember being super surprised he wasnt in brawl (back then i thought he and wario were equally important) and even though that was based on a wrong impression ive still felt like he should be in there ever since
notes about the bingos under the cut
really is about time for those n64 games, especially now that mario is dead so theyre free to release sm64 on it. game boy games would be nice sometime too
would also make sense to include banjo-kazooie in that, nintendos had a good relationship with microsoft lately and the total absence of anything banjo-kazooie on the switch is odd since it’s a dlc character (every other one has a game on switch they can use for cross-marketing, even if joker’s took a while) and i think the best explanation for that would be that theyre holding off for the nso n64 app (this is easiest from a technical standpoint because all they have to do is make a deal to use the roms)
when are they putting octolings in mk8d
xenoblade chronicles x is one of the only wii u games left that they could port (aside from ones that wouldnt make much sense like splatoon and ssb4) so i guess that might as well happen sometime. also monolith soft might be doing something else besides helping with splatoon 3
im not ready for metroid prime 4 (im over halfway through mp2 and therefore the trilogy as a whole) but it’s been a while, they might show it and it could even come out this year
hal apparently recently hinted at a new kirby game or something
the upgraded switch is obviously going to be called the Nintendo Switch ͥ since they already did the ds lite so theyre clearly naming everything in the family after the ds family, theres absolutely no flaw in this logic. idk if theyre showing it, but unlike 2019 they didnt say they werent showing new hardware (just that they were showing software, which could be taken as denying rumors, but they sometimes specify when certain things arent being shown)
metroid prime trilogy also might come this year. would make sense to release it before mp4 since not everyone is going to buy a wii u to get it (and at this point that doesnt get nintendo any money since they stopped making them)
where is detective pikachu 2. i hope it has the blue pikachu from that first tease they gave us in like 2014 (2013? that was a loooong time ago idk)
they said this was MOSTLY 2021 so i am absolutely getting my hopes up for splatoon 2
the two sinnoh games could likely be there
would be super cool if oddity came to switch. and almost as ironic as megalovania getting into smash
we havent seen the botw sequel for a couple years so we’re kind of due for an update on that
it’s ace attorney’s 20th anniversary this year so maybe theyre doing something. theyre already porting those games though so idk. maybe he’s getting in smash
whats with that watermelon mario render
i held off on watching a playthrough for ndrv3 on the off chance it came to switch and i could play a dangan ronpa game for real for once but it’s now been 4 years and we just passed the 10th anniversary of the series (albeit during a pandemic when i wouldnt expect them to have done anything) so it would be cool to see the series come to switch. i think if it still doesnt after this though i’ll just watch the playthrough, 4 years is long enough. amazed ive avoided spoilers this long, i still know next to nothing about the game
im about done with acnh but im still waiting on those splatoon items. and i ran out of storage in february so i need more of that too
nintendo did stuff for zelda’s 30th anniversary so i doubt theyre forgetting the 35th. maybe wwhd/tphd ports, idk
been a couple years since fire emblem, intelligent systems is probably up to something besides planning yet another paper mario spinoff
miyamoto forgot pikmin 4 in the oven 6 years ago and it got burnt to a crisp and thats why it hasnt come out yet because he had to start over
and splatoon
the inklings scared daft punk into quitting so now that theres no competition in the robot musician scene they should have a daft punk style group
i waited and waited and neither of my top two splatoon stages (flounder and d’alfonsino) came back in splatoon 2 so i hope just because splatoon 3 isnt in inkopolis doesnt mean they still wont return
would be sick as hell if there was a real hide and seek mode instead of just sticking to your own rules in private battles. havent played that since 2015 but it was super fun
show us the effects of the chaos world
i wanted mc craig to have a song in octo expansion and they didnt deliver. heres another chance
splatnet 3 baby
cant wait for nogami to do a funny 3 pose
abxy came back for splatoon 2.... am i gonna be that lucky again...?
salmon run doesnt make sense if youre friends with a smallfry but they could either change the story context (you just fight “evil” salmonids?) or replace it with an equally fun co-op mode
amiibo!!! i think i said this before but they should label them by weapons if these cephalopods dont have genders, would make more sense (the gendered ones had different weapons anyway)
returning characters!!!! would like to see everyone have a role of some kind
maybe #GearForAll wasnt successful in getting the emperor/spy/mecha gear, but perhaps theyll at least consider not making that stuff exclusive this time around
squid girl gear should be back. and they should call it a dress instead of a tunic because its a dress. and theres no gender now anyway
as ive said before... TRIPLIES!! you hold one in each hand and another in your mouth. and you can spin around like the tasmanian devil
remove splatfest tee annoyances: you should have a prompt at the end of a splatfest to pay to scrub your tee (to make sure you get the chunks) also it should be on a neutral brand so you dont end up with an overabundance of ink resistance up (or whatever else)
better online and cloud saves would certainly justify having a second splatoon game on the same console, as much as im loving that it exists
hopefully theres a global testfire again
sooner or later the workers will rise up and kill mr grizz
remember in splatoon 1 where if you had squid beatz (via the amiibo) you could “play” it in the lobby and change the music? then you were stuck listening to only bubble bath in splatoon 2? why did they take that option away they should bring it back
looking at those apartment buildings in the trailer i think it would be cool if you had your own room and could decorate it
an octavio redemption arc would be fun to see. in the manga he stole the zapfish because the octarians had an energy crisis, and in the end they worked out a deal to share the electricity

after “a violence”
you hear the high-pitched yowls of strays fighting for scraps tossed from a kitchen window. they sound like children you might have had. had you wanted children. had you a maternal bone, you would wrench it from your belly and fling it from your fire escape. as if it were the stubborn shard now lodged in your wrist. no, you would hide it. yes, you would hide it inside a barren nesting doll you’ve had since you were a child. its smile reminds you of your father, who does not smile. nor does he believe you are his. “you look just like your mother,” he says, “who looks just like a fire of suspicious origin.” a body, i’ve read, can sustain its own sick burning, its own hell, for hours. it’s the mind. it’s the mind that cannot.
